The memo has apparently gone around the Hillary Clinton camp this morning: Lay off the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr.
On a conference call Saturday to talk about the state of the race, Clinton campaign officials just wouldn't go there.
"That's really for Senator Obama to address," said chief strategist Mark Penn.
It's interesting, because certainly, the Clinton folks have shown very little reluctance to knock Obama around like a pinata every time they come across as what they perceive to be a vulnerable spot.
Take, for instance, Obama's mea culpa on his dealings with Antoin "Tony" Rezko. The Clinton campaign has been calling on Obama for months to come clean about the full extent of his relationship with the indicted developer. Friday, they got their wish to some degree, but that only racheted up the Clinton attacks.
Penn said Obama's disclosures were part of a "troubling pattern," in which Obama's words don't match the facts. He said Obama's advisers on foreign policy and trade haven't always been on the same page as the candidate. And with Rezko, Penn said, Obama waited too long to tell the full story. The theme, as the Clinton folks have been pushing for weeks, is that Obama's words don't add up to very much.
"We tend to learn more in dribs and drabs rather than the kind of transparent candidate and the transparent campaign he says he has been running," Penn said.
Transparency, of course, is a two-way street. The campaign was asked again whether it would release Clinton's tax returns, something Obama has been demanding for months. Penn said the returns would be released "around April 15." When pressed, he pledged they would be made public before the Pennsylvania primary. The Obama camp has been saying returns will shed light on the various sources of income for both Hillary -- and especially Bill -- Clinton.
Clinton spokesman Phil Singer also wondered why Obama had said he wasn't aware of Rezko's legal problems when Friday Obama said that he had indeed read stories about Rezko's troubles and why Obama said Rezko had raised $100,000 less for his campaign than the developer actually raised.
"Senator Obama needs to answer some basic questions, including why does this story keep changing?" Singer said. He complained that Obama "claims the high ground while attacking Senator Clinton's character."
As for staying away from Rev. Wright, it may be that the campaign didn't want to invite comparisons to Geraldine Ferraro, whose race-based remarks were made seemingly a thousand news cycles ago. Or maybe that talking about race in any context has become such a landmine that they just thought it wouldn't be prudent.
It certainly wasn't because there was nothing to say.

Comments
There is only ONE reason why the CLinton campaign wants to lay off Wright. It has NOTHING to do with professionalism, reason, judgment, or character. It has to do with trying not to alienate any more black voters. Nothing more than another strategic Clinton game.

It is well known in Chicago that Rezko contributed money to many politicians, including the Clintons. How about asking the Clinton campaign to come clean on Bill and Hillary's dealings with Rezko? It is outrageous for Hillary to suggest Obama has political connections to Rezko's indictment when she and Bill have received contributions from Rezko and have been photographed with him. Senator Obama has never been charged with any wrong doing associated with Rezko. All these attempts to smear Obama benefit one man, John McCain

Here's another possible explanation for Clinton's reluctance to criticize Obama for his pastor's statements:
Does it confirm for people that Obama is, in fact, a Christian and not a Muslim?

Yes Hillary, let's talk about Rezko, afterall he raised money for Bill, remember?
Rezko made a $1,250 contribution during the Clinton re-election campaign in 1996 to a Democratic party account that funded activities in Illinois to help win the election for Bill.

Let's also talk about Norman Hu, shall we Hillary?
For those who have wondered what happened to Clinton fundraiser Norman Hsu, here is your answer. Norman was indicted in New York on 15 counts of duping investors with a nationwide Ponzi scheme.

Clinton's camp makes the right decision to stay away from the Wright situation for now. With such an obvious big issue, some media folks will dig into them and we will all get to the bottom of this story. If the press gives Obama a free pass on something this important to the people then Clinton needs to rethink this strategy.

Perhaps the reason for the Clinton campaign deciding to stop drawing attention to the Christian preacher Wright is that drawing attention to that stuff also draws attention to the fact that Obama isn't a Muslim (baloney which has been indirectly helping Clinton).

