Talk about going back to square one.

On the national front, Democrats are virtually evenly split over the candidacies of Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, the newest tracking poll shows.

Obama is the choice of 47 percent, Clinton 46, a neglible difference in a poll like this, a March 20-22 survey by the Gallup Poll. The survey confirms Gallup's finding just before Easter that "Clinton's recent lead in the race -- apparently fueled by controversy dogging the Obama campaign over the Rev. Jeremiah Wright -- had evaporated,'' Gallup's Lydia Saad reports.

For all the controversy that Obama has faced during the past few weeks surrounding the "incendiary'' remarks of his longtime and now-retired pastor, remarks which the candidate has disavowed, the last two accountings of the Gallup daily tracker suggest that the senator from Illinois has placed that behind him. Clinton had gained a detectable polling advantage over Obama during the height of the controversy.

Gallup's general election polling, matching presumptive Republican nominee Sen. John McCain against Obama and Clinton, continue to show McCain holding a slight advantage.

The Arizona senator holds a three percentage point lead over Obama in the preferences of registered voters, and a two-point lead over Clinton, again, within the margin of error.

Clinton holds an apparent advantage over Obama heading into the April 22 primary election in Pennsylvania, yet Obama holds an edge over Clinton among the party's pledged delegates -- an edge unlikely to be closed in the remaining primaries, with neither claiming the number needed for nomination. This likely will leave the party's superdelegates with the challenge of settling a race unwinnable in primaries.

See the Gallup poll.

What, the pastor flap has been erased? Come on mainstream media, you'll have to talk about it a little more to ensure it stays front and center. Last thing you want is the American people thinking about a wrecked economy and 4000 dead Americans in Iraq. Then the Democrats might, gasp! win. And all the media CEOs will have to pay, gasp! more taxes to support their country!!!

Thank goodness people have come to their senses! All you have to do is really listen to the whole sermon. ANYONE willing to judge Dr. Wright on that one snippet is simply not fair. Noone should be judged by the worst/weakest moment of their lives, but by the sum of their existence and the CONTENT of their CHARACTER. Now all of you who listened to those snippets - I challenge you to do some REAL research and find out about the whole man. From President Kennedy to President Clinton, you will find no-one is PERFECT, but dont let a tiny point in time define the whole person. Do some research of your own.

Well, the flap never should have flapped. It was never a serious news story. All the talkies kept playing it up and playing the sound nibbles over and over until the people have decided that it was more about the media than a real story. This week it will be something else. Let's try Hillary belly flopping and dragging herself along the ground in order to avoid the the rain of bullets zinging over her head in Bosnia, while Chelsea used her M-1 to provide cover. Now that's a drama Wolf Blitzer needs to spend the next week talking about. This kind of revealing story will surely help Hillary's numbers in the polls.

Well, I think it just reflects the fact that intelligent people would rather have an articulate, thoughtful, honest President with a slightly over-the-top pastor than a duplicitous, egotistical, person who doesn't seem to be able to open her mouth without lying about her past. I don't know if Obama can be a great President, but I'm certainly impressed with what I've seen so far.

The only ones who are still concerned with Reverand Wright are the right wing trolls on The Swamp, and Fox News.

The rest of us have moved on to more important things.

This writer is absolutely nuts. If he thinks that this poll shows that the Rev. Wright affair is over, he is mistaken; it has only just begun. It is still being discussed night and day on the blog; and if Obama becomes the nominee the Republican attack machine will destroy Obama with it. This writer should stick to just announcing the poll results, not making commentary.

IT SEEMS SEN. CLINTON IS IN TROUBLE I,M NOT SURE WHY SHE FEEL SHE HAS INTERNATIONAL EXPERTISE WHEN SHE WAS NOT KEY ON DECISION THAT WERE MADE BY HER HUSBAND I,D LIKE SOME DOCUMENTATIONTO SHOW HOW IT IS SHE HAD ANY EFFECT ON NATIONAL FOREIGN POILCY

Just goes to show Hillary doesn't have the staying power in the minds of the voters.

BTW: Hillary, your husband started the recent flap that you are trying to blame-shift by questioning Barack's patriotism in a sly way. Stop playing upon fear to desperately try to win votes. That's not the kind of President I or I can only assume the rest of the nation wants.

Martin E. Marty, a widely respected religious scholar said on Easter Sunday that Wright's speeches were mostly hopeful and uplifting. In addition to preaching hope, preachers are supposed to make us feel guilty for our supposed sins. For other well known preachers, Wrights radical comments - aka "GD America" and "chickens coming home to roost" were mainstream:

Evangelical pioneer Francis Schaeffer "called for the violent overthrow of the US government, yet was often solicited by Reagan and Bush Sr.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/frank-schaeffer/obamas-minister-committe_b_91774.html

Like Wright, Pat Robertson also believes God allowed the 9/11 attacks as punishment for our evil country. Yet President Bush consults him on the Iraq war. He has also said "Just like what the German Nazis did to the Jews, so liberal Democrats are doing to evangelical Christians."

Jerry Falwell: "That our gays, lesbians, abortionist the ACLU etc. were to blame for 9/11".

"This stranglehold has got to be broken or the country's going down the drain," said Billy Graham, agreeing with Nixon's comments about Jews and their influence in American life.

McCain's “spiritual guide” Rod Parsely has said “it's America's destiny to destroy Islam” while Parsley labeled McCain a "strong, true, consistent conservative."

Huckabee understands the importance of keeping such bile in context AND of not transferring blame to the politicians who keep such associations.

By listening to hurtful words for twenty years, Obama speaks profound truths that every American should listen to (with their children). Frankly children get their cues from their parents' reactions to radical ideas, not the ideas themselves. It is now time for this country to grow up and stop judging a man's patriotism by what he chooses to listen to at church NOR whether he wears a lapel pin (during a time when displaying symbols was becoming an obligatory proof of one's patriotism.

I'm an Obama supporter (though my support is savering) -- and the Wright flap isn't over by a long shot, I do't believe. I tend to read a lot of different blogs, and I can tell that first of all, voters don't think it's over, and many of them are very angry. They know it wasn't just snippets, as an earlier poster said, and they just don't understand how Obama could continue to be a church member with that kind of lesson coming from the pulpit. And second of all -- even if Obama wins te nomination, which I think likely, the GOP will be waiting. The Rev. Wright will be an issue from now until the general election, and it will cause serious, serious harm come fall. This is not over at all.

As the "God damn America" speech recedes in the rear view mirror, it's time to move on. So much for Rupert Murdoch, Fox News, Lou Dobbs and all of the other folks who want the American people to think in ten-second sound bites. Let's get on with the show: kicking the Republicans out of the White House.

What politicians listen to their religious leaders?

Do Democratic politicians that are Catholic follow Church doctrine?

The answer is no. Otherwise, these politicians wouldn’t be supporting abortion.

Obama should feel free to ignore any statements made by his former minister. Ted Kennedy certainly can help with that.

The bottom line is religious freedom for all, but that religion has no place in government.

A national poll is not relevent, period. The only polls that matter are the one at state levels where Clinton has to have landslide victories to matter. A Pennsylvania democratic poll would be something to talk about.

Let's just wait and see what effect the revelation that Hillary blatantly lied about her trip to Bosnia does to the polls. Last week she stood in front of a camera and told us that she was dodging bullets as she arrived in Bosnia. The photos and video out today tell a completely different story. Hillary, padding your resume is ground for termination.

Neck and neck, eh, Mark??

You must really think those you are writing for have no brains at all.

Just slap up a % Clinton - % Obama graph, tell the lemmings everything is still really tight because one candidate put some dirt behind him and, PRESTO, everything is neck and neck.

No, Mark. The recession is still here. People still can't pay their bills. And we are not looking for, nor do e appreciate this kind of reporting.

Try something different, Mark. Tell us about each candidates platform on our dependence on foreign oil.

Write something that is worth something.

Hi-
I'm not sure who Mark Silva is but he misses the mark regarding Obama's so-called speech on race. He certainly has not disavowed himself from any of the comments; instead he draws your attention away by appealing to a certain form of guilt. What comments did Obama dismiss as divisive. All of them? Not so.

Obama is unelectable.

Go Hillary.

No amount of 24/7 media promotion of Obama and villification of Hillary is going to change the fact that Barack Hussein Obama is not electable in the general election, not to the Presidency, the Vice Presidency or even re-electable to the U.S. Senate from Illinois.

The Obamarama is OVER.

Donate to HillaryClinton.comn NOW!

Fred,

How else could you possibly extrapolate those results? I wouldn't read to far into it and dog out the reporter for making an honest judgement...

The MSM (not the right wing) has already destroyed Obama with this. Once again, another case of the media defining reality for most Americans. I don't think we'll get an Obama presidency, and after the last few weeks, I don't think we deserve one.

This country is sick with blame and hatred...both parties, all races, men and women alike. I wonder what Sartre would say...

It is Barack Obama's pledge to his Black base that he, if elected the next president, will make the White House a platform for Black Liberation Theology and Reparations and a national conversation on Race, Racism, and the damages of America's Peculiar Institution of Slavery that makes him unelectable. So, lets get on with the nomination of Hillary Clinton and the unity of her base against the GOP. Forget about Al Sharpton. Barack's Black support in the primary is not representative of the Black electoral turnout in the general election. Barack's current black support is mainly upper-middle classed, booshie-typed, trapped between the black world and the white world and guilt-riddened right alongside some white-gulit, both marketed by a media campaign against the idea of a female commander in chief. The Superdelegates should not allow a media-driven mob to intimidate them in doing what they were founded to do, and that is to awoid a repeat of the 1972 result when McGovern was trounced 520 to 17! Barack Obama is a modern day version of George McGovern.

From Talking Points Memo:

"The system is based on pledged delegates and super-delegates. Period. There's a set of rules everyone agreed on. The wisdom of those rules is irrelevant at this point. The Clinton campaign is entitled to do whatever it wants to get superdelegates to come over to her side to even out the pledged delegate deficit. My take is that whatever the arguments, the superdelegates aren't going to go against a clear pledged delegate leader. And I think they'd be extremely ill-advised to do so. But the superdelegates do have this power under the rules. But these constant efforts to say the rules aren't fair are just silly, and truth be told I think they're more undermining of the Clinton campaign than they realize".

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/185225.php

The Clinton campaign has realized that the rules don't work in their favor, that if we follow the rules as agreed upon before the first caucus vote was cast in Iowa, that they have no chance of winning but that never mattered to the Clinton camp at the time. It only mattered after she lost the election based on the rules. The media narrative is finally starting to reflect this reality.

Again, the only way Clinton can win this race is with a coup by superdelegate, which would necessarily create civil war in the party.

And of course, Hillary Clinton doesn't care.

That's the bottom line. All the other noise in this contest are just ex post facto justifications for that coup attempt.

