Everything has to break Hillary Clinton’s way to win the Democratic nomination. That’s why video footage of her 1996 trip to Bosnia, which exposed her campaign-trail accounts of the event as flatly untrue, could hardly have come at a worse time.

The flap may even have the effect of shortening the Democratic presidential contest. Clinton aides, and her husband, have raised the prospect of a race that goes all the way to the convention in Denver, the week before Labor Day.

Neutral party strategists expect a much swifter conclusion, which the Bosnia episode—by raising doubts about her foreign policy experience--could help bring about.

This week, Clinton belatedly admitted that she "misspoke" in claiming that, as first lady, she had landed "under sniper fire" at the Tuzla airport and ran "with our heads down" to waiting vehicles on that 1996 trip. She backtracked after CBS News video surfaced, telling a very different story from the one Clinton had offered repeatedly over the past few months.

The arc of the latest controversy mimics the uproar over incendiary remarks by Obama’s pastor: a simmering issue that exploded once video evidence emerged. Obama appears, at least for now, to have weathered the storm about his pastor’s racially charged views, which marred Obama’s attempt to be a candidate who transcends race.

Now it’s Clinton’s turn to keep a problem from spinning out of control. The real story of her Bosnia visits goes to the core of her argument to Democratic voters, that her experience as first lady makes her better suited than Obama to be commander-in-chief "on day one."

Worse, it raises doubts about her trustworthiness, reinforcing one of her biggest vulnerabilities as a candidate: that her White House run is mainly a quest for political power and that she’s surrounded, as New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson put it the other day, with people who "think they have a sense of entitlement to the presidency."

Trailing in the delegate count, with far less money to spend than Obama, and running no better than even in the national polls, Clinton can ill-afford any slips. She has to demonstrate conclusively to the superdelegates who will decide the nomination that they should reverse the outcome of the primaries and caucuses, which favor Obama. It’s a high-risk strategy that risks alienating many of those she would need to defeat John McCain, including African-Americans and younger voters energized by Obama’s candidacy.

To remain a credible contender, she needs to win Pennsylvania, preferably by a substantial margin (anything less than the 10-point spread of her Ohio victory could well be seen as a setback) and then surprise him in several of the May primaries, including North Carolina, the last big state to vote.

Former President Bill Clinton has said that his wife needs to run up the score in the remaining primaries to convince superdelegates that she would be the stronger candidate against McCain and deserves their vote.

At the very least, the Bosnia story is a distraction from her attempt to rally Pennsylvania Democrats. It follows the recent collapse of her efforts to force re-dos of contest in Michigan and Florida, a blow to Clinton’s hopes of generating momentum in the final weeks of the primary season.

Given her tenacity, and her success in keeping the race going when she faced elimination in earlier primaries, some Democrats are convinced that Clinton won’t quit before the party meets in Denver, five months from now.

But that seems increasingly unlikely. A better question is whether the contest will effectively end in May or go until the primary season is over in early June.

Tad Devine, a party strategist with vast experience as a delegate counter, thinks that by June, a decisive number of superdelegates will get behind Obama, barring "an incredible run" by Clinton in the remaining states.

Since early February, at least 65 superdelegates have endorsed Obama, compared with no more than five for Clinton, giving him a victory in what Devine calls the second wave of superdelegate moves. Many of those backing Obama are fellow senators, congressmen and governors, including former Clinton allies like Richardson and Georgia Rep. John Lewis. Clinton won the first superdelegate wave, before the primaries began, in part because of longtime loyalties to herself and the former president from party activists.

The last, and potentially decisive, superdelegate moves usually come at the end of the primary season.

"My gut says there’s gonna be a third wave and Obama’s gonna win it," said Devine.

Already, leading Democrats, concerned about how the increasingly nasty primary fight is damaging the eventual nominee, have started talking about ways to bring the race to a close. Their efforts, at least for now, are largely designed to pressure Clinton not to prolong her campaign.

Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen has threatened to convene a superdelegate meeting, though such an event seems unlikely to occur. Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid said this week that he’s spoken with party chairman Howard Dean and that "things are being done" to wrap up the contest before the convention.

The Clinton camp, meantime, has tossed out a seemingly endless array of ideas to buy time and keep superdelegates from swinging behind Obama, in hopes that he will self-destruct or that popular support for his candidacy will collapse.

Bill Clinton has indicated that his wife needs to win the total popular vote to balance Obama’s edge in delegates earned in the primaries and caucuses—a remote possibility without revotes in Michigan and Florida.

Her chief strategist, Mark Penn, has suggested that what really matters is delegates won in primaries (where Clinton currently trails but could move ahead after Pennsylvania). The caucuses, where Obama has prevailed, are "undemocratic," argued another major Clinton backer, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, a national party chairman under Bill Clinton.

Over the weekend, Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana, a Clinton backer angling for a spot on the ticket with her, said the key is which candidate wins states with the most electoral votes (that would be Clinton)—a confection which insiders hooted at, since the states in the Clinton count include some, like Texas and Oklahoma, that Democrats haven’t a prayer of carrying in November.

Clinton herself pointed out this week that party rules allow all convention delegates, including those who won their seats in primaries and caucuses, to pick any candidate they want. That suggests she’s inclined to twist hundreds of arms if the delegate count gets close enough, though campaign spokesmen insist there’s no effort under way to woo switchers (and the odds of a significant number of defections is extremely remote).

In order to freeze the superdelegates over the final months of the primary season, she’ll have to cut Obama’s delegate lead (currently about 130) to fewer than 100 and narrow his popular vote advantage (about 700,000) to a tiny fraction of that, say Devine and others.

That seemed possible, as recently as last week, with Obama under fire over his pastor’s remarks and Gallup’s tracking poll showing Clinton leaping to a seven-point national lead. On the day those numbers came out, her husband was recycling, with evident delight, his line about watching "many experts dance on Hillary’s grave, repeatedly," and how she’s confounded them every time.

Now, Obama has bounced back and the band is striking up again, as a small but growing number of analysts and columnists conclude that she no longer has a realistic shot at the nomination. With no primaries or caucuses to change the subject and a TV debate, six days before Pennsylvanians vote (where questions about her experience are sure to get aired), suddenly finding herself on the defensive is the last place Clinton wants to be.

The current political climate in America, and for that matter, the political process in general is inherently vile. Generally there is more bickering and posturing than anything else! I also find distasteful that the ugly specters of race and gender have been inserted into this race. I believe that this is a test for America. Are we ready to move into a new future, to embrace change and attempt to forge a brighter future with our international counterparts? Or do we resort to the negativity and hate, and rhetoric of the past, emphasized with the barrel of a rifle? God bless America.

I'd say only in the Swamp's running hand-in-hand with Obama to the nomination dreams.

While what Hillary said was stupid and makes her look the same way, it's nothing compared to the hate speech that Obama continues to refuse to disavow.

Also, at the very least Hillary can rest assured that she didn't throw her own grandmother under the bus to try and make her scandal go away.

Totally ridiculous prediction!! OB has more problems than that!

Go Hillary!

Recovering from her sleep deprived, misspoken, rememberance of the trip to Bosnia, she mentioned that she was still the first, First Lady to visit a war zone. Hmmmm. I don't believe Hillary was the first First Lady to visit a war zone, another 'mis speak' on her part.
I think it was First Lady Pat Nixon who visited Viet Nam in 1969 with her husband, Richard.

Clinton is unfit to be president. Imagine if she succeeded in her health care bill in the 90s..then imagine that it wound up costing 20 or 30 times what she projected. Lets add that the result was so catastrophic that 4000 people died early deaths as a result. If that were the case we would conclude there is no way she could be president. Well, her only major foriegn policy decision had those exact, catastrphic results. She didnt ask if we would find Osama in Iraq, she didnt ask if invading Iraq would thwart future attacks, she didnt ask if we had an exit strategy. She voted for the war..anyone with judgement that bad does not deserve to be president of the United States of America.

Reportedly, Hillary "misspoke" more than once about her Bosnia trip. If true, then it was more than a slip of the tongue, it was an outright LIE to the American public. What else has she "misspoke" about in her quest for the presidency? Time will tell........

I think it will go all the way to the convention. You have one, defending an "uncle" of 20 years of hatred to America and whites and you have the other, blatantly lying about her abilities as commander-in-chief. These are two blunders that are not going to go away anytime soon, but will provide fodder to seek further scrutiny.

Go John!

Hillary's lies are troubling to me and should be for every Democrat. I used to support her, but now I just can't.

WHAT? The Bosnia story is NOTHING compared to Obama's PROBLEM with Wright. The Wright issue will not go away, and Obama's speech only quelled his base (i.e. media) and not the voters... In fact, that speech even raised more issues about Obama.

I personally thinks that Obama hates older white women... Hillary, her demographic support, Ferraro, his grandma. So why does Obama throw grandma off the train and then vacations elsewhere than Hawaii where she lives. I understand she is also in poor health. Obama's behavior toward his grandma is disgusting.

Obama abandoned his "white" heritage and grandma to immerse himself in his "black" heritage and give his loyalty to "uncle" Wright. Yet, Obama did not want to be seen as a "black" candidate. Now I am really questioning Obama's "judgement" and maybe his sanity.

The Clintonistas have gone too far. They are damaging the future of the Nation. It is time to call out loudly for the withdrawl of Mrs. Clinton. Hope we can start here.

Jeff, I can't begin to tell you how wrong you are about this Wright nonsense. Maybe in your part of the country, your preacher speaks for you. In many parts, they do not. Fact of the matter is that the truth about America is somewhere between where ultra-conservatives think it is, and where Rev. Wright thinks it is. As a white man, I'm ashamed that my fellow whites can't wake up when it comes to race.

Didn't HRC lie about Bosnia in her book too? Gee, with all the fire HRC is taking, for wrongly claiming to have been under sniper fire, I don't suppose that "Monica Question" to Chelsea could have come at a better time.

Why are people so eager to vote an inexperienced minority into office? They refuse to look into his past, ignore suggestions and hints of wrongdoing, and even disbelieve that he associates with his Reverend's and wife's own words.
This country has spun out of control and I see no hope for it - other than McCain.

This article is right on.
I suspect Hillary will end her run after Obama wins in NC.
She cannot overtake him once that contest is over.
Obama will will OR as well, sealing the deal before June.
Sorry Hill Fans, its over.

Um, Bette, I believe that Eleanor Roosevelt did that before Pat Nixon.

Jeffy:

What about the hate speech from Hagee and Parsley?? Has McCain disavowed their endorsements?? Especially from Hagee, who McCain sought the endorsement of??
Plus, how much of Wright's speeches were taken out of context?

And wasn't it those great REPUBLICAN religious leaders Pat Robertson and Jerry Fawell who blamed 9/11 on American homosexuals?? You know, Falwell. The guy that McCain went grovelling to for HIS endorsement.

Isn't it time for Clinton to put down her ego to pick up America ? What's wrong with her thinking ? Hillary's helpless cause is just divisive and pathetic.

Jeff, how, just how ex-ac-tly did he "throw his grandmother under the bus"? I think you didn't read or listen to his speech. Whaat he said was that his grandmother, one of the greatest people in the world to him and who loved him, a little black boy, more than anything in the world, still had her own private discriminations against blacks- which taught him from childhood that the issue is deep and complex. He wants us too to understand how deep and complex it is, and not be afraid to discuss it openly and maturely, so that we can progress. It seems you can't do that. Worse, you forgive Hillary herself's many flat out lies and harp instead about what someone else, not Obama himself, said. Get real.

