Clinton belittles Obama as 'a lot of talk, little action': The Swamp

The Swamp

By Rick Pearson

FT. WORTH, Texas—Democrat Hillary Clinton made it clear to reporters aboard her campaign plane today that in the final days of the Texas-Ohio delegate spectacular, her focus will remain on portraying herself as stronger than Barack Obama on national security.

Clinton, a New York senator, said now that voters know Sen. John McCain of Arizona is the presumed Republican presidential nominee, they also know what to expect from him—using the GOP playbook to focus on the national security issue. She said that’s why she’s brought it up, in her speeches and a controversial ad, and rejects any charges from the Obama camp that she’s engaged in fear mongering.

“My opponent says it’s fear mongering to talk about national security and the fact that we’re at war,” Clinton told a crowd at the historic stockyards in Fort Worth. “Well, I don’t think people in Texas scare all that easily.”

Clinton sought to belittle Obama, a first-term senator from Illinois, as inexperienced compared to herself and McCain.

“He (McCain) will put forth his lifetime of experience. I will put forth my lifetime of experience. Sen. Obama will put forth a speech he made in 2002,” she told reporters aboard her plane.

“And that’s why national security is a critical issue for Democrats as we go into this primary because everyone knows that John McCain will make this election about national security. That is a given. And it will be imperative that we have a nominee who is able to stand on that stage with Sen. McCain, and I believe I am the person best able to do that,” she said.

“His entire campaign is based on one speech he gave at an anti-war rally in 2002,” Clinton said of an Obama speech opposing the war in Iraq. “And I give him credit for making the speech, but the speech was not followed up with action, which is part of the pattern we have seen repeatedly—a lot of talk, little action.”

Obama spokesman Bill Burton said Clinton "chose to follow the politics of the moment" by voting for a war "that has made us less safe and less secure."

"Sen. Clinton is right when she says she's been tested on national security, but it's a test she has resoundingly failed,” Burton said in a statement.

WOW!

Hillary is getting more desperate every single day.

I wonder if she's going to have another one of her screaming, tantrum throwing, fake outrage news conferences before this coming Tuesday?

Hillary should have s-canned Mark Penn a LONG time ago...

OBAMA 08!!!

PS - the best part about Hillary throwing all of this mud at Senator Obama is that when the Republic Party does it this fall (and they will because as usual, they've got nothing else to run on) it will already be old news...

YOU MIGHT BE AN IDIOT:-)

If you think Barack Obama with little or no experience would be better than Hillary Clinton with 35 years experience.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience can fix an economy on the verge of collapse better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) led the greatest economic expansion, and prosperity in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience fighting for universal health care can get it for you better than Hillary Clinton. Who anticipated this current health care crisis back in 1993, and fought a pitched battle against overwhelming odds to get universal health care for all the American people.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience can manage, and get us out of two wars better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) went to war only when he was convinced that he absolutely had to. Then completed the mission in record time against a nuclear power. AND DID NOT LOSE THE LIFE OF A SINGLE AMERICAN SOLDIER. NOT ONE!

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience saving the environment is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) left office with the greatest amount of environmental cleanup, and protections in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with little or no education experience is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) made higher education affordable for every American. And created higher job demand and starting salary's than they had ever been before or since.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Obama with no experience will be better than Hillary Clinton who spent 8 years at the right hand of President Bill Clinton. Who is already on record as one of the greatest Presidents in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that you can change the way Washington works with pretty speeches from Obama, rather than with the experience, and political expertise of two master politicians ON YOUR SIDE like Hillary and Bill Clinton..

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think all those Republicans voting for Obama in the Democratic primaries, and caucuses are doing so because they think he is a stronger Democratic candidate than Hillary Clinton. :-)

Best regards

jacksmith...

The best part about this is-- that while Ob$m$ Whackes use Hillary's criticism as an "attack" to get Obama ahead, the Republicans won't mind bringing up this image Obama created for himself and beefing out her reasonable argument against him.

Hillary’s ad plays to a false argument. The idea that the President makes "split-second decisions" in the middle of the night. The President can't order pizza without his/her advisors. The idea that the PRESIDENT MAKES DECISIONS IN ISOLATION IS LAUGHABLE. At 3 AM, the top advisors to the President get the call too--and usually before the President does. Then they get together and give the President what the military calls "just in time training" (a quick precis of the facts, our options, and the recommendations of the top advisors). Then the President picks one of those choices.
This ad is about creating doubt that Sen. Obama could credibly lead without acknowledging that she has marginally more experience than he does and doesn't always get it right.
credit to the person that
made this clear.

I encourage everyone to read this piece from MSNBC - I can't believe they're the only ones to have run this - it's regarding Senator Clinton and a 170,000.00 campaign contribution she has accepted and will not give back from a company where all it's principals are being sued in a massive sexual harrassment suit.

Other politicians who have received contributions have returned the money.

I love how whenever Hillary truthfully criticizes Obama, his followers say she's desperate.

Sounds like they're the ones who're desperate; desperate to acknowledge that one of these days, the truth about Obama is gonna shine right on through his manufactured facade, despite the fact that they desperately plaster these comment walls with ridiculous comments trying to convince one another that their leader is indestructible.

Bringing up foreign policy experience and competence is relevant. The "fearmongering" is the implication our children might die in their sleep if we won't vote for you. (I know Wolfson says everything in the ad is soft and doesn't evoke fear. He is lying. I don't want to be lied to.)

Like most observors, I fail to see where Clinton beats McCain on foreign policy experience. "When you were working in the Senate, John, I took a trip to Ireland. China, too." The way to contrast them is judgment and a great but achievable vision, and Obama can win that more easily than Clinton.

Clinton has surrounded herself with long-time friends as advisors who told her that she didn't need to plan past Feb 5th because she'd be hailed as the victor. As a result, she found herself caught up in a long term struggle she was ill-prepared for and unready to finance.

President Bush surrounded himself with long-time friends as advisors who told him that he didn't need to plan past the original invasion of Iraq because he'd be hailed as the liberator. As a result, Bush found himself caught up in a prolonged struggle he was ill-prepared for and unready to finance.

Both supported the invasion of Iraq, although Clinton now denies that her vote for the "Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq" was really, you know, a vote authorizing the use of military force against Iraq.

There's no difference between Clinton and Bush on their judgement regarding foreign policy. Clinton just hasn't been given the chance to make Bush-sized mistakes yet. But she's showing real potential.

I voted for Senator Clinton in the Texas Primary and will caucus for her because I looked closely at both candidates records, experience, years of public service, how they have voted or not voted as elected officials, scrutinized their healthcare and economic plans--and came to the conclusion that when you zero in on those things- she is the more qualified candidate.
I believe in my Party and want the most qualified candidate for the general election. I also think that Senator Clinton has been vetted and Senator Obama has not. We cannot afford any surprises in the general election. I think Senator Obama would make a fine President one day- but Senator Clinton is the right person for this election.

Hillary, maybe voters don't want their president to check a Zogby Poll when they make an important decision. The reality is that Clinton opposed the war only when it was popular to do so. In contrast, Obama had the judgement to recognize that it was militarily a strategic error from the start. We do not need a president that shifts positions when it is most politically convenient.

"'It's 3 a.m., and your children are safe and asleep, but there's a phone in the Clinton home and it's ringing.'

"'Heh, hon, did you squirrel away our tax returns like you stashed away those Whitewater records?

"'Heh, heh, heh ...

"'Those pesky reporters are looking into why we won't release them before the Democratic Convention and we have to stonewall ...'"

VOICE OVER: "Your vote will decide whether someone tested and ready to lead in the dangerous world of government accountability ..."

Since when did Hillary ever pick up the red phone at 3:00 am in the White House? She couldn't even pronounce Medvedev's name, and she denounced the Pakistan elections because she said Musharraf was the 'only candidate running' when in fact they were parliamentary elections, not presidential elections- Musharraf had already been re-elected. Clinton is very weak on Foreign policy, and is just hiding behind her 'First Lady' role, which was not experience in judgement or decision making. This ad will become a laughing stock of the campaign. There are already several funny and clever redos on youtube. She is being out positioned, out financed, out campaigned, and out classed. It is over.

