Clinton camp backpedals from Ken Starr-Obama tie: The Swamp

The Swamp

by Rick Pearson

HATTIESBURG, Miss. — In the aftermath of the resignation of Samantha Powers, a top foreign affairs advisor to Sen. Barack Obama, for calling Sen. Hillary Clinton a “monster,” the Clinton team may also have tripped themselves up.

During a conference call with reporters, Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson tried to explain his Thursday accusation that Obama’s campaign was using Ken Starr-like tactics against the New York senator was not comparable to Powers’ comments.

“Ours was a reaction to the Obama campaign’s attacks on Sen. Clinton post their losses in Ohio and Texas,” Wolfson said. “I did not refer, I did not say, that Sen. Obama was like Ken Starr and I think there is a difference between engaging in the kind of ad hominem personal attack on someone’s character that Samantha Power did and talking about the kind of campaign that Team Obama has been running since Ohio and Texas.”

But here is what Wolfson told reporters on the conference call yesterday:

"I for one do not believe that imitating Ken Starr is the way to win a Democratic primary election for president," Wolfson said

Wolfson’s comments have revealed an interesting strategy by the Clinton campaign to try to use him to criticize Obama without the candidate having to accept any responsibility for his words. For example, when Clinton was asked yesterday about Wolfson’s use of Starr to characterize her rival’s campaign, she succinctly said: “I’m not going to respond to that.”

I strongly belive reference to Ken starr by clinton group is accurate, Obama needs to get his group together before he loose focus

it seems like clinton's campaign is constantly undermining itself. let's bring up all the bad stuff from the 90s by just mentioning ken starr's name. people don't hear the simile, "OBAMA is LIKE ken starr." they just hear "KEN STARR," and then they think (especially if they're under 30 like me) "who was he again? i remember hearing that name." and then they read about whitewater and then think towards the even more famous scandals of the clinton administration. wolfson is a loose cannon, just like power. clinton should let him go not only for civility's sake but for her own.

but then, clinton is sabotaging the democratic party by linking herself to McCain and the scandals of the 90s. i don't see hillary clinton as a victim. i see her as the lion of the right wing democrats, the biggest influence in the DLC and as a representative of everything that's wrong with the democratic party (and ultimately, as an example of why any DLC candidate will lose against a moderate Republican like McCain).

the unification in november of the democratic party is looking less and less likely with each passing remark.

If Wolfson is not fired or resigned from the Clinton's campaign then it's just another evidence of how dirty and low her campaign is willing to go.

They are who we thought they were to quote Denis Green. The Clintons can't help themselves. Dirty tricks are obviously in their DNA. Hillary is splitting the party in two and will drive people like myself over to McCain should she win. Think about that one Super Delegates!!!

Calling for Hillary to release her and Bill's income tax statement is imitating "Ken Star"???

There is the possibility that some of Bill Clinton's influence peddling schemes border on being illegal. Therefore we (the voters) have the right to see his and Hillary's income tax statement before we are saddled with her as the Democratic nominee. Before Hillary and Bill Clinton can be allowed to re-occupy the Oval Office the voters have to know how the Clintons amassed a multi million dollar fortune since leaving the White House. Especially in view or the facts that Bill Clinton has peddled his influence in Kazakhstan for Canadian billionaire Frank Giustra for the country's uranium rights; He has , or had, a financial partnership with the Emir of Dubai and his buddy Ron Burkle; Bill Clinton has earned millions ‘consulting’ for InfoUSA, an Iowa company that is under investigation for creating telemarketing lists used to fleece the elderly out of their life’s savings.

The voters have a right to know who is paying their bills.

This is almost to funny.

The Hillary team got so carried away with throwing mud at Obama that they ended up throwing mud at themselves.

Yeah Hillary, let's talk about Ken Starr, shall we?

So Obama holds people accountable, and immediately dumps his adviser who made a stupid remark. Meanwhile Clinton doesn't respond, and probably tells Wolfson and Penn they're doing a "heckuva a job," privately. We've had 8 years of a President who doesn't hold people accountable for their actions. Enough is enough. Hillary Clinton=Democratic George W. Bush. Vote for Barack Obama!!!

As if Ken Starr (hired by the Clinton administration) is the one to blame for Clinton's perjury and other blatant? The guy was doing his job and Clinton made it easy.