Clinton in Bosnia:
Hillary was actually bending over to treat the little girl for a shrapnel wound behind the shoulder. In the next photograph she is seen to roll out of that crouched position and navigate through mortar fire impacts - she circled around back of a Serbian position to take out a machine gun nest. Later she cooked everyone in camp a home-made turkey stew (her aunts recipe) - she stirred it with her rifle butt and served it into the helmets of those starving beside her. - She really is an amazing spouse of a former President. -

Hillary's race-baiting tactics will fool only the portion of the population that would vote for her regardless of her opponent. They are blind to her incessant lies and her politics of personal destruction.

It’s amazing what happens when you hear the pastor’s quotes in the context they were delivered. See the posters comments below CNN’s Roland Martin articles:

http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2008/03/21/the-full-story-behind-rev-jeremiah-wrights-911-sermon/

http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2008/03/21/the-full-story-behind-wright%e2%80%99s-%e2%80%9cgod-damn-america%e2%80%9d-sermon/?s-%20?god-damn-america%20?-sermon/

I can’t say I subscribe to everything the pastor has said but I can say that it makes a heck of a difference when you hear them within the sermon.

This is a largely smear campaign. If they can’t nail the candidate, then they have to go after someone close to them to try to make the candidate look bad. Eventually, this story is going to come out.

Let's join together to move this country forward, and not backward into the divisive and hateful politics of the Bush/Clinton past.

Hillary, ready on day one, Clinton really stepped in a big pile of doo doo this time. She reaffirmed what most rational people have already known about her and her twin Big Bill, that her mouth is her best friend and own worst enemy. The very idea that this woman is telling mature adults that she did a belly flop on the tarmac and crawled, like a marine, for cover with a hail of bullets over her head, was almost believable. She had everybody saying "you go girl, you're bad as you wanna be." Just as bad she tells mature, rational adults that she made a mistake. That she misspoke because she was a jet lagged. In the words of her twin, William Jefferson "gimme a (fornicating) break, this whole pile of bull dooky is one great big fairy tale."

Part of her experience as first lady she does not tout, but was self evident, is the fact that she was as good as Big Bill at cleaning up doo doo.

It is a stunning and lifechanging moment when you first realize that a sniper is actually shooting at you -- not merely at a crowd of people. Mine came in Vietnam. Since then, I have felt a deep camaraderie with those who have heard the whistling of bullets passing nearby --or felt them impact within. I have likewise felt a deep distain for those who, for personal gain, claimed to have the experience when they did not.

Considering the list of Clinton lies and the fact she is trailing so badly with the popular vote and delegates... and considering that Clinton is doing the Republican Attack Machine's job for it... I strongly suspect that we'll be seeing Clinton forced out of the race sooner rather than later.

Stick a fork in her, her goose is done.

Rob H.

LOL! You people kill me. You think because Hillary said it was a mistake then that is what it was. We here in reality call it a LIE! It's ok though Hillary supporters are just a bunch of media eating drones.

ENOUGH! WHERE are our Party LEADERS? She is destroying the Party, and she won't stop!
STOP HER!

I think it was First Lady Pat Nixon who visited Viet Nam in 1969 with her husband, Richard.

Wrong.

It was Elanor Roosevelt with the troops in WWII

So, Senator Obama addresses the furor over the video showing soundbites, out of context, of Pastor Wright's most inflammatory remarks, by presenting one of the most thoughtful, intelligent speeches ever on race in America. In this speech, he explicitly disavows the distasteful comments of Pastor Wright saying that 'he hates the sin, but loves the sinner' as Mike Huckabee stated. He attacks no one (his comments about his grandmother were an example of a reality in our lives and aptly illustrated the responses of many in our society to 'the unknown black man') and does not try to turn aside from the problem posed by his relationship with Pastor Wright.

On the other hand, Hillary Clinton lied repeatedly, over several months, about her experiences in Ireland, Bosnia and Macedonia. Her response when confronted by video refuting her version of events is to first claim that she 'misspoke, then that she was tired on that one occasion, then that it was the 'first' (I counted at least 3 times on Bosnia in the video clips since December) time she misspoke in 12 years, and finally when all of those ploys fail, she tries to turn attention back to Obama and Pastor Wright. Hillary Clinton is a proven, undisputed liar over many years.

Hmmm, do I want a president that I cannot trust to tell the truth? Do I want a president who prevaricates and dissembles when confronted with unpleasant truths?

No, I want a president who confronts difficult issues head-on in an intelligent and thoughtful manner.

"While what Hillary said was stupid and makes her look the same way, it's nothing compared to the hate speech that Obama continues to refuse to disavow."

Except Obama DID disown the speech.

Jeff-

Did John McCain throw his disabled first wife "under the bus" when he divorced her to marry the younger heiress he was having an extra-marital affair with?

Time after time Americans complain that politicians are liars, frauds, self-serving, power-hungry egoists who will say anything to get elected. It never ceases to amaze me that people would really consider voting for clinton. In her case, it's not even an unknown; its a given. Those who vote for her can never again complain about politicians or how the world views ours.

Hillary Clinton did not misspeak, she outright lied. It would be nice if Obama would completely disavow Wright. The way he talks it almost seems he thinks his grandmother is more racist and hateful than his pastor.

Hilary is like the chinese. She can smile right at you, and tell you a lie. She can do, say, and give you a lot of different things, but in the end, you will realize that are all copied, or made cheaply.

I want our president to kick china back to where it belongs. They are a main reason for the undoing of our economy. Why doesn't anybody investigate that?

Below is a quote from a Mother Jones article which "outs" the latest lie from the lair-in-chief, Hilary.
She really is a monster who will do anything to get elected.

For 15 years, Hillary Clinton has been part of a secretive religious group that seeks to bring Jesus back to Capitol Hill. Is she triangulating--or living her faith?...

The Fellowship's long-term goal is "a leadership led by God--leaders of all levels of society who direct projects as they are led by the spirit." According to the Fellowship's archives, the spirit has in the past led its members in Congress to increase U.S. support for the Duvalier regime in Haiti and the Park dictatorship in South Korea. The Fellowship's God-led men have also included General Suharto of Indonesia; Honduran general and death squad organizer Gustavo Alvarez Martinez; a Deutsche Bank official disgraced by financial ties to Hitler; and dictator Siad Barre of Somalia, plus a list of other generals and dictators.

This is Hillary Clinton: Whitewater, Travelgate, Monica Lewinsky and impeachment, renting out the Lincoln bedroom, the loss of the Rose Law Firm billing records for nearly 2 years until they were miraculously found in the White House living quarters, removing files from Vince Foster’s office following his suicide and before investigators could get there. Her stalling to release her full tax returns and earmark requests from her time in the Senate, as well as her Clinton library donors. Her apology to the African American community (for her campaigns racist comments) which came days too late. Her decline to return $170,000 in campaign contributions from individuals at International Profit Associates, or IPA accused of widespread sexual harassment, and whose CEO is a disbarred lawyer with a criminal record. Lets not forget her campaign eventually returned some $850,000 to Hong Kong businessman Norman Hsu who was found to be a fugitive in a 15-year old theft case. He was indicted for fraud related to his campaign contributions in 2007. Her failed inclusion and diplomacy with congress on her universal health care bid. Her subsequent surrender and alignment to the health care industry. Her flip flop on NAFTA. Her flip flop on Iraq. Her flip flop on Florida and Michigan. Her exaggerated foreign policy experience. Her dealing the race card better than Republicans could. Clinton photo with Rezko. Clinton photo and prayer breakfast with Rev Wright. Her lie about Bosnia. Her failure to get the endorsement of close friend Bill Richardson. Her flip flop on pledged delegates and superdelegates. Encouraging party elite to vote against the will of the people - “I believe strongly that in a democracy, we should respect the will of the people and to me, that means it’s time to do away with the Electoral College and move to the popular election of our president.” - Hillary Clinton in 2000

HIllary says "You can't choose your family but you can choose your pastor."

Well, guess what Hillary, you can also choose your husband. And after yours had oral sex with an intern you still chose to stick by him. Does that mean you agree/condone what he did?

No. I'm sure you disagree strongly with what he did, yet you did not walk out on him. Yet, when Obama's pastor says something that Obama disagrees with, you expect him to walk out on his church.

Good news is, there is virtually no way for you to win the dem nomination. But guess what, if you do, I will probably vote for you since you embrace about 90% of the policies that Obama embraces (just without the same honesty or eloquent)

Also, at the very least Hillary can rest assured that she didn't throw her own grandmother under the bus to try and make her scandal go away.

Posted by: Jeff | March 26, 2008 11:59 AM

I see....Obama threw her under the bus by calling her a typical white person. EWWWWWWWWW! Shall we ask McBush why he threw his ex-wife under the bus? She becomes disabled in a cr crash, gains weight, he comes home and starts to seeing his current wife? Is that the dedication you like to see in your guy?

This is a ridiculous prediction.
Obama is unelectable.
He cannot repair the tarnish of poor judgement.
HRC's flap is so minor compared to Obama. It's time for him to do the right thing and exit the campaign.
Obama if nominated will make McGovern's loss to Nixon look like it was competitive.

OOOOps! Guess you conjoured up your article before reading today's really hot topic, today's big Rasmussen poll showing Obama's been seriously damaged.

Please educate yourself before posting next time. Obama has most certainly disavowed his pastor's statements, not that it matters to me: they are, in fact, two completely different people with two completely different opinions.

This appears to be the case of the "lesser of two evils" - Clinton or Obama. The difficult part is to determine which of these two misguided morally corrupt individuals is the "lesser"?

if i were obama, id worry more of his problem than hers people dont care about that, what they do care is about obamas problem. His campaign may end before may morte than clintons

Abs’s Jake Tapper reported yesterday on an unnamed Democratic Party official saying that it’s not a question of *if* Clinton can somehow secure the nomination. The question is -- what will she have to do in order to achieve it? The official’s answer: She will have to "break his back," to destroy Obama and make him completely unacceptable. "Her securing the nomination is certainly possible - but it will require exercising the 'Tonya Harding option.'" the official said. Read full story here - http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/03/dnc-official-cl.html).
As the Clinton campaign spins Obama as actually being the reprehensibly negative player in this competition, and the media swallowing and regurgitating the most incendiary non-issues, (consider today’s self-righteous "all I know is that if it were me personally, I would have left that church), I fear for the future of Obama’s campaign, of the Democratic party, and the United States. I’m afraid we can’t take another two months of the destructive Clinton ambition machine. Please contact the Democratic National Committee (http://www.democrats.org/page/s/contactissues) and let the party leaders no that we can’t waste any more time; the train is nearing the bridge that’s out, and it takes a lot to stop that kind of fateful momentum. Superdelegates must decide *now*, not in August, to swing behind the best candidate in our generation so that the Democratic Party can look forward to the general election in November and beyond.

Paul West - an Obama supporter - is trying to raise a misstatement about Hillary to the level of the Wright-Obama Scandal.

WHY? To get Hillary to drop out... The reason many of us are now voting for Hillary is because of the Obama-Wright Scandal.

Here's an account of the story with the former Secretary of the Army defending Hillary.

The really amazing thing about Obama's speech is that he operated on the assumption that his listeners would be capable of absorbing more than eight-second soundbites. He treated us with amazing good faith. Thankfully, polls show that most people returned his good faith and really listened to and understood him. People like Jeff who validate the status quo of politicians treating us like idiots are, thankfully, the minority.

