WESTERVILLE, OH -- Has somebody hijacked Hillary Clinton's CD player again?
"Sweet Home Alabama" just came on the sound system at her rally here.
Lyrics:
"In Birmingham they love the Guvnuh (Wallace)"
"Watergate does not bother me, does your conscience bother you?"
Coincidentally, we ran an opus today about Clinton's work on the Watergate inquiry in the early 1970s.
UPDATE: It's testosterone day in Hillaryland! The airing of "Sweet Home" doesn't seem to have been a mistake but part of a pitch to white working-class guys in Ohio. It's on again, this time at a rally in Youngstown -- where she was just endorsed by middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik.

Does Hillary's conscience bother her about the cattle futures fraud? About her lies regarding the Rose Law Firm billing records? About her pretending not to be aware of what was happening in Bill Clinton's White House? About Norm Hsu and all the illegal donations to her campaigns? About the lies she's told about Barack Obama's record?
Conscience? What conscience?

"...Well I heard mister Young sing about her..."
- "Sweet Home Alabama," Lynyrd Skynyrd
"Southern man
better keep your head
Don't forget
what your good book said
Southern change
gonna come at last
Now your crosses
are burning fast
Southern man"
- "Southern Man," Neil Young
"Well, I heard ol' Neil put her down..."
- "Sweet Home Alabama,"
"Lily Belle,
your hair is golden brown
I've seen your black man
comin' round
Swear by God
I'm gonna cut him down!
I heard screamin'
and bullwhips cracking
How long? How long?"
- "Southern Man"
"Well, I hope Neil Young will remember
A Southern man don't need him around anyhow"
- "Sweet Home Alabama"
Well, isn't that special.
Nice to see the Clinton camp appealing to the white man's inner racism.
They did it during South Carolina, after South Carolina, and they're at it again.
Maybe their just recognizing the contributions of the late Lee Atwater to modern American politics.

This is hilarious. (TM) Politicians are clueless to music lyrics. Almost as funny as the '80 Reagan theme; Born in the USA. They should'a checked out THOSE lyrics first.

I've got a really egregious example of not reading lyrics before using popular music.
What bigger all-American event is there than the 4th of July? Politicians everywhere...marching in parades and campaigning.
For several years in a row a high school marching band which shall remain nameless played "American Woman" as they marched in the Champaign-Urbana 4th of July parade.
"American Woman" is an anti-American song. :-)