You see... Clinton is a Monster

Riiiight. In other words, Clinton can smear Obama all she likes, but if the smear turns back on her, she's as innocent as a babe? The Starr reference gave the Clinton camp a bad smell. It's not going to wash off that easily.

The truth is that Hillary is acting like a monster( I perfer to call her a devil). The Clintons will do and say anything to achioeve and manitain power. I'm not usually a fan of democratic politics, but Barack Obama appears to be both a class individual and the best hope for the country going forward.

good lord... how can they actually say these things with a straight face?! their entire campaign, since they fell behind, has been horribly negative... and now they complain about one comment!?

how can people take her campaign seriously when they talk like this?

Love that Clinton brought up Ken Starr so people can remember the endless scandals that happened throughout the Clinton Presidency and setup W. Bush being elected. Do folks want more of this?

Obviously, Wolfson's comments are every bit as reprehensible as were those of Samantha Powers. What's more, Wolfson is a 'spokesman' for Hillary Clinton and so he is more accountable than Powers. Hillary Clinton, in not responding to Wolfson's comments, is accepting them as her own as opposed to repudiating them. This is another example of holding Obama and his campaign to a stricter standard than Clinton and hers.

Wow. "I'm not going to respond to that."

I wonder what would have happened if Samantha Powers had called Hillary Clinton a monster, and Barack Obama had simply stated, "I'm not going to respond to that."

I hope someone calls her out on that.

Here we go again. Revisit "Rewriting History" by Dick Morris. Read how the Clintons demonized Ken Starr. I urge everyone to read this book about the real Hillary Clinton.

Wolfson shoudl resign just as Powers had to do; it is a blatant doulbe standard that will only damage the Democratic Party as a whole. Stop this infighting and show me, the voter, how you will attack the issues.

Wolfson should resign now! The She Weasel should issue an apology inasmuch as Wolfson serves as her conduit of lies and slime.
In typical Clinton fashion, they depend on their toadies to spew the trash.
At least Obama got rid of Power with out pulling a Foster on her.

Clinton is using the same old triangulation strategy and failing to take responsibility for Wolfson's Ken Starr Comments. It's ironic that she has emphasized we need leadership that is accountable. She needs to hold her campaign and herself responsible for its message.

Let me get this straight, they think Obama is like Ken Starr because he called for Hillary to release LAST YEAR'S tax records, like he did long ago?

It's a legitmate request. What's she hiding?

Hillary said, "I'm not going to respond to that". By saying that, she is agreeing with Wolfson. What is this, Hillary, it's okay for you to throw your toilet with all your foul excrement at Mr. Obama (and his supporters and voters) but it's not okay for Mr. Obama to question your failure to release your tax records?? Ken Starr? He did his job, Hillary. But as is usual with you, you try and destroy those who cross your path. Both Hillary and Bill are power hungry SHARKS who will do and say anything, no matter how harmful, to gain power. You see, the Clintons are weak within themselves and the only thing that makes them feel empowered is that others give them Power.

An "interesting" strategy? From CBS News' opinion page today: "Clinton's path to the nomination is pretty repulsive." At least they have the guts to call this exactly what it is.

The Clinton campaign is correct to an extent in that it has been public in its characterization of Obama as: "just a speech in 2002" (implying a smoke screen lack of experience), "right out of the play book of" of Rove and Bush (implying unethical or even 'illegal' campaign strategy), followed by the 'shame on you' rhetoric (implying youth and lack of experience where the learned states person is forced to put you in your place), and the latest being Ken Starr's famous witch hunt. The actual statement that Obama "has no experience" is also in line with what appears to me to be very 'personal attacks.' They are now participating in DEMONIZATION of the character presented to the public of Obama. And it has taken them months ... of which Clinton's campaign has had very little public censoring of over the top characterizations. Obama's camp is now censored. And the reason that this is perhaps a true and good censor is that both camps are functioning from differing value systems and implied rules with the public. His approach has tended to being a gentleman and staying as much as he can above the fray - which is considered to represent the person of Obama. Certainly - at a public level - he appears to embody this. Power's comment of calling Clinton a "monster" then hangs like a sore thumb nail against this image. It is easy to point out the comment as contradictory to what has been established. Clinton's camp is running an acceptable negative campaign of a 'fighter' who is allowed to use every tactic. We've seen it, we have accepted. One can say then, that Power's comment may not have have at all been incorrect ... what was wrong is that she said it.