This quote seriously made my day:

"Obama has bounced back and the band is striking up again"

and all because of an inside joke. Until then, I felt like it had only been saying what "Obama Girl" has been saying since this morning. Today has been hilarious--as far as the primaries are concerned. Iraq still sucks (to put it very mildly).

Hey McCain, are you sure you wanna keep us there for a full century...really...I mean, we've only been a country for (technically)232 years (the signing of the Declaration of Independence isn't the official beginning of the existence of the US, for the less in-the-know) do you really want us to spend the next third of our time as a sovereign state at war? C'mon!

But I digress.

Obama supports raising the upper wage limit that Social Security taxes are paid on. If you're poor like me that sounds good. Social Security is a huge part of what I pay every year and will need in a few years.

Hillary probably does too but I have never trusted her every since she wasn't sworn in as "co-president" and then botched our chance to fix health care.

McCain would probably increase the upper limit for how much Social Security pay the retired wealthy could recieve.

I'm probably wrong on all the above, I'm a voter, not a political analyst, but that's the impression I have on Social Security and I feel pretty much the same on other issues.

Obama = Hope.
Clinton = Distrust.
McCain = More of what got us here.

I'm not a big believer in hope but it looks to me like the choice available.

Greg deVeer - what a person does with a spouse is not really a concern. Actually it shows that a person is willing to work toward a goal and resolve the issue..but with Obama it shows bad judgment ..he is neither married or a relative and chooses to have him as a SPIRITUAL ADVISOR

This Clinton flub is hilariously similar to "Margaret B. Jones", a suburban girl who was recently caught having written a fake memoir about her gang-life on the streets of LA:

Do we really want a sleep deprived Hillary Clinton answering that phone at 3am???

TRUSTWORTHY ?
HILLARY IS NOT
BEAUTIFUL STORY ABOUT BOSNIA.
I had some respect for her....NOT ANY MORE
UNWORTHY TO BE PRESEDENT.

I firmly agree with the post by Sally, who strongly disagreed with the idea that Obama threw his Grandma "under the bus." Give me a break. Don't insult our intelligence. That wasn't his point. His point was that his grandmother, like most white people, is not a racist, and also loves him tremendously. Yet regardless, she still submits from time to time, to fears and stereotypes that seem almost unavoidable given our past and present social situation, including the impact of the media. He wasn't deamonizing her at all. He was talking about reality. I sometimes wonder where those who are so shocked by Wrights remarks, have lived all these years? NOt that I endorse his remarks at all, but i'm certainly not shocked by them.Nor do I assume that Obama must agree with him by association. Boy, could I be condemned by many from going to Catholic Church or being married by my uncle, a priest. Hillary Clinton's hypothetical response about how she would handle Wright is juvenile and desperate. Don't give me hypotheticals, please, esp. not during a campaign. Do we know who her preaches were? What they've said over the years? However, I don't fault Hillary as much about her remarks about being under fire. She may have exaggerated, but who knows how tramatic even just similar situations can feel to someone who's not military trained-- it's hard enough for those who are trained.

Both democratic candidates have aroused suspicion of their credibility. Embellishing their accomplishments seems to be a democratic trait - remember John Kerry?

Let me see Obama said he will stand up against Bush then he votes to funding in Iraq...he said he does not have the experience to run for President then he throws his hat into the ring..he said he only got 125,000 (?) from Renzko but then it came out later there is more money...he said I was against Iraq (not a senator at the time no vote) then when asked he said I do not know how I would vote...he said I was not present when statements I was told of them
but admits later he was around when controversial statements were made...he said I will help with you Nuclear waste issue to his voters then he waters down the leg so that it has no affect at all and the nuclear plant is a big contributor and he does not take corporate funding...all lies but Obama is all about honesty and truth at least that is what he claims and built his platform on...

The race is over now. Hillary is just as dillusional about it as she is about the sniper fire in Bosnia. Go Obama!

"The Chicago Tribune" aka "The Voice of Obama."

The difference between the two is Wright 'misspoke'not Barack Obama. In Hillary Clinton's case it is she herself who 'misspoke'.

People forget that Wright is Obama's Spiritual advisor...this is more complex then just a pastor..a spiritual advisor meets regularly and helps a person grow in thoughts, actions and way of life...several years of this type of mentality mentoring Obama that is bad..how much influence did Obama actually gain from Wright...no one really knows and comments like "your typical white woman" is a little insight into Obama's thanking...if you said a typical black woman how many problems would this cause...

Hillary claims that she 'misspoke' because of sleep deprivation. Can you imagine the danger for our country of having her answering that 3 AM phone call? She is unfit for the President position, and she'll always be.

I just read Hillary's pastor's sermon on Easter Sunday speaking rather well of Rev. Wright in an insightful talk about race relations. I also read that Hillary stayed home on Easter so it's too bad she didn't hear his message. When reading the outrageous snippets of Wright's speeches one should make sure the entire speech is heard/read. I don't defend these outrages but there is more to his story that may be worth hearing.

Just Words…

Hillary Clinton – Comes across as someone who believes she is entitled to the Presidency because she is wife to Bill Clinton. But she is obviously a tough person who will fight until the last drop to get her way. Problem is she does not care about the path of destruction her fight ends in. As long as she takes the opponent down she will be happy even if she loses.

She likes to bash the media trying to mimic Obama by saying ‘Just Words’ but she should be careful because we can all see she has lied about numerous qualifications on her fictitious ‘resume’ about experience. She blatantly LIES. For instance:

Foreign Policy: Bosnia visit and Macedonia & Ireland Peace Talks

Bosnia was a flat out lie (I knew that before it was blasted in video). Clinton was never under any direct or indirect threat and was greeted by staff, children and guest without body armor or any kind.

Ireland Peace Talk negotiations. Clinton delivered a speech and helped with lunch arrangements. She had no significant role in the negotiation process. Basically delivered a speech, ate lunch and left.

Arrived the day after Macedonia negotiations yet claims to have been a part of this process also.

NAFTA: according to Hillary’s own White House documentation she played a significant role in the NAFTA discussions and promoted NAFTA as the best thing since sliced bread. Some members of congress are quoted saying she ‘shoved’ NAFTA down everyone’s throats. But…secretly behind closed doors she despised it…hmm

Wasted taxpayers $ in secret health plan negotiations (1993-1994) with handpicked members of the health care industry. Then caved into the health care lobbyist and received funds after her 1st attempt to secure universal healthcare. Now she wants to push the same plan forcing everyone to purchase into a ready made plan that will likely favor the industry and bankrupt American citizens. But…secretly behind closed doors she despised it…hmm

Iraq War supported the war from day one by going along with the general consensus instead of standing firm against a war that has practically bankrupted America and has killed 4000 American soldiers. Many of them younger than 25. Over 80, 000 Iraqi people have been killed to date.

“Just Words is not a phase that Hillary Clinton should be making fun of. Because obviously the only words she knows how to speak are lies. If we hired her based on her ‘resume’ we would have to impeach her for lying about her qualifications.

Still don't get why so many journalists write these editorials in hopes of Clinton's fall...

I hate but can't help wonder.... is it gender discrimination?

If today it's a male candidate who's strong and tenatious, I doubt that the feedback and sentiments from the journalists would be so negative.

It's sad taht the US that prides itself on being a country of freedom, liberty and equality could not stand having a powerful strong female presidential candidate. It's time to take some lessons on EQUALITY from the rest of the world...

She didn't 'misspeak', she 'misremembered'. She's delusional in puffing up her role in everything - and believing her own PR.

We can't afford a President who's not totally in touch with reality.

McCain will never get us out of Iraq, as a matter of fact he is likely to authorize a resurge. Clinton LIED about Bosnia, she LIED about NAFTA, she LIED about North Ireland. Obama's pastor made the statements not HIM...WAKE UP PEOPLE...NO TO BUSH 3(I.E.McCain Presidency), NO TO BUSH/CLINTON DYNASTY (They have enjoyed the Lincoln room for over 28 damn years). These two families have systematically divided and sepearated this country with their elitist political agendas.

Democrats should try to think positively if they want to win the White House in order to bring the international recognition back to the world's frontline democracy. The best contribution by Hillary Clinton towards the above is to quit the race and support wholeheartedy Barack Obama who is for CHANGE that is what the Americans dream of.
Lafir

What is wrong with all of us, when did we stop thinking and become juggaurnauts of fear and reprisal. There is lack of civility among us that goes beyond the candidates we support. I am afraid this election is more about the darkness in our soul than it is about electing a president. How did this grEAT american story deteriorated into such a horrible nasty infighting. A woman and a black man could become our possible president. If you are medium income or poor white person, asian, latino, native American or black. The election of one of these candidates will have made it real for all American that their children and grand children can truely become president of these United states. People wake up and vote your hopes and dream for a better America than the one we inherited. God Bless us that we don't vote in the dark night of the Sou;l because only blood shed can restore the light. God bless us all.

Quote "Over the weekend, Indiana Gov. Evan Bayh, "
(around the 25th paragraph)
Since when has Evan Bayh been the Governor of Indiana? Uhh, That would be Mitch Daniels. . .Nice mistake, kind of like Hilary's. .
Obama has my Vote.

Regardless, of the exact details Bosnia is not a country one goes to vacation. There might not have been fighting at her location but I am sure there was chaos somewhere else nearby. Its a dangerous country especially during that period any visit there should be considered dangerous. So lets either get the focus back of solving America's problems or why Obama would choose a man that sounds like Louis Farrakhan as his spiritual advisor

How about this for experience and 3 AM call. Candidate Clinton is prone to error because she is sleep deprived .. how about someone like that answering that 3 AM call..! Oops I made a mistake by nuking a country which I felt had problem and sniper fire greeted me - but what the hell it aint as bad as the Wright Story ..!

She claims she he wouldn't be her pastor - yeah right - right wing conspiracy can only be used to excuse my husband..!

She has proven beyond a shadow of doubt that you dont automatically get to share experience with husband (as governer or president) - experience is not Marital Asset... that can be shared :)

I am praying for a 3 AM call to wake up Clintons - its about time that they (both the Clintons) quit!

“And the United States of America government, when it came to treating her citizens of Indian descent, she failed. She put them on reservations.”

“When it came to putting her citizens of Japanese descent fairly, she failed. She put them in interment prison camps.”

“When it came to putting the citizens of African descent fairly, America failed. She put them in chains. The government put them on slave quarters. Put them on auction blocks. Put them in cotton fields. Put them in inferior schools. Put them in substandard housing. Put them scientific experiments. Put them in the lower paying jobs. Put them outside the equal protection of the law. Kept them out of their racist bastions of higher education, and locked them into positions of hopelessness and helplessness.”

“The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three strike law and then wants us to sing God Bless America. Naw, naw, naw. Not God Bless America. God Damn America! That’s in the Bible. For killing innocent people. God Damn America for treating us citizens as less than human. God Damn America as long as she tries to act like she is God and she is Supreme.”

Lots of people, usually military people, have dodged sniper fire. That doesn't make them qualified to be President of the U.S. Whether Hillary dodged it or not, is to me irrelevant.

Whether Hillary lies once in a while is also irrelevant. Why? Because all politicians lie. All of them. No honest politician would last in that game long enough to reach the possibility of becoming president. If they don't lie and cheat sufficiently, and play the good ol' boys game right, their own party will spend hard cash to run them off and see them defeated. So I think it's fair to say that all of the candidates are liars in varying degrees. The American voters have proven that they prefer people who are the best of the best at lying, but really, does lying get the job done? So why don't we judge on other criteria?

