It figures that Clinton would lie. That is what most of her campaign has relied upon ... lies or exaggerations. She takes big money from lobbyists and then claims to be the spokesperson for the working person. She has yet to be called to task for her association with Peter Paul.
Her so called "foreign policy experience" comes from one trip to Bosnia with her daughter and being married to the president for 8 years. Hardly anything that calls for this country's support as a real president .. you know .. the kind that actually has to get the job done.

Hmmm, a "misspeak?" Then why has she told it on several occasions? How can one misspeak about something like this?

I Misspoke

It was a treacherous night landing. Ice had formed on both of our wings, and as I looked out the port window, I could see it breaking into shards, flying off into the night sky with each near barrel roll of our C-50, highlighted by the flares shooting past on either side of the cabin, turning them into falling prisms of wildly careening light.

As the cabin lurched back and forth and the sounds of rocket fire percussed the urgent, faltering rhythm of our right engine, I unfastened my seat belt, and, finding my center of gravity, rose from my seat, moving past aides shock still in their chairs, arms locked like girders against their arm rests in terror, and walked up the center aisle to the pilot's cabin.

"How long to Kosovo"? I shouted over the screaming whine of the altimeter's alarm, marking our steep descent. The pilot turned, looked at me in shocked recognition--"How...how did you make it up here? No one has ever walked up here in these conditions before! How..."

"Never mind that!" I barked, with what I hoped was a not too stern forcefulness, combined with sufficient steel and empathy to create the appearance of a firm imperturbability. "Check the master FMC! Is it working or has it failed?"

The pilot, paused, as if in amazement at my readiness, and then himself awakening to crisis, looked to the Control Display Unit . "It's down! It's down!" he shouted. A bead of sweat began to form on his brow.

I knew what I had to do. "Get out of there!" I commanded, and pulled him from the seat, from where he crumbled to a fetal position on the floor behind me. Stepping over him, I took the chair behind the console.

"Check the Central Maintenance Computers and activate the NAV RAD for alternate radio tuning capability!" I shouted to the co-pilot. He, too, had broken down in tears, his head buried in his hands. I looked to his ID on the console. Another newbie.

Well, this was another one where I would have to go it alone.

Quickly, I tore the scarf from my neck and fashioned it into a crude lasso that could be used for EFIS/EICIS control. Catching the lever with my right hand, I activated the cabin loudspeaker with my left. I knew that the passengers had likely been gulled by the earlier soft patter of the pilot. "Brace yourself! Get ready! These aren't just words!" Then I pulled the lever back hard, sending us rocketing towards the runway.

"You'll never make it!" I knew that voice, and turned. Richardson! How did he trundle up to the cabin? "Out of here, Judas! And take that quivering beard with you!"

I could feel bolts straining against Pennsylvania steel as I pushed the '50 down, down, down to the ground below us. Suddenly, an explosion punctuated the sky--Hand held rocket fire at 3' o'clock!

I quickly performed the evasive maneuvers that I had learned for so long, and so well. My face became angry, then sad, then gentle, then intensely serious, then was finally rocked by a powerful squealing, an unnatural burst of laughter. That did it! The rocket exploded harmlessly behind us.

Now. Now it was time to take the stick and bring this shaking, careening flight, parts straining against themselves until nearly ready to burst, down to the ground. I put my arms to the twin arms of the FO-AP, set the APC, and with all of the strength remaining in me, began to push the levers down. Straining, I pushed harder. And harder. I could see the runway rising before us in the glare shield. I would have to find the remaining strength to bring it down.

Finally, as if a burst of superhuman might had been somehow delegated to me, I pushed the levers into locked position. I could hear Penn in the cabin shouting "We're landing...We're going down!" as I felt the rough shock of the landing gear snapping into place.

Sparks flew as we hit the runway, bullets ricocheting off of the cabin, one wheel touching pavement. I looked straight through the windshield--the militia, arms at the ready stood at the runway's end. The last obstacle.

I turned the craft hard, sending it hurtling sideways across the pavement. It swept the militia away in a single screaming motion that combined with the screaming that arose from the cabin, as we continued to move towards the small, makeshift terminal, where the dignitaries, negotiators, and heads of state awaited for my arrival.

I did not close my eyes. I did not let go of the wheel. I watched--as we ground to a halt just before the doors of the terminal.

I looked fore, at the dignitaries protecting themselves from the sniper fire that raged around them. I looked aft, at the passengers, shaken but safe.