Lil Johnny Cakes,
No one is talking about John W McCain because no one (other than robots like you) is interested in giving Bush and Cheney a third term.
I look forward to the general election, because we're going to tie crazy old man McCain to his mentors, Bush and Cheney and put him under your Christmas tree just like the big red tricycle you got from mommy and daddy this past X-mas.

Hillary and her campaign aren't "going there" because they put out this tape in the first place. I know the Republicans are somewhat being blamed for this; however, I do believe Senator McCain has a lot more class and integrity and would not put out this kind of thing, most especially since one of the pastors supporting him made some very deragotory remark about Catholics. It IS the Clinton campaign that put that tape out there to besmirch Senator Obama. Notice they have not decried such a thing being put out there???

"It would be hard to make a case that the rants of Rev. Wright are consistent with Christianity."
Point conceded. Nonetheless, the story repeatedly mentions that the Obamas have been members of the congregation for 20 years; were married there and their daughters were baptized there. There is no doubt that this is a Christian family, which provides irrefutable evidence contradicting Clinton's despicable "Not that I know of" comment.

The Obama campaign have no problem hitting below the belt when it serves them well. Now, with Wright's remarks out they want to focus on the "real issues". Double standard?-hell yes! The media has no backbone, they are running scared from any negativity shown on Obama for fear of being labeled racist. This is getting ridiculous. I thought we were past this PC bull! Is this how it would be if Obama wins in November? Never being able to challenge him on anything because he's black?
Posted by: Gina L. | March 15, 2008 3:01 PM
"G__ D___ AmeriKKKa just think about that people."
Yes, well: reading some of the frothing, raving, lunatic insinuations and replies on the blogs since February 25th have made me think that same exact thought.
I had no idea that the silly season of politics was in fact an Indian Summer.
Although I suspect the answer is Constitution mandated and Supreme Court upheld freedom of speech.
That's always the Amendment that comes under challenge the most often in the name of what it means to be a "good American" in matters of so-called "patriotism" and taste, is it not?
Is it not freedom of speech which allows Rush Limbaugh to punish the whole Western World with his existence, or Hillary Clinton to ridicule millions of voters a la "The Celestial Choir", or blog commentators to Power Post their propaganda with mind-numbing repetition?
What chills me the most is the smug satisfaction, the smugness with which politicians initiate smear campaigns based on FUD -"Fear, Unvertainty, Doubt", and thereby prostituting the same democratic process which they profess to love. I believe it was in "Mein Kampf" where a young Bavarian agitator named Adolf Hitler mentioned that by a relentless barrage of abuse and inflamed rhetoric one could first wear down, and break an opponent "with almost mathematical certainty."
And, in fact, we have in such demeaning devices a new kind of fascism particular to America and Americans: a self-righteous, moral-generational fascisti who are more than willing to trample anyone down who gets in their way and rend the Republic asunder in the name of self-righteousness and ambition. -D.

Why is she only releasing part of her ear marks?
Why is President Bill Clinton stopping the release of his presidential library disclosures? What on earth would he have to hide??

My head is exploding!

The Clinton Campaign has had to do the national press's job of vetting Senator Obama. It seems like finally the national press is on the ball with Senator Obama's troubling, close, mentoring relationship with his pastor Reverend Wright. This pales in comparison with what Ferraro said or even with McCain's endorsements by some of those far right preachers which cnn's Anderson Cooper tried but failed to do an "objective" comparison of last night.
It was also interesting to watch the pain in msnbc's Chris Matthews as he had to report on this story. One can see why SNL Live has had a field day with this national press anchors.
Posted by: Evelyn | March 15, 2008 3:15 PM
They aren't going there because they are in the dust on this issue. It's very interesting you have Obama, clearly rising up out of an unlikely scenario as a black man, and every rising start black guy is going to have Wright's around them, white folks just don't get it. But he comes out of it and is tempered by his experiences and shows sound judgement properties. He comes to us to take on issues of all people in US. What a story. Then you have McCain, war hero, no crud, new sheriff person. Again what a story. Then you have Hillary. She COULD champion women's causes, I mean she appears to be a woman, but she could care less really, they are just a stepping stone to what she wants. And where did she rise? Out of Bill's pants. Now that story really competes doesn't it. HRC step aside and fade to history. I know angry women and nostalgic boomers will have it tough, but I think they will adjust.