Clinton was impeached, and then acquitted. Does acquitted mean nothing in this country that likes to punish people until they moment they die for the smallest indiscretion? That being because the vast majority of us are so perfect we hurt God's eyes when He looks upon us.

Even had Clinton not been acquitted, how is it Hillary's or any wife's fault when her husband can't control his little head?

Why do people continue to berate Hillary because she didn't throw all of Bill's things out on the White House lawn and stomp over to the first lawyer and accuse him of all manner of things like any white trash would? Did it occur to anyone that since there was already a 3-ring circus in progress, Hillary decided we were already a big enough laughing stock to the rest of the world without adding to it herself? And that maybe she was then and still is trying to obey the Word of God which so many people claim to follow but know nothing about? God does not accept divorce. Read it for yourself in the New Testament of the King James Bible. It's all there. God does not appreciate or reward hate mongers or people who purposely try to make trouble. Once you're married, as promised before God, it's for better or worse.

However, someone who spends 20 years listening to hate speech, that not only runs white people down, but also runs women of all colors down, and at the pulpit in the sanctuary yells to God: "God Damn America!" is another matter.

How many people earn as much as the Pastor Wright in this country? How many live in as fine a home as he? How many people are as poor as the Obama's claim to be? Have you seen their tax returns? How many people in this country attended Harvard Law School? Those poor black folks have all of these things, yet they are whining about how terrible they have it.

The black people involved in this campaign who have all these blessings thanks to America, are berating America and yelling to God to "Damn America." What is their complaint when they are doing better than 90% of the people, regardless of color, in this country? They want us all to feel sorry for them when they are better off than most of us!

Not only did Obama listen to this swill for 20 years, but he took his two little girls to listen during their most impressionable years. Why is this better than Skin Heads? Or KKK? None of these groups are killing people anymore so far as we know, but they are still spreading hate. Why is it OK for blacks to spread hate, in their churches no less, than for a few misguided whites to do the same?

Obama seems to have used very poor judgment in hanging around the wrong people, and Pastor Wright isn't the only one. How about that real estate deal? Obama hasn't even gotten close to the White House and already they need a special counsel for this guy.

There may be white people who behave the way Obama's grandmother did, but I am not one of them, nor has anyone behaved in such a way in my presence. I find it insulting that he lumps everyone together. Isn't that one of the complaints black people have? That we judge them all by a few, and often the most questionable few?

Frankly, I'm disgusted with this whole campaign year and everything having to do with it. Will be good when it's over no matter who is the winner.

All these people saying "I'm tired of the negative comments by the candidates" are "head in the sand voters". Give me information, I'll decide if its relevant or true. More information, negative or positive, is information that I would like to see. Freedom of speech baby, gotta love it !

Doubts about her foreign policy experience? Obama has none.

At least she has been to 80 nations on behalf of America.

See you at the Convention.

sally @12:35pm -- if only more people like you were around who understand that complex ideas and issues are not composed of a sentence or a string of sentences pasted together. the larger question requires hard work in absorbing all of what a person is expressing. by and large, the people who post on these message boards refuse to do anything but take the easy way out. depressing...

Gotta say, all things considered, if I were a Democrat I would still go for Obama. Sure, he's a racist. You don't spend 20 years in a church like that unless something being said resonates with you. But how much damage can he do? I see a vote for Obama as an affirmative action vote to end affirmative action. Enough race hustlers like J. Wright have been spewing forth this venom for long enough that many blacks believe it. there truly is a crisis of spirit inthe black community, even though for the past 30 years they have brought this largely on themselves. Maybe with an Obama in office, they will step down from their pedestal of sanctification through victimization to join the rest of humanity. As for Hillary? She's beneath contempt. How you Democrats let her get to where she is is beyond me. You should be ashamed. Obama I can understand. He's a garden variety racist. Indeed, if anything, he is the product of 40 years' worth of Democratic Balkanization. Hillary is a criminal. But, since I think that most Democrats are criminals any way, maybe you guys should go ahead and choose her to be your nominee. She seems to better reflect the core values of Democrats: divide, conquer, Balkanize, lie, trash America, pander, bread and circuses....ad nauseum...

Wow, look at all the 'kool-aid' cups lying on the ground here. The Billary loyalists are swarming around the hive to protect their Queen.

I particularly enjoy the comments about how "Obama secretly hates White people" - Nickberry

Wow, how insightful. You really have your finger on the pulse of the campaign season. That must be some secret to keep though?

QP "It's sad that the US prides itself on being a country of freedom, lberty and equality couldn't stand having a powerful strong female presidential candidate"
- what's sad is that the US can't find but 2 families with which to select a "powerful strong female presidential candidate" Would you feel the same way about Chelsea Clinton in 2016? Why or Why not? Jenna Bush in 2024?

I've heard the election process compared to choosing a CEO, (not my comparison). If that's the case, when has anyone ever hired the wife of the former CEO? What would qualify her to run a major company?

I pray god that it ends this contest SOONER THAN MAY.

HILLARY - PLEASE GO AWAY AND LEAVE US ALONE !!!

As an independant, I'm not happy with all 3 candidates. Obama won't denounce Wrights comments for what they really were - RACIST, Clinton is an outright liar / fraud, and McCain seems to be drifting to the far right. It may come down to voting for the candidate whom is the least offensive.

"I personally thinks that Obama hates older white women..."

I think you have that backward, Older white women Hate Obama... because they grew up in a time of segregation.

African American knew their place back in those days, such as the back of the bus, and separate washroom that said "White Only". Suddenly that all change when civil right came into their lives. Now not only do they get to sit anywhere on the bus, but they can use the toilets anywhere.

I'm sure those older white women wish for days gone by and hope that Hillary will bring back the good old days.

"Why are people so eager to vote an inexperienced minority into office? They refuse to look into his past, ignore suggestions and hints of wrongdoing, and even disbelieve that he associates with his Reverend's and wife's own words.
This country has spun out of control and I see no hope for it - other than McCain.

Sound like you're a racist. Why use the term minority? Do you consider yourself the majority?

pauls bias comes thru quite clear in this article. WHy on earth would Hillary quit. She won Texas, Ohio, and is going to win PA and WV in landslides. What it really comes down to is if the Obama campaign is successful in repressing revotes in Florida and Michigan. If those 2 states votes are allowed to vote she can win, if they are told their vote doesnt matter than she probably can not. However I dont think the Obama sheep like the author of this article realize just how bad the Wright flap has hurt him and it will be a HUGE issue come November. Also the fact that 30% of Hilalry supporters say that they will vote McCain over Obama just gives even less optimism for an Obama campaign in November. I think you are reading way too much into the Bosnia flap and not nearly enough into both the lie Obama told on MSNBC and FOx News, and the fact that he stayed in a hate filled church for 20 years and even brought his kids to hear that garbage week after week. How do you think that is going to play come Nov? The only people that are not bothered by it are Obama supporters who would back him if he supported Hitler. All independants and the non sheep are put off by the Wright controversy and it even shows more as Wright is canceling every event he has since. The Obama campaign will not be able to hide him forever and by disenfranchising voters in both Florida nad Michigan he is just giving those states to McCain in NOv.

Folks lets not forget that our goal is to win for Democrats. Republicans have destroyed this country and will take a long time to recover. President alone will not succeed. We need congress and senate. Clinton and Obama are consuming potential democrat funds and will leave much less for others. Super delegate should start to commit so that we have funds for senate ( remember supreme court). as I see that there will be no difference in June but two damaged candidates and lot less funds for democrats. At this point I see Clinton doing more damage, by telling that McCain will be bette than Obama, a fellow democrat. Whose idea was to have one month break?

I believe that all the conversation over the speech by Obama's pastor is pretty uneventful. If you are going to crucify someone over the words of another, who does that make you think of. Who was crucified over another's words? We, all of us, have to be intelligent enough to disseminate truth and to form our own opinions. we take from others' words what is meaningful, discard the rest. That is what intelligent people do. I would challenge every citizen to truthfully say that they agree with everything that their own pastor has ever said. Imagine, if everyone did agree with that, race would be so much less an issue today, since most Americans consider themselves Christians. And as Christians who listen and agree with their pastors, they are not racists......
Think. Free speech is one of the rights guaranteed by the constitution. No one has to agree with what is said, but, just because they listen, can they be held accountable??? Should they??

"Hilary is like the chinese.

Wow what a racist rant.

Now it's the Chinese that screw up this country.

The sub prime mortgage and WAL MART screwed up this country, not the Chinese.

She has to go. I have had enough Clintons for the rest of my life. Why is it so hard to move this country forward. All these young people voting for Obama, they will not swing over to Hillary even if she would get the nod.

now i understand how hillary could forgive bill clinton for lying to the country and being immoral, she is just as big a liar as her husband and probably just as immoral

if Obama is the nominee he will never win the general election. The republicans are notorious for finding dirt, ie: Kerry...snd with his supporters like Farrakan and Wright they'll find plenty....
BUT...If Obama does win the election be prepared for an Islam nation and girls, what sizes do Burkas come in?

Congrats dems! you've got your "dream" team...they've single (or double) handedly made about any and every blunder that they or we could have "dreamed" up. For the life of me though, I just can't understand how you guys didn't see this coming. Didn't any of you Obama fans bother to read any deeper that the sound-bite headlines or spins placed on the air by supportive fans in the press? Or...didn't any of the Hillary clan at least suspect any truth issues? What should have been a slam dunk year for the Dems and their chance to re-claim the presidency (at least for one term)has turned into their worst nightmare...and who's to blame? Oh well, what can you expect from the party that selected "the screamer" as their leader and a scorned, angry woman and a fringe element liberal man as their candidates? As an ex-dem, again congrats (and for those of you capable of actually thinking for your self, you might consider re-aligning yourself with organizations with agendas that actually reflect moderate/thinking mentalities!)

Clinton will remain on the defensive because the media will make sure of it. Hasn't it dawned on people that the media decides which stories are "news", and they will continue to flog Bosnia and ignore Rev. Wright because they hate Clinton and love Obama. It is the voters who should decide the democratic nominee, not the pundits and analysts. If Clinton "lied" about Bosnia, didn't Obama "lie" about being in the pews when Rev. Wright spewed his hate message (first he wasn't in the pews, then he was, then he was but he didn't hear the really bad stuff - oh c'mon!) Why didn't Ron Paul's comments on CNN that Obama is a fraud - just compare his voting record to his "lies" on the campaign trail - get any traction with the press? Because the press is falling all over themselves to help Obama win the nomination. Obama will never get my vote.

10-1 they fix it so Billary wins the nomination, regardless. Michigan & Florida will come into play, swinging the nomination her way.

Its 3 am..
Ring ring....
Huh...what....drop the bomb ?...ok...

Wait...

I think I just mis-spoke...again...

doh

The truth has been out for a long time; Hillary, like Bill, is a LIAR, but the Clintons are masters of deception and deciet, so we'll see. The best thing that can happen to the Republicans is for the Democratic Party to throw Obama under the bus.

The Bosnia slip just speaks volumes about Hilliary's mind set. Not once but at least three times she lied of her adventure. The news reel just kills her on this on.
Time to resign, support Obama and bring the Dems back together. It could save her political career for head of the senate.

Now that Hillary Clinton has been nailed in an outright fabrication of her role in Bosnia, it is time to remind ourselves of another, even more galling fantasy that Hillary tried to sell the voters.

After 9/11, Hillary had a problem. New Yorkers were desperately focused on their own needs for protection and they were saddled with a Senator who was not one of them -- an Arkansasn or was it a Chicagoan?
Interviewed on the "Today" show one week after 9/11, she spun an elaborate yarn. The kindest thing we could say was that it was a fantasy. Or a fabrication.