We had arrived. All was good.

Just a moment...

Due to the discovery of a video of the above described occasion, I would like to make few small corrections. The flight was in fact actually a regularly scheduled chartered flight that was actually flown by the pilot and co-pilot--although the pilot did have a cold, and during the flight, I did at several times give serious attention to our flight conditions (notes indicate that I found it "a bit bumpy"). I would also note that the dinner, Salmon with Creamed Potatoes, was undercooked, and was served with a Riesling that was unusually dry. It is also true that we were met not by a militia, but by a girl's youth soccer team. However, it was necessary for me to dodge a soccer ball as team members demonstrated their often aggressive skills. No other shots were fired.

In short: I misspoke."

RFB, seriously how is this less an "out and out lie" in your opinion? She said certain, very specific, very memorable things happened. They did not.

A slight mis-speak is Saying "there were two little girls handing me flowers on the tarmac" when there was only one.

HRC told an out and out lie, and got caught.

Sen. Clinton speaks millions words a day? That's not even anywhere near reality. Talk about misspeaking. Assuming she only spoke one million words (not millions) and she only need 4 hours of sleep a day, that means she is talking at an uninterrupted constant rate of 13 words a second from the moment she wakes up to the moment she goes to sleep. Amazing! No wonder she can dodge sniper bullets while running across a tarmac and talking to teachers at the same time.

Given the number of times she's come under sniper fire it's easy to see how she could get this one confused with another!

How can Democrats believe that either of their candidates is capable of beating John McCain in November? Bush won a second term despite being hated by everybody. McCain doesn't have to exaggerate his experiences to sound like a hero. He is a hero, and we all know it.

Are you kidding? A slight misspeak? A memory lapse? How would someone, anyone, who has not been in a combat situation regularly, not remember correctly being shot at by snipers? You don't confuse things like that with the way it happened on video. This is hardly a non-issue. She LIED. It's as simple as that. If you have the video of Obama sitting in church listening to Wright's racist sermons, go ahead and provide it to the approapriate parties so we can all see it. Clinton will do anything, say anything to become president. I would have been happy to have Clinton or Obama as president, but now I can't stand the thought of voting for her. this lie is the final straw. Ridiculous.

He actually didn't say that. Try actually listening to what he says. He said he heard Wright say "controversial" things. That doesn't mean the particular comments that have been looping. It also doesn't mean they were racist or anti-American. Try to see past the smear, if you can, if you want to.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for in a President. Are you looking for a military "hero" who admits he knows little about the economy, and is pledged to continue the failed foriegn adventures of the previous administration? Or are you looking for someone who can admit that many of our national policies, both foriegn and domestic, are on the wrong track, and has plans on how to get us moving in a better direction?

RFB-IL, Obama did not lie about anything-- he said only that he did not hear the specific sermons which are being played non-stop in the media. His travel records confirm that he was in DC at the time of each of these 3 sermons. During his speech, he was simply acknowledging that he had heard some controversial sermons by Wright during the 20 years he had known him, but nothing as extreme as the clips we are seeing. Since all of Wright's sermons are on tape and the videos show the members of the congregation, don't you think the media--or at least the Clinton campaign-- have been looking feverishly for clips of inflammatory sermons on dates that Obama can be confirmed to have been in the audience? Trust me, if those clips existed we would have already seen them.

Hillary, however, flat out lied about her experience in Bosnia. "Misspeaking" is accidentally misquoting someone or citing incorrect information-- she told an elaborate story which simply isn't true. Have you really every heard of someone doing that by accident?

As an Obama supporter, I'm not going to argue that it was a smart decision for Obama to enter into this deal with Rezko, given his reputation. HOWEVER, there is absolutely no evidence that Obama engaged in any wrong-doing or did or agreed to do any favors for Rezko. Certainly, if there was any smoking gun, the media or Hillary would have already found it.

I'd also like to point out that Hillary supporters that continue to bring up the Rezko issue seem completely unaware of the corruption which surrounds the Clinton campaign. Just to put things in perspective, here is a quote from a 2005 article in the Associated Press:
"The FBI previously said in court papers that it had evidence the former first lady's campaign deliberately understated its fund-raising costs so it would have more money to spend on her campaign."