NinaK:
To say Hillary put the tape out there is false. Conservative talk radio has been talking about the Rev. Wright for weeks. They've been doing there homework on Obama, unlike the news media. Obama may have more delegates than Hillary, but he won't win in November. The Rev. Wright has already damaged him.
Posted by: goldenstate | March 15, 2008 3:18 PM
"It would be hard to make a case that the rants of Rev. Wright are consistent with Christianity."
I don't think that Jesus would disagree that the bible took place on the African continent or with that the fact he himself is of African descent and that the European Romans were the oppressors of the day. The bible also teaches to choose none of the oppressors ways. Since when did the bible only say happy stuff. There is a lot of condemnation in the bible and rulers who were in the wrong were very often punished harshly.
Do rich white men not run the country? Black Americans have not been treated as first class citizens in this country, yet we were brought here against our will, helped build it, fought in wars to protect it, and defend it to this day. Heck, we built the White House! And yet (yes I'm speaking from personal experience) have continued to be abused for all of our efforts, with much more subtlety today. This country is not holy. It's our home and we love it, but we have to tell the truth if anything is ever going to change. Pretending our turbulent history and present day struggles don't exist makes America the hypocrite around the world when we tell people how they're supposed to treat their citizens.
And until you have to worry about someone changing their mind about your excellent resume after they see you in person and then try to quickly control their eyes opening widely when they see the owner of the resume for the first time, then tell me there is no foundation for Wright's comments. It's reverse racism right? No, it's a reactionary response to racism and injustice.
Everyone is wanting to blow this out of the context of a sermon at a church with civil rights ties.
Let's not forget that Barack is half white. And was raised by a white grandfather and grandmother. So to think that he hates one half of himself is ridiculous.
I think a more important issue is whether he thought going to Iraq was wrong when someone different attacked us, whether he would have sat on the board of Wal-mart and never raised a question about their fight against unions, or whether his camp lied about the opponent camp's talk with the Ambassador of Canada like the Clinton camp did to encourage them that their stance on NAFTA had not really changed.

Ignorant and brain washed Democrats support Clinton or Obama. Both would cripple our energy companies, increase the number of illegals, provide more handouts to the undeserving unproductive, encourage our enemies, and sink our economy in the name of global warming. It is a pleasure watching the Democrat race war with daily "racist" comments from Clinton supporters and daily bogus "racism" charges from Obama's supporters.
Posted by: V Racer | March 15, 2008 3:20 PM
This thread is a good example of what we Hillary supporters have been asserting for months. No matter what happens, Obama's supporters are certain to try to cast blame on Hillary. Obama's minister makes racist comments about European Americans and calls out damnation on the United States, and it is Hillary Clinton's fault? Hillary exercises restraint by not fueling the fire, and she's being strategic and manipulative? Take a look at the first comment in this thread made by Tony: Obama's pastor insults Hillary, white people, and America, and that proves that Hillary is racist? Get real. You folks are kidding yourself, BIG TIME.
Obama's got some major questions to answer. This isn't about Hillary, and her so called "racist" campaign. It's about his campaign. Obama's supporters are sad, because their perfect image of this "post-racial" candidate is fading before their eyes. But hey kids, that's what you get for trying to make a mere man into a god! So sad, but Senator Obama is just another politician, not your Savior.
Glad we all know that- now we can have a real election!!!! Good luck to all of you, fellow Democrats.
GO HILLARY.

The reverend says nothing but the truth, black people have been mistreated, and it's a shame that nor democrats nor republicans are willing to stand by the reverend's statement. Hillary and Bill have done a lot more for black people than Obama. Anybody willing to challenge that? Why didn't Obama show up to Katrina's aftermath? It was Hillary the one that began a private initiative to investigate why the funds were not being used to relieve the disaster's victims. Thanks to this investigation it was found that FEMA knowingly did absolutely nothing. Where was Obama then?