She said that Chelsea was jogging around the World Trade Center on 9/11 and happened to duck into a coffee shop when the airplanes hit. She said that this move saved Chelsea's life. But Chelsea told Talk magazine that she was in a friend's apartment four miles from ground zero when the first plane hit. Her friend called her, waking her up, and told her to turn on the TV. On television, she saw the second plane hit, disproving Hillary's claim that "she heard the plane hit. She heard it. She did."

So why did Hillary make up the story about Chelsea? Most likely to was because her co-senator (and implicit rival for the voter's affection), a real New Yorker Chuck Schumer spoke of his daughter, who attended Stuyvesant High School (Dick's alma mater) located next to the TRade Center, being at real risk on 9/11. Hillary needed to make herself part of the scene.
She invented the entire story on national television, the "Today" show, and didn't blink an eye.

Her fabrication on the "Today" show was no unique foray. It is her standard M.O.. It gives us pause in evaluating all of her stories and calls into question her entire credibility.

The Iraq war is Bush's War, Let Him and McCain and there backers finance and fight it. He doesnt need to be president for that. Its Bush's faught why there is Terroist and unrest in Iraq. Why do we all have to pay ? The Arabian countries are buying large stakes in our failing banks lets use our money to stop them.

why not leave Hillary alone, every day you folks tell lies. Those that without SIN cast the first stone. how many of you are not lieing right now. Hillary is the BEST CANADATE to be NOMINATED for PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, I believed some of you are very jealous of her, dont you think OBAMA have a BIGGER PROBLEM then Hillary, with hs PASTOR, I am sure Hillary have more class then that, leave her alone she is a wonderful lady, you women out there should be ashamed of yourself the way you try to humiliate Hillary, just like you're not a female yourself. you give hillary a chance she will represent women much better then any men would do, women you know that too. so you all females think about what you are doing to your own gender that includes your daughters one day they might want to run for High office I amsure you would want the women of America to vote for her, Remember ladies what goes around comes around, you are only causing the younger women to believe there's no place for them in high office, you are killing your own daughters dreams, what a poor example for the girls of the USA. I admonish you to stop it and immediately

I am tired of all those election year PR.
In my opion, OB's campaign bothers me even more than HRC's. I don't see how they can unify the country from each of their destructive "flip-flop" type of actions. And I see clearly in my own eyes how much difference between OB's highly polished image vs his team's actions.

I will have to vote GOP if OB was the nominee and I know I won't be the only one.

Different from the writer of the article, I'd like to see OB quitting to help the party. Then at least he can gain my respect.

For those that would like to see Jeremiah Wright sermons in context and see why sound bites and only parts distort reality

http://youtube.com/watch?v=0T6-O8GIylQ

http://youtube.com/watch?v=cdfbWSJINhg

By the way, i'm white if this does make a difference for some!

Hillary's declaration that pledged delegates are free to vote as they please amounts to her giving her permission to switch for her delegates from Ohio who are royally PO'd at her because it has now been proven via video tape and her own schedule that she lied to them about her early work in support of NAFTA.

Combine that with the new clear cut evidence of her ongoing problem with the truth and I could see a few Clinton delegate defections coming soon.

dellee, What a person does with a spouse is not a concern? Tell that to former candidate Jack Ryan. I guess what you mean is that it only counts when it isn't your candidate.

Oh, and thanks for the heads-up on that "spiritual advisor" business. I'm still waiting for somebody to tell me what he said that was so bad. "God damn America"? We hear that every other day from white TV preachers who blame everything from 9/11 to Katrina to the Iraq war dead on gays, secular government, and Hollywood. That's your big issue?

People are forgetting. Hillary is the victum here. I can't understand the attack on Hillary. Both Bill Clinton and Obama admits useing Marijuana. I think Obama even admitted to trying Cocaine. Both Hillary and Bill Clinton have a family together. If they didn't have children, then, it would have been good for her to leave Bill. Why should Hillary leave Bill?

Hillary admits that she over exxagerated on her Bosnia trip. To be a good Lawyer you must over exxagerate, verbally. But don't misslead people or lie in writing.

Last week, Clinton's pastor, Dean Snyder, the Senior Minister of United Methodist Foundry Church, said:

"The Reverend Jeremiah Wright is an outstanding church leader whom I have heard speak a number of times. He has served for decades as a profound voice for justice and inclusion in our society. He has been a vocal critic of the racism, sexism and homophobia which still tarnish the American dream. To evaluate his dynamic ministry on the basis of two or three sound bites does a grave injustice to Dr. Wright, the members of his congregation, and the African-American church which has been the spiritual refuge of a people that has suffered from discrimination, disadvantage, and violence. Dr. Wright, a member of an integrated denomination, has been an agent of racial reconciliation while proclaiming perceptions and truths uncomfortable for some white people to hear. Those of us who are white Americans would do well to listen carefully to Dr. Wright rather than to use a few of his quotes to polarize. This is a critical time in America's history as we seek to repent of our racism. No matter which candidates prevail, let us use this time to listen again to one another and not to distort one another's truth."

This is petty next to Obama's problem. That problem being he speaks uniting of all races and Americans, but attends a church, along with his wife and children, that teaches division of races, black supremacy and Anti-American sentiment.
And as far as Clinton and Bosnia, it does not even come close to Obama and his mentor and grandmother! Matter of fact, at least she has been to war torn Bosnia, as well as other war zones and 80 countries! How many war zones has Obama been in? Heck, how many countries has he even been to? This story just makes us recognize, again, that Obama has no experience to be President. None. So that left unity and judgement! And Obama, by his own choice, blew his "unity" and "judgement" campaign to pieces! May? Let's wait until ALL vote! It will be Clinton that is going to carry the large majority and become the nominee. And rightfully so! She cares and represents ALL Americans!

Well I think both candidates have problems. Until the Sniper lie, I supported Hillary, and to date this is the only thing that she has really done wrong in my eyes. But it is a doozy. You do not recall sniper fire with a smile on your face on st patty's day, and then laugh about it! If she ever heard a sniper round she would not smile or laugh. And worse than her lie was her reaction when getting caught! If she said something like, 'WOW! I really am ashamed that I misspoke so greatly, and so much so that this will forever be seen as a lie, whether I meant it or not, and I take full reponsibility. I apologize, and hold myself accountable,' and then offer her excuse, and it better be a damn good one! I could back peddle a little for her. But I am shocked!

If the MEDIA would have done a background check last year on Obama like they shined the spotlight on Hillary for the past 16 years, the voters would have KNOWN about Rev Wright and Obama would not have been SLIGHTLY ahead at this point. Heck Edwards probably would have been in the race longer than Obama! For all ranting the Obama bloggers like to spew on Hillary, their candidate is ahead by only 1-2%! So are you so SCARED that the MEDIA will finally find something that makes Obama truly unelectable that you can't wait to see what the VOTERS in the final primaries think of Obama's electability??? If this were the INDY 500 Obama would be declared the winner on lap 300, or the Giants would have just given the Super Bowl trophy to the Patriots before the game was over! Check out the Gallup poll! (47%-46%).

For anyone that wants to bring up the Rev Wright issue, I suggest watching his entire sermon instead of the just the clip they show on tv, and then watching the entire Obama speech on race. Once I did that, I changed my mind about Obama and will now be voting for him instead of Hilary.

I suggest anyone who takes politics seriously do the same.

leadership is something people cannot stop. Lets see who'll it be?. remenber 3 are involved and only but one will seat and yet will show faults no matter how pretty-looking it represented.

It is ironic how Obama can misrepresent/misstate his credentials but noone seems to care. Have you read the article in the Hill press about Obama's "missing" State Legislative records or his non-accomplishments as a Community Activist. Obama might win the nomination, but in the end his supporters will learn what most of America already know, Obama is no different from other politicians. He will do or say whatever it takes to get elected. HOPE will soon turn to REALITY.

IN RETROSPECT - IMAGINE THIS HEADLINE NEWS: US FIRST LADY, DAUGHTER UNDER SNIPER FIRE IN BOSNIA.

Thank God she ‘saved’ this lie until now that she is “ready to be Commander-in-Chief from day one.”

Imagine what a tragedy it would have been if she had called Mr. President at “3.00am” from Bosnia at that time, saying: ‘Darling, we are under sniper fire in Bosnia,’ then suddenly, the entire world media goes awash with the screaming headlines: US FIRST LADY, DAUGHTER UNDER SNIPER FIRE IN BOSNIA.

Oh my God, Bill Clinton would have ordered US war planes to swoop on Bosnia immediately, in order to save his wife and daughter. The entire world would have switched sympathy towards the safety and well-being of the amiable first lady and her beautiful daughter, and guess what, no one would have cared a hoot, if that little 9 year old girl, including all those who came with flowers to welcome the first lady and her daughter had been killed by US war planes for nothing.

Thank you, Lord, for sparing the life of that little girl and the lives of all those who came to welcome the first lady and her daughter by ‘gagging’ her mouth until now.

Oh boy, that little girl should be about 21 years old now, hopefully alive to hear what would have happened to her 12 years ago.

let us face facts, Obama did not MISSPEAK but his pastor wherever it was Clinton dat LIED more dan once.Sincerely, the earlier clinton drops out the better for the democratic party.

These Obama supporters saw his momentum is going to collapse and wanted to change the game now. Sure, it is fair question whether Hillary can win enough delegates to get the nomination. But it is equivalently important to ask whether Obama can win enough delegates to get the nomination. The truth is none of them can win enough delegates. So Obama guys (make sure including Obama’s secret weapon Pelosi) want to change the rule that who wins more delegates at the end, regardless enough or not, who wins the nomination.

America cannot afford a Clinton in the Whitehouse. The global effects of the Bush administrations unmitigated disasters have not really begun in earnest. At the very very least, Obama will in some small way regain a litle of the respect that America has lost worldwide. The economy is in the most trouble it has ever been. And the bills are only starting to come in. You cannot be the owner of anything with trillions of US dollars in debt. After the Iraq debacle, the rest of the world just wants the Great superpower US to go stick it's head in the sand for about 500 years until it learns how to behave. Maybe, just maybe, if the states were to elect an actually decent man as prez for a change you have a future that is not emmbedded in poverty and crime, racism and terroris... time will tell.

let us face facts, Obama did not MISSPEAK but his pastor wherever it was Clinton dat LIED more dan once.Sincerely, the earlier clinton drops out the better for the democratic party.

I THINK ITS TIME FOR CHANGE WHETHER BLACK OR WHITE WE ARE AMERICANS.DIRT IS ALWAYS BROUGHT UP WHEN PEOPLE RUN FOR PRESIDENT....WELL GUESS WHAT THEY ARE HUMANS TOO. HILLARY LIED. IF U LIE YOULL STEAL THATS WHAT I WAS TAUGHT.OBAMA REACHES A VAST MAJORITY OF YOUNG INSPIRED PEOPLE. HIS PASTOR HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS BELIEFS AS A MAN GIVE. AND PLEASE DONT FORGET ALL WAS NOT WELL WHEN BILL WAS IN OFFICE SHE WILL FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF HER HUSBAND THINK ABOUT IT BEEN WITH YOUR HUSBAND OR WIFE FOR 20 YEARS YOU GROW INTO ONE WHEN YOU GO VOTE IN NOVEMBER PRAY FIRST THAT YOU DIDNT PICK THE WRONG ONE.