Backpedaling is not enough! Sadly today Barack Obama has lost a real professional worker in Samantha Power with her resignation, but she did what was right both for herself and more important Barack.

Now is the time for an apology from the Clinton campaign for the Ken Starr smear and unfortunately they must go, nothing less is acceptable.

We do often forget the World is watching this campaign, we are the ones so quick to critisize other countries for the way they run elections and there behavour. Samantha has shown high moral standards in her resignation, now it up to you Hilary?

The first thing that jumped into my mind when I heard the 'monster' comment was:
I'd like to know the not-scrubbed-for-media names that Wolfson, Ickes, Penn and Gruenwald are calling each other, let alone people in other campaigns....

An excellent move in this game of political chess, IF Obama can make a case of it. Sacrifice the knight and put her in a position to look bad if she does not remove one of her bishops. Nice.

Look, the "words" that were used by Samantha Powers... OMG!

"She's a Monster! ... that's off the record...etc, etc, etc. OMG!

I CAN'T BELIEVE OBAMA DIDN'T FIRE HER ASS! He let her resign. He doesn't even know how to handle a situation of this magnitude.

His campaign has told Canadian officials one thing and he tells the American People another...

Obama, you're right at home in Washington DC!

Change you can count on - Vote Hillary08

Let's keep the Democrat circus going. Both Hillary and Obama are acting like spoiled brats by using Republican bogeymen's names in their insults to smear the other. Evoking Ken Starr and Karl Rove in describing their respective opponents is supposed to be the worst insult one could deliver; the equivalent of an explative deleted. McCain is worried he will lose face time as the Democrat nominees knock themselves out hurling insults at one another. After a few weeks more of of the name calling, all McCain will have to do is show up and look Presidential. By comparison, he is going to look at lot better than the Democrat presidential clowns. I can't wait until the convention in Denver. If the super delegates over throw Obama if he has the delegate lead for Hillary, so much for the word "democrat" in the Democrat Party.

In fact, it is quite apparent to me that Mrs. Clinton's campaign strategies and tactics are intentional. My question is, subsequent to our children hearing and viewing these do-what-ever-it-takes-tactics, what kind of influence will be part of our children's character as they become adults? Will they emulate these immoral and unethical tactics? How come the media and all so-called responsible adults don't say anything. Surely your silent will be deemed as your approval. Thus, someday when this unethical and immoral behavior shows up in your very household, don't be surprised! Will the real adults please stand up!!!

Obviously... Clintons didn't take responsbility for Whitewater, for the 1993 healthcare fiasco and rise of Contract with America new GOP to power, for Chinese donations, or their perjury and "I do not recall"s (77 times) during the Monica Lewinsky and Paula Jones trials. Are we surprised or better yet are we prepared for another eight years of win-at-all-costs lies and politics?

Why bother. They'll just find something equally horrible to say about him tomorrow. That's Hillary game. Why on earth would anybody think this woman is competent?

Anyone but Hillary.

WOLFSON is history. Obama delegates should ask for his resignation within 24 hours or else the Ken Starr line of questioning of Clintons should begin.

If Ms. Powers had to resign for making derogatory personal remarks then Mr.Wolfson should also be made to resign.

That should be IT for Wolfson - he should be forced to resign. comparing Obama to Starr is the same as calling Clinton a monster. She should "denouce and reject" Wolfson's smear and call for his immediate resignation. But she's not going to do that. She hasn't got the integrity or the character. She's an old style Washington politician! Shame on her!

Obama campaign should force Wolfson in Clinton campaign to resign! And they haven't even been told to apologize! What pigs the Clinton campaign.

If anyone happened to see the program on Clinton over the weekend on MSNBC, it is very clear that the Hillary Clinton will do anything to stay in power. She sat on the Board of Directors of Walmart while that company marketed a false campaign of Made in America products to their customers and she has not releaed information on the Clinton Library or tax returns. It shouldn't surprise anyone that she will surround herself with like-minded strategists. Hillary

McCain, clinton,Huckebe and Obama all have CFR connection. You people sound like fools arguing which poisonous snake you would like to bite you.Any of these tools will make no difference and especially no change. The only candidate who would actually change anything is Ron Paul. But then the CFR controlled media tells you he cant win and you eat it up like its true for some reason. Then of course you bitch the media lies all the time.
For some reason I think all you libtards are going to be really surprised. You complain the diebold machines stole the elections for bush. And you close your eyes during this election and will start your bitchin after. You would think people were smart enough to realize the best candidates are the one's the media shuns. But then stupid sheople need someone to tell them what to feed their family too.Lazy fools.