Wake up you little oba-maniacs - he's not the Barack you fantasize about and he never was.
Go ahead and look into his background, minus the sunny-bunny "bio" on his website. You won't like what you find; I doubt you'll be able to go back 2 or 3 years before continuing to rationalize and pretend for him becomes so strenuous you have to walk away from the computer.

Carmen writes: "It's reverse racism right?"
No, Carmen. It's just called racism. That disgusting poor excuse for a "Pastor" was making distinctions b/t Hillary and Barack solely on the basis of race in an effort to urge black voters to vote for the black candidate.
That, Carmen, is the VERY ESSENCE of racism. Not "reverse" racism, or a "reactionary response," but RACISM.

Now is the time to pass a memo to the Clinton campaign about why she should come clean in her 1993 coverup of the Whitewater real estate scandal in which Susan McDougal went to jail to help protect the Clintons. Hillary was lucky that teflon Bill was the target and not herself.
Read why the Clinton's dealings make Rezko look like "the tooth fairy."

Sarah, from tony: Your comments belie your undying support for another female. If HIllary's name was Hugh Carson, and she was a white man, Obama would have trumped her several primaries ago. You forget that Obama is not making these statements, his preacher did, seven years ago. I have a jogging partner, more than 20 years older than I, who says quite a few racist and radical things to me. I consider his circumstance and background, and dismiss them. It doesn't mean I am not his friend, or that he can not inspire me or cause me to think about things. You would be a liar if you said you did not have a similar "someone" in your life.

Ferraro just stated a fact based on what everyone has been witnessing throughout this whole primary: that because Obama is a black man, he has been treated with kid gloves. Because, apparently, everyone is willing to turn a blind eye or pretend not to see just to prove that they aren't racist.

Obama supporters let's start racheting up the pressure on Hillary Clinton.
Her refusal to release her tax returns
Her refusal to White House papers
Her and Bill's refusal to release Donor Lists
Her $100,000 windfall from a futures investment of $1,000
Her ties to Norman Hsu
Her ties to the Peter Paul trial
Her Goldwater Girl Days
Her role as an attorney at Rose Law Firm
The serial philandering of her husband
The mysterious appearance of law firm billing records
It is imperative that we start the pressure now before she takes her lies and double standard too far.

Sorry Hillery but you won't win, even with these tactics. Obama is an honest man. You can soil him all you want, but in the end you will just piss us all off. I do not speak just for myself but for my family. I don't have a lot of power or influence but I am a grandfather and my descendants listen me we wont vote for you in the fall if it looks like you stole it. You can be sure of that.

Obama is starting to show cracks in his veneer. The closer you look, the more you see a) substantially nothing as far as experience and ideas go, and 2) a slick operator and nothing more.
Not only is the Obama campaign imploding - so is the Clinton Campaign and the entire Democratic party.
What do you think is going to happen when we get to the general election and the kid gloves come off?
Somehow the Democrats have positioned two completely unelectable candidates again! unbelievable!
Rezko is a crook and has ties to Syrian Militants overseas. Think that part is not going to come out soon?
Clinton cannot believe she is losing to this guy who has absolutely nothing to say but the word 'hope' and will just get more and pit bull and bitter and gut her own image.
What you need is someone with clintons more definable positions and experience and obamas charisma and slick willy dance.
You need Bill Clinton again! He is the only decent candidate the Dem's have fielded in almost 3 decades. Why is the party Democratic party so defunct of a full spectrum talent?

Obama has yet to answer why he would support a racist preacher for 20 years, be married by him, have his children baptized by him and then claim that he hasn't heard Wright spew his vitriol during the 20 years that he sat listening his sermons? Deep down Obama and his wife support Wright and what he says, despite his present convenent claims of innocence. Maybe Obama supporters can ignore it and think that it's okay for the President of the United States to associate himself with racists, but once the general population of voters find out about the racial hate coming out from Obama's spiritual mentor and close friend, McCain will be the runaway winner in November.