After reading several of these comments, so many nasty, hateful, ignorant comments, I wonder have we lost track of the fact that this is our country, the United States of America, we're talking about. Have we forgotten that what we should want is what's best for this country. Obviously, individuals differ on what we think is best. I think it's best that we not put McCain in office because he will just continue each and every one of Bush's failed policies ad infinitum. And I don't believe that's best for this country. I will vote for the Democrat who gets the nomination, because I believe our country is desperately in need of retooling. Shouldn't we want what's best for our country first, and put political party affiliation dead last? In my opinion, anyone who believes it is best to put McCain in office to continue the downward spiral war mongering economy ruining mess that George Bush affected during his years in office is putting party first and country last. And I think that is just plain wrong. Why don't we quit the name calling, the juvenile name calling, and get back to loving this country and doing what is right for this country. What is right for this country, in my opinion, is to elect a Democrat. Let us not pit Democrat against Democrat and make empty threats of saying we'll vote for McCain if Hillary doesn't get the nomination. It's wrong. PUT YOUR COUNTRY FIRST PEOPLE OR THERE WILL BE NO COUNTRY LEFT. YES, IT IS THAT SERIOUS.

Hillary only stopped telling her Bosnia tall tale because she was caught telling a big lie. She has been telling and retelling this BS story since December! It's plausible that she could "misspeak" once, but not MULTIPLE TIMES, and not after Sinbad and others on the same trip questioned her. ONLY AFTER THE TAPE CAME OUT did she claim to "misspeak."
Hillary will do or say ANYTHING to get back to the White House, the consequences be damned.

Let's stop the madness within the Democratic Party both candidates are qualified they should unite and get on one ticket and discuss within the party and each other who should be on top. We need a change and a ticket with Sen Barack and Sen Clinton would definately take down the Republican dilema this country is enduring.

Clinton has fooled herself and once again brought ignominy and stigma to the people that trust in her.

She doesn't have the interest of the Americans at heart. I feel she wants to be a number one political profiteer. She is a high profiled liar. Shame!
Chris!

"Misspoke"?

What kind of Orwellian doublespeak is that?

She lied. Plain and simple.

And what she lied about was vital, because she used the lie (and the false credentials it claimed) to make a false comparison between Obama's experience and her own.

She lied and she was caught in the lie. She isn't going to get out of this by simply trying to divert attention to Obama's past problems. Her lie a serious matter. It reflects badly on both her character and her credentials. The quicker she admits that, and stops trying to laugh it away, the better.

Unerlying Hillary Clinton's continuing divisive presence in the primary race is unspoken but overwhelming racism. Why is it that only Obama has "to transcend race"? When are we going to see this requirement made of white candidates?

why are the repubs wanting obama to get the nod--come on folks-they know deep inside mccain will beat obama like a rented mule-but if clinton gets there she will be the next prez

We Buy pledge delegate vote. that is sign clintonite are carrying now.
what she is saying the her pledge dosent mean anything including her health care plane. it can be sold later on

Totally on the mark prediction...the waters are churning in Obama's favor and the Bosnia flap will just move things along faster...
While the Main Stream Media has been hashing over juicy tidbits of political slime..
A slow and steady stream of superdelegates have been marching over to Obama's side...and nobody seems to have taken note....until now..Just watch...a new wave of superdelegates will come out for Obama...one by one they will trickle into Obama's favor...
Right on the mark with this article Paul!

Have you taken a look at Obama's "flubs". Oh, I forgot, he is held to a different standard because he is an inexperienced freshman senator who's only foreign policy experience is his childhood experience in Indonesia. Obama even has to lie about bills that he didn't pass in the US senate to try and put something in his very thin resume. Oh, what is that I hear? He was a state legislator for six years? When is he going to release those records? I know, he doesn't have any records to release because he didn't do much as a state legislator!

Dear Hillary and Bill:
I want my campaign donations back. I can't trust you. Horrible, I was so blind. That's my fault. Lying to America: That's your fault.
Going to vote differently in Pennsylvania.

i just read the article by clark and it echo's my thinking-obama is a liar and why cant they find his papers from his time in the senate-lets get after him on that

Google is a wonderful thing. Someone makes a claim and I just look it up. McCain's "100 years" remarks had a few essential modifying phrases which are pretty essential for clarification. The Pastor Parsley thing? He made a general "thanks for intro by a man who's a spiritual leader." He'd met the man once and I really, really doubt his small staff vetted this man's sermons since it was a function staged by a local party. The moral equivalency test is just plain dishonest and illogical.

Obama's pastor's remarks about America and about white people are apparently par for the course. Do you folks really believe he got together with Farrikhan and Muammar Qaddafi to sing "God Bless America" and and discuss universal love of white folk and Jews? Some still exclaim that Wright's comments were taken out of context! What possible context could those remarks be put in to justify the lies and the hate rhetoric? McCain's 100 years thing really WAS part of a whole sentence which was part of a whole paragraph. Wright's comments were whole sentences and paragraphs.

And, BTW, Hillary isn't the only one with a problem on the Lie'O'Meter. He first said he didn't hear them; then he said maybe a few; then he gave the "equivalent of the Gettysburg address", according to his supporters, wherein he admits he did hear some stuff. Add that to his position on a Board of Directors that apparently gave thousands of dollars to organizations associated with actual, real Islamic terrorists, his acceptance of lots and lots of money from a slum lord, his being in the pocket of the biggest nucear power company in the US, and what is one to think about "only words Obama".

And about throwing his granny under the bus. I'm afraid he did. Whatever she said, she didn't yell it to a mass audience, record it and travel to our avowed enemies to affirm it. She supported him financially (sent him to one of the best prep schools in the country and it wasn't cheap) and emotionally. His loyalty to this woman was so deep, it allowed him demean her to millions as a bigot and then "clarified" himself by calling her a "typical white woman" [who, of course, are all bigots]. This is not complex. It's racism at its ugliest.

Hillary? At least Hillary has a clue about how bills become laws and how Washington works. This great call for "change" begs the question: what kind of change? I remember a similar chant for a man who was going against the establishment and was elected with a great hope that he would put human rights before US interests and promised that there would be economics for the poor. He sold out allies because they weren't nice enough and invited Islamic extremists to take their place. His total lack of action invited USSR adventurism and was directly responsible for the mess in Afganistan. When he left office, our military was literally falling apart. We didn't have sufficient naval resources to cover one ocean and our military pilots were driving planes that were older than they. We had double digit inflation; double digit unemployment; and hundreds of US embassy personnel left hostage to a regime that he helped create. He hated business and through regulation and taxes did his utmost to make the "rich" people pay. The result? Private sources had to compete with the US government for investment capitol and our GNP went below zero. Guess what folks. Government does produce ANYTHING, so there goes the jobs and taxing the so-called "rich" also means taxing the middle class and ultimately killing the golden goose. I'm sorry folks but when Obama blamed the world's problems and race relations on business, he was following the lead of his pastor. The world has tried redistribution of wealth schemes and they've failed. Miserably (USSR, China, North Korea). If you can affort more taxes, higher gas prices (and YES they would be higher), higher food prices (and YES they would be higher) and you want the same government Obama was just yelling about looking at his passport file keeping your medical records, then by all means. Vote for the left because his call for "unity" is as old as Marx, and it's a unity that will represent only one point of view and that view is the one we hear from San Francisco and Berkley. There's no place for opposite views in left-wing "unity". That would be me, and I'm afraid. Very afraid.

Did you all see the left's actions against Catholic congregations on Easter Sunday? You know. Where the view of the protesters was supposedly so superior that it allowed them to invade a worship service and dump blood on the worshipers. THAT is exactly how the left works. We've seen it before here and around the world. The left has room for unity only when it's their opinion. They don't believe in free speech except when it's THEIR speech. Obama is a child of the left. The far left. Hillary was absolutely right. It's past time to take off the feathers and examine this so-called angel.

I am a white middle aged woman and I do not take offense with Senator Obama saying his grandmother is a typical white woman. If you listened to the whole statement you would know he stated it about her fears when passing a black person on the street. Truly examine your own racial issues to understand why you feel the way you do. Rev. Wrights record shows for the past 20 years he did not make speeches like the one the media formed by taking soundbites of a much longer speech and putting it into a 40 sec. one, out of context. We have been lied to over and over by Senator Clinton...how can we believe anything she says? Are you going to let the media cast your vote for you? Read the truth about Rev. Wright and the whole context of the speech. Senator Obama accepted the good of his minister although he did not agree with everything he said. That's the kind of leader we need... omeone who embraces the good without rejecting or destroying the character of another because we have different views...someone who is accepting of all people regardless of our differences.

Hillarys new campaign slogan should be " liar, liar pants suit on fire.

How can we pick either one of these two to lead our country when they can't even lead their own political party? You expect either one of these two to be able to repair a failing economy, rebuild relationships in the world at large and repair racial divides when both of them withers at the first sign of controvesy? Further, why has NO ONE mentioned Vince Foster, or the other 93 suspicious deaths during and around the Clinton White House when Bill was President? If Obama doesn't win the Presidency, I expect the last we'll see of him will be shortly after Hillary takes the Oath.

Not_THAT_Women, I agree that America has done some of the things you claim, however where does it say what you claim it says in the Bible? Do you have a scripture reference?

And although I did not ever participate in any such activites, and the ancestor of mine who did are dead, my Bible teaches me to stand in the gap for my ancestors, so I say I stand in the gap and ask you to forgive me for the practices of my ancestors.

There is also love, healing, forgiveness, and the righteousness of God who vindicates those who love him. That is what Jesus is all about! And I think any progress made to reverse and correct these things is the vindication of God!

Y'know, I'm not a history buff per se, but surely Dolly Madison must have been one of the first First Ladies to set foot in a war zone. Didn't the British burn the White House? I find Ms. Clinton's tales of hyberbole as distasteful as Mr. Bush wearing a flight suit on a deck of a the USS Abraham Lincoln. She seems to think in this Bush-eqsue Bizarro World we live in, you can say one thing and do the exact opposite. Does everyone forget her cries of plagiarism foul, while lifting lines herself from Senator Edwards? In the case of the Bosnia tall tales, she tried to poeticize her experience, a scant few weeks after rebuking Obama for using flowery language to make his points. Whereas some may see these as silly sticking points, the fact is--despite what Ms. Clinton asserts--WORDS DO MATTER. And some come back to bite you in the behind. Ms. Clinton has already given me enough reasons to not trust her. Why does she continue to add more? Please Pennsylvania, think about that.

These people take tiny isuues with clinton and blow it out of proportion in a deliberate and repeated way. This is so as to make the major flaws of Obama go away. He is unelectable .. the sooner people get it the better for the country. We cannot afford a trojan horse in the white house. No way!

to Clark:
you are someone living with their head in the sand. The Obama's are the exception to the "good life" and 90% of blacks reality is no where near what theirs is, that is what he was talking about. You just still don't get it, there was a time less then a hundred years ago where white little girls where told "watch out for black men, they all want you and will rape you the chance they get" this type of fear is what lives in Obama's grandmother and makes her flinch even though he loves to death her black grandson. Should he disown her for that? She has been conditioned and as he compared her to Wright to say that some of Wrights beliefs have also been conditioned from the past.

I don't participate in any organized religion I am black and a woman and reading Wrights WHOLE speech I see nothing wrong with it. It's the TRUTH, America has done wrong many wrongs to it's various minority group. And America did not LEARN from them they just continued to do them over and over. I have NEVER liked or agreed with the way that America seems to think it can treat anyone who is "not white looking" how ever they want, The Indian's the Chinese, Blacks were done some horrible wrongs! And I don't see America fighting for Africa injustice...of that's right Africa doesn't have oil so who cares are stopping the horrible things that go on over there.