Perhaps, Clinton would rather avoid releasing her tax documents rather than be up front about it. Could she be hiding something?

Yea Obama keeps asking for her taxes when she's already said they will be released April 15th which is a good 7 days before the most important upcoming primary. So what is his problem is what I want to know? I think Wolfson was correct when he compared it to Ken Starr. She has said she will release her taxes and given a specific date but yet he continues to ask for them. As for calling Hillary a monster---sounds like the pot calling the kettle black to me.

Does 'SEA HAG' count as a monster? Because I see her as sort of a 'SEA HAG' but I really don't put that into the 'Monster' category.
Hmmm... I could be wrong.

The pot calling the Kettle BLACK? What the hell are you getting at devil?

Clinton is a monster.

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama:

Dear Madam, and Sir,

A Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama ticket is what we want. And that is what we need to take back the Whitehouse. We want a smart, tough, idealistic, seasoned veteran of many battles fighting for the American people (Hillary Clinton). With a young, passionate, smart, open-minded, hard-working idealist fighting for the American people (Barrack Obama). The DREAM TEAM!

You are both fabulous candidates. And we, the American people are very fortunate to have each of you. Taking back the Whitehouse is critical for the American people, and the world at this time. And I think the American people have been saying loudly, and clearly that a Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama ticket is the best way to do this.

I think the American people have made it very clear that they feel Hillary Clinton is the one best able to lead the ticket against John McCain at this critical, and desperate time in America, and around the world. These dramatic comebacks are testament to Hillary Clinton's skill, and experience as a fighter for the American people. They are also a testament to the strong desire of the American people to have both of you fighting for the American people at this time of midnight in America.

Typical of the Clinton's is an uncanny ability to see and understand what the American people want. And then to try and get it for them. Even if they have to go through three political near death experiences to try and get it for the American people. This is classic Clinton's. They are the best I have ever seen.

We are desperate out here. Millions of us are suffering greatly. And tens of thousands of us are dying needlessly every year. Men, women, children, and babies. We need help! As Hillary Clinton said "It's not a game". We need the two of you together on our side fighting for us, and for the American dream for all. Not fighting against each other anymore.

It's time for you Senator Obama to join forces with Hillary Clinton as her running mate so that we can all focus our energies, and resources on taking back America for the American people.

Sincerely

Jacksmith...

"Ken Starr" tactics led to the Starr Report which helped lead to Bill's impeachment. Real smart on Wolfson's part, bringing that name up.

Senator Obama would be lax if he did NOT call for the Clinton's tax returns.

Yes, Hillary, we remember the days of Ken Starr.

HILLARY CLINTON...RELEASE YOUR WHITEHOUSE PAPERS...WHAT ARE YOU HIDING????
HILLARY CLINTON...RELEASE YOUR TAX RETURNS...WHAT ARE YOU HIDING?????

Dear JackSmith,

Senator Obama should NEVER be on a ticket with Hillary Clinton (unless she's the VP and maybe not then). She's got too much nasty baggage. By the time it was over he'd be covered in clinton lies, tricks, inuendo, misdeeds...etc. It's not worth it. Better let her have the nomination...lose to MCcain...keep his integrity intact for another day.

We want a smart, tough, idealistic, seasoned veteran of many battles fighting for the American people (Hillary Clinton).

What ARE YOU SMOKING???

First off correct me if I'm wrong but Barack Obama is leading the race.

LEADING!!!

Secondly, Hillary idealistic??? You must be high. She doesn't have an idealistic bone in her body. I mean listen to the trash she throws out there on a daily basis. She's a whack job!!! She sold any ideals she ever had down the river several weeks if not years ago. Get your head outta yer a$s jacksmith.

You might be an idiot if...

Well you know the rest. Lay off the crack pipe amigo. O.K. I worry about you. I'd miss having you here in The Swamp!

Powers had to resign because she states the obvious?! This is ridiculous. Whatever happened to freedom of speech???-

So what's this by Wolfson. Personal attack to Hillary is not allowed while smearing Ken Starr is OK? (It was Bill who lied. Remember?) He cannot even get the truth right, and Hillary said it is "fact". The only fact is that her husband lied and got caught. How low can this get? I think Wolfson should resign and Hillary should apologize. Power should not have apologized and Obama should stand by her. This is not the way to get rid of capable people. I give it a negative mark to Obama for not standing up to the principle.