Hillary is a master of politics, an expert of spin, a genius of manipulation, Obama does not have a chance. If Hillary wins, it has nothing to do with Obama's failures, but rather with the racism of poor, uneducated, white people who don't want to see a black face but do want a big brother pro-union government. Republicans have no monopoly on racism. The Hispanics believe that they should ave the first president, not African Americans. With the explosion in the Hispanic population this may be the last time that an African American has a chance. If Hillary wins the nomination millions of voters will become apathetic - millions hate her and conservatives despise McCain. In the end it will come down to a bloodfest between McCain and Hillary. and who will care ? I don't and I won't be voting.

I truly don't see how any of you can blame Hillary Clinton for Barack Obama attending a racist church. I just don't see how that can possibly be turned around to make her be the evil one. She's the one that's been telling us he's full of crap the entire time, that he says one thing and does another. lol. It seems to me that Hillary is the one telling it like it is and Obama's the one touting nonsense. But if your so hell bent on voting for Barack Obama and making him president that you don't see the forest for the trees then something is seriously wrong in this country. If Hillary Clinton is so dirty on her monetary dealings and campaign donations and her taxes then how come Hillary Clinton is not in jail yet? It just seems the people against Hillary Clinton just grasp at anything and leach on to it to try to prove that she is a crook. But to compare Hillary with a person that attends a church where the pastor very much hates America and white people is just appalling. Get a grip people. Admit that you screwed up in voting for him and get behind Hillary quickly so we can all unite behind her and win the election in the fall. There is no way this guy is going to last two minutes in the fall election and it really does suck that Americans fell for him. It really does. I think those of you that hate Hillary seriously need to ask yourselves why. If she did everything that people who want to see her fail say she did then she would be in jail. Plain and simple. Have a good day! Vote Hillary!!

I am a black woman that is very appauled by the remarks of Minister Wright. He has abused his authority as a minister. I use to respect him until I heard and saw his body language when it came to his remarks about Clinton. As for 911, how wrong and insensitive. If you are so anti-america than work to make a positive change. While many are saying out with the old guard, MKL and Ghandi were great earthly examples on how to deal with race relations. What would Jesus say about the way Minister Wright conducted himself in the temple. It doesn't matter if the speech was a year of 3 months ago, it was wrong. Don't be so blinded by hope that you can discern truth. Obama is not ready to be president. Some Americans have fallen in love with the emotion felt from Obama's speeches. Welcome to Black America. The same way you're being lead by Obama is the same way Minister Wright is leading Obama. Vote by Knowledge not by Feelings.

"Hillary and her campaign aren't "going there" because they put out this tape in the first place. I know the Republicans are somewhat being blamed for this..."
I'm not exactly sure who exposed the video, but I think any American who had the video, or even knew of it, had an obligation to make it public. This man is running for the highest office on the planet.
We should all just agree that the rants of Wright are indefensible and start the debate from that point. Those who offer up ANY defense of those deplorable and hate-filled sermons do themselves a great disservice.

Lets talk lobbyists and PAC donations. Mr Obama now scores # 1 in accepting lobbyists donations.
Mr Obama donated $723,000 to 36 delegates who have endorsed him. The money came from his PAC. So...seems to me all of you should take yet another look at your candidate who spews 'no lobbyists'-He lies about that, Rezko, the authorship of bills in the Illinois Legislature, he lies about donations, he plagiarizes, he lies alot..I know 'honesty, transparency, ethics, morality..all standards set by Mr Obama himself...but only for everyone else-not for him-his answer to all questions is racism and Hillary Clintons tax returns. It is getting old isn't it?
Posted by: MMiller | March 15, 2008 5:50 PM
The rationalization by Obama's bloggers is astounding. Here you clearly have a man with very strong and long standing ties to a separatist church and racist minister and somehow it's either ok, or it someone elses fault, or you try to deflect attention by asking for Hillary's tax returns! Are you people crazy or hateful or both? Given this knowledge among other things, Obama will never become our President. Yes, it is a disappointing truth for you all, but lying to yourselves will not change the reality. Your hate and anger should be directed at the one who is responsible for your disappointment and that would be Obama. Peace.