This is why the country will never progress becasue a big precentage of whites still wont even say "your right, america has done horrible things and are still doing horrible horrible things and we need to stop" Once you do that, you will see that Wrights FULL sermon is really not that distrubing, he was saying america needs to stop it's evil deeds so that it CAN become the greatness it should be so Everyone can really be UNITED (ahh what Obama wants) You can never heal when people don't want to acknowledge what was and still is wrong.

I saw nothing wrong with the FULL semon and Hillary fighting with this ANYTHING goes mentality is to ME another prime example of this thought process that SOME whites still have. That you must win at all cost to anyone and it's okay to do horrible things to get what you want" She has lied and did underhanded just plain wrong things so many times I've lost count. If Obama prefect nope! Not even near it, but I don't think he's as soiled as she is.

Open your eyes and pull your head out of the sand. You and Hilary need to stop thinking about just yourself and think about ALL the people around you too, white black and inbetween.

A liar wearing loud red lipstick says a red-hot lie. O la la.

What did Bill say about the lie and the lying spouse?

Hillary forgave Bill when he let his Johnson wander into areas it wasn't supposed to go. This was her choice. She forgave him, at least in public. But I can certainly imagine in private Bill is still paying for it. Big time I'm sure. Obama's pastor spoke his mind and Obama has chosen to disagree with what he said him, yet he still has been able to forgive Wright on another level.
So... One can draw a parallel here on this, but I'd just as soon let it go and get along with life. The price of gas is still through the roof, gangs are running unchecked in our city streets and the school system still can't teach Johnny how to read.
Get up off your butts, turn off your computers and go do something. Because when it really comes down to it... nobody gives a crap about what you think

Yet more proof that Mrs. Hillary Clinton is nothing more than a liar. She will say anything and do anything to try to cheat herself to victory. She is mean-spirited and is dividing America to promote herself. Hillary and her campaign tactics are pathetic. And I am one democrat who is TIRED of her lies, manipulations and attacks on Senator Obama.

Jenn,

I am a 60+ white woman and I DEEPLY resented Obama's comments. I left the church of my childhood in the 1960's because it was a racist institution, and because of my apostacy, I had to choose to essentially give up my family because I believed so strongly in civil rights. I raised my children to be color blind. I would have walked out of a church in defense of Obama's children. I'm sorry he didn't feel compelled to do the same for mine.

I have read the context wherein the racist remarks were spoken, including a post here which just makes them worse. The United States and its history is certainly imperfect because people are imperfect and the finer points of civilization didn't erupt like Athena from the head of Zeus. Reverend Wright's view of history is taken out of context and, BTW, is completely absent of any mention of someplace on this good Earth where the history is without blemish. Good grief. He went to Libya! I wonder if he took umbridge with his hosts over their ancestors role in the slave trade. I wonder if the good Reverend has ever taken up the matter of where the Arabs obtained the slaves that they sold to the Portugese and Spanish and eventually to the English and Southern States? I wonder why the Reverend Wright doesn't spend some of his outrage on the slavery that even now exists in Asia and Africa. I also wonder why he doesn't object to most of Islam which enslaves half its population--women. I wonder if Wright brought up polygamy in Libya, which most civilized folks think is the worst form of slavery for women.

So, yes. The US has been misguided and there have been awful things happen. Freedom can be messy, but Wright and Obama and all those people screaming for "change" had best also present us with a better form of government before we take the plung into "unity" (a word I DO NOT trust. It reeks of censorship and absolutism.)

What church does Hillary Clinton belong to, and who, exactly, is her minister/pastor/priest?

It's a simple question isn't it? She's said Jeremiah Wright would not be her pastor. Well then, who would be? Who is hers? She needs to explain what standard she is actually upset about, and to whom she is comparing Rev. Wright. If she is saying her pastor is better than his, what is this based on.

It's irresponsible for Hillary Clinton's campaign to avoid making this comparison. This is why people irrefutably understand that she is using Wright to divert from her lies about sniper fire in Bosnia. The internet is making her look like a crazy cult member, saying she belongs to "The Family" which is not actually a church. Although the chance of me supporting her is slim, I would like to know why she feels her church membership is better than his church membership. Eventually, she's going to have to clear this one up too.

And what about the breaking story of the Hillary superdelgates who are also members of Wright's church. Does she suggest they have to leave Trinity as well?

So when Hillary mispoke it is a lie and when Obama does it is no big deal?
Obama first claim no knowledge about NAFTA leak then he said he was not in the church. Wake up!!

i think clinton should just drop out now because she cant keep her toung undercontrol because she lies i dont know if she is telling the truth or another lie its common sense.

Paul--this story is so far-reaching, that is seems MORE than obvious that the media is making it into "a story" simply to justify its story of "the Math"--the reasoning behind Hillary exiting the Primary now. This Bosnia story is rather ridiculous. OK, Hillary was walking around in the CBS footage disseminated by the Obama camp. So what? Landing in enemy fire is NOT the same thing as being in enemy fire. Enough with this story already. It is a non-story, so just get over it.

The REAL story is how the Media, every chance it gets, is ready to dissuade and discourage voters in the remaining Primary States from voting. Enough already. Just report the news and enough with the punditry. Aren't there too many of you pundits filling the airwaves and Internet? I think so.

A deepely troubling thought: Clinton's supporters who stand by her repeated blatant lies captured on TV, either pretend to see nothing wrong with lying and cheating to the American public, or really think there is nothing wrong with it. Just her credibility on the stage addressing American people on an important controversial issue - who would believe anything she say? Strange bad fellows - these "democrats" and the FOX bigots.

President of of the United States, Bill Clinton, was impeached by the House of Represenatives on December 19, 1999, and aquitted by the Senate on February 12, 1999. One of the charges was perjury, the willful telling of a lie while under oath. The Clinton family does not seem to have a profound respect for the truth. Perhaps we should consider the possibility of perjury if there is another Clinton administration.

The media wanted this so bad and shame on hillary for giving it to them, what a insignificant misstake. How dare something so stupid, overshadow obama's pastor and his hate speeches, obama only now comes out and distances himself for the remarks when he has been apart of the chruch his most of his adult life this is seriously a joke.

I just want to take a moment and remember what presidential nominees we had to consider last election period....

Are we all taking a deep breath yet?

The truth is, I'd rather be tearing down a democratic party with passion and real change than giving in to the staus quo any day. And since the Republican party is already dead, does it really matter if the Dems have the same fate? And truthfully, I don't care. The change we are looking for is fundamental, so I expect the fight that we are taking on. It's time for the unraveling of the old ways! And let's remind ourselves that this is an historic election.

GinaMac - Hillary was lying repeatedly, at least in four different this year, all captured on tape. Please take a good look at her elaborate false made-up story, then repeatedly brushing off Sinbad and others who questioned her. You don't misspoke four times while reading your prepared speech to the audience whose vote you want to get based on stories like this. This is a fundamental issue of credibility, unfortunately.

Amber, you say:

" And America did not LEARN from them they just continued to do them over and over. I have NEVER liked or agreed with the way that America seems to think it can treat anyone who is "not white looking" how ever they want, The Indian's the Chinese, Blacks were done some horrible wrongs!"

Please provide some specifics of this charge? Please keep this in the current century, not the last one or the previous two. And if you are going to condemn US history with no reference to time or custom, I do hope you'll also discuss the various atrocities committed by other civilizations. Tell me. Have you ever visited Gettysburg? Vicksburg? Are you aware that the abolition movement was a product of white people working for justice? And have you ever considered that even in the slave holding Revolutionary War, there was one group of people that were considered such non-people that they weren't even counted as part of the population as they determined the number of Congressmen each state got? That would be women. Black men were at least counted as a half a person.

The history of how every society since the beginning of time treated women is both more abhorent and wider than what men did to other men. I could, of course, become a leftist feminist, but I don't believe all men are sexist pigs and those that are have every right to their opinion. What they don't have a right to do though is take action that would constitute sexual abuse or harrassment or discrimination. Laws are not magic wands. Laws only work if people make them work by demanding that they be enforced. I personally like Colin Powell's response to a question he was asked in an interview. The interviewer wanted to know what he did when he encountered racism, both subtle and overt. He replied that that wasn't his problem. That was the hater's problem. And he's right.

Do you honestly believe this whole mess is about race? If Colin Powell were the black candidate, this conversation would not be taking place. The vast majority of white people have, in fact, gone way, way past the race issue. This mess with Obama is about left-wing politics: his and his pastor's.

Obama is our Savior. Barak and Reverend Wright are Right, God D*** america. Now is the time to rally around Barak and Michelle and make them proud! And news flash america, Barak is right, your typical white american is a racist! Obama will apologize to our Muslim brothers for arrogant american policies of hate and slavery. Only Obama can forgive an evil nation founded slavery. REPARATIONS NOW

"Mrs. Clinton, you can get up off the pavement now, that was just the backfire from President Obama's limo."

I belive everybody knows that Obama is the best candidate to win the Democratic nomination and the general election but the Mr/Mrs Clinton who feels that the presidensy is their entitlement are desperate to make history - husband former president, wife former president. This they believe they will achieve by cocking up lies about Hillary's Bosnia trip to boost her foreign policy claims against Obama. Yes, it was a well thought out plan because she told the lie over and over again at different ocassions. Could this be the same strategy the husband was using to succeed during his tenure? Well, this explains the adage "a man's excesses lead to his fall." Hillary has helped knock herself out of the race.
Go Obama Go!

You are all a little goofy. Arguing which of these three mental midgets would make a good leader of the free world. We are supposed to be a Republis whose federal government is limited by the Constitution. Only Ron Paul seems to understand that basic fact. The rest cannot wait to take the oath to defend th Constitution and then violate it.

To play Cassandra for a moment, there will be a book written within 5 years (perhaps more than one, we can only hope) that reveals how hypocritically Barack navigated the political system to gain the nomination (if, sadly, he does). Barack is being duplicitous to pretend he isn't running on his race, yet stand so tall on the shoulders of both Martin Luther King, Jr's legacy (for shame) and the willing media - while know that Hillary Rodham has no such shoulders to raise her up (where is Susan B. Anthony day celebrating half the populations 100 year battle to be grudgingly allowed to vote in America - where are all the programs on cable celebrating women's suffrage and the gains women have acheived in the last century - for instance getting the police to actually step in and stop their husbands from beating them to death as was their "right" as head of the family and women actually allowed not to get fired if married ). If you need to add "Clinton" to Rodham - just tell me why? Is it racism that adds Clinton to Hillary's name?? If this campaign is so suffused with "gender and racism," as one of the writers here notes, tell me - how many articles have covered racism in this campaign - then tell me how many have covered sexism? It would be great if someone could add them up - here's a guess - 10,000 to 1? What does that tell you about sexism in America? Women's history in this country is appalling and shameful and until we finally talk about that, no one, espcially the one "ism" Barack, to use the political system for his own gain.

In spite of the problems that Clinton and Obama both have, I absolutely refuse to vote for a warmonger and someone who claims to know little about the economy. Also, the presidential nominee is not a personality contest. It's all about which candidate will push the issues that are closest to our hearts. I'd like to remind everyone that both Clinton and Obama take nearly identical sides on the issues, and will put the economy first.

Replace the candidates name with the issues they espouse and here's what you get: economy/healthcare vs. economy/healthcare vs warmonger. Who will you choose?