All in all she is right.
Obama is playing off a speech he gave in 2002
He had no say in the entire vote
He was a minor player at the time and was not given the same information as the people directly involved
He was not in a position to have a say at the time
Who is to say that if he had been given the same information he would not have done the same?
What has happened is in the now and needs to be dealt with to continue to give a speech about a 6 yr old speech is ignorant
Instead of continuing to talk about his past speech lets hear what he intends to do about the war and exactly how he is going to do it!!
And that is exactly where you will see the nothingness that he holds.
Alot of people were not in agreement about the war .
Obama makes it sound as if he is the only one who spoke against it
Lets hear his plans instead of his tiresome I was against it.

Who cares what Hillbilly says? Everyday she becomes more and more irrelevant.

Nicely put Hillary: Experience in foreign policy vs experience in foreign policy
or
Experience in foreign policy vs. a speech about foreign policy.

The answer is clear:
Hillary Clinton for Presdident

The reporter of this story is 'belittling' Clinton by using a personal attack word rather than comparing the substance of the conversation, namely 'experience'. It would be nice if the media would report the news rather than their own biases. The media is giving Obama a free pass in the same way that they gave Mr. Bush one in 2000 and 2004.

"Who is to say that if he had been given the same information he would not have done the same?"

Who's to say he wouldn't have?

"What has happened is in the now and needs to be dealt with to continue to give a speech about a 6 yr old speech is ignorant"

No, to gloss over the mistakes of the past and say "Let's forget about all that" is ignorant. The judgement people have shown in the past is an accurate indicator of the judgement they will show in the future.

"Instead of continuing to talk about his past speech lets hear what he intends to do about the war and exactly how he is going to do it!!"

I good defense is a good offense and when Hilary says McCain is going to make this election about National Security and Obama has made the democratic fight about Hope, it only proves that HIlary makes the campaign about neither. She is an answerer.. not a leader. Yes, She is smart, but she's the kid in the class who always has to be right to the detriment of compromise and listening to the values and ideas of all. I just think Obama has a better chance of bringing this country together. And if Hilary is going to run a campaign on experience, why the hesitation to release her White House Schedules? Just being a presidential wife with one public election under your belt does not make you more experienced. I cannot perform surgery just because my husband is a surgeon.

He didn't receive the NIE that Hillary did, BUT she didn't even read the thing. How's that for competent leadership?

Gee, why does she have on a full face of make up at 3 a.m.

Hillary is hysterical which does not speak of judgment under pressure. She lashes out dramatically, has not restraint, and appears to be a bully. This attitude has little to do with diplomacy and her venting is more like one would see in a barroom brawl. The tactics she is using are demeaning and the advisors I see speaking for her seem like the usual 'FAT' Washington types. Fresh air is needed.

That's right! Obama's speech opposed a popular president (at that time)when Hillary took the gutsy experienced skills she had to authorize a reckless president the power to destroy a culture and a nation with no real provocation. Prosthetic sales are doing great. So If you like her, that's fine. I'll vote for someone with a conscience.

Obama can't handle the truth...just ask Jack Nicholson!

Yeah, Obama was not given the same information as Clinton, who did not even bother to read it. Yet without the same info Obama still predicted EXACTLY right what would happen if we went in there the way we did. How'd he do that? Must be his incredible judgment. That trumps experience any day of the week. Dick Cheney is experienced. Strom Thurmond was experienced. Joseph McCarthy was experienced. I'll take the person whose shown the best judgment every time. And to the dude with the "You must be an idiot" rants...you must be an idiot, because Bill Clinton isn't running and this isn't the 1990s. You must be an idiot to call Hillary Clinton a master politician. Name me one piece of substantive legislation she has passed in her eight years in the senate. Every political task she was handed by Bill she failed miserably on. Overwhelming odds on health care? That's because she went at the problem all wrong and instead of tweaking the bill to get acceptance and votes from members of her own party even, she took her ball and went home like a spoiled child. Masterful politician? Please. Only an idiot thinks she is a masterful politician. A masterful politician wouldn't have underestimated Obama. A masterful politician wouldn't have squandered more than $125 million in donations and wouldn't be facing elimination. You are an idiot for thinking that Hillary has more elected legislative experience than Obama. Obama has 50 percent more of that kind of experience than Hillary does and he's won one more election than she has - the so-called master politician. Only an idiot throws out those kind of compliments without proof.

it's idiotic to think that obama isn't looking at zogby polls during his campaign. how do you think he figured out that he needed to reach out to hispanics and middle-aged women?

the fact that you obama supporters think that he's somehow above being a typical politician is even more infuriating than the fact that you think that he is qualified to be president.

he takes money from special interests.

he receives huge corporate donations.

he votes for bills that favor his biggest contributors.

he had shady dealings in his home state.

he will say and do anything to get elected.

wake the eff up, people. he is the same as the rest of them.

now wipe the drool from your lips and grow up.

I am sick and tired of this so call experience lets look at their records in the senate T H E R E C O R D

Let's take a closer look at who's really qualified and or who's really working for the good of all of us in the Senate. Obama or Clinton.

Records of these two candidates should be scrutinized in order to make an informed decision.

Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term - 6yrs. - and another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law - 20 - twenty pieces of legislation in her first six years.
These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress www.thomas.loc.gov , but to save you trouble, I'll post them here for you.
1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.
2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.
3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.
5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson.
6. Name post office after Jonn A. O'Shea.
7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, as National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial of his death.
10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution Commemorative Program.
13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda.
14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express condolences on her death.
15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters who lost their lives on duty. Only five of Clinton 's bills are, more substantive. 16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11 18. Assist landmine victims in other countries.
19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.

There you have it, the fact's straight from the Senate Record.

Now, I would post those of Obama's, but the list is too substantive, so I'll mainly categorize.
During the first - 8 - eight years of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills. He introduced
233 regarding healthcare reform,
125 on poverty and public assistance,
112 crime fighting bills,
97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
21 ethics reform bills,
15 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.

His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These inculded **the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 - became law, **The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, - became law, **The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate, **The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, - became law, **The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, In committee, and many more.

In all, since entering the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096.
An impressive record, for someone who supposedly has no record according to some who would prefer that this comparison not be made public.
He's not just a talker.
He's a doer.

Pass it on....It's impressive Looking at the record the choice is clear.

Today, the world news is that Armenia is an chaos and 50 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli raiders. The call might not come at 3am, but the calls will come, daily.

So far, Senator Obama has been very successful using the plan/counter plan technique taught to members of the National Forensic League in high schools around the country. This technique requires incorporating your opponent's plan into your plan. The same can be done with political commercials, obviously. The problem with this technique comes when an original plan is needed. When there is no plan to be incorporated, what will Senator Obama do?

hey jacksmith, I suppose the fact that every Obama rally outdraws Hillary too is just Republicans as well?

writing off Obama's wins as simply sneaky Republicans is so lame. I suppose if Hillary managed to come back it would be all on the up and up, hmmm?

Facts are facts, Obama has made inroads and cuts into Hillary's base. in October 07 Hillary even had the vast majority of the black vote. Hillary's simply run a bad campaign.

I'd be interested to note what significant foreign-policy decisions Hillary Clinton has made during her "35 years" of experience. When pressed, the Clinton campaign cited a speech she gave in China as their example of "tough decisions" she's had to make; not exactly your highest credentials.

Let's face it: neither candidate is particularly "experienced" when it comes to foreign policy. The voters are left to draw conclusions from the small body of evidence that sheds light on how they would make their decisions.

The Obama camp is right in using the decision to invade Iraq as a key bit of evidence that sheds light on the judgment of the candidates. It is probably the most significant foreign-policy decision that country has faced in the political career of these two candidates, and Obama showed the superior judgment.

Who do I feel safer with? I feel safer who--evidence suggests--has the courage to stand up for what's right. I feel safer with President Barack Obama.

you might be an idiot if you think hillary and bill are synonymous.

Found this on Huffpost HRC Supporters. Spread your brain-washed, bribed, sold-out tripe somewhere else. I want a leader, not a corporate shill.

Obama has a short history on which to attack him. That is why both HillBilly and McPain fear him. It is why Obama is so electable. Specifically because he has spent so little time in the US Senate wheeling and dealing. After so many years voting on something distasteful so you can get a vote for your project, eventually comes back to bite you. It will hurt McPain and HillBilly. And it will hurt more than a short record on which to run.