Third world countries which are more religious are accepting COLOR already.
Nothing of above matters as Bush/USA is going to **** WAR **** on Iran on 09/11/2008 or close to that.
If you kill people, you make enemies.
Hillary: I am experienced. McSame is more than me. Obama has a 2002 Speech.
If she wins on that, don’t you think McSame can use the same to ask her to Cleanup whitehouse from Bill’s mess?
Atleast from 2005, Most Experienced Hillary voted exactly like Obama.
Does it mean Obama is a Jewel and needs no s”Experience” to think Good and Judge right?
Hillary kept pushing Dream Ticket and after rejection, she rejected herself that that is too early.
OH. MY. GOD.
How low you take yourself to BELIEVE in her.
Wake up World Leader. If you do not choose your leader right, World will leave you to WEST.

to busy fighting with the black community, because they won't think he's doing enough for them while on the other hand he'd be trying to show the white community that he's not racist! in the end he will accomplish nothing! Gina L,
It wouldn't be hard to make the case that Wright's preaching is in keeping with Christianity. In case you have forgotten, Christianity was one of the instruments used to enslave Africans and African Americans. Christianity was present in the racist South during the Jim Crow eras.
Wright is wrong for not preaching about healing and togetherness but he is right about the events he mentioned, those are historical facts. White America wants to run away from its evil past but the reality is those need to be addressed before the wounds can be healed and a better future created for all.

Geraldine Ferraro has more years of political experience than Hillary Clinton. Did GF miss-speak or was her sacrifice a ploy of cold calculated treachery from the Clinton campaign? This is politics! GF is still a Hillary supporter and continues to repeat the message that benefits Hillary, yet Hillary claims separation from. Rev Wright may be another example of a man of God, yet the Great Deceiver has had his way with him for some moments. I know that Rev Wright's miss-spoken message is certainly not a single word from God! Do you agree,"All things happen for a reason". Every family needs to have God as the primary center to follow, just as our government needs to return. One Nation Under God, each of us doing our part to reduce continued racism in any shade of skin color.

I'm is the advertising business, and when I first heard Obama speak I was impressed. The more I heard the same slogans over and over, I thought, he's just a Sales Guy: New, Different, Better Best.
Then I wanted to read more about him and started reading about Rezko, who fund raises for both Obama and Bush. How Obama bought his property for half of what it was worth, and how Rezko bought the lot next door.
Then I read how he gets teremndous ammounts of money from Banks and Wall Street, the companies that Finance the War, and the Stockbrokers who advantage when Oil pricesare high and wars go onand on, so theny can sell arms, and the stock prices in the Defence sector rises.
All the while Obama is whining, Hillary show me your tax return as if she's dumb, and would cheat in an election. Then he cry's Hillary is Negative, why did she distribute a photo of me in a turban, and I'm thinking, it's you isn't it, she probably didn't do it, Republicans don't like you, and mostly I thought he did it himself to smear Hillary, and at the same time attract Muslim voters.
It didn't take me long to realize Obama is definately not who he claism to be, and his record on Iraq is virtually the same as Bush, so when he claims a 2002 speach he gave at an anit-war rally when he was not in the Senate, and had a crowd of ant-ewar activists, what did he have to lose. I figure if his record on working for peace was better than Hillary's why would he have to go all the way back to 2002 to make a point, which seems like a weak premise.
Now he's starting a race war, when from what I see Hillary has worked harder for Peace than Obama, and done more for Civil rights than Obama, and I heard Wright, and some of what he said was shocking, but he seems passionate, and mostly sincere accept when he says Hillary is a Rich White Lady, then it sounds like Obama wrote that part of his speech, because Obama has always been rich, and no way do I believe he did not know about that speech.
Obama has had more than his fair share of free passes for outright lies in this race, and for someone with so little experience, what he is showing us about his judgment is not good.