For Hopefull08 and others-
in times like these why must some of us appeal to so-called respected religious leaders and other authorities to explain away such an obvious lack of judgement on the part of Wright and Obama. Also, dissent can be a form of patriotism- for instance the conservative and libertarian critique the past 60 years of a certain form of government that continues pervade our thinking about goverment.

Bob,
Apparently you haven't read the transcript of the speech. It's on the NYT homepage, if you're interested. Not to bog you down with reading, but here's a snippet. Sorry I can't package it in a soundbite for you:

But the remarks that have caused this recent firestorm weren’t simply controversial. They weren’t simply a religious leader’s effort to speak out against perceived injustice. Instead, they expressed a profoundly distorted view of this country – a view that sees white racism as endemic, and that elevates what is wrong with America above all that we know is right with America; a view that sees the conflicts in the Middle East as rooted primarily in the actions of stalwart allies like Israel, instead of emanating from the perverse and hateful ideologies of radical Islam.

As such, Reverend Wright’s comments were not only wrong but divisive, divisive at a time when we need unity; racially charged at a time when we need to come together to solve a set of monumental problems

The media is so in love with Senator Obama....are you suprised? If he's the nominee it'll be President McCain!! Yeah!!! With this pastor flap....you ain't seen nothing yet!! G**D*** America....is that really what he said???? Let's see it played some more media!!! You go JOHN!!

I fell for Fox news myself but after watching more that the 30 sec clip i realized it's a media generated issue. I doubt that Fox will devote time to playing more than a biased , race baiting clip

Charles,

Any actual facts to back up your racist rant? Or is your source the drunk on the barstool to your right?

Please confine your racist ideologies to whatever Elk Lodge you spend your days in.

I'm not buying anything from people who think it's unfair of me to judge a person for preaching that white people invented the AIDS virus to destroy the black community. I have it good authority that it was first discovered in monkeys and chimps in the wild. What's unfair is someone telling me that any of that man's hate sounds acceptable when taken in context. No deal.

How can anyone support a president who attends a hate filled church. someone commented that their church denounced gays one Sunday and they were embarrassed but did not stop attending the church. Comparing Obama/Wright to their experience. I hope they did not stop attending church, see being gay is not the same as being a hate-filled racist. Gay is an abomination before God. As is 'hating' people - beware of wolves wearing sheeps clothing.

The Media - especially MSNBC - constantly cherry picks which Poll to report on to make Obama look best.

Here are the latest polls available:

Rasmussen Tracking - 03/13 to 03/23 Clinton + 2

If you haven't figured it out yet, all organized religion is hooey.
So whatever Wright, Falwell, Swaggart, Hinn, Robertson, Meyers, Schuller etc. and so-forth espouses doesn't matter any way.
Now there are/were truly some inspiring people connected with OrgRel, but I imagine they know the real truth.

Also, Silva is engaging in a form of dishonesty with his headline. The pastor-flap may indeed be erased in this national poll, but everyone knows the most important poll at the moment is the one in Pennsylvania, where Wright's hate-speech has generated a double-digit lead for Clinton that had previously. It would be interesting if Mr. Silva would post the latest polls from that primary state rather than just dismiss the whole thing as "erased" based on this national gallup poll. Instead all the detail we get about the most important upcoming contest is the very last sentence of the piece: "Clinton holds an apparent advantage over Obama heading into the April 22 primary election in Pennsylvania."

Talk about burying the lead.

I'll vote for Hillary but I'll vote for McCain before I vote for him. The media gave him a free pass and that's how he won all the early primaries. Even to this day every person on MSNBC literally gushes everytime he says a word. No one who supports him can say why except for the most basic platitudes and campaign slogans. The Democrats will lose big in November if he is their nominee.

I’m tired of the media shoving its love affair with Obama down our throats. Looking at other polls taken over the weekend it shows Obama is behind. I will vote A.B.O. Anybody But Obama.

There is no way the right is going to let this go and to be honest I am not sure they should. If Obama takes this by default, and I am sure he will because the democrates will not be willing to lose the black vote as part of their base. I think Hillary should, and I know I will be supporting her draft to go Independent ticket. Let Obama think he will win those States he has so far in November. Those States are all States that go RED and guess who has been helping him win. Doesn't take a genuise to figure this one out. I know in Texas Caucus I saw people I knew to be stanch Republicans voting for him. Their reason was "I just don't want the Bi**ch to win". Where you think they will be voting in Nov.?

I am sorry but I will never understand how the swamp could only choose 1 poll to report on when in fact both gallup and rasmussen have released polls today. The Rasmussen poll shows Clitnon leading Obama 46% to 44% so it is close to the Gallup poll, but it shows McCain with a 50% to 41% lead over Obama and a 49% to 42% lead over Clinton. ALso I think it is very early to say whether or not the pastor flap is over. Judging by the general election results I would say that it is not. Come Nov when the GOP makes it an issue again I would bet that the author will have a different opinion on the Pastor flap being over.

SO Obama had a 13 % pt lead over Clinton the days before the pastor remark and somehow the author sees him trailing by 2pts to Hillary as meaning that the pastor flap is erased. Got it. How about the damage is done and he recovered some but not fully. I would think that would be a better description of the situation, but we all know that the author is an Obama supporter who is trying to convince himself that the flap is over. It has only begun I am afraid. Anyone who thinks this scandal is over is being very naive.

So, if Hillary changes parties and runs as McCain's VP, you will STILL vote for her? Because that is the scenario she has set up, not independent but as a VP for McCain. If she wanted to run as a third party, she would be attacking both Obama AND McCain. She EXALTS McCain, and you ONLY kiss ass that much if you are looking for the VP position.

Find a 13 percent advantage for Obama over Clinton in the days before the pastor controversy. No such number. And that 46-44 Clinton-Obama result in Rasmussen is the same thing as Gallup's track, a virtual tie. It's a tied race, from the perspective of voters nationally.

The pastor issue has not been put to bed.If you think it has just because Obama made a little speech then you are mistaken. Obama still hasn't answered any questions all he has done is put the racial aspect in America in place of the Pastor Wright issue. That is what he wanted to do all the time is to take the emphasis off the pastor issue. Obama remains all talk and no substance but he sure has a lot of followers buffaloed with his smooth talk. You guys had better wake up and see what he really is. A con man extraordinaire.

Obama is unelectable in the general election. We all know, the "positive" spinners, can't "wish" something into existence. Nice try, but this won't go away. Patriots have longer memories than that.

“It is Barack Obama's pledge to his Black base that he, if elected the next president, will make the White House a platform for Black Liberation Theology and Reparations and a national conversation on Race, Racism, and the damages of America's Peculiar Institution of Slavery that makes him unelectable. So, lets get on with the nomination of Hillary Clinton and the unity of her base against the GOP.”

This is the first I have heard of this, but I am not tuned into the conspiracy network like Charles is. Even if this is true, so what? Does Hillary plan to ignore these issues? Would Hillary forsake women’s issues knowing that this is threatening to many men?

Oh, I get it. Charles is one of those Hillary supporters masquerading as a white supremacist. The Bill Clinton primer for raising racial awareness is working. Good job, Charles!

That was not Wright's weakest moment; there is no judgment on his lowest point. The FACT is that what he preaches from the pulpit IS Wright. The scary part that no one is talking about yet, is that OBAMA'S job in Chicago before traditional politics was AGITATOR. He was paid to say "Wright-like" things to the black community to get them all riled up...That's what HE DID!!! Don't try to tell me Obama is a good American. He is a scary as hell power monger.

Ever notice how much the Clinton backers and the Bad Breath Bigots seem to speak the same old negative and devisive opinions over and over and over again. They seem unable to accept the fact that most people don't see the world thru the lenses of fear and ignorance that they do.

Last week was all about this guy who was a great orator, who represented ALL the people of the world, who tried to unify the people. He was essentially betrayed by one of his own, not for his actions, but for the actions of another. He was attacked by those in power, until a point was reached where one of them, a a well known "leader" on their side, washed his hands of the whole affair.

And then there was Easter.

I learned that the Republicans, and some Hillary supporters, would attack Jesus if he had a D after his name.

This non-story should never have become a story. As someone with a Master's degree in Broadcast Management, I can you how easy it is to find a snippet, taken out of context, that can make ANYONE look bad.

If the only thing you knew about Ronald Reagan was "Tell the Russians we begin bombing in ten minutes", his famous 'open mike blooper, the Republican party would have been disbanded a decade ago.

Come on Dems, Obama is a winner.

He beat a major candidate with huge name recognition, the party support, funding, a ex-president husband to help campaign, 35 years of experience (hah), and more.

He raised more money, registered more voters, got more people excited about the election.

He's showing a bit of teflon now. Ahrugged off a story that would have sunk a lesser candidate.

Come on Dems, time to rally round and get the Whitehouse out of the hands of the rich overlords.

Charles says:

"It is Barack Obama's pledge to his Black base that he, if elected the next president, will make the White House a platform for Black Liberation Theology and Reparations and a national conversation on Race, Racism, and the damages of America's Peculiar Institution of Slavery that makes him unelectable."

Well, how about Hillary's pledge to murder every child in America on a Satanic altar and drink their blood? Or her promise to make everybody gay-marry an illegal immigrant? Or her intention to raise marginal taxes on all income above $15,000/year to 100%?

I'd say all that makes her completely unelectable, wouldn't you?

You media types can put whatever positive spin you want that the Pastor's comments were no big deal or that Obama's reference to white women's concerns are typical of what you would expect, the reality is that they are big deals among 80% of the electorate. The strength of McCain vs either in spite of his war support and current economy should be really scary to any leftist dreaming of riding into the White house in 2008. Imagine, both of your candidates are tanking in spite of a 5 year war and dramatically down economy!!!!!!

The flap should have flapped earlier in the primary and Hillary would have been the Democratic candidate by now! I am tired of White American being on pins and needles when speaking on racial issues. Black America is overly sensitive to race in America. Getting a taste of your own medicine does not feel good! Shame on you Black America!!

Tha pastor flap has been erased- WHEW- the media darling that is Obama can breathe a sigh of relief. Now all he needs is something concete to say and any type of accomplishment to champion and the rest of us "typical white people" will have a real reason to vote for him!
McCain is the best democrat in this race, hands down.

Clinton holds an apparent advantage over Obama heading into the April 22 primary election in Pennsylvania."
Talk about burying the lead.

Hooray! for begging for bigots like John McCain and his cheerleaders, college Republican Jeffy have been doing.

While Barack Obama gets hammered for having a pastor who occasionally (read: hardly ever) goes off the deep end, John McCain gets a free pass for crawling on his hands and knees to secure the blessing of a vile, racist, homophobic, fascist, anti-American, anti-Muslim, anti-Jew, pro-end-of-the-world, cottage-cheese-breathed, lunatic-fringed Reverend. Oh, that's right, I forgot: the black ones all have to be mainstream saints who run their words through a Caucasian Non-Offense Translator. The white ones "just talk like that...they don’t mean nothin' by it." So, yeah, it's a level playing field.