Does 'SEA HAG' count as a monster? Because I see her as sort of a 'SEA HAG' but I really don't put that into the 'Monster' category.

SEA HAG IT IS!

Join force? Are you kidding? They don't mix. Can't you see?
"Witch hunt" by Ken Starr? Who lied and got caught? I think Hillary's negative campaigning will eventually hurt herself and the NDP as a whole. The damage is done!

Man the Hillary campaign is starting to turn into a stand up comedy act.

First Power called Hillary a monster and respectfully resigned, yet Wolfson gets away with comparing Obama with Ken Starr, and Hillary says "I'm not going to respond to that." And this comedy act began when Hillary said "Shame on You Obama!" when those mailers exposed her phoney baloney heathcare plan and linked his campaign to Karl Rove, yet here she is slinging mud at her opponent...

Yeah let's keep the Bush-Clinton dynasty going!! Hillary in 08, then after four years of destroying the country Jeb Bush in 2012, then Chelsea Clinton, Jenna Bush... we don't need change, just a change in the dynasty every four or eight years since it's the Bushs/Clinton's God given right to rule this country... Hillary's campaign is just stand up comedy, anyone who votes for this comedy act deserves what they get. At least Obama offers actual policy ideas, instead of just desperately slinging mud.

Something everyone should know is that Barack Obama has been the victim of a false e-mail "whispering campaign" that he is Muslim and does not say the Pledge of Allegiance. This has been proven false hundreds of times by newsweek, CNN and other reliable news outlets, and can be checked out on snopes.com and various other urban legend fact checking websites.

The Clinton and McCain campaigns have both been party to this slime by saying Obama's not been "vetted", by emphasizing his middle name, Hussein, and by saying that Obama's wife is not patriotic, thereby keeping the idea viable in the minds of susceptible voters. This country is better than that. Our founding documents declare that we must be better than that.

Obama is a committed Christian who speaks openly about accepting Christ into his life, and about the role our individual faiths have in the public domain. He taught Constitutional Law in Chicago, and introduced a bill in Illinois that required high school students to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in school. He's literally putting his life on the line to run for President because he loves this country and the promise it holds for Liberty and Justice for All.

I respect the rights of those who choose not to vote for Obama because of his policies, or simply because another candidate appeals more to their personal ideals. But this country deserves to know the truth, and those who would lie about a good person in order to seek office do not deserve the privilege of serving the people of this country.

One of the men on 60 minutes last Sunday said he liked Obama but was not sure about voting for someone with his "background". I wonder how many others have been fooled?

Even if you support another candidate you must view this kind of lying smear as immoral and harmful to our democracy. It's time to say "enough" to this kind of politics.

Ken Starr was to the legal profession, what Joseph Mengele was to the medical professsion.

As for that FBI-fabricated false-flag evidence he tried to hoist on us to rally yup the troops, you know ... his fishy blue dress ... (Ken Doll is really a cross dresser, and the dress really belonged to him ... a Clinton would never do anything to soil up the bone fide of a leg-spreading Mossad agent), he was wrong to propose that that his evidence pure dress was suitable for use as the pennant for his fantasy of Republican Party "conservatives."

"Rally round my guide-on and my fishy blue pennant, all you hardcore Party boyz," shouted Ken Doll, from the courthouse steps. Ken Doll and his FBI-fabricated fishy blue dress then became the BJ that almost brought the nation to its knees.

Hillary IS a monster. . .as far as I know!

Umm, Randy...Perhaps you should get up to speed on the Canadians:

They say a people deserve the government they get. You've had 8 years of a highly-embarrassing scandle-riddled Clinton Govt., not to mention Whitewater & all the rest. I thought that govt. was a joke, even from an Australian's perspective! It was TOTALLY incredulous HOW Bill Clinton managed to "get away" with it, as he did. Wanna mention Ken Starr?? OK, why not? Bring it ALL out for everyone to see, even for those too young to understand at that time!
And now you've had 8 years of an incompetent, nepotistic Bush govt. Just WHAT are you Americans thinking of, by the way? Are you tempting Fate again, to your peril? For the VERY FIRST time in living memory, you have the ONE chance to make a "clean break" with the past and go for a fresh, new beginning....IF you "blow" it (this rare chance), my friends, you have NO sympathy from the rest of the world.
Wanna talk about "qualifications" for being Commander-in-Chief? She is no more qualified than he is. Experience? Did JFK need experience to be a good President? You only get "experience" to be a President by BEING a President. Anything less is neither here nor there. In that regards, they are ALL on par.