So, I guess Hillary took Bill Kristol's idea and went with the "fear card".

I guess if you want 4 or 8 MORE years of fear-mongering, then Hillary Clinton is the one for you!

Jack Smith,
We know you are an idiot.

We are not electing Bill Clinton. Every single bullet point you mention includes Bill.

We passed the 21st Amendment for a reason.

I simply want to see a democrat in office. From a policy perspective, Obama's and Clinton's differences are slight. This issue of being "tested" is silly really for both candidates; they are both relatively new when it comes to real leadership. Being law school graduates and in the senate doesn't necessarily make anyone able to cope with scary calls at 3am; All that holds true about 3am calls is they are usually coming from a drunk relative or something bad has happened. Who really believes either candidate would have a break down and become paralyzed. They both deserve more credit than that.

What is important is who can win the general. If the Clinton folks would "get it", they would look at her overall negative numbers compounded by the difficulty she has with this so-called inexperienced "kid" running against her and come to the conclusion that she can't win the general. In fact, she will mobilize republicans and while most Hillary supporters will end up supporting Obama, I can't believe the reverse is really the case. I see a lot of Dems staying home if she picks up the nomination nod. That's how polarizing she is.

Lets put a Dem in office, push our chips in and lay our cards down. If Obama isn't all that he seems, we can change him out in 4 years. I'll take that over losing the mid altogether to another republican who will surely lock it up for the next 8 years. I just can't see why Hillary supporters don't see that.

If the democrats push Hillary over the top by a slim margin based on slick tactics, they, and their supporters, will only have themselves to blame when they undoubtedly lose in November. Lets get it right this time. If Gore couldn't pull it off against Bush in 2000 (just go look at the red vs. blue map from that election), no way is Hillary going to shift those demographics in her favor, regardless of anti-Bush sentiment. If Obama doesn't pull this out, this election is over and McCain is your new Commander In Chief. What a waste.

Lifetime of experience? In national security? This from someone who was first elected to her first office of any kind just 8 years ago? Since when does that constitute a lifetime? She's become quite the master of misstatement.

I started out as a Hillary supporter, so it pains me to say this, but she's really getting pathetic with this stuff. Obama was right on the war, and she was wrong. End of story.

Please read this:
"I found this story about a case where Hillary used her knowledge of child abuse to get a man off of rape charges to be very sad and disturbing. Of course, it was her job as a lawyer to provide a competent defense, but it seems like she may have crossed a line by aggressively attacking the 12-year-old girl"s character."

Here's a great video clip of Bill Clinton explaining one of his laws of politics. If one candidate is playing to your fears and the other to your hopes, if one is challenging your mind and your dreams, vote for the one that makes you think and makes you hope.

I'm starting to get sick of Hillary's Rovian tactics!

Makes me wanna vomit!

Jack
There is no "might" when it comes to you-you are an idiot! Almost all the items on your list are things that you claim that Bill C did-not Hilary. You make the case that Hillary, Like W, is only in the running because of her family connections, family name and money. That is in fact the only reason she is where she is today. And the public has figured that out. As you probably don't know, the statistics prove that the highly educated voters are gravating towards Obama while the less educated, those who make inane arguments like you, are less educated. So you can throw your "idiot" claims away because they are contrary to the facts. Apparantly you, like Hillary, are only able to see the trees and not the forest so you list off a bunch of nonsense claims just like the small minded Hillary drones on and on about the programs she hopes to pass in an attempt to prove how smart she is. She lacks the ability to see the big picture, she lacks vision. She is not a leader and she does not deserve to lead this country since the only valuable thing she has ever done in her alleged 35 years is to marry Bill. Her incredible arrogance and mean-spirited venom is going to get her. I hope the people of NY wise up and send her back to Arkansas.

what did the 23 senators who voted against the iraq resolution know then that hillary knows now?

Well argued and presented, Mr Jack Smith. Bear in mind the reason,Obama is leading is because the Republicans are setting up the stage for another GOP in the White House where McCain can modify the neglect of this administration. But what specific plan has the Senator from Illinois intend to implement? And what about those so called Clinton friends who abandoned Hillary in the middle of the close campaign.Bill is right, black people left them for their kind.

I lost all respect for her. She is acting like a Reublican fear monger. This is why people want change. I will never vote for her. I'm sure I am not the only one who feels this way.

Bill is right, black people left them for their kind.

I hope you meant Their own kind as in American.

Hillary can't even run a campaign, much less a country.

**Experience has no value. There is "good" experience and "bad" experience. Hillary has made some horrendous choices while getting her "experience." You need to change the meme to another valueless word. Judgement. Obama has GREAT judgement. Hillary? Not so much.

Yet without the same info Obama still predicted EXACTLY right what would happen if we went in there the way we did.

-He predicted? Or just took a well calculated risk... why didn't he use his crystal ball when he befriended Rezko...

I'd be interested to note what significant foreign-policy decisions Hillary Clinton has made during her "35 years" of experience.

-I'd be interested to note what significant foreign-policy decisions Obama has made in his whatever years of experience. And when you are not part of the decision making body that will be making the decision then your not really making a decision....you are making a speech under very different circumstances. Your pressure to get elected doesn't count the same as those who were elected and have to make a decision.

Hey Jack Smith,
You might be a stupid dumb-fuck if you believe in a phony, corrupt nepotist such as Hillary Clinton. Let's see her tax returns.
Let's see the real records of her supposed "accomplishments" as first lady. Was her work at the Rose Law Firm in the "public interest?" Was her work for the board of Wal-Mart in the "public interest." What a joke!

Judgment will bite Obama in the butt..

"In terms of appearances, and I've already said this, that I should not have entered into any kind of agreement with him," Obama added on ABC's "Good Morning America."

YOU MIGHT BE AN IDIOT:-)

YOU ARE AN IDIOT. I GUARANTEE YOU. YOUR KIND IS GETTING DESERATE. THEREFORE YOU RESORT
TO CALLING OBAMA SUPPROTER IDIOTS. SHAME ON YOU THE MORE YOU PLAY THIS DIRTY GAMES THR MORE YOU ASSURE YOUR TO FACED CLINTON'S LOSE, IDIOT.

YOU MIGHT BE AN IDIOT:-)

YOU ARE AN IDIOT. I GUARANTEE YOU. YOUR KIND IS GETTING DESERATE. THEREFORE YOU RESORT
TO CALLING OBAMA SUPPROTER IDIOTS. SHAME ON YOU THE MORE YOU PLAY THIS DIRTY GAMES THE FASTER YOU ASSURE YOUR TO FACED CLINTON'S LOSE, IDIOT.

What is Sen. Obama'a foreign policy on Israel? Have not seen anything specific about it. How about the entire Middle East policy by Sen. Obama except to TALK to all the dictators and the enemies. And to meet with them without any preconditions with some preparation. What does that mean? Again he is all talk and no plan for action. Hillary Clinton is prepared, experienced, and ready on day one. Vote for Hillary Clinton as our next President.

Jack Smith: I really thought for a minute that your list of idiotic points were just a form of sarcasm. I guess you are serious. If you think Hillary is in a better position to fix the economy, doesn't it bother you that she can't even manage her campaign properly. If you can't handle a 200 Million budget, how can you manage a 3 trillion budget?

What, exactly, is this purported "lifetime experience," or "35 years of experience" that Senator Clinton repeatedly refers to? Wow -- this self-absorbed and arrogant demagogue and her entire hubris-filled campaign can't leave the stage quickly enough.

The Obamamaniacs were the ones who preferred to tell everyone how much more intelligent they were.... now they are crying foul over the word idiot....

Last Sunday, Barack held a meeting in Cleveland, Ohio with about 100 Jewish community leaders. He discussed his commitment to the security of Israel and the friendship between the United States and Israel, reaching out to people of different faiths, and how his own faith influences his life.

Why don't you do your research. Go to his website. Everything is spelled out.

Hillary only cares about being elected. Her nasty campaign is evidence of that. She could care less that she is destroying the Democratic party. We need change not more of the same.

Ethel Schaen, that means jews wouldn't be able to commit WARCRIMES and MSSECRES AT WILL. i know that is a BIG crime in itself for your kind.
SHAME ON YOU. AND SHAME ON you
AGANIN on ALL the US SUPPORTED and FINANCED WARCRIMINALS.