Nic-
I've read the speech many times and it is a long speech- maybe too long. Still 'which' statements did he disavow- that the US government had prior knowledge of the attack on Pearl Harbor? That government gives drugs to people of color to enslave them? These comments go further and cannot be explained by some lame comment 'of elevating what is wrong with what is right about America.' Obama himself raises the more important question in the next paragraph for him and others- "Why not join another church?" Perhaps Obama sees more than you the importance of associating with such a mind set.Of course, Obama should answer the question why not leave the church?

I hope that Obama gets nominated -- because I would welcome another four years of Republicans before I would vote for Clinton.

Well, if it's true, which I doubt, thank goodness, I have plans to cross over to the republican party in november. I don't plan on voting for someone who is "proud for the first time in her life," and had a "typical white grandmother."

Here is an EVEN Better Youtube Video

Yeah and slavery was just a myth too.

Go stick your head back up your arse, Mr Redneck clown.

The media flap over Rev. Wright's out-of-context three-second soundbite is just another example of how tv news media nowadays work actively 24/7 to deceive their viewers. Ever wonder how we got into this war in the first place? The tv news media wanted it bad, because war is good for ratings. They are subhuman scum -- from Soledad O'Brien to Bill O'Reilly.

I agree with Mark Silva: The media, including the Democrats who write for the Swamp, accomplished something in their overtime drive to erase the "pastor flap" (as reporter Mark Silva so dismissingly calls it)--at least among Democrats in and out of the media.

What is important is that the momentum has shifted to Hillary Clinton. People have glimpsed the man behind Obama's public mask. Obama is sinking in the polls because he's a phony, a racist, a liar, a crook, and a traitor to his country. His spiritual leader is a man of hate and distorted theology and inflammatory lies who has blasphemed from the pulpit and showed his hatred for the United States. Those who don't love the ideals that this country was founded on should leave. It's a big world out there, and most want to come to America.

Hillary chances of winning the dem nominee are slim to none. Why is the media still pretending this is a close race? Dem nominees are selected by winning the most pledged delegates, thats Obama right now.

Speaking of media shills for Obama, it looks like Chris Matthews is getting that tingling feeling in his leg again.

Also, redneck is a tasteless slur against rural people who work for a living. Try to keep your prejudice and hate to yourself, okay there, John e? And you call McCain, who has never injected race into any political argument, a bigot? Wow is the kettle ever black.

Nice try guys, but just two days ago you trumpeting a Gallup poll showing Obama up three points as evidence he's bounced back, now Gallup is showing him up by only one. Furthermore, todays's Rasmussen shows Hillary up two. She was down eight before the flap. So it would appear that it is Obama's lead that has evaporated.

I know you're desperately trying to find his mojo again, but this was a weak effort to say the least.

I know there are many people who were just waiting for something to attack Obama with. They tried with Rezko and Rev. Wright. The thing is that there never has been any proven impropriety in regards to Obama and Rezko and it was Rev. Wrights sermon not Obama's. Obama is a smart, articulate and inspiring leader which is exactly what this country had not had in a very long time.

Both Clinton are Judas's to the American people...they are BOTH getting paid

We should judge a person by their deeds and actions and not their words.
The fact that Obama choose Mr. Wright as his spiritual teacher for 20 years and included Mr. Wright in his election staff speaks well for Mr. Obama’s thinking and actions. Words are easy to manipulate and it is UNLIKELY that Obama's recent speech was written by Mr. Obama anyway. Mr. Obama has a powerful and power hungry staff that will do or say anything to get him elected to power. And for those who haven’t done their homework regarding the cruelty of Mr. Obama’s wife to the poor and working class, I suggest you do.

But clearly this man Mr. Obama is not to be trusted with the future of our great country. And regardless that he is ‘fashionably black’ and that many of you have some desire to prove to yourself or to others that you are not prejudice and that you like ‘black people’ with an attitude of ‘See, I like black people, I’m voting for a black person,’ such an attitude of voting for a person because of their race is the definition of prejudice.

If Mr. Obama had a lighter skin tone, there is no way he would be tolerated in as much he is aligned with a violent religious group, and never says anything substantial. And not only that, consider today’s announcement that the chief of the firm involved in the State Department’s passport breach is Obama adviser. And that Obama has been caught lying about Rezko, regarding the amount of money Rezko gave him, and that Obama still hasn't come clean about his Rezko land deal.
Just look at the kind of people Mr. Obama associates with. If Obama were to become president, what would stop Mr. Obama from appointing Mr. Wright to his cabinet? And to be sure, if anyone complained about Mr. Wright’s appointment, no doubt they would be called racist, as this card is played daily by Mr. Obama and his clever unscrupulous staff.

Mr. Obama is partly running on ‘a premise of guilt’ that if you don’t vote for him, it is because you don’t like his race. This premise is manipulative premise and certain to have disastrous consequences for America and the world, for we should have as our country’s leader someone with wisdom and knowledge regardless of race, not someone hungry for power for the sake of power.

Out of all the 300 million people in America, is this really who you want for president?

Hats off to the Clinton campaign for the "vetting" of Senator Obama! Now we will have already heard everything that the Rebublicans can throw at him. He has endured the worst that Clinton politics can dish out.

No presidential hopeful has ever had to overcome more than Mr. Obama.

He did not come from power and privlage as did his opponents yet he is on top.

AGAINST ALL ODDS, more Americans have voted for him than any of the other candidates in this presidential race.

His campaign has been truly remarkable.

His life story up to now is a true testament of the power of the American Dream.

THE AUDACITY OF HOPE!

"Just goes to show Hillary doesn't have the staying power in the minds of the voters"

Yeah, that really explains her popularity in TX, OH,PA and many other large states!!

GO Hillary!

Obama is unelectable in the General Election. We all know, the "positive" spinners, can't "wish" something into existence. Nice try, but this won't go away. Patriots have longer memories than that.
I'll vote for Hillary but I'll vote for McCain before I vote for Obama. The media gave him a free pass and that's how he won all the early primaries. Even to this day every person on MSNBC literally gushes everytime he says a word. No one who supports him can say why except for the most basic platitudes and campaign slogans. The Democrats will lose big in November if he is their nominee.
Reverend Wright was will not and should not leave this election. No amount of 24/7 media promotion of Obama and villification of Hillary is going to change the fact that Barack Hussein Obama is not electable in the general election, not to the Presidency, the Vice Presidency or even re-electable to the U.S. Senate from Illinois. The Rev. Wright affair is far from over! It has only just begun. It is still being discussed night and day on the blog; and if Obama becomes the nominee the Republican attack machine will destroy Obama with it.

The Obamarama is OVER.

Amen, Keith Lifetime Southsider, who said:

Thank goodness people have come to their senses! All you have to do is really listen to the whole sermon. ANYONE willing to judge Dr. Wright on that one snippet is simply not fair. Noone should be judged by the worst/weakest moment of their lives, but by the sum of their existence and the CONTENT of their CHARACTER. Now all of you who listened to those snippets - I challenge you to do some REAL research and find out about the whole man. From President Kennedy to President Clinton, you will find no-one is PERFECT, but dont let a tiny point in time define the whole person. Do some research of your own.

I believe I recall reading your similar comments when the world unfairly dumped on your main man Don Imus. Three cheers to your consistency, my brother!

I agree that the "pastor flap" is far from over.
But, as has been noted by other posters on this site, the Trib and other media outlets are so enamored with Obama you'll never read or hear a negative comment. (NBC is the absolute worst of the networks)
The simple test is this: Obama said of his grandmother - the one he pitched under the bus - that she was "a typical white person." Not a word of criticism from the press. That should tell you everything you need to know about bias. Just imagine if Clinton had said someone was "a typical black person." She'd have been toast. But Saint Barack? Nope.

In our sexist society, our sexist media can turn what should have been a 'defend yourself against a wee hate whitee moment' into a 'civil rights speech' while clinton was doing POLICY stuff with Valerie Plame, the mortgage stuff and gets barely a mention--and then NPR (don't think it's LIBERAL folks==quite the contrary) bashes Hilary today instead of covering her.
This moment will pass.
Americans will see Obama for the fake war-monger that he is. He's voted for the war, remember, even while bashing those who HAD to vote for it or lose their heads and income in the face of a president the media was supporting!
This moment will pass. Americans will see Obama for the rank opportunist that he is. Note the Daley connection for wifey at U of C. How many vacation days she taken this year? does it merit that 200 g raise she got? Note the Rezko pork barrel stuff.
This moment will pass. And if it doesn't--remember how irrelevant a gallup poll is for actual voting.
Remember the electoral college?
Our only HOPE of defeating john mccain, now that Obama failed to fold into Edwards' viable campaign, is Hilary.

If people are upset about Rev. Wright's comments, they apparently haven't yet heard Mr. Obama's "typical white person" statement.

He's entitled to his biases (as we all have them), but what does it suggest about his ability to unite people if he has left them unexamined?

What flap? Obama's closest personal advisor and mentor only damned America several times over the past 20 years and accused every white person of being racist in and out of his sermons. People consider Obama to be the Messiah coming to save us from our original sin flocking to his sermons in droves like sheep, fainting and responding in Amens. Isn't that what Revelations described false hearted people would do. It was stated that America would be destroyed from the inside out and Obama has not failed in his intention. Jihad? Racial war? Civil unrest? Inequality? Affirmative action? Special rights for those still enslaved? What is wrong with that? The false hearted deserve what they will get. Here in the real world I have faith that this election will focus on the truly important political topics at hand and the most experienced person shall prevail. This of course is not the obviously inexperienced and highly racist Osama I mean Obama. For those of you who defend his and his pastor's beliefs get out of our great country and go live in Africa!

Jack,

and to anyone else who insists on inserting Barack Obama's middle name when they speak or write of him -- grow up, okay? It was completely out of Obama's control what his parents chose as his middle name, for God's sake -- his middle name may be sacred in his father's religion or a completely common middle name -- what in the world would that have to do with the man's leadership ability & brains. My parents gave me a middle name that sounded "cool & pretty" to them in the 50s -- why should that have *anything* to do with me as a middle-aged adult? For all you know, Jack may be a racial slur in other cultures, so just grow up and open your eyes -- Americans have names that run the gamut of all the immigrant groups who populate our country, and in my opinion that make this an even greater, more open nation!

Lots of slander, some paranoia and some out and out nutcases on the blogs today...

I don't know where some of you "people" get your info, I'll assume your tin foil hats were defective that day or something...but to expect that any thinking person would actually believe that Obama has a secret agenda involving Black Reparations and is a hate racist etc is just plain stupid.

The wilder these posts get the more it reminds me that I need to lock my doors at night in case any of you are wandering my local streets.