DON'T BE DUPED!!!
Large numbers of Republicans have been voting for Barack Obama in the DEMOCRATIC primaries, and caucuses. Because they feel he would be a weaker opponent against John McCain. And because they feel that a Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama ticket would be unbeatable. And also because with a Clinton and Obama ticket you are almost 100% certain to get quality, affordable universal health care very soon.
But first, all of you have to make certain that Hillary Clinton takes the democratic nomination and then the Whitehouse. NOW! is the time. THIS! is the moment you have all been working, and waiting for. You can do this America. “Carpe diem” (harvest the day).
I think Hillary Clinton see’s a beautiful world of plenty, and comfort for all. She is a woman, and a mother. And it’s time America. Do this for your-self, and your children’s future. You will have to work together on this and be aggressive, relentless, and creative. Americans face an even worse catastrophe ahead than the one you are living through now.
You see, the medical and insurance industry mostly support the republicans with the money they ripped off from you. And they don’t want you to have quality, affordable universal health care. They want to be able to continue to rip you off, and kill you and your children by continuing to deny you life saving medical care that you have already paid for. So they can continue to make more immoral profits for them-self.
Hillary Clinton has actually won by much larger margins than the vote totals showed. And lost by much smaller vote margins than the vote totals showed. Her delegate count is actually much higher than it shows. And higher than Obama’s. HILLARY CLINTON IS ALREADY THE TRUE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE!
As much as 30% of Obama's primary, and caucus votes are Republicans trying to choose the weakest democratic candidate for McCain to run against. These Republicans have been gaming the caucuses where it is easier to vote cheat. This is why Obama has not been able to win the BIG! states primaries. Even with Republican vote cheating help.
Hillary Clinton has been out manned, out gunned, and out spent 2 and 3 to 1. Yet Obama has only been able to manage a very tenuous, and questionable tie with Hillary Clinton.
If Obama is the democratic nominee for the national election in November he will be slaughtered. Because the Republican vote cheating help will suddenly evaporate. All of this vote fraud and republican manipulation has made Obama falsely look like a much stronger candidate than he really is. YOUNG PEOPLE. DON’T BE DUPED! Think about it. You have the most to lose.
The democratic party needs to fix this outrage. I suggest a Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama ticket now! Everyone needs to throw all your support to Hillary Clinton NOW! So you can end this outrage against YOU the voter, and against democracy.
I think Barack Obama has a once in a life time chance to make the ultimate historic gesture for unity, and change in America by accepting Hillary Clinton’s offer as running mate. Such an act now would for ever seal Barack Obama’s place at the top of the list of Americas all time great leaders, and unifiers for all of history. But the time to act is soon.
The democratic party, and the super-delegates have a decision to make. Are the democrats, and the democratic party going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee to fight for the American people. Or are the republicans going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee through vote fraud, and gaming the DEMOCRATIC party primaries, and caucuses.
Fortunately the Clinton’s have been able to hold on against this fraudulent outrage with those repeated dramatic comebacks of Hillary Clinton’s. Only the Clinton’s are that resourceful, and strong. Hillary Clinton is your NOMINEE. They are the best I have ever seen.
“This is not a game” (Hillary Clinton)
Sincerely
jacksmith...

It is amazing how quickly we forget things. First off, the keep in mind that although it appears Obama is not without his problems, atleast his so-called racial problem was not on hist staff. The Clinton campaign just fired their finance chairmen for her racial comments less than a week, a person who WAS part of the campaign. In addition, the Clinton's have had many problems with others on their campaign, especially in Bill's years, in the past. Hilary's campaign might be different, but it appears not by much. As far as I know, Obama hasn't had any problems with anyone on HIS campaign staff as of yet.
As for the finance situation, do you really want to talk about the money that Hilary Clinton "returned" a few months back in some of the more local areas around the country. It might not have been much in each case, but there have been multiple issues in various areas across the country like Nevada, Florida, etc. If Obama has an associate who also has problems, I'd say that about makes them even. And lets not talk about the Clinton's previous campaign finance problems.
History of abuse is there with the Clintons, it is starting to show with Obama. Whether either is lasting will be seen in the future. Both have made some mistakes, so for the time being, lets move on and get down to the issues.