The night the Supreme Court stopped the vote count in Florida, I told my husband we would go to war with Iraq. I had no doubt that was George Bush's intention

It is amazing to me that people seem not to care that George Bush mislead the Congress and the rest of us, but so many of you won't forgive Senator Clinton for voting to give Bush authorization to go to war after being given bad information with which to make the vote.

I must say it took a lot less courage to make a speech that was essentially inconsequential at the time, than to actually vote your conscience and to do what you believed was right at the time.

Senator Obama claims that he will be able to bring the country together if elected, I hope he is right.

Given the amount of hatred and sarcasm aimed at Senator Clinton from Obama supporters, I fear it will be more daunting than he imagined.

I am a staunch Senator Clinton supporter, but I don't see your man as a bad guy. I think he's a politician, not the devil.

It is amazing for all Senator Obama's talk of hope and togetherness, how angry and negative ya'll seem.

I started out being an Obama supporter until he voted to fund Bushes war.
He is the biggest bullshitter running.
If he wins the dem nod at least I can vote for McCain who is not a bull shitter

Ethel Schaen:

Obama had a Q&A session with 100 Jewish community leaders in Ohio on February 24, where he discussed many of his policies on Israel in depth. You can read about it here: http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/02/26/obamas_ohio_grilling.html

As for Clinton's attacks, there's really just meaningless personal attacks, and I think many people recognize that. I personally like Clinton though, so I wish she would use better campaign tactics to get her point across ... people are just going to hate her more if she continues this kind of bashing.

We don't need a fighter. We've had quite enough fighting to last a couple of lifetimes.

What we need is a leader.

On that count, neither Clinton nor McCain need apply.

After reading everything Hilary has to say I cannot see what she plans to do differently than Bush. As for the great economic expansion during Bill's tenure it was also the time when our safety net was all but dismantled by his so-called welfare reform. She did not say one thing to support the poor and working poor and how this affected them. As in the last market expansion during the Bush years it was Wall Street and corporations that benefitted; none of that profit trickled down to the rest of us. The old excuse of "If I knew then what I now know I would'nt have voted for the war just does not hold any water. It was her responsibility to know what she was voting for. Obama may be untested but he at least offers us the chance for some change rather than more of the same.

YOU MIGHT BE AN IDIOT:-)
If you think Hillary Clinton has any real experience, think again.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Hillary with no real experience can fix an economy on the verge of collapse better than Barak Obama. Hillary’s husband (Bill Clinton) led the greatest economic expansion, and prosperity in American history based on a cyber-economy which turned into vapor-prosperity and a recession that started in the final months of his office.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Hillary with no real successful experience can get what she calls universal health care but really is mandatory health care. The American people don’t want another deduction from their paycheck shoved down their throat.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Hillary Clinton with no real experience can manage, and get us out of two wars better than Barak Obama. Hillary’s husband (Bill Clinton) went to war only when he was convinced that he absolutely had to instead of when he should have. Then he sat on the sidelines while Americans died in the first World Trade Center bombing, the bombing of Khobar Towers, Somalia, the embassy bombings in Kenya and USS Cole bombing. He even refused the offer of expedition of Bin Laden!

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Clinton with no experience saving the environment is better than Barak Obama. She was too busy working working for corporate law firms that protected polluters to actually do anything about the environment.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Hillary Clinton with no real education experience is better than Barak Obama will make higher education affordable for every American. Barak Obama knows what its like to pay for student loans and knows the academic environment since he taught Constitutional Law.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think that Hillary Clinton with no real experience will be better than Barak Obama. Hillary claims experience by proxy when Obama actually has more legislative experience than she does.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think politics-as-usual is going to stop the gridlock in Washington. Hillary is still campaigning in the 90’s while Barak Obama is leading a movement that can and will chage the way things get done.

You Might Be An Idiot!

If you think all those Republicans voting for Obama in the Democratic primaries aren’t inspired by his message of hope and his leadership. Hillary Clinton couldn’t buy a Republican vote because of her questionable judgment and association with a former President who was impeached.

Best regards

Obamvets.com

I think Hillary Clinton would be a decent President.

I think Barack Obama would be a better one.

I don't buy the notion that she's much more experienced than he is. He's been a legislator for longer -- and state legislators deal with a lot of the same issues as US Congress.

She has a couple of exta years as a Senator. And she was First Lady. I don't see anybody claiming that this qualifies Laura Bush to be President. And, the major thing she tried to do as first lady was a failure. Some say that this failed because of her leadership style. Well, maybe.

Limited foreign policy experience didn't seem to hurt Bill Clinton and extensive experience didn't seem to help Bush I, Rumsfeld or Cheney.

And that brings me to my point. This position is more about judgment than experience. And, judgment is about intellect and openness. I see Obama as being smarter than Clinton and having a better temperament.

Obama, by virtue of his intellect, temperament and diverse personal background, has a chance to be a transformative President in a positive way. I don't see Clinton as matching up, even though I'll vote for her if she's the nominee.

McCain? The biggest flip flopper around. That makes a lot of sense LOL BTW Hillary also voted to fund the war is making more tha McCain on war contracts.

Mrs. Clinton has never faced the "red-phone" crisis. If she had, she would site a specific instance and how she responded. Regardless, if the phone rang, I assure you: Bill Clinton, the president, went to meet with his advisors. I do not disregard her efforts and projects as first-lady, but I find her co-opting of the Clinton presidency horribly misleading.

But I'm really more concerned with her tactics. In the most telling way, they indicate how someone will govern the people. Since 2003, Bush has hung the threat of another 9-11, real or imagined, over our heads. Now it seems Mrs. Clinton has decided to take the low road and use the same fear to "scare-up" desperately needed votes. Her fear, until recently, has taken on a more decidedly divisive tone, however. Fear of one's enemy is one thing. Fear of your fellow citizen is a little different.

From the moment she used the "Kindergarten Paper" in Dec. '07 to try to (ironically) make Obama look like a megalomaniac, she lost my vote. The best way to lose a devoted fan (other than to start behaving like a entitled, victimized child) is to turn to fear-mongering and personal attacks. I am appalled by the way her campaign has been using everything BUT Obama's stance on the issues to attack him. She consistently attempts the old "fear of something different" tactics. The latest: The picture of Obama in Somali garb. Her campaign still hasn't officially denied circulating it, but it was the response that was sinister:

"If Barack Obama's campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed."

The tactic: appeal to the basest of fear-response in the masses (black man, muslim-sounding name, Farrakhan endorsement), let it stew for a day without response, then turn the blame on your opponent. Has anyone read Machiavelli's 'The Prince'? She has certainly become "the great hypocrite and dissembler". And to her haters: whether or not she always was this nefarious is irrelevant to me. All that matters is that she has certainly shown her colors these past months.

I'll take "change" over this behavior. Say what you want about him, but Obama attacks on the ISSUES. He's not drumming up crazy PMS stories to scare-up male votes, or criticizing her tears, or even going after her past legal controversies. He presents himself as a mature, fair-play kind of leader--and it speaks volumes. He's not perfect, no he's not the messiah--but he battles like a great leader, and Mrs. Clinton decidedly does not.

For the voters who are wary of Obama due to his "lack of experience" and "talk about hope and change", I can only respond with Bill Clinton's own words. And remind you that Bill Clinton was 46 yrs. old when he took office as president. Barack Obama will be 47.

"Now, one of Clinton's laws of politics is this. If one candidate is trying to scare you and the other one is try get you to think, if one candidate is appealing to your fears and the other one is appealing to your hopes, you better vote for the person who wants you to think and hope." --Bill Clinton

Jacksmith,
Calling me an idiot is the fastest way to get me to not vote for the Democrats if Hillary Clinton happens to be the nominee. Good work.

It is not in the best interest of democrats to divide themselves into Clinton and Obama camps. Given the dire state of democracy in America, we will be lucky if either ship makes the shore.

Hillary at the debate in Austin, Texas: "I am honored to be here with Barack Obama. I am absolutely honored,” Clinton said in her closing, before reaching over to accept a handshake from him. “Whatever happens, we’re going to be fine."

Enough said.