Meanwhile, this "Typical White Person, Mid-Fifties White Male" who actually read the entire speeches surrounding the 5 second video clips that are whipping you up into a frenzy will vote for Obama.

I don't "know" that Obama will do a great job as President, but I do KNOW that Hillary and McCain WON'T.

Clinton camp rep. admits that Hillary lied about having had to run and duck sniper fire in Bosnia.

Hillary Rambo Clinton for President in 08.

She has passed the Imaginary Brave Deeds Threshold for Commander In Chief!!!!

Also, redneck is a tasteless slur against rural people who work for a living. Try to keep your prejudice and hate to yourself, okay there, John e? And you call McCain, who has never injected race into any political argument, a bigot? Wow is the kettle ever black.

That's right college Republican Jeffy and as long as your team (GOPer's) keeps dishing it out I'm going to keep throwing it back in your face.

MCCAIN sought out this guys endorsement:

"Rod Parsley a fundamentalist Christian, has called for the eradication of Islam as a false, anti-Christian religion, and for Christians to wage a new crusade against Islam. Parsley wants his followers to man their battle stations, ready their weapons, and lock and load to let the reformation begin. Guess this fits right in with McCain’s "bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran" favorite song and philosophy".

"Additionally, Parsley and his Center for Moral Clarity have called for the outright prosecution of people who commit adultery, and have compared Planned Parenthood workers to Nazis. The CMC pushes a strict biblical response to moral issues like abortion".

"Further, Parsley's World Harvest church and ministries have been accused of engaging in pro-Republican activities in violation of its tax-exempt status, but have never been investigated or found guilty, amazingly enough, by the Republican-controlled Ohio (and federal) government. In recent elections in Ohio, Parsley and his ministries have been a key to fundamentalist Christian GOTV efforts, for the likes of George Bush in 2000 and 2004 and for the failed (thankfully!) gubernatorial run of Ken Blackwell in 2006".

http://bravenewfilms.org/topics/rod-parsley

Crazy McCain can see it already, his name and positions being televised on Breakthrough TV by his spiritual guide round-the-clock, all over the country and world for the next six months, free of charge to McCain...and tax-free for the Parsley Flake.......and moral-free if we’re keeping it real.

Are some of you people for real? If a white candidate had a minister that spoke about the US and blacks, like Wright did about the US and whites, the media would have demanded a much, much stronger than Obama's and certainly would have not been as easy on him/her. I believe Clinton has the edge now and it will continue to the convention.

Here's another reason why Hillary has NO CHANCE of "winning" this thing and her cheerleaders on here know it.

THE CLINTON'S ARE LIAR'S AND HYPOCRITES!!!

"During one of the most difficult periods in the presidency of Bill Clinton, he addressed a group of clerics at an annual prayer breakfast in September 1998 just as the Starr report outlining his dalliance with Monica Lewinsky was about to be published".

"Among those in attendance, was the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., who is seen shaking hands with Mr. Clinton in a photograph provided today by the Obama campaign. Mr. Wright’s relationship with Senator Barack Obama, as his longtime pastor, has been the subject of considerable controversy in recent days because of incendiary excerpts of sermons Mr. Wright gave at their church, Trinity United Church of Christ, in Chicago".

People in this country should grow up on stop fighting against each other.
divided body or water have no stringht, so let us stand up together for America as one people.

My grandfather was a minister (white church), he was a good man and I loved him but in the 27 years that I listened to him preach there were a whole host of things I heard him say that I disagreed with.

Like I said, as a whole he was a good man BUT I didn't always agree with him and I never left.

If you ever find someone who you agree with 100% of the time then I suggest that you leave because you have stopped challenging yourself to learn or think and you have therefore become a non-thinking robot.

I'm disgusted at how people have tried to score political points off of this pastor nonsense but I guess I shouldn't be surprised anymore after the swiftboat stuff from 2004.

Just remember this people, you get the country that you vote for, so "Bomb Bomb Iran" I guess it is for us...

Do you Hillary supporters rub elbows with many Republicans? Hillary might turn out more Republicans and right-leaning independents to vote AGAINST her than McCain will turn out to vote FOR him. IF Hillary wins, it will cost the Democrats dearly in federal and state legislatures, just like it did when Bill was President.

Clinton is not Jesus. Therefore, Richardson is not a "Judas."

Hey JOhn-Chicago,

What did Wright say about whites? If you will look at his entire sermon, you'll find it not so radical as the soundbites.

What, the U.S. shouldn't be damned for killing innocent people? God should approve the U.S. of killing innocent people? What about the 6 Iraqis mistakenly killed by US troops this past weekend. Should God bless that?

The only thing worse than Wright's statements is blind patriotism that can see no fault in one's own government or need to improve it.

Pot, meet kettle.

The real insight into Obama's moral wasteland can be found in his support for infanticide - I'm glad I have better things to do on Sunday mornings than spend time in church with callous hypocrites like him.

tomkandrews, are you kidding me?

Obama did not "throw his grandmother under the bus." Your ideological commitments have made you entirely incapable of seeing reality, even as it slaps you in the face. Have we seriously come to the point where we cannot admit that racial stereotypes are widespread or "typical?" Obama wasn't saying anything about white people's intentions or about conscious bigotry. He was talking about subconscious and socially ingrained emotions and stereotypes. If we cannot admit that our culture is deeply and unfairly ingrained with fears of Black criminality and aggression, then what can we admit? I pray for your willingness to prize reality and truth more than your other commitments.

No, we haven't seen the last of Reverend Wright, and state head-to-head polls show Obama taking a big hit in "purple" states. The national Democratic polls probably reflect a surge in Obama's support on the heavily populated coasts, but in the bowling alleys and corner bars of middle America, people have not forgotten about Obama's 20 year association with this nut.

WELL IF OBAMA GETS THE NOMINATION I AM ONE DEMOCRAT THAT WILL VOTE MCCAIN!!! MR EVERYBODIES VOTE SHOULD COUNT, BUT HE IS TRYING HIS HARDEST TO BOYCOTT MICH AND FL BECUASE HE KNOWS IT WILL SWING HILLARY'S WAY!! WHAT A FRAUD, AND ONE SPEACH IS WHAT IT TAKES TO GET EVERYBODY TO FORGET ABOUT "GOD DAMN AMERICA" A SPEACH HE PROBABLY DIDN'T EVEN WRITE!!! PROVE YOU CAN WIN A REAL STATE! NOT STATES THAT GENERALLY VOTE REPUBLICAN! AND WHO CARES ABOUT BILL RICHARDSON, WE HAVE ENOUGH ILLEGALS IN THIS COUNTRY, PUT THESE TWO NEXT TO EACH OTHER, AND MAY THE GATES OPEN WIDE OPEN!!!GOD HELP THIS COUNTRY!!! NO EXPERIENCE AND ALL TALK WE ARE GOING TO NEED HELP. I AM A BUSINESS OWNER AND IF HE GETS NOMINATED, MY VOTE IS SECURELY WITH JOHN MCCAIN!!

Might I remind you that in the South, it was usually right wing white ministers in the front when the lynching occurred. And people sang Amazing Grace as the lynchings progressed.

So you are full of crap. White Ministers like Falwell were FAR worse then than the EX-MARINE Reverend.

I doubt for white voters the pastor flap has been erased. Actually, its impossible to say until voting begins again at the end of April. I wonder if Hillary wins the next 4 contests if the media will still insistent that she should drop out and Obama is a sure thing. It seems mainstream media is determined to convince everyone that the race is over, even though Obamas delegate lead is slim to say the least. BTW I doubt the AMerican people will continue to support someone who BFF spews unpatriotic speech. Besides its a race against McCain now. I guess we will have to wait for the obvious..Obama to loose the remaining contests.

Good to see the femicrats chime in, Geraldine.

The trail of tears
were the original
native americans of this land were forced to walk
away from there homes and walked hundreds of miles to reservations far away from the pilgrims. When the thirst for land grew we pushed them out of the older reservations and made them walk farther to dakota and monatana many died of exhaustion from the journey. The native americans of this country will vote for Obama. America is not god and at times have commited serious sin.
Rev Wright speech is about how america failed to pass the morality test of jesus teachings. Droping nukes on Japan was an easy way to win the war it doesnt make it right that thousounds of innocent people were vAporised and thousounds more still are effected to this day from the radiation.

What a load of crap. If that's the best they have on Obama, he will be the next president. His pastor is mad at racial injustice in America...what a thought.

4000 DEAD, NO MCBUSH

Hillary has poor memory in the war zone??

Can't wait for the Obama presidency....just think, Wright, Farrakan and Jackson as his cabinet.

CNN today:

(CNN) -- A majority of Democrats would like to see Barack Obama rather than Hillary Clinton win their party's presidential nomination, according to a national poll out Monday.

A new poll out Monday shows Democrats prefer Sen. Obama over Sen. Clinton to win the nomination.

Fifty-two percent of registered Democrats questioned in a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey say the senator from Illinois is their choice for president, with 45 percent supporting Clinton.

The poll also suggests Democrats are more enthusiastic about an Obama victory (45 percent) than for a victory by the senator from New York (38 percent).

Obama do what is best for the party not for you and your religion walk away try in 8 years.

Is now OK to make references to people as typical of their ethnic group and to make assumptions about the group since this practice has received the Obama Seal of Approval. Too bad Obama wasn't around when Ross Perot make his infamous "you people " reference to the NAACP. Like Obama, Ross said he didn't mean anything negative by it.

I'm not a femicrat. I am, however, working for 6 cents on every 10 that men with equal pay get, and I'm sick of being called racist by the Obamites when I disagree with them SLIGHTLY. Talk about McCarthy tactics--they were first used by the Obamas in this cycle. Hilary's pulled her punches. McCain won't be so nice.

John, keep up the anti-southern hate speech. All you're doing is turning off swing voters in places like Tennessee. Thank you for doing our work for us!

Christopher Hitchens has a great piece in Slate today. It's often said that a politician would sell out his own grandmother for higher office but we never actually saw one try to do it until Obama. The woman who raised him for most of his childhood, nonetheless.

http://www.slate.com/id/2187277/

"You often hear it said, of some political or other opportunist, that he would sell his own grandmother if it would suit his interests. But you seldom, if ever, see this notorious transaction actually being performed, which is why I am slightly surprised that Obama got away with it so easily. (Yet why do I say I am surprised? He still gets away with absolutely everything.)"

The whole thing was blown out of proportion. If Obama is going to be condemned for words that his former pastor spoke, then Catholics like me should be condemned for following an institution that has had members in the past speak hateful things about Jews, Muslims, gays, single people, etc. Come on people! I am a lapsed catholic but in my younger days I sat through some pretty terrible sermons where hateful things were being spewed by representatives of the catholic church. I am a spiritual person, that doesn't mean I agree with everything that is said. Obama should be no more condemned than any other person who has sat through sermons and lectures that preached intolerance. I am glad that the flap has died down, we've got much bigger issues to deal with.