On Honesty? OBAMA. Heads & shoulders over everyone on sight. Integrity, forthright. The fact that he WON'T descend to "gutter politics" speaks for itself -it sets a refreshing, exhilirating, new standard in political campaigning. Everyone (including myself) up to this point thought that politics was downright "dirty", filthy, immoral, without conscience or principles. For the first since JFK, I AM actually sitting up to listen to a politician..... OBAMA shows you that politics can have integrity, principles, conscience, & forthrightness......Give the black boy a ride.....! [He gets my vote, even though I can't vote!]

hey people, environmentalists decry the slamming of earth's oceans by this malicious association! lol

Hang on! Isn't Ken Starr the proscutor who was investigating into very credible claims of various acts of sleaze perpetrated by the Clintons ? Yeah, Ken, what happended to your investigations by the way? What ? You were met at every cornor of the investigation with blocking walls, silence, no co-operation and sometimes downright intimidation by the Clinton protectors that probably included a huge chunk of the US media ? It sounds very much like anything that involves the Clinton, alright.

I rather be Kenneth Starr, the respected prosecutor than a monster, if you ask me.

Reading the blogs here is just brilliant. It's so entertaining. Who needs trash TV when you got some very savvy and funny people doing tit for tat here for free? I found some of the Obama supporters here, not only well read and intelligent but also funny! Well done.

Can you finally post my comments ?

Clinton demanded the release of her opponent Lazio's tax returns when she was running against him in New York. Did this mean Hillary Clinton is like Kenn Starr?

"It's OK if You Are Clinton" is the new "It's OK if You Are Republican."

I am a democrat but I can see a republican in the office if Hillary keep up the attack. The party will be devided.

HOW Bill Clinton can have ANY credibility left, even campaigning on his wife's behalf, is truly beyond belief! He single-handedly sullied the Highest Office of the Land in a way no other President did since Nixon……The People elected him to uphold & respect the sanctity of this Office, and he made a mockery of it…..What he did in that Office was nothing less than an egregiously embarrassing travesty & abomination of what that sacrosanct Office stood for…..Single-handedly, he had made this hallowed Office the butt of excruciatingly embarrassing jokes right around the world….

The things he did in the Oval Office were unspeakeable. Even if he didn't have sex with "that woman", it wouldn't have mattered. The other things that he did do with "that woman" would have been enough to irrevocably tarnish or even obliterate the sanctity of this High Office that Americans had entrusted him to uphold & respect……Contrast the vast difference in mentality and attitude with Reagan. Heck, Pres.Reagan was so beholden to the sanctity of the Highest Office of the Land that he wouldn't even take off his coat while in the Oval Office…..

Amongst the MOST critical issues voters have to concern themselves with at election time would, undeniably, have to include credibility & integrity. Look at the downright 'dirty' tactics of the Clinton camp and you should know, deep down, that they have VERY serious problems with these 2 cardinal pre-requisites. There is a question of moral turpitude…..

The highly patronizing, arrogant, condescending Clinton offer to Obama to be her No.2 running mate is the oldest, "worn-out" trick in the world. True to the Clinton mentality, it smacks of outright, blatant hypocrisy, deviousness & un-ashamed self-contradiction. It is another embarrassing faux pas that has "nowhere to go but right in your face!" You didn't think the Clinton's would be capable of such gaucherie, but their "battle-field" is littered with "sacrificial lambs" that they have "put to the sword" in order to further their own ends. We certainly have seen, very early in the piece, that they are capable of anything……My fellow Americans (from a fellow American living abroad), are you going to have these insufferable two, wife & husband, running the White House again??

To the Party "elders" (aka "Super-delegates"): you KNOW it is the will of the People. You KNOW it is OBAMA the people want. You ignore this at your peril come June (or July) in Denver. And if you do, your end will also come – it would be time for you to be cast into the political wilderness, renounced & castigated for the arrogant short-sighted tunnel-vision you choose to obstinately cling on to….. This is not just a mantra. Look at your own polls. Politicians ignore polls to their grave peril (you can see what happened here in Australia 4 months ago!):

Hilary has NO chance against McCain
Obama CAN beat McCain!