It's very ironic to me that the Obama campaign is pretty much the same campaign Bill Clinton ran in '92. The perceived lack of foreign policy experience was a theme that Bill Clinton was fighting off back then and now his wife is using that same argument to try to take down her opponent. It didn't seem to work against her husband. It doesn't seem to be working against Obama.

I agree with you, Chem--this isn't pretty for the Democratic party.

I of course will vote in the presidential elections based on the issues. But when Clinton (who I have supported until Dec.) not only implies that I am an uninformed zealot for supporting Obama, but consistently hints at lawsuits contesting the rules of the Democratic Party primaries she herself agreed to before the campaign (I might add that the Texas system has been in place for decades), how do I get behind her if she gets the nomination? How does the party get behind her? She has set herself well above the party in challenging them the minute things aren't going her way. I see a pattern of blame and deflection that could be horribly detrimental to this country, let alone the Democratic Party.

monday morning toni rezko goes on trial, you know, obamas contributing buddy and neighbor in chicago.this the man that would be preident of the united states of america ? even ruch limblab says vote for hillary..thats a fact... i believe there is alot of patriotism in the great state of texas... dont forget what michelle obama said about being proud for THE FIRST TIME !and the rest of you states that havent voted yet, obamas going down before your voting day gets here. hes been on a surge, no doubt, but its over.

Hillary has been playing the FEAR card since NH.
Keith Olbermann called her on it. No self respecting democrat can vote for her when using Karl Rove's playbook. See Keith Olbermann of Countdown catch her republican campaign topic

To suggest that Obama has no other experience than his 2002 speech is a blatant lie. For all of those who believe what HRC says, look up the Lugar-Obama legislation.

Hillary is very desperate when she doesn't engage in an honest discussion of differences, but tries to paint her opponent has offering only words. An analysis of his campaign speeches shows that he offers as many specifics, if not more, than her.

That ad of hers is laughable. It's 3 a.m. and your president has her make-up on and is wearing her new reading glasses, ready to answer that red phone. All of her advisors and husband Bill are asleep and she is watching over our nation. You better watch out...she sees you when you're sleeping, she knows when you're awake, she knows when you've been bad or good...GIVE THIS COUNTRY A BREAK.

What's the point of all of this bickering on here? How many of you are going to chance your mind? Most of you have probably already voted. You spend so much time coming up with ways to zing those who support one or the other Dem candidates, when (if you all are as smart as you seem to think you are) you've all already made up your minds. It's obvious that no one here wants to talk about holding whichever candidate is elected accountable for what they're promising now on the campaign trail. You're too busy screaming back and forth this stupid experience versus inspiration BS that the campaigns and brain dead national media have whipped up into a firestorm. I'm not sure which is more annoying. You guys are the reason we get such pitiful campaign coverage. Both sides are fully convinced that the media is in bed with the other side. When this is over you'll all think the media is on McCain's side and they'll all say the opposite. Seriously, you need to raise the bar. We all know the arguments being made by the two candidates. They're called campaign messages. They're just that and nothing else. Stop slurping up all of this spoon-fed BS and think for yourselves.

Today's bleat from the Clinton campaign–-this time from Hillary mega-contributor Walter Shorenstein, founder of the Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, who claims that HRC is losing because the media is biased against her–-tells me two things.

First, that there is a cultural commonality of victimhood that unites Clintonites–they are never responsible for their failures, their mistakes, or their lies, ever (”not one time,” as Bill would, and did, say).

Second, that the media is actually bending over (and not necessarily backwards), to accomodate this kind of bullroar in order to placate the fading bulls of the Democratic establishment.

Maybe real estate developer Shorenstein should remember the words of broastcast legend Edward R. Murrow:

“We cannot make good news out of bad practice.”

You cannot make good news with a bad candidate either.

Hillary needs to be out of this race--today. Or, at the very latest, on March 4th. She's a drag on the party, and she's attacking the Democratic nominee. At this point, she's a destructive force.

YOU MIGHT BE AN IDIOT:-)
If you think Hillary Clinton with 16 years experience as the first Lady of Arkansas and the US coupled with 7 years on the Board at Wal-Mart and the law firm that gave us Whitewater would be better than Barack Obama with 10 years of legislative experience,10 years as a constitutional law professor at University of Chicago and 4 years as a community activist and organizer who worked directly the people.
You Might Be An Idiot!
If you think that Clinton with no experience Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) led the greatest economic expansion, and prosperity in American history by capitalizing on the Regan tax cuts and the internet bubble.can fix an economy on the verge of collapse better than Obama.

"Now one of Clinton's laws of politics is this: If one candidate's trying to scare you and the other one's trying to get you to think, if one candidate's appealing to your fears and the other one's appealing to your hopes, you better vote for the person who wants you to think and hope."
-Bill Clinton, 2004

It’s not a fear card, it is reality. Remember 9/11/2001? Or are all the Obamaites too young to remember.
War in Iraq, war in Afghanistan, war between Israel and Palestinians, unrest in Africa, change of guard in Russia, change of guard in Cuba, unstable Pakistan, and God only knows what is going on in China, North Korea, India and Iran… to name just a few global issues.
By the way, any comparison between the 1990’s (Bill Clinton era) and 2008 is moot –global politics have changed and we are living in more dangerous times – sorry for the bad news, but those are the facts, not Obamaland.
Hillary has visited Iraq at least 3 times and Obama just once (too busy campaigning just like the zero meetings he convened for the Foreign Relations Committee he is supposed to chair). Since he has been touting the importance of the war in Afghanistan, can someone tell me (with a citation please) whether he has been to Afghanistan?

Well, if Hillary can't run a campaign worth a damn then why should we trust her decision making on the economy.
Hillary voted for a war that should have never been waged, so she can't be trusted on National defense. So why should she be President?

I agree with Hillary. We need a Commander-in Chief not a pansy dude in the White House. I'm a recently retired soldier and Obama's anti-war crap sickens me. We must have a mixture of diplomacy and military might, not a policy of meeting with dictators. He is a dangerous person who's ideas are formed from hanging out with too many radicals.

Clinton should respond to the reports that she badgered and impugned a 12 year old rape victim in 1975 when she was a lawyer. According to documents, she alleged the 12 year old CHILD had fantasized about older men, therefore it was okay for the 41 year old pedophile (Clinton's client) to MOLEST and RAPE her.

SHAME ON YOU, HYPOCRITE HILLARY!!!!!!!!

Please read this:

"I found this story about a case where Hillary used her knowledge of child abuse to get a man off of rape charges to be very sad and disturbing. Of course, it was her job as a lawyer to provide a competent defense, but it seems like she may have crossed a line by aggressively attacking the 12-year-old girl"s character.

http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/ny-usark245589997feb24,0,2670956.story

She seems to have carried that tactic with her when she actively participated in smear campaigns against the credibility of the victims of her husband"s harassment, even after he was caught lying under oath in a court of law. Making women terrified to report sexual harassment out of fear of being publicly humiliated and having their careers destroyed is a terrible role model for women, as is attacking the character of 12-year-old rape victims.

MARTIN EDWIN ANDERSEN,

You sound like a victim posting this everywhere. Strange too considering Michelle thinks her husband is the victim unless he's elected.

I agree with Hillary. We need a Commander-in Chief not a pansy dude in the White House. I'm a recently retired soldier and Obama's anti-war crap sickens me. We must have a mixture of diplomacy and military might, not a policy of meeting with dictators. He is a dangerous person who's ideas are formed from hanging out with too many radicals.

jacksmith,

YOU might be an idiot for giving Hillary credit for the things Bill accomplished while in office. What do you base that on? where all those things you mention her idea? does she get credit by osmosis? where is all the experience she has? because she was first lady? how many decisions did she actually make for her husband? how many years has she been a Senator? and before that, how many years of experience did she have holding public office?
List her accomplishments if you have them. dont list Bill's accomplishments as hers. they are not.