Rasmussen

Monday, March 24, 2008

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows ongoing volatility in the Democratic Presidential Nomination. Nationally, Hillary Clinton now holds a very slight advantage over Barack Obama, 46% to 44%.

While I, unlike Obama, understand entirely what the Reverend was trying to say (such 'loyalty') and even agree with his points (well, he could have made them with a bit less force), I don't think the Republicans will in the fall.
A gallup poll makes it all better? Is that the way we elect a prez? I thought there was that thing in the middle--the electoral college--no?
Worse is the sexism of the campaign. It began with Michelle making fun of Hilary for not being able to 'run her own house'
An interesting link about third wave feminism here:

Republicans won't forget about Wright's comments, unfortunately. And, fortunately, we middle aged women won't forget what was done to Geraldine Ferraro.
I'll vote for Obama if he's on the ticket. But no phone banking, etc..
I'll help get a democratic majority in congress, but I'm not going to be putting more time or effort into his career until and unless he apologizes to Geraldine and to Hilary for all the sexist jibes.
This was such a waste.
Where's John Edwards and Dennis Kucinich?

Ladies and Germs, tonight on lead vocals, BILL CLINTON!!

C'mon! Sing it with me, Hillary cheerleaders

Sara: Your comments are out of touch with reality- a community organizer is not an "agitator." I happen to live in a white neighborhood very close to the neighborhood Barack Obama worked in as an organizer- and let me tell you, this is an extremely poor and disenfranchised community who NEED people like him to help them work within the political system to get services they both need and deserve. This is a service to all and a path out of racism- or don't you think that both black anger and white stereotypes are fed by ghetto neighborhoods where blacks don't have decent opportunities and overcome by providing economic opportunity and equal access to services?

As far as Reverend Wright goes, Obama is correct that these ideas are not uncommon among inner city blacks-- what he didn't say, and what needs to be said, is, first, that there are real historical reasons for these suspicions, however misguided they ultimately are, and that the larger context of the sermon(s) is pretty normal Christian preaching, with a real spiritual point- watch the whole sermons for yourselves, if you doubt this. Wright may be wrong, but he's not a racist, or unpatriotic, not an evil monster- quite the opposite. But if you want racism and inflammatory remarks, there are plenty of right-wing pastors you can listen to (and Bush and McCain have, without being attacked in this way).

Who wouldn't get a bump with the way the corproate media went bananas over Obama's speech?

I am beginning to realize that people who will not let this former pastor thing die, would not have voted for Obama anyway. Which is fine, just don't use this as an excuse.

I want to hear about Obama's plan for the economy and how he is going to get our brave men and women out of Iraq.

It is going to take the Republicans to bury Obama with his own well-deserved dirt.

The Democrats, and the media, will end up looking like idiots for not knowing, or not reporting, what everyone else knew all along.

If the media thought they looked like fools for the New Hampshire reporting debacle how will they ever save face when Fox starts reporting the truth about Obama if/when he ends up going against McCain?

"Lots of slander, some paranoia and some out and out nutcases on the blogs today...

-JJR60616, an Obamabot, would know something about slander and tin foil.

"RE: Ferraro:'They're attacking me because I'm white'(Quote fron CNN)

First, who's "They"?? If you're "implying" the "Blacks" you're STILL wrong.

I'm an American mid-50's "White" man who has "attacked" the idiotic thing you said in a few forums, because what you said is so patently stupid I assume you should be checked for mental issues.

You're completely discounting all the predominately white states Obama has already won, so give some White Americans the credit they deserve for looking past race and selecting the more inspiring candidate over the devisive one.

And if anything, if you REALLY want to inject race into this, his color and heritage (yet again...sigh) were no advantage and don't seem to have been off-limits at any time I can think of during this entire campaign.

He's where he is today because a HUGE number of Americans think he can be more of a voice for us and our problems than the business as usual politicians. And a lot of Republicans (and many Democrats) just don't get it...that we DON'T WANT Experience at this elitist lobbyist-weighted cocktail party system in Washington, we want someone to put it in it's proper place.

And that would be BEHIND the common citizens concerns. 12 BILLION a MONTH for a war we never should have been in?

144 Billion annually we could instead throw at OUR crumbling infrastructure, domestic job & economy issues. Our boys being hurt and dying in another country while the high schools kids here are shooting each other.

No, Geraldine you're a put-up job by the Clintonistas and if you were really doing this on your own you would have been fired. You're not fooling anyone and you've damaged YOUR own legacy to support business as usual, so while that may help you on the Washington cocktail circuit (until Barack gets there anyway) it really told us all we need to know about YOU.
March 12, 2008 9:31 AM"

Powers wasn't fired. Was Powers a put up job by Obama? Did she also damage her legacy, or once elected Obama will nominate her to some gov. position?

Because I love off the record politicians. Right up there with frustrated politicians and angry pastors.

I'll give YOU more sane than nutty, but slander and conspiracy might need a tweak...

On topic it might be "over" for now, but I'm sure it will resurface again in the general...so I'll wait for that poll to see if this is just a phase or Democrats falling over themselves.

no more bush/clinton/bush/clinton

the first three were three for three with declaring war

declaring war apparently helps the contributors to bush/clinton

More anti-southern propaganda. I can't imagine why you guys can't win a single border state.

to ALL hillary supporters;

many of you argue that because of the damage done to obama lately, he is unelectable and therefore that hillary is electable

that is not a logical argument

BUT consider obama, mccain, nader and clinton - then consider this ; hillary has at least as many skeletons in her closet as obama and mccain combined (which is an awful lot)

BUT let's just say for the sake of getting along that you guys were TOTALLY neutral about all of this before these things came to light - these things which make now obama "unelectable" in your opinions

who do you think dug this stuff up on obama ???

it was hillary

her diabolical plan was to make herself look more electable than she used to look simply by making obama less appear less electable than he used to look

HILLARY AND CARVILLE'S PLAN WAS WORSE THAN THE PLAYBOOK OF ATWATER OR ROVE OR LBJ OR ANY CLASSIC NEGATIVE CAMPAIGNER

but the plan worked a little too well didn't it ??? or maybe it only half worked

in this cynical calculation, she knew the math was way, way, way against her (before Texas) and she had THREE CHOICES ;

1) finish the election honorably and see what happens (maybe she is VP on the ticket or maybe obama has a stroke from his years of smoking or maybe finishing the election with honor is not immediately helpful to hillary personally - but no matter what - just try to show some dignity and let the chips fall where they may - at the VERY least you may help your country be less divisive)

2) bow out gracefully - support obama and save her money and help defend her party's candidate

3) take the low road and play the race card (and alienate all who saw it as such), attack obama's legitimacy as a candidate (simultaneously insulting those who supported him), try unethically to get florida and michigan back into play (showing a double standard about fairness issues) and tear down obama's electability in general with negative campaigning (no matter what it did to her party or her country)

she cynically chose choice number three

let us give her credit - she is smart

she figured on at least two things (maybe three)

first she figured maybe she could somehow catch up and miraculously beat the mathematical odds with her cynical solution and even if she did not, she thought she could either make obama less electable in 2008 so he would lose in 2008 and she could be frontrunner in 2012 or maybe she could force a stalemate and force her way onto the ticket as VP - an occurence which was rather unlikely without the stalemate

so she made her cynical choice and now it looks like she did not carefully enough consider the other following possibilities;

she might be negative enough to keep obama from being elected but also hurt herself in so doing - so severely that she removes herself from VP consideration, makes obama unelectable and removes herself from 2012, 2016 frontrunner status - even if obama loses (or wins but has illness or some other reason he cannot run in 2012)

why would she have taken such a risk ???

the answer is clear;

classic blind AMBITION - me first - just like with bill c.

with the clintons - it's ALWAYS about the clintons - classic sociopathic narcissism

true - many selfish power hungry people are quite successful

but sometimes they go too far for their own good

at any rate, you haven't addressed the number one question you should be asking

IF hil-LIAR-y is so darn electable, why will she not release her tax forms ???

TAX FORMS /// TAX FORMS /// TAX FORMS

............WHERE ARE THEY HIL-LIAR-Y ???

I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW P
ARISHERS ARE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR WHAT A PASTER SAYS.

Pastor flap is not gone , it hiding in the background, ready to poke its head out, just like a snake, spewing anti-American venom. We shall see in the primaries to come. Obama tried so hard to hide Rev. Wright and Rezko, but eventually all the trash comes out, its just a matter of time.

Interesting that no Obama supporter has answered the "what if" question. As in "What if Clinton had described someone as "a typical black person"?
Different set of rules? C'mon. At least admit to your double-standard.

Chris Matthews at MSNBC and three other commentators have concluded that if Obama wins the democratic primary, Hillary would rather see Obama lose to McCain in November than see Obama win the presidency. I also happen to believe that Hillary is willing to throw the democratic party "under the bus" in 2008 in the hopes that she can run for President in 2012, if need be. So much for her dedication to democratic principles, the party's concern for the working person, the environment, universal health care, etc, etc. It's really all about her and only about her.
OBAMA/RICHARDSON '08!!!!

It is about time the truth has come-out!!! It seems as though most of the Chicago Black churches are involved in politics...Someone should notify the IRS to take-away the tax exempt status from these so-called churches and start with Trinity. They are breaking the law and should be punished !!!

I wouldn't care if Obama was purple as long as he got us out of Iraq and out of this economic recession. I'm tired of seeing maimed soldiers, paying big bucks for gas, and watching American companies go overseas.
I don't care about Obama's pastor or his white grandmother. I care about what's happening to the USA.

The other day I saw a reporter tell Dick Cheney that the American public was growing tired of the war. He replied, "So!" I was furious. Do you think I want another Republican to keep the Bush/Cheney policy?

The American people better get their priorities straight. When your son/daughter dies or loses a limb in an unnecessary war and your job goes overseas, you'll have nobody to blame but yourself.

For those of you who think Hillary is the answer, think again. The Republicans are voting for her in the primaries now. They want her to beat Obama. This tells me that the Republicans know that if the American people come to their senses and vote for a man who will actually do something positive for us, McCain will lose.

So I ask you, why does anybody care about Obama's color or religion? We've been screwed by a clueless, egotistical president for eight years whose daughters will always be safely on American soil. Why should we continue the agony?

To Viv: What are you smoking???

The flap is over? You wish.

The Gallop polls mean absolutly nothing and you know it. This is nothing but propaganda blowing smoke at people and "congrats" for being so smart and above it all. The man gave over 20k to that church of hate and is not being judged by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character, no matter how you spin it. He will get crushed in the general election and you know it.

I finally read the whole transcript of the speech he made. It was brave. It was humble. It was one of the most tactful, poignant and meaningful speeches I think I have ever heard in my 26 years young years from any politician.