Are you really kidding??? You can say whatever you'd like to try to defend this "candidate," now, but this candidate is going to have to drop out of this race, for the good of our country, given the absolutely horrible, incendiary, anti-American, anti-white, hate-speech that we all know Obama has been privy to for the last twenty years from his very own spiritual advisor - Jeremiah Wright!!! He is lying when he says he has never heard of these horrible sermons!!! And he will be caught in his own lies!!! Think of the young minds, the young children, if nothing else, who have been conditioned by such speech for all of their formative years!!! One must wonder just what Obama's agenda truly is for this country!!! THERE IS NO OTHER WAY OUT OF THIS EXCEPT HIS DROPPING FROM THE RACE!!! FROM JUST SUCH REALMS OF HATE-SPEECH, HITLERS HAVE ARISEN - THIS IS NOT THE AUDACITY OF HOPE, IT IS THE AUDACITY OF HATE!!!

It's amazing how often I see people discounting the Rezko/Obama deal as "nothing" and well "Obama's come clean". It's very convenient to think so, however with a lilttle more discerning eye you can see how shady the land deal was:
First off BO states that it was a "mistake" and "boneheaded". I am confident that implies he did something wrong.
The major point is what has not truly been shown, and that is that Rezko lost money on the real estate. Rezko bought the property for $625k. Paid costs associated with closing the deal (appraisal, fees, etc). Sold 1/6 of the land for $105k to BO. He then had it for 11 months and sold the other 5/6 for $575k. So basic math would say Rezko bought for $625k sold for $680k so $55k profit, right? No. True cost of ownership would include what you could make with the money being tied up. Even with the most basic way of saying it was a cash deal with $500k tied up that would be at 5.5% (cd return) around a $30k return. So now we are down to 25k profit. Was there a broker involved in the final sale? Probably, as I believe it was stated Rezko and Obama had the same broker. Commercial real estate (having been an investment broker for four years) would make 6% on the deal. 6% of 500k is another 30k. Oops, now we've moved into negative territory. Throw taxes in, maintenance (probably need to get the lawn mowed and stuff), any other ancillary costs and you are easily at negative 25k. Even without a broker it's a breakeven deal. So now we have a big time real estate developer who has made tens of millions of dollars bothering with a small plot of land in the city for sale purposes, not to develop (very odd in real estate), losing money, with a political ally who now has a bigger yard and who may feel as BO said that he just helped BO out. What's not to love about this real estate deal?
What developer pays full price for land to then flip it a year later for negtive or at the best even cash? Why would a big developer even waste his time? The deal was mentioned to Rezko by Obama.

The controversies this past week are not going to change the hardcore supporters of any candidate. It is going to affect the undecided voters and that's it.
For Obama to beat McCain, he needs the undecided voters to take a huge leap of faith in that he did not know about Wright's beliefs during his time as a member of the church.

If enough people can take that leap of faith and believe what Obama says then he is your next president. On the other hand, if people think he is being a normal politician and full of B.S. then McCain is your next president.

So much is being said about raicism being directed toward African Americans, Hispanics and Whites, but I notice one notable absence in the discussion, the original Americans, the indigeneous people. Where do they fit into the argument, and why aren't their concerns being aired. After all, they are the true Americans.

Do we really want a president who sat for 20 years listening to hate against whites and America every week and agreeing with the preacher enough to consider him his (Obama's) mentor?
Obama is disingenuous on this one, as well as with Resko.
Also, think about it, most of what Obama a has done as an adult has been to teach and to run for office, not much else. Very thin on getting anything done.
Hillary is much more accomplished and substantial, and she does not have a radical religion problem.

Hillary's claims of experience have been greatly exaggerated according to former Clinton staff member Greg Craig, and the Irish call Hillary's claim to peace making in Ireland "silly". Her reluctance to divulge her income tax returns and White House phone records suggest there is more to hide. She has an ethics complaint pending against her for filing false financial disclosures with the US senate and has a history of hiding records and backroom deals. We don't need another Bush.

Pastor Wright is OB's second "bone-headed" mistake. I trusted him......I was shocked when I heard those tapes.....Rezko actually gave me 250,000....I didn't know he was under investigation for fraud...
Oh my.