It is discouraging to watch the campaign rhetoric emplolyed by the Clintons. Talk about straight out the republican playbook. If you want to talk about empty promises and and shallow words take a ride through Central New York. During Clinton’s 2000 Senatorial campaign, she promised to uplift our struggling economy in Central New York and to rebuild our infrastructure. However, each day as I drive to and from work, I see declining neighborhoods, crumbling buildings, rusted bridges and abandoned factories. Once magnificent houses, now vacant and beyond rehabilitation, are being torn and removed from the tax roles. Weeds struggle to hide the rubble that is left. In her campaign rhetoric, Ms. Clinton promised many solutions. She offered a three-point plan for all of our problems. Upstate New York, she said would be her priority. It is evident that her promised solutions were shallow and empty. Words should matter, hers do not.

Go Obama

You might be an idiot if you count first lady and corporate lawyer and boardmember of Wal-Mart as 35 years of experience and 20 years of public interest, civil rights work, community organizing, and constitutional law professorship, and 8 years in the Illinois Legislature as no experience.

I am curious....why is Obama'a voting record, once arriving in the senate, supportive of the war? He could have easily voted against funding simply based on principal, which would not have affected the legislation, thereby remaining steadfast in his position against the war. Instead, he chose to be on the right side, politcally, which, in my opinion, is "politics as usual". Uh oh, he's not like every other politician, is he?? He will have to come up with some better defense than that 2002 speech against the republicans because the "i was against this war from the start" strategy is getting old. Oh, and this judgement he keeps touting? Would that be the same judgement he used when he entered into that suspicious land deal with Tony Rezko's wife? Just curious.

Resume' for the next President (God Help Us).....

Hillary Clinton has been telling America that she is the most qualified candidate for president based on her 'record,' which she says includes her eight years in the White House as First Lady - or 'co-president' - and her seven years in the Senate. Here is a reminder of what that record includes: - As First Lady, Hillary assumed authority over Health Care Reform, a process that cost the taxpayers over $13 million. She told both Bill Bradley and Patrick Moynihan, key votes needed to pass her legislation, that she would 'demonize' anyone who opposed it. But it was opposed; she couldn't even get it to a vote in a Congress controlled by her own party. (And in the next election, her party lost control of both the House and Senate.)

Hillary assumed authority over selecting a female Attorney General. Her first two recommendations, Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood, were forced to withdraw their names from consideration. She then chose Janet Reno. Janet Reno has since been described by Bill himself as 'my worst mistake.' - Hillary recommended Lani Guanier for head of the Civil Rights Commission. When Guanier's radical views became known, her name had to be withdrawn.

Hillary recommended her former law partners, Web Hubbell, Vince Foster, and William Kennedy for positions in the Justice Department, White House staff, and the Treasury, respectively. Hubbell was later imprisoned, Foster committed suicide, and Kennedy was forced to resign.

Hillary also recommended a close friend of the Clintons, Craig Livingstone, for the position of director of White House security. When Livingstone was investigated for the improper access of up to 900 FBI files of Clinton enemies (“Filegate”) and the widespread use of drugs by White House staff, both Hillary and her husband denied knowing him. FBI agent Dennis Sculimbrene confirmed in a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in 1996, both the drug use and Hillary's involvement in hiring Livingstone. After that, the FBI closed its White House Liaison Office, after serving seven presidents for over thirty years.

In order to open “slots” in the White House for her friends the Thomasons (to whom millions of dollars in travel contracts could be awarded), Hillary had the entire staff of the White House Travel Office fired; they were reported to the FBI for 'gross mismanagement' and their reputations ruined. After a thirty-month investigation, only one, Billy Dale, was charged with a crime - mixing personal money with White House funds when he cashed checks. The jury acquitted him in less than two hours.

Another of Hillary's assumed duties was directing the 'bimbo eruption squad' and scandal defense: ---- She urged her husband not to settle the Paula Jones lawsuit. ---- She refused to release the Whitewater documents, which led to the appointment of Ken Starr as Special Prosecutor. After $80 million dollars of taxpayer money was spent, Starr's investigation led to Monica Lewinsky, which led to Bill lying about and later admitting his affairs. ---- Then they had to settle with Paula Jones after all. ---- And Bill lost his law license for lying to the grand jury ---- And Bill was impeached by the House. ---- And Hillary almost got herself indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice (she avoided it mostly because she repeated, 'I do not recall,' 'I have no recollection,' and 'I don't know' 56 times under oath). - Hillary wrote 'It Takes a Village,' demonstrating her Socialist viewpoint.

Hillary decided to seek election to the Senate in a state she had never lived in. Her husband pardoned FALN terrorists in order to get Latino support and the New Square Hassidim to get Jewish support. Hillary also had Bill pardon her brother's clients, for a small fee, to get financial support. - Then Hillary left the White House, but later had to return $200,000 in White House furniture, china, and artwork she had stolen. - In the campaign for the Senate, Hillary played the 'woman card' by portraying her opponent (Lazio) as a bully picking on her. - Hillary's husband further protected her by asking the National Archives to withhold from the public until 2012 many records of their time in the White House, including much of Hillary's correspondence and her calendars. (There are ongoing lawsuits to force the release of those records.)

As the junior Senator from New York, Hillary has passed no major legislation. She has deferred to the senior Senator (Schumer) to tend to the needs of New Yorkers, even on the hot issue of medical problems of workers involved in the cleanup of Ground Zero after 9/11. - Hillary's one notable vote; supporting the plan to invade Iraq, she has since disavowed.

Quite a resume’. Sounds more like an organized crime family’s rap sheet.

When the phone in the White House rings at 3 a.m., which Hillary would answer? Tearful Hillary, laughing Hillary, satirical Hillary, angry Hillary, passionate Hillary, healthcare Hillary, soldier Hillary, snarky Hillary, or just plain loony Hillary?

"...He could have easily voted against funding simply based on principal, which would not have affected the legislation, thereby remaining steadfast in his position against the war. Instead, he chose to be on the right side, politcally, which, in my opinion, is 'politics as usual'. Uh oh, he's not like every other politician, is he??"

Nope, at least not like Hillary...one way you can look at it: Once in "the ditch" he didn't want any of the rescuers, ie soldiers, getting hurt, for lack of ditch-digging materiels, while attempting to extricate the "bus."

The "bus," by the way, Hillary helped navigate into the ditch, in the first place.

Hilliary had a chance and she blew it. When the time came for her to put that experience she claims to have to use, she made the wrong choice. She voted for this war and that showed lack of good judgment.

"When the phone in the White House rings at 3 a.m., which Hillary would answer? Tearful Hillary, laughing Hillary, satirical Hillary, angry Hillary, passionate Hillary, healthcare Hillary, soldier Hillary, snarky Hillary, or just plain loony Hillary?."

LOL! Great point!

I know what the call for Hillary at 3:00 am will be. Do you know where your husband is?

At 3:00 in the morning Hillary is wearing lipstick and a necklace...

She lost because she treats us like idiots. She thinks she can scare people into voting for her. Pathetic...

Good point. It was going to pass anyway. He could have voted against the funding. He must have realized that once you are elected to that office it's a lot harder to make speeches when you have to make decisions.

When the red phone rings in the White House at 3 a.m., Michelle will be answering the phone. "How dare call my house at this hour!!"

"Sen. Clinton is right when she says she's been tested on national security, but it's a test she has resoundingly failed,” Burton said in a statement.

She's an analyst dream come true. The woman has lost it. Very sad to see how low she has sunk. Winning at all cost. I thought that was exclusively the domain of corrupt republicans, like George Bush and Jim Oberweis. Truely pathetic.

Almost as pathetic as Jim Oberweis...almost.

Elect Bill Foster.

Obama 2008.

The woman is desperate.

I have never seen a presidential candidate with more personalities than Hillary Clinton. During the past few weeks we have seen the passionate Hillary, the crying Hillary, the mocking Hillary, the angry Hillary and the misleading Hillary. Can someone tell me which of these Hillarie’s is going to answer the phone at 3 am in the morning when the world is in crisis? What experience in foreign affairs and national security does Hillary Clinton really have? Do the eight years during her husband’s presidency qualify her to call herself the most experienced candidate? Each time she mentions her record during the Clinton White House is she telling us that she participated in every decision her husband made? Is her campaign based on name recognition? We can assume than, that if Laura Bush ever decides to run for office, she also has at least eight years of experience in national security by osmosis. Just because she is married to George Bush. Why can’t Hillary show the American people who she really is, what she knows and how experienced she is without nastily attacking her opponent? Does she really need to attack her opponent in order to prove that she is the most qualified candidate? Do such sophomoric actions only uncover feelings of insecurity? Does she think the American people are so uneducated that they are not going to compare her record to her opponents and make a wise decision?
What I see is a desperate Hillary that would say and do anything in order to win the nomination. A true Democrat would put the party first before her personal ambitions. Every attack she directs toward Obama is eventually going to be used against him by the Republicans should he become the nominee. She thought she would be the Democratic nominee after Super Tuesday. Instead she found herself in a race that is not exactly going her way. How arrogant can you be to think that you and only you deserve the presidency? If the way she is behaving and running her campaign is any reflection of her actions in the Oval Office, than America is in trouble.