From a British neoliberal/neoconservative perspective Obama's the candidate for america
If world democracy is your aim then he's gonna advance that objective soley by demostrating the ability of a democratic system to propel a candidate from an ethnic minority to the political elite

If Clinton wins the election it will reduce America's standing in the world by making you look like a country ruled by a feudal dynastic elite and therefore damage the standing of world democracy as you are the flag bearers for this political movement.
McCain Clearly has the best economic policies but the strategic long term gains that will come with respect to the propagation of democracy from electing Obama will far outweigh the negative aspects of Obama's policies.

When you vote think about this planet and how you want the political system that governs it in the future to be

Paul, I think you are acting ridiculous. First off, no she didn't lie. She was only recalling memory from the warning security forces. Me and my own mother make memory lapse mistakes like these at times as well. This is not like Edward Murrow and Joseph McCarthy in anyway.

Bets, you comments are sexist and unacceptable. I also wish there were ways I could edit my postings, because I meant to say the warning security force "gave her" I can't believe you people immediately assume what is a lie and what is not.

ww2008 - Barak Obama has no interest in playing the race card, and he is not trying to play it, on the contrary. Why? - Because he knows that this is not an advantage and that this is contrary to the central point of his campaign. If we would have some kind of affirmative action program for selecting a president, yes, his race would be an advantage, but given that it is a democratic process that we follow in selecting a president, his race is huge disadvantage. We all know this, although some of us pretend this is not so. He had to fight an uphill battle every inch of the way and he did a remarkable job in defining himself as a candidate that transcends the race, an unifier. His biracial background certainly makes him uniquely qualified for this, not to speak of his honesty, decency, and intellectual brilliance.

Now, his opponents have interest in bringing up the race card because by doing this, as Clinton, Ferraro, and others did several times, they make him appear as a merely a "black candidate" or a candidate that somehow owes his success to the affirmative action (Ferraro). They do this in order to undermine one of the central themes of his candidacy, and as a dividend they also get all the bigot vote that is out there (the vote that the true democrats should denounce and reject, rather then actively pursue).

So far if you listen to Obama's responses, they where extremely well measured and he himself never used a race as a way to defend himself from these provocations. He said about Ferraro's comments that they are "wrongheaded" and personal "put down" but not racist. Similar was his good natured response to Bill Clinton's SC blunder. Some of the Obama supporters did (correctly, one would say) point out that Clinton and Ferraro comments are attempt to inject the race into the discussion, and some free-lance operatives did carry the race aspect even further, but it is unfair and far fetched to blame Obama for this. He has solid black support and he has nothing to gain from raising the race issue, which he does not. This can not be said for the other side, on the contrary.

I Misspoke

It was a treacherous night landing. Ice had formed on both of our wings, and as I looked out the port window, I could see it breaking into shards, flying off into the night sky with each near barrel roll of our C-50, highlighted by the flares shooting past on either side of the cabin, turning them into falling prisms of wildly careening light.

As the cabin lurched back and forth and the sounds of rocket fire percussed the urgent, faltering rhythm of our right engine, I unfastened my seat belt, and, finding my center of gravity, rose from my seat, moving past aides shock still in their chairs, arms locked like girders against their arm rests in terror, and walked up the center aisle to the pilot's cabin.

"How long to Kosovo"? I shouted over the screaming whine of the altimeter's alarm, marking our steep descent. The pilot turned, looked at me in shocked recognition--"How...how did you make it up here? No one has ever walked up here in these conditions before! How..."

"Never mind that!" I barked, with what I hoped was a not too stern forcefulness, combined with sufficient steel and empathy to create the appearance of a firm imperturbability. "Check the master FMC! Is it working or has it failed?"

The pilot, paused, as if in amazement at my readiness, and then himself awakening to crisis, looked to the Control Display Unit . "It's down! It's down!" he shouted. A bead of sweat began to form on his brow.

I knew what I had to do. "Get out of there!" I commanded, and pulled him from the seat, from where he crumbled to a fetal position on the floor behind me. Stepping over him, I took the chair behind the console.

"Check the Central Maintenance Computers and activate the NAV RAD for alternate radio tuning capability!" I shouted to the co-pilot. He, too, had broken down in tears, his head buried in his hands. I looked to his ID on the console. Another newbie.

Well, this was another one where I would have to go it alone.

Quickly, I tore the scarf from my neck and fashioned it into a crude lasso that could be used for EFIS/EICIS control. Catching the lever with my right hand, I activated the cabin loudspeaker with my left. I knew that the passengers had likely been gulled by the earlier soft patter of the pilot. "Brace yourself! Get ready! These aren't just words!" Then I pulled the lever back hard, sending us rocketing towards the runway.

"You'll never make it!" I knew that voice, and turned. Richardson! How did he trundle up to the cabin? "Out of here, Judas! And take that quivering beard with you!"

I could feel bolts straining against Pennsylvania steel as I pushed the '50 down, down, down to the ground below us. Suddenly, an explosion punctuated the sky--Hand held rocket fire at 3' o'clock!

I quickly performed the evasive maneuvers that I had learned for so long, and so well. My face became angry, then sad, then gentle, then intensely serious, then was finally rocked by a powerful squealing, an unnatural burst of laughter. That did it! The rocket exploded harmlessly behind us.

Now. Now it was time to take the stick and bring this shaking, careening flight, parts straining against themselves until nearly ready to burst, down to the ground. I put my arms to the twin arms of the FO-AP, set the APC, and with all of the strength remaining in me, began to push the levers down. Straining, I pushed harder. And harder. I could see the runway rising before us in the glare shield. I would have to find the remaining strength to bring it down.

Finally, as if a burst of superhuman might had been somehow delegated to me, I pushed the levers into locked position. I could hear Penn in the cabin shouting "We're landing...We're going down!" as I felt the rough shock of the landing gear snapping into place.

Sparks flew as we hit the runway, bullets ricocheting off of the cabin, one wheel touching pavement. I looked straight through the windshield--the militia, arms at the ready stood at the runway's end. The last obstacle.

I turned the craft hard, sending it hurtling sideways across the pavement. It swept the militia away in a single screaming motion that combined with the screaming that arose from the cabin, as we continued to move towards the small, makeshift terminal, where the dignitaries, negotiators, and heads of state awaited for my arrival.

I did not close my eyes. I did not let go of the wheel. I watched--as we ground to a halt just before the doors of the terminal.

I looked fore, at the dignitaries protecting themselves from the sniper fire that raged around them. I looked aft, at the passengers, shaken but safe.

We had arrived. All was good.

Just a moment...

Due to the discovery of a video of the above described occasion, I would like to make few small corrections. The flight was in fact actually a regularly scheduled chartered flight that was actually flown by the pilot and co-pilot--although the pilot did have a cold, and during the flight, I did at several times give serious attention to our flight conditions (notes indicate that I found it "a bit bumpy"). I would also note that the dinner, Salmon with Creamed Potatoes, was undercooked, and was served with a Riesling that was unusually dry. It is also true that we were met not by a militia, but by a girl's youth soccer team. However, it was necessary for me to dodge a soccer ball as team members demonstrated their often aggressive skills. No other shots were fired.

In short: I misspoke."

someone owes sinbad an apoligy as well as the american people

How many votes she would have gained based on just Bosnia sniper point if it was real? I think most of the people didn’t know unit it became an issue.

Read this about Obama's exaggerations. I don't think Hillary's is as bad as his whoppers.

Obama DID NOT throw his Grandma under the bus or anywhere else. Her reactions were little different than those of many who live in rural areas of America where there is little or no diversity of population.
The bigotry that so sadly infests this country is so obvious in some of these posts. Guess the demographics are right - the better educated are voting for Obama regardless of race.
I agree with the article. Clinton has lied before by omission and inuendo. We don't need another liar in the White House.

Hillary Clinton vs. Jeremiah Wright.

Clinton loses because Wright is not running for President

These posts are far more divisive than the campaigns that you support.

You are allowing your passionate disagreements to elevate to blind rage and unforgiving
misjudgement.

Clinton and Obama are not our common enemy.

That roll is reserved for a would be continued Bush-like administration that is sitting back and laughing at the way we have been dividing and conquering ourselves.

We can not continue to throw eachother "under the bus" if we want to get in the driver's seat.

We need US to be WE, the people!

Seach YOURSELVES and then consider which candidate best appeals to the honest and most honorable qualities in us.

Consider which candidate best represents the diversity that is America.

Consider what we will leave to our children as an inheritance.

Lut us be selfless and not selfish with our decision as it will affect all Americans on all sides and the rest of the world.

This decision is bigger than Race and Gender, as it will affect all of HUMANITY.

Let us not be blinded by personal prejudice and dishonesty.

And when God saw that they were one people speaking with one voice, he said that there will be nothing they can not accomplish.

This is ridiculous. Clinton did NOT lie, and you people need to see that. How about mentioning about a lie Obama said about Pastor Wright as well. Yeah, he did lie.

People please stop dreaming Obama. Obama will be beaten by the largest margin ever if he is nominated. Many times polls do not tell the story and this is one of them.

Obama not only sat in Rev. Wright's church of racist sermons but he claims he did not know, then he did not hear those comments, then oh he did hear some comments and then we had the "typical white person" remark while throwing Grandma under the bus.

His numbers of white people have gone down and continue to go down. The only thing Obama is doing is distroying the democratic party and I doubt it will recover before 2012....Many people including myself will vote McCain and transfer party to Republican if Obama is even on the ticket as VP. I and many others will never vote for a known racist like Obama while I would vote for Colin Powell.....he used to belong to the same church as Obama but did not sit there lending credibility to a racist telling his flock that America made AIDS to kill blacks....Powell left that church and so did Oprah.

The Bosnia fantasy will convince many voters that Barack is more trustworthy
than Billary.

Well, as usual, it's come down to voting for the lesser of ( in this case) the 3 evils.
If you listen to the democratic candidates, by there own addmission, neither one of them is qualified or capable, of running the country.
That leaves maccain as the Lesser(?) of the 3 evils.
We're screwed again.

It seems that the well educated do support Obama, from what I have read in all of these comments. And that comment from Head of State is priceless, thank you.

John McCain was co-chairman of the Committee for the Liberation of Iraq. He was caught on video, only a few days ago, saying to prospective Republican voters that he would keep U.S. troops for "50 or 100 years" in Iraq. His chance of winning the general election is zero. Let us make this universal: It did not matter who the lying Republicans nominated. He is going to lose.

folks, lets not ever forget that we have one administration in the white house (all) that have weapons of mass destuctuction on their persons and they use them daily (their mouth and their lies that cause worldwide woe). do we really need another proven iiar and one who builds up danger to start wars in the white house again?

Hillary is a liar as well as her husband xprez bill

Never mind Bosnia--the unfortunate moment has brought out the worst in journalists, but so, it seems, has Senator Obama's transcendent message in his supporters. What a rude bunch.

The nomination process involves fifty states. Today Governor Dean announced that he foresaw Florida and Michigan's delegations being seated at the convention. Strangely enough, Obama endorsers are suddenly crying for Senator Clinton to cede the race.
Coincidence?

It is with a sinking feeling that i must admit from reading many comments from a lot of women, that they would rather have a women, any type of woman(female lib) kind of thing, rather than considering the consequences for all of us if another incapable, lying, power hungry person is instilled in the white house. by the way, i am a woman who care more about what is happening to our country, than proving that a woman should have equal rights just to prove they are as good as men. That is true only if the woman's character reinforces those qualities. Lies and coverups like clinton's do not