If Obama can show such a level head in the primaries, imagine how he can do facing the obstacles that this nation is facing right now.

This is the kind of person I want running the country. A person with substance, intelligence, eloquence and an ability to see all sides of every issue.

Barack Obama is my choice. I hope it can be yours too.

As a Typical Black Person I will answer the question what if Hillary made that statment. Honestly, I am not sure how I would react. It would be based on the context of the statement. Not just the words. Unlike many of you commenting on this blog, I go beyond the sound bytes. I have read more hateful things on this blog than I would every think of. You don't like Obama, that is your right, but some of you are out of control becuase you are allowing your racism to show. Why are you so afraid of a Black man in the White house? You would rather vote for McCain and insure the war will continue than to vote for a man who opposed the war from the start. I heard on ABC this morning that 57% of the American's who have died in this war are white boys. You would rather vote for a man who has pledge to keeping killing your sons than to see a black man in office. That tells me you put your racism above the lives of your sons and daughters.
And you have the nerve to say Obama is a racist.

I heard Bill Richardson said today he wants the party to unify. I've got news for him and the rest of you Obama lovers.....if he wins the nomination many Clinton supporters like myself who have been treated so rudely will either not vote or vote for Nader. How's that for unity 'turncoat' Bill Richardson?

Posted by: HILLARY'S CHOICE (WHY SHE CHOSE THE MOST EVIL OF THE THREE OPTIONS SHE HAD) | March 24, 2008 7:44 PM

Obama had a choice. Instead of staying out of the race when polls and attitudes strongly favored Hillary after eight long years of Bush, people saw her as a very real option for POTUS, Obama continued his-narcissistic-self in the race from obscurity to becoming even with Hillary; erasing her lead and in essence splitting up the party, ie her potential votes went to him. He said she'd make a good leader. He'd make a better leader. Was it worth staying on just because it would make the difference, in his mind, between a leader and a better leader even if it came at the expense of splitting up the party in a crucial election? How can Obama back her as a leader after making his central podium her questionable judgment? Empty words or double talk?

The last point is to illustrate not only a point, but to also point out how if there is 20 pounds of dirt on Hillary there will be 20 pounds of dirt on Obama against a Republican. Not only does the Republican party have the advantage of drawing differences on actual issues, but every attack on Hillary by Obama and his campaign will become an open for an attack on Obama for a Republican.

He could have backed Clinton and then ran four years later- beefing up his credentials, "experience," and making a stronger case against what can't be mistaken as anything else BUT HER decision making AS A president. In the open and can't be mistake for Clinton's decision, even with her as supporting role. And, even manage to claim the opportunity to seize on the superficialities, that mostly make up politics, moments of historic change--support a woman president to break the glass ceiling. Adding credibility to his change maker and uniting mantra. How could one argue with a guy who supported a woman for President with Grandma analogies?

Honestly, I don't know where it all started and who is at fault. I know everyone contributes, so the fault is spread around, in the tit for tat. All of the thoughts before this sentence are just speculation; just like the new tall tale about Hillary planning to run to loose the election for her party so she can be elected eight years later. I guess when your off from the gates jockeying candidates, you tend to really get off course. We are where people said we would be, with these two running, and will be as we keep going--all the way to the convention, a very real possibility.

Finding out if it was the chicken or the egg, who started the divide, is a waste of time. Any such attempt has nothing to do with unity and brotherly party love, and more to do with circling like a vulture over the live body of a breathing candidate until you can finally say "See, I told you so, she's dead, she's always been dead, and let's eat." It's mean spirited. Regardless, of the target.

"classic blind AMBITION - me first - just like with bill c.

with the clintons - it's ALWAYS about the clintons - classic sociopathic narcissism"

The same Bill C many like you point to, to show that Bill C was as inexperienced as Obama when he first ran (Obama just a tad more experienced)--so it must be good. Or, maybe there is some truth to people like Geraldine and the Reverend. Somewhere between the inappropriate hostility lies a truth. For the record, all of the innuendo remarks (Ferraro) and the 5 second heavy "incendiary" remarks (Wright) and generalized words (ie "typical white woman,") are inappropriate. It's one thing to guide inform and share with your fellows. Quite another to get caught up in frustrations (Ferraro), anger(Wright), and passive expressions(Obama Bill C).

The truth to Ferro.
To a certain extent take a few things away and we have elected someone like Obama. Running because he's new to Washington, unlike those guys, on the party of incumbents missed this major issue(war) and forgot this issue (economy). Banking off we-are-so-sick-of-Washington, I just want 180 degrees, no matter what that means.

The truth to Wright.
If you look at the US, race has been and continues to be an issue, and, no matter the progress of leaps and bounds in comparison to where we were, not only does US policy inflict it's own wounds, race issues and de facto institutionalization of racial disparity, but sometimes creates wounds in other countries ie policy issues used to solve one problem coming back to haunt us because it lead to another set of problems; and both domestic and international wounds come back to surface at different times.

As a last thought, may I offer that when we look back it just might be the DNC offered these two because it would give us options and actually allow for a black man or woman to become president. The attacks on race and sex can't become a serious major issue, it traditionally is, between a Dem and Rep if it is linked to in party fighting and sign of incivility. A Republican can't embrace it and distance himself at the same time.

I'm a Hillary Fan, I will admit, but in reality I'm so over this whole race that I'm voting for Mark Silva :) (Frank James for VP if he promises not to outlaw the following keyboard letters C- L- I- N- T- O- N-, and Bruce for for secretary of secretaries to keep polls "accurate." See, I'm being inclusive.)

To clarify I meant.

In the open for everyone to see. It can't be mistaken for Bill Clinton's decision with her as supporting role ,at best, if she is in the role of POTUS.

Hey TBP ummmmm White "boys" is a racist statement. Remember the glas house theory?

OK so now that we know Obama takes money from Big Banks and Investment Firms -- The ones that finance the war, benefit from the Oil crisis with record stock market prices, and selling waepons of war and marketing war, and swiis banks who benefot from Drugs sales and who knows what; and now that we know Obama lies about how much money he got from Rezko, first he said 60K, then 125K, finallt $250k, and he first lied and said he didn't know about about Wrights racist comments in Church then said he did know and gave a beautiful speech to erase the damage; and now that we know Obama is not loyal to his friends and got Rev. Wright to resign from the Church to help Obama; and now that we know that Resko fund raises for both Obama and Bush, and that Obama's position ob the war only differend in Bush in tactics and that Obama would threaten a nuclear war in Pakistan... How is he NEW and Different. His best friends are the Old Boy Network, and Republicans so he'll probably pull Democrats Right... So what Hope is he bringing US. People seem less United than before Obamaa, and Obama goes Tit-for-Tat with Hillary and we know she is not more Negative than her... So what is he offering again? The most inexperienced person to ever run for President?

I trust Hillary's leadership and Judgment and her commitment to work hard to bring the change that will restore US to peace and prosperity, what's Obama going to do for USagain, be Bi-Racial? Is that an Issue?

He's great at creating news based on nothing -- like the passport thing, and managing to get Photo opps from nothing like a coup with Condoleeza Rice based on the passport thing and 3 people getting fired... but what's he offering again? A Richardson endorsement? Is that another Obama race card, a passive aggressive attack on Hillary, or an issue. What issues does Obama talk about where he is stronger than Hillary, or is his goal to sell books and stop Hillary who really will back the Staus Quo... Obama may well be just a Bush Operative with Rezko as the go-between to stop Hillary and pave the way for a Republican.

If Obama thinks campaigning agaist Hillary is tough... He aint seen noting yet, republiocans will not follow Obama's rules of engagement and be easy on him as Hillary has been because he's another Democrat. Hillary can face McCain and win, but if Obama faces McCain, Wrightgate will be Rezkogate, and ll Obama's games will be exposed and McCain will sweep into office for 4-8 more years of Republicans. If that's not what We want... I can't figure out why they don't let Obama return to the Senate and work for change in the job he was hired to do in the first place.

I am a democrat and I want them to win in the General Election because of 2 things: the economy and the war. Because of our current situation of an inept President, our mighty dollar fell to the abyss, our retirement fund has gone down due to high costs of everything and fall DJ. However, these 2 democratic candidates are fighting a cut-the-throat competition, nobody wants to give way. Some people say Hillary and Bill are polarizing tho' their Administration was the best thing that happened to Democrats in the nineties. Some people say Obama is too ambitious with less experience, he wanted to be promoted immediately to Presidency without proving himself yet in the Senate. Now here are the Black/White issues...who wants a President who is entrapped by racism. We need someone to bring back America to a mighty country that we lost in Bush. How can these two candidates bridge that gap?

I think it shows people coming to their senses, voting for maturity, experience, and a woman for president is the sensible and intelligent thing to do.

Real quick the day before this all came out my onto the churches website and found these.. Now I am sorry but these are the churches values, the churches views the whole time, and he belonged to it the entire time... OBAMA I DON'T BELIEVE YOU!!!

Obama lied read and compare to todays news..Speech on Race

There’s a lot of folks in America right now who have heard that. And I want to ask you why you have been listening to this pastor and close to him for nearly 20 years?

SEN. BARACK OBAMA (D-IL), PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: Well, first of all, Anderson, you know, I strongly condemn the statements that have been shown on the tape.

I have to confess that those are not statements that I ever heard when I was sitting in the pews at this church. This is a church that I have been a member of for 20 years. This is a well-established, typical, historically African-American church in the South Side of Chicago, with a wonderful set of ministries.

OBAMA: And, as I said, Anderson, if I had heard any of those statements, I probably would have walked up, and I probably would have told Reverend Wright that they were wrong.

But they were not statements that I heard when I was in church.

COOPER: So, no one in the church ever said to you, man, last week, you missed this sermon; Reverend Wright said this; or...

OBAMA: No.

COOPER: I mean, I think I read in your books that you listened to tapes of Reverend Wright when you were at Harvard Law School.

OBAMA: I did.

COOPER: So, you had no idea?

OBAMA: I understand.

I did not. Well, I want to be clear that, when I ran for president, some of these statements started surfacing.

COOPER: I mean, you may not have been there, but have you -- you must have heard that he had said these things.

OBAMA: You know, I confess that I did not hear about this until -- until I started running for president.

And then there was a story that was issued in which I strongly objected to these statements and condemned them. But what I also understood that was -- was Reverend Wright was on the verge of retirement and that a new pastor was coming in. The church family was one that was very important to me. It's where my wife and I got married. It's where our children were baptized. And, so, my belief was that this was something out of the ordinary. Obviously, some of these statements indicate that this was happening more frequently.

But I also want to say this, Anderson. This is somebody who was a former U.S. Marine, who is a biblical scholar, who's preached and taught at theological seminaries all across the country, and has had a reputation as a preeminent preacher in the country.

And, so, I have to strongly condemn the statements that were made. They do not reflect my views or Michelle's views, or probably the views of many people in the church.