What is the 35 years experience Hillary is talking about? Looking over her husband's shoulder while he signs NAFTA? Hillary's been what for 35 years? A lawyer? An investor? A politician's wife? What?

A question. If Cindy McCain ran for president, could she claim all her years as John McCain's wife as political experience? Could she claim it just as Hillary seems to have done? Can Laura Bush run for office now because of all her years experience as Bush's wife?
Yes, Hillary has experience as an elected official, but it's preposterous to claim 35 years under her belt.

Kudos to mlk. If 8 years as first lady of Arkansas and 8 more years as first lady in the White House were that important, then where is the Republican dream team of Nancy Reagan and Laura Bush?

Sen. Obama doesn't have to play this cheap s... Too bad for Sen. Clinton. This election will prove whether America is predominantly sexist, racist, or lazy.

Obama Illinois resume...100+ missed vote.

Obama 1st year Senate term...1)unfinished and again missing key votes 2) never had one meeting on Afganistan as comitte chairperson

I guess he was "too" busy writing PPS - plagarized pretty speeches.

God Help us. American deserves another 4 years of Bush's inexperienced presidenty if Obama is the democratic nominee.

Make you vote count, Hillay 08!

Don't we all have a warm ,secure feeling, since our foes and terrorist are being fought far away from us, in the mountains of Afghanistan and in Iraq. Some of the americans can't even point those countries out on the map. Far away and out of sight. And the fight is shown to us like an exciting movie on CNN and other channels. The caskets , coming to or shores, are unloaded from the planes late at night in darkness and driven to the burials.
9/11 was a one time thing, and our security is so efficient that it just won't happen again. Besides if we handle those insurgents right and talk to them person to person, they will understand us , agree with us, or at least go away. Pear Harbor, and 9/11 and other attacks on us, are far away and behind us. As long as we have a Prophet that knows how to negotiate everything will be just lovely.

"I have never seen a presidential candidate with more personalities than Hillary Clinton. During the past few weeks we have seen the passionate Hillary, the crying Hillary, the mocking Hillary, the angry Hillary and the misleading Hillary."

Maybe the problem is that you're paying attention to superficialities. I know Obama is all image, so the habit is hard to break, but try to look behind to the substance of what is being said when she's showing sorrow, passion, challenge, creativity, wit.

"What I see is a desperate Hillary that would say and do anything in order to win the nomination. A true Democrat would put the party first before her personal ambitions."

Look I'm sure the ObamaWhack$ don't want Hillary to hand over him his win, again. WE all know about that "land slide" win in Chicago. If Obama really cared about the Democratic party he could have backed out when he saw the lead she held in the polls. He didn't have to run to disengage, split, the party to later have to unite it. Especially in times like these. Yet, he did.

I don't know maybe my lame Democrats fail to recognize that this is a race, a very close race in terms of delegates. Maybe they fail to notice what that would look like if she just "took one for the party." That our may the best man/woman win and everyone can run comes second to institution. Kinda Republican Lockstep. Even though we do it too. Maybe it would look like even our own party is involved in hedging race and gender, and in an unprecedented race like this, to decide to make a call, even to save the party, that would unintentionally look, in the history books, like a call was made on race and gender. There is a reason why Edwards has not endorsed one or the other. Yet. Because Edwards and the DNC is fully aware that in an unprecedented race it is best for both candidates to have the opportunity to duke it out amongst themselves, and they should.

Unfortunately for Hillary, the thought of Obama making the big decisions isn't that scary. Maybe if there is a crisis, he'll ask his VP- Chris Dodd- for advice, or call one of his buddies like Joe Biden, Ted Sorenson, or Ted Kennedy. I'd prefer that to the Clinton 'Check a poll' technique.

Obama passed a law to find and destroy all loose nukes in the area (as senator) that were out there due to the collapse of the Soviets. The guy is on it.

Pay attention to the facts. If the best you have is that his name is different from the average name , ie Bill , George, Hillary, John...then good for us...we're finally waking up to the inevitable...that diversity can't be quelled.

Just in case anyone has forgotten:

1) Hillary still won’t release her tax returns.
2) Hillary repeatedly denies knowing what BET’s Johnson meant with his innuendos, but then later apologizes for his remarks.
3) Hillary plays the race card by belittling Dr. King’s accomplishments and stating that Lyndon Johnson did more for the Civil Rights cause than King did.
4) Cynically explains away her loss in S.C. saying, “Jesse Jackson won South Carolina, too.” Actually Bill gets credit for that one.
5) Threatens to sue Texas over it’s primary system.
6) Says she never praised NAFTA even though she did so in her own memoir.
7) Demands that Michigan and Florida delegates be counted even though she agreed that they should not and her name was the only one on the Michigan ballot.
8) Hillary cries TWICE. Both times conveniently the day before a big primary.
9) Releases a “Fearmongering” ad about keeping our children safe.
10) Releases a picture of Obama in traditional African garb to Drudge then denies it.
11) Literally runs her campaign into the ground financially and has to loan it 5 million.
12) Is currently being tried for fraud in Los Angeles.
13) Said that caucus states are unfair to women and that’s why she loses them.
14) Fakes getting angry about mailers two weeks after they were released. “Shame on you, Obaaama!!!” Ucch.
15) Cheap shots Obama with Xerox line then steals Edwards closing remarks in the same debate in Texas.
16) Plays the “woman card” during the last debate in Ohio saying it would be great to have a woman in the White House.
17) Embarrasses herself mocking Obama in a campaign rally. "The skies will open..." Ucch.
18) “Obama is a fairytale,” line. Actually Bill gets credit for that one, too.
19) “See? Obama loves Ronald Reagan! He just said so!” Not.
20) Complains about getting first debate questions and references SNL during a national debate when complaining about media bias.
21) Reject vs. Denounce tantrum.
22) Kept a 170,000 check from a corporation that has been on trial for years regarding over 100 sexual harassment complaints.
23) Now says that if Obama does not sweep all four states on Tuesday than something is wrong with his campaign.
24) And finally, Hillary STILL STILL won’t release her tax returns.

how is it that people can belittle Obama for having little experience, but fail to acknowledge how little national or forgiegn policy experience a certain govenor from Arkansas had when he took office?

Someone said above that when Clinton attacks Obama "truthfully" they all say she is "desperate."

That is blatantly false
Clinton's ads attack Obama's lack of experience (fine, her right), but they say nothing truthful, meaningful, or convincing about her own. What does he mean "she already knows the world's leaders." That she met world leaders in 92-80 in ceremonial settings; that she's banking on the experience and knowledge of her husband? (Doesn't sound like a level playing field to me). I wouldn't trust her to pick up a phone at 3am and make a reasoned judgment; she'd be so worried about appearing tough, worried about what others would say about her, that she might just go for the quick "tough" answer, without thinking ahead. That's what she did with Iraq; she didn't even read the Iraq Intelligence Estimate before the vote! That's what she did with the vote on Iran.

Of course, she has every right to question Obama's limited experience, but she should have a truthful, open, transparent way of making the case for her own.

For a comparison of their Senate records, including on foreign affairs, national security, see

Very good question. She still seems like a hillbilly to me. I guess I won't be encouraging my daughter to attend Welsley.

Harvard it is. Speaking of talk, man the straight talk express sure is the little OLD engine that can't. Endless war. Now that's change we can believe in.

Obama 2008

The message of Clinton is about Clinton herself...and attacking Obama personally will not help her.
She also made big claims that is not accurate. Her attack last week on Obama and the language she used against Obama made her look as un presidential 'Shame on you, Shame on you...' she is now starting the scare & fear ads.,she did not asnwer fully why she voted for this war in Iraq. She claims 35 years experience etc. etc. She will not get my vote.