If you think that's not a big deal, here's more: Hillary accepted $850,000 from Norman Hsu, a corrupt political fundraiser who had a warrant out for his arrest before even beginning his work with Hillary. It has since been discovered that Hsu contributed money to the campaign under false names, and ran a "massive" Ponzi scheme in which donors were tricked into making large contributions on the false promise of receiving high returns. In addition, Hillary asked Hsu to fund-raise for many high ranking democrats and super-delegates (such as the governors of Iowa and New Hampshire) presumably in exchange for their endorsement of her candidacy. For example, the governor of Nevada was $450,000 in debt after his own campaign bid-- Clinton agreed to help him pay-off his debt with Hsu's corruptly collected funds and the next day he announced his endorsement of her. All of these things were proven to be false or "exaggerations", and while the ramifications of Bush's lies have been more dire, but the principle is the same. Hillary's so-called exaggerations are real and wrong, and they are no different than what Bush did to us. Are we really going to elect someone who has the same low moral compass as Bush?

Helen-- wow are you mad! You say that the Obama supporters are pissing you off, but almost everyone on the board is simply responding to inconsistencies in Hillary's statements. You, on the other hand, are basically criticizing him for being a man and making totally unfounded statements about his sex life.

I'm just wondering, have you actually listened to Wright's sermon or just the little clips they play in the news? Do you know, for example, the context surrounding him declaring "God damn America!"? I imagine this won't change your opinion, but it at least offers some perspective-- He was talking about how it is a fundamental Christian principle to treat all people equally and to reach out to help those in need, and that the bible damns murderers and those who treat others unjustly. He then talked about how White America was responsible for killing off Native Americans and kicking them out of their homeland, and for enslaving Blacks and treating them like property. He then said, "God damn America" for doing these things. He wasn't making a blanket rejection and damnation of this country, he was simply critiquing some of its actions. His message was ultimately a message urging the country to attempt to grow and change in order to reflect the teachings of the bible.

If you think that what America did to Native Americans and Blacks is consistent with the teachings of the Bible, then go ahead and call Obama despicable, as you did... But I urge you to really take some time to examine why it is that you're so uncomfortable with a Black candidate who goes to a church that is willing to critique the evil that this country has committed.

Don't get me wrong, though, I agree that some of Wright's comments are outlandish and offensive, but everyone's preacher has gotten carried away. My point is that Wright is not a simple-minded, one-dimensional, white-hating Black supremacist who merely stands in front of a congregation and spouts racist statements. Rather, he's an intelligent, articulate leader who is so passionate that he has occasionally taken things too far. I think you owe it to yourself to at least look into Wright's career so you have a better understanding of who he is and what he's about. At the very least, even if you still feel the same way about Wright, at least you'll be able to make better-informed arguments about why you don't like Obama.

Tell me anyone - ANYONE - who would not have it indelibly marked in your memory if you got off a plane and had to run inside as you heard gunshots in a war zone.

Anyone who is telling that story when the video evidence showed it didn't happen is LYING. The alleged issue is such a traumatic event that you can't mis-remember something like that. We are not talking about a non-trivial detail that you can excuse someone for getting wrong.

First: Obama's pastor has not been proven to be a racist,or hate monger, in fact for the more intellegent members of the press and individuals that have taken the time to go beyond the 20 second sound bytes, he is being proven to be a very loyal American, who served in the Marines and uses his voice to question the behavior of this country. That is what should make this country great. The ability of one of its citizens to question and critize without being labled unamerican. Second, Obama admitted to the deal and gave the details of the deal with Rezko. The way the media works if there would have been anything beyond what was reported I am sure they would have made it a point to nail his butt by now. Third, Calling the Prime Minister of Canada president is a mistake. Stop and consider what has been revealed about Hillary through her Bosnia Sniper story. She told a very vivid detailed story of how she ran through a sniper gauntlet. She even disputed Sinbad's version, which has since been proven to be true.

Hillary now says that she misspoke or got confused, or got it mixed up with some other sniper experience that she never endured either.

It now comes down to only one of two options: Either Hillary is lying or she is delusional.

If you give her the benefit of the doubt, then you have to conclude that she actually believed that the event actually happened as she described it.

We now know that it did not, so there is a reasonable chance that Hillary may actually not have a very firm grip on reality. In other words, she may be delusional.

Do you really want someone like that answering the Red Phone, and responding from a memory bank of false recollections, that she is convinced actually happened.

We are talking about the Commander in Chief position here folks, with all the awesome powers of War and Peace that position controls.

What if Hillary does not really have a firm grasp on reality. Her Bosnia Fairy Tale could lead reasonable people to conclude that might just be the case.