On the other hand, you know, Reverend Wright is somebody who is like an uncle or a family member who you may strongly object to what they have to say, but, as he's about to retire, I have no intention of leaving the church itself.

The only person who is qualified to be vice president is Monica Lewinsky

Please look at this article (sorry Trib - a competitor; though in Philly). I hope this is the sentiment of Pennsylvanians.

I find it hard to believe that every posters wants Obama to do this and do that i.e. leave the church, take the hit for Dr.Wright, say if he's a muslim, etc instead of focusing on his message of hope and new beginnings to Washington. If Obama is a muslim, people will complain, if he's an atheist people will complain, if he wears a lapel people will complain...it is getting really boring for bleeding heart, overly patriotic and over-zealous wannabes to say Obama is unelectable.
Well this is the news: the USA is losing it's appeal, China is building an empire, Most Americans can't afford their daily bread, the downward spiral of the economy is accelerating, Bush, Cheney and McCain is encouraging Americans to spill more blood and sacrifices their lives, clueless CEOs and fat-cats are living a life of luxury on taxpayers expense and, we are concern about a soundbite from a retired pastor? How feeble-minded and guillible are we? Think People, please think!!! Obama will win this thing because he's the best and most qualify candidate...period.

Gallop was 100% wrong in 2004 so what has changed?
No, everyone I have talked to thinks the real chicken is Obama. Why would he read a prepared speech from his speech writers in Philadelphia. He should be lecturing his church in Chicago,
He voiced surprise that mostly white Iowa voted for him. ?? Maybe We have evolved past hate. We are shocked by Rev Wright. Obama needs a few white people to help him write a speech to the Trinity church. Apparently for 20 years the black minister hasn't been able to teach love of all people. A close to Jesus person that can help them leave hate at the doorstep. AftIt seems the black people of Trinity Church need to be educated that America is a land of immigrants. Most came here in the last 100 years and we do not care to hear your race card hate. We are living in the here and now.
Start preaching love of your fellow man.
Mr Buchanan has written a good article ..how about gratitude instead of attitude.
A Brief for Whitey
by Patrick J. Buchanan

Posted: 03/21/2008

How would he pull it off? I wondered.

How would Barack explain to his press groupies why he sat silent in a pew for 20 years as the Rev. Jeremiah Wright delivered racist rants against white America for our maligning of Fidel and Gadhafi, and inventing AIDS to infect and kill black people?

How would he justify not walking out as Wright spewed his venom about "the U.S. of K.K.K. America," and howled, "God damn America!"

My hunch was right. Barack would turn the tables.

Yes, Barack agreed, Wright's statements were "controversial," and "divisive," and "racially charged," reflecting a "distorted view of America."

But we must understand the man in full and the black experience out of which the Rev. Wright came: 350 years of slavery and segregation.

Barack then listed black grievances and informed us what white America must do to close the racial divide and heal the country.

The "white community," said Barack, must start "acknowledging that what ails the African-American community does not just exist in the minds of black people; that the legacy of discrimination -- and current incidents of discrimination, while less overt than in the past -- are real and must be addressed. Not just with words, but with deeds ... ."

And what deeds must we perform to heal ourselves and our country?

The "white community" must invest more money in black schools and communities, enforce civil rights laws, ensure fairness in the criminal justice system and provide this generation of blacks with "ladders of opportunity" that were "unavailable" to Barack's and the Rev. Wright's generations.

What is wrong with Barack's prognosis and Barack's cure?

Only this. It is the same old con, the same old shakedown that black hustlers have been running since the Kerner Commission blamed the riots in Harlem, Watts, Newark, Detroit and a hundred other cities on, as Nixon put it, "everybody but the rioters themselves."

Was "white racism" really responsible for those black men looting auto dealerships and liquor stories, and burning down their own communities, as Otto Kerner said -- that liberal icon until the feds put him away for bribery.

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America.

Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to.

This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.

Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the '60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.

Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks -- with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas -- to advance black applicants over white applicants.

Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.

We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude?

Barack talks about new "ladders of opportunity" for blacks.

Let him go to Altoona and Johnstown, and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for "deserving" white kids.

Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America? Is it really white America's fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena. And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago.

What is amazing to me is that after the Rev. Wright story, no one is talking about what has really been revealed after this flap: Obama's claim of superior judgement. This campaign has been waged under 'experience vs judgement' theme. People enamored with Obama and others, like the media puppets they are, have allowed themselves to be distracted from the point this controversy revealed: that Obama's judgement, according to him, the most important reason why he should be president, is not as superior as he has conned people to believe. Everyone suddenly started talking about how brilliant his speech was, and every one started talking about race in America. But what people forgot to start questioning, blinded by the media's love affair and Obama's masterful oratory skills, is his Judgement. I am positive that if the person in the controversy had been Hillary, her campaign would have been over the minute the story broke. Why the double standard? I am not an Obama basher, i actually like the man, but for someone who has based his campaign on judgement as his paramount claim to his presidency aspirations, this whole controversy throws his 'superior judgement' clain out the window, and very far.... this claim of superior judgement is at best a self-delusion and at worst a fabricated lie spur by the fact that he was not in the senate to vote for the war. Obama camp, has somewhat accomplished with a 'brilliant' speech, what they set out to do: take the electorate mind off his number one claim to be president: Judgement.. Instead, every one is now praising him for the speech and talking about race giving him a free pass on this. You can talk all u want about race how great the speech was but, Superior Judgement? None sense..

Rickyboy,
Yes boys. When you are 60+ eighteen and ninteen year olds are boys and girls. Some barley out of high school. Thank you for proving my point. You exerciesed the word boys from the context of the writing and focused on that. The fact there have been 2,280 deaths was not significant, your thinking I was demeaning them by call them boys was. Just a thought, bet their friends and family would rather they be a living boy than a dead man.

REV. WRIGHT TOLD THE TRUTH!!!!!

Economy and War. That is all the Dems think about.

How about security? No Dem has ever been able to keep this country secure.

Are you willing to sacrifice the security of your family and friends to pull out of Iraq and get the economy moving?

Do you care the terrorists will be able to regroup under clinton and obama?

Bill Clinton and the Dems had 8 years to allow the defenses of this country to be ripped apart. With A dem in office, harry reid and nancy pelosi will wreak havoc on the Military. They will put the same walls up between the CIA, NSA, FBI and local law enforcement. They know that these walls keep the corruption of the Dem party from coming to the American People.

I hope that you all sleep well tonight, knowing that terrorist have a hard time under the current administration. Last Dem administration left us undefended and vulnerable.

Keep you kids and family safe. Keep the Dems out of office.

Where's Al Gore when we need him !!!

Hillary really will buck the status quo and be new and different -- our fisrt woman President. She is couragious and will restore the USA to Peace and Prosperity and is down-to-earth, brilliant and pragmatic.

Obama should work for change in the Senate and show us what he's capable of. Obama is more about Status Quo, though he claims to be different, he will be another Bush, just better at speeches. Obama is not a good negotiator without a script he panics, we need a great leader -- vote for Hillary.

It doesn't matter if Hillary wins Pensylvania. She has the democratic machine int that city bought and paid for so of course she is going to win. Look at the polls, Obama is ahead in North Carolina and Indiana. Clinton cannot win. Face the facts folks.

Rev. Wright talked about America being responsible for blacks being affected with aids. He was right in a way, do you remember the syphliss experiments on african Americans in Tusgagee? They were injected with the syphlis virus without their knowledge and tracked. These poor people brought syphlis home to their wives and children. Do you blame Rev Wright for being angry? I don't. As a matter of fact, I agree with a lot of what he said. I also agree with Obama that he understands Rev. Wrights anger, but his problem is that he needs to move past the anger and try to resolve it. After reading these posts, I can see that having an intellegent racial discussion in this country is going to be almost impossible because of all the racist bigotry expresed. God bless our country and God bless Barack Obama.

Is the Clintons blog?
You have us believe Hillary is electable because of her 35 years experience? Let's see:
She lied about Bosnia
She lied about Kosovo
She lied about Ireland
She lied about Nafta
What else is left in this bogus experience?
3 countries down 78 to go.

I guess nobody's still wondering if Barack Obama is a Muslim... lol.

The guy can't win. But he'll still win. And so will our country.

I am appalled at th emany posters here who are so full of hate, racism, and bigotry. I take it you are all Hillary believers. Can't you see the dirty games she is playing? Are you so blinded by your hate, racism, and bigotry that you cannot see Hillary's outrageous lies? Now that her White House Records have been released, people who reviewing them are saying they do NOT MATCH what she is claiming in her speeches!! In other words, Hillary has been feeding the nation a bunch of lies, lies, lies. She has run her campaign on FICTION AND NOT ON THE TRUTH! For this very reason, The upcoming states will NOT vote for her!! I believe the polls in PA will be narrowing for Hillary. NO BODY LIKES BEING LIED TO, PERIOD!!

HILLARY AND BILL LIE, LIE, LIE, AND LIE!! They have run her campaign on FICTION AND UNTRUTHS!!

Heavy Hitter? Not Hillary

By: Dick Morris & Eileen McGann

Now that Hillary Clinton's schedule as first lady has been released, her near-total lack of serious involvement in the real inner workings of the government is bluntly apparent.

There are few, if any, meetings with Cabinet members, congressional leaders, the National Security Council, the National Economic Council, leaders of the Irish peace process, players in the Bosnian crisis or representatives from Rwanda. All of her so-called experience is absent from her daily schedule. What's there, for us all to see, is one soft event after another, a schedule far more typical of such first ladies as Mamie Eisenhower or Lady Bird Johnson than of a future presidential candidate.

This near-total paucity of participation in policy-making dovetails with our recollection of her White House role. In 1995 and 1996, she largely toured the country, speaking at ceremonial events, wrote a book ("It Takes A Village") and toured the world. During her international travels, there was no serious diplomacy, just a virtually endless round of meetings with women, visiting arts-and-crafts centers, watching native industries and photo opportunities for the local media.

President Clinton's memoirs reflect this absence of substance. The book contains only a handful of mentions of his wife that aren't related to their joint travel, her health care-reform program or her ceremonial duties. The Hillary she now claims to be was nowhere evident.

Hillary Clinton was deeply involved in the White House's inner workings only from the time of Bill's election through the Democratic defeat in the congressional elections of 1994. She played a key role in choosing the Cabinet and staff, in crafting the health care-reform legislation and in relations with the Democratic Congress.

But Bill Clinton saw his loss of Congress as owing to Hillary's policies and ideas. He felt that his presidency had been captured by a liberal phalanx that included the first lady and such staffers as George Stephanopoulos and Harold Ickes. He realized the need to move to the center and exiled Hillary from the White House, asking her to mix the largely ceremonial duties of her "job" with writing, speaking and policy advocacy. Her key role in the White House was a thing of the past - and remained so through all of 1995, 1996 and 1997.