It's amazing how Hillary likes to spin the "superiority" of her health care plan. I live in Massachusetts. We have Hillary's plan. It was signed into law by Mitt Romney. He was more than happy to do so. It mandates compulsory coverage for everyone in the state. The estimate for the subsidized care aspect of the plan was woefully inadequate. Applications for the subsidiy are at least double the original estimate and it continues to climb. Immediately after its passage insurres increased premiums because there was no competition. My premium went up 19%. Rather than garnish wages as Hillary has threatened to do for noncompliance with her plan, Massachusetts simply penalizes residents by elimating the personal exemption on their state income taxes. This of course does little or nothing to recoup the expense of subsidized care. We'll see that when the state is forced to raise taxes. Since the state of Texas has no state income tax, if you had Hillary's plan it would be garnished from your wages. If you don't understand this down in the Lone Star state, let me put it this way. Hillary's the "Hat". And you're the "cattle".

You might be an idiot if you steal a worn-out comic device from a real comedian to make specious claims...

...and your handle might well be jacksmith.

“He (McCain) will put forth his lifetime of experience. I will put forth my lifetime of experience. Sen. Obama will put forth a speech he made in 2002,” she told reporters aboard her plane.

Um, yeah. She must have failed math--because in the early years, she supported Goldwater. She has been in the Senate since 2001, okay, fair enough. But as first lady, the only thing she presided over was the healthcare debacle--a fight she might have won if she hadn't frozen out and derided others in the Democratic party, such as Sen. Cooper. But those are just facts, apocryphal nonsense is so much easier to toss around...

Hillary needs to use lies, half truths, and fear to get votes.

BTW- Lincoln didn't have much experience, nether did Washington and they both did pretty well.

Hillary's 35 experience is questionable. She is now around 60 years of age. That means she counted every year of her life since age 25 as a presidential experience.
She praised NAFTA and described NAFTA as one of her husband's big achievments, and that's part of her 35 years experience..but when she was debating Obama, she distanced herself from NAFTA because NAFTA is now unpopular in Ohio.
She voted for the war in Iraq, then when the war became unpopular, now she is giving fuzzy explanations which lacks forwardness and clarity about her crucial vote.
She has 7 years experience as a legistlative Senator, and Obama has about 18 years of legistlative experience. She cannot include her husbands service as hers on her resume',but when some of her husbands policies are criticised like in the case of NAFTA..she claims she was not the president, and she was agaisnt it...!!
Now comes the fear factor dishing these ads on television to scare us. A Rovian tactics, which she accused Obama of using.
Bush,Sr. in IOWA used the W.House 'phone' against Bill Clinton, Walter Mondale used the 'Phone' agaisnt Gary Hart, and now Hillary is using the 'White House phone' against Obama. People wants change..Hillary and McCain are made from the same material..old shrewd politicians who will do anything to win..something Americans are already tired of.

"It’s not a fear card, it is reality. Remember 9/11/2001? Or are all the Obamaites too young to remember."

Ugh, this is the patronizing tone that HRC supporters have that is driving me away from the Democratic Party. My plan was to vote on the issues for this election, but now that HRC has reduced the campaign to shallow fearmongering, now that HRC has sold out her status as a minority through her cynical and hypocritical use of Obama's race as lever point in the campaign, now that HRC has reminded me of the terrible tone of our country during the 90s when BJC was in office (a time whe, I, an Obama support voted for BRC), I'm starting to amaze myself b/c Nader isn't looking like a bad choice.

Hillary Clinton doesn't just automatically get my vote b/c she's a Democrat and b/c I don't support GOP policies. And, her strident supporters would be smart to stop playing the Mom and Dad role to anyone who supports Obama. MAKE ME WANT TO VOTE FOR HER! Ppl like Jacksmith etc. are just making me hate her campaign, as well as the possibility of four or eight years of hearing her, and her staff, belittle anyone who disagrees with them is starting to make my blood run cold.

Good job, HRC supporters, and HRC: your cynical, negative, patronizing campaign strategy is doing a great job of driving me from the party. Awesome stuff, guys.

If Hillary thinks she is so experienced, when has she had to answer a red phone call like that?

http://hotlineblog.nationaljournal.com/archives/2008/02/pregnant_pause.html

Hillary is so much action. Listen to her chief strategist trying to find a time Hillary has been demanded to act in a foreign policy crisis:

http://hotlineblog.nationaljournal.com/archives/2008/02/pregnant_pause.html

You might be an idiot

If you think that Hillary Clinton has any real experience that makes her more qualified to lead this country.

You might be an idiot

If you think the poor planning and cash maagement of this campaign isn't a sign of an overall pattern of bad decision making and a flawed belief system.

You might be an idiot

If you think changing the message of a campaign multiple times in order to pander to voters as opposed to having a strong central message that has not changed significantly from day one is a sign of leadership.

You might be an idiot

If you think that someone who voted to give credit card companies the ability to charge 30% interest on balances, who supported a bill to make bankruptcy more difficult, and who has had no problem putting more power into the hands of corporations, is really looking out for the middle class.

You might be an idiot

To think that someone who agreed to the national committee's decision to unseat Florida & Michigan delegates, but is now crying foul because she's behind in the voting is somehow showing integrity.

You might be an idiot - or you just might have a different opionion from me.

That being said, Hillary Clinton would be an effective president, and, because she's neither w. or John McCain, one would think that our country would be better off. But, nothing of substance would change. We have an opportunity as a nation to change our culture from the one of fear that has gripped it for so long and turn it into one of hope that we can be better. I don't see what's so wrong or funny about that.

I remember 9/11 - can tell you exactly where I was when I heard the report, what I did that day, and, as I was gathered with many people from my community, I can remember feeling that the world had changed and not because of what happened but because I knew that the culture of fear was about to take hold and define, once again, the direction we'd head as a nation. It's time to change that direction.

Posted by: argyle | March 2, 2008 10:02 AM

Good job argyle, that's exactly why I have hated the Obama camp, YOU, from the BEGINNING. Save us the patronizing tone you've ALWAYS had, and deal with what YOU dished out.. "Obama voters are better. Why are are they deluding themselves about Hilary?" THAT WAS the TONE the grass roots movement set everywhere on the internet, even before his inexperience and race came into the picture. So just deal with the fall out. I know in the traditional sense everything is everybody else fault. EVERYTHING Hillary does is negative, and you people have not played a part in trowing Republican slime at her when boy wonder decided to run...not.

Speaking of 9/11, does anyone recall what country that 18 of the 19 hijackers were from? Iraq? Afghanistan? No, it was Saudi Arabia. So how and why are we mired in Iraq? Who is going to answer that phone? Not really the pertinent question, is it?

Who's on the other end of the line? Is it a Saudi Prince perhaps? Asking us to make sure that our relationship (OIL) is still solid and pointing us in the direction of a few other countries in the neighborhood that may be easily blamed if we paint the picture the way they say.

But...... you can keep pointing fingers at the experience levels of those left in this race, or the relationships with the World Banks, Haliburtons, Exxons etc. that they may have (how many degrees away - Pres. Bill Clinton? - $31 million dollar deal?)

TEXAS...OHIO...Here's What HILLARY'S 'Mandated' Health Care Plan
FEELS LIke
From A http://www.Blacks4Barack.org Commenter

As a Massachusetts single parent, 2 job holding resident, I wish reporters and interested parties would ask Mitt Romney, our former Governor, about his mandated health insurance plan for all Massachusetts residents he left us with. Ask democrats, republicans and independent voters what we think about this plan. This is the same plan that Hillary wants to adopt. Please do yourself a favor and ask the Massachusetts residents how it feels to no longer have a choice about putting food on the table, because YOU MUST, pay for a premium you can't afford. Ask MA residents how LONG it takes them to get a visit with their PCP (Primary Care Physicians). Ask the MA seniors about their medicine vs health care premium. I can go on, but please ask the questions. Also note that Mitt Romney never gives credit or much talk to his governorship here in Massachusetts, because he KNOWS that Massachusetts RESIDENTS think he is a scam. Mandated health care IS NOT a good plan...TRUST ME, and the rest of the MA residents who can vouch this.
Barack has the better plan.