Only in January 1998 did Hillary come back to real power - in order to lead the defense to the Monica Lewinsky scandal and prevent Bill's impeachment. Of course, after April 1999, she was consumed with her New York Senate race.

So Hillary's experience, real enough in 1993-94, led to a total disaster, the first loss of the House for the Democrats in 40 years. Her experience in 1998-99 was focused almost exclusively on defending against impeachment, hardly relevant for the future. But her schedule shows the vacuity of her experience in the years in between - the key years of the Clinton presidency - when the budget was balanced, the economy turned around, welfare reformed, Bosnia transformed and Kosovo freed.

I am amazed at how many people still have done their research to see what exactly that sermon about Rev. Wright was. Please check this link and see that Rev. Wright is not the devil that the right wing is trying to describe and it is very sad that a lot of people are still really ignorant about this.
That is how the right wing swift boated the country with John Kerry and we ended up with Bush. One would think that after what we have experienced with Bush, the Nation will be vigilent not to fall into the same trap again. It looks like they are succeeding to fool us again.
So before anyone makes the decision to vote for McCain, take the time to read and watch this link.
Stay vigilent.

Obama 08

For me, the Wright affair did not provide any new information. White Americans, at least those living in urban areas with large concentrations of African Americans, well know that despite a veneer of civility, there is a huge amount of rage against whites in the black community. And affirmative action isn't helping, as we now live in a society where poor whites can easily lose
jobs or university slots to wealthy, privileged African Americans (or Latinos)in the name of affirmative action. Those whites will not, and should not vote for Obama. He has nothing for them.

When will Hillary endorse Obama? I am waiting; it will be very impressive after all this
I think very soon

Obama and anyone is much closer to a nighmare than a dream. Again with the negativity with his Blue Dress Comments, it doesn't stop with him. He is smelling real bad and tearing apart our party. I have already concluded I would never vote for this phoney agianst anyone. Nice job bring everyone together. I may be a "typical white person", but Obama you are a typical politicain!

Hey TBP ummmmm White "boys" is a racist statement. Remember the glass house theory?

People on this blog scare me..Where do they get their information? Wake up Americans and read quit attacking each other..we hve 4,000 Americans dead in Iraq and we are bickering over here...Wow!
I agree with one blog on here...GROW UP!

Clintonomes pretend that it is the Wright rantings that have them up in arms about Obama. However, they know it is just an excuse to rail against him. They cravely LOVE the fact that Wright said what he did.

THE HELL IT IS! TALK TO NON-BLACKS...
MYTH: Barack Obama is running a positive campaign that will unite Americans.
FACT: Barack Obama and his advisers have conducted a divisive "full assault" on Hillary's character.
While talking a lot about the politics of hope, change and unity, Sen. Obama and his campaign have been conducting a relentless and singularly personal assault on Hillary's character. They have blanketed big states with false negative mailers and radio ads and have described Hillary and her campaign as "disingenuous," "divisive," "untruthful," "dishonest," "polarizing," "calculating," "saying whatever it takes to win," "attempting to deceive the American people," "one of the most secretive in America," “deliberately misleading,” “literally willing to do anything to win,” and “playing politics with war."
This "full assault" on Hillary's integrity and character has reached a new peak since Hillary's victories on March 4th. One of Sen. Obama's top surrogates equated President Clinton with Joe McCarthy; another called Hillary a "monster;" and his campaign manager held an angry conference call claiming that Hillary is "deeply flawed" and has "character issues." That's neither unifying nor hopeful. If Sen. Obama really is the prohibitive favorite some say he is, these negative attacks make absolutely no sense. Why would a frontrunner seek to attack and divide? If Sen. Obama can't unify Democrats in a primary, how can he unify Americans in a general election?

CNN-Passport exec is Obama adviser, CEO of the company whose employees accused of improperly looking at the passport files of presidential candidates is consultant on foreign policy to the Barack Obama campaign

Obama Flip-Flops
1. Special interests In January, the Obama campaign described union contributions to the campaigns of Clinton and John Edwards as "special interest" money. Obama changed his tune as he began gathering his own union endorsements. He now refers respectfully to unions as the representatives of "working people" and says he is "thrilled" by their support
2. Public financing Obama replied "yes" in September 2007 when asked if he would agree to public financing of the presidential election if his GOP opponent did the same. Obama has now attached several conditions to such an agreement, including regulating spending by outside groups. His spokesman says the candidate never committed himself on the matter.
3. The Cuba embargo In January 2004, Obama said it was time "to end the embargo with Cuba" because it had "utterly failed in the effort to overthrow Castro." Speaking to a Cuban American audience in Miami in August 2007, he said he would not "take off the embargo" as president because it is "an important inducement for change."
4. Illegal immigration In a March 2004 questionnaire, Obama was asked if the government should "crack down on businesses that hire illegal immigrants." He replied "Oppose." In a Jan. 31, 2008, televised debate, he said that "we do have to crack down on those employers that are taking advantage of the situation."
5. Decriminalization of marijuana While running for the U.S. Senate in January 2004, Obama told Illinois college students that he supported eliminating criminal penalties for marijuana use. In the Oct. 30, 2007, presidential debate, he joined other Democratic candidates in opposing the decriminalization of marijuana.

Who cares...

So you must be obviously preaching to the "choir" or the super delegates that will ultimately select the nominee in the Democratic side of this race.

Illinois voters have spoken and the Tribune and Suntimes have already endorsed Obama.

I don't think the "tace issue" in this race has gone away when 81% of blacks support Obama and 76% of whites support Clinton.

For the sake of our country, ANYONE, but McCain...want our children & grand-children drafted, vote for him; have it; get what you desire.

I think it is time for the bickering between Hillary and Obama to be over. We desperately need to get to the real issues.

Let's just stipulate the facts that Obama is a black racist who despises America and has virtually no real substantive accomplishments during his time spent in elected office. And that Hillary is a compulsive exaggerator who will say and do anything to get elected, and who surrounds her-self with the most unsavory staff that would make Richard Nixon’s group look like choir boys.

Now, on with the issues.

Dumb me, I thought the bigots in this country were a dying breed. If bigots were blind, would they be bigots still? And religion - keep it out of politics - it belongs in church but mostly in one's heart.
Obama is biracial - white mother from Kansas; black father from Kenya. His white grandfather served in WWII in the Battle of the Bulge. So what does the media focus upon? His grandmother's fears and comments, which ARE typical of areas where there is no diversity of population.
Why don't you all 'fact-check' the comments and speeches yourselves? The Clinton's lie by omission, inuendo and outright.
As a resident of NYS (one of Hillary's constituants), I am backing Obama. We need an intelligent president with integrity and character who is truthful and who will attempt to clean up the mess Bush will leave behind.
No politician can accomplish anything unless he/she can lead and bring
the country together.

Take a look at the grieving relatives of the 70-year old woman killed in her living room by a stray bullet (in today's edition) and think about that story for a while. It sure stopped the circus for me and brought me right down to earth.

Bill Clinton had attended Wright's church in 1998 or 1999, exchanged greetings and shaken hands with him.

Campaigns of ideas have been replaced by "gotcha" politics: endless loops of Obama in a turban, his pastor rousing Sunday congregants with wacky rhetoric, talk-radio-heads slowly enunciating Barack Hussein Obama, and Hillary Clinton's studied hesitancy on 60 Minutes about whether Obama is a Muslim. We have the "race card," "the indignation card," "the religious card," and the "gender card." Kennedy and Reagan must be rolling over in their graves - they thought enough about Americans to talk about ideas.

For decades, the politics of identity, indignation and inertia has substituted theatrics and machination for deliberation and decision, and the younger you are, the more you will be burdened with bills not paid and decisions deferred. Yet, no American under 50 has ever entered a presidential voting booth without a Bush or Clinton as a presidential or vice presidential choice. I shudder at the thought of extending that to 36 years.

Abraham Lincoln served two years in Congress more than a decade before his inauguration. Most of his political career was as an Illinois legislator. In two tries for the Senate, he withdrew once, lost the second time. Yet he became our greatest president by rallying the country around foundation principles while deftly managing fractious politics.

I am registering Democratic to cast my vote for another ex-Illinois legislator with a relatively short time in Washington who offers a unifying vision, cross-generational appeal, a proven deft touch, and an ability to lead this country through tough times to the better place it needs to be.

Barack Obama.

Kim : Obviously you don't know what your talking about , the black folks got sypillis the old fashion way, they earned it. They were denied anti-biotics on a double blind study, adminstered by black doctors and black nurses, just a little different than what you state.

The MSM keeps perpetuating this myth that the race is "tied." The race for the DEM nomination is not "tied." It is OVER. HRC CANNOT catch BO in delegates or in popular vote. Public opinion polls mean nothing. Not "tied," OVER.

Put the racial division where it belongs along with anything else that the Clinton's have used to divide the Dem. party. Rac, sex, body size, age, etc... will always be an issue in our society because you will always have people who discriminate in our society. The people who are still hung up on the clips from the sermon, are projecting their own racitst attitudes on Obama. They don't want to hear the whole sermon because then they won't have a reason to express hatred. Pastor Wright's sermon was just a door opener for them to express their own hatred. Hillary didn't need the Obama campaign to smear her character. She is doing it to herself with her lies and tactics. And some of you people are like zoombies. You get hung up on 1 word, like "judgement" or "experience" and leave out compassion, honesty, dedication, commitment, balance, truth, love, etc...You Hillary supporters are hippocrits just like your candidate. You're also whiners.

The Wright flap is over for one very simple reason - the Republicans CANNOT distance themselves from their own religious leaders that spew the same kind of rhetoric. Now that it has been proven that Hillary cannot tell the differnce between sniper fire and the poems of 8 year old Bosnian girls, her time is running out. Get ready for the Obama - McCain race.

Obama's lead from before also "evaporated"

It is amazing how quickly obama's transgressions disappear from the news. Wright may be gone, but he is not forgotten. He will rear his racist head again come November if obama is chosen as the democratic candidate. People need to keep this in mind. They are still talking about Bill's transgression and that happened years ago. So, if you think this is over, it is not. He is still attending the church of HATE and RACISM.

If Obama wins this nomination it will be a sure bet that McCain will win the GE in November. If he story of Rev Wright has faded in voters minds for now, it will be back in full view for the GE - there is no way that Fox News and the Republicans are going to give a potential President a free pass on the anti-American remarks made by his pastor for the last 20 years. It is just not credible. I dread to think what else is out there on this unvetted Senator, who despite his rhetoric has shown nothing but bad judgment which will come back to bite him just when he doesn't want it to. These polls just show that people have a short memory - when the clips of Rev Wright are aired in november, Obama is toast.

What? put this behind him? get real, Hillary Clinton will win this thing and you are running scared, admit it. Obamma won a bunch of states that he doesn't have a prayer of winning in November and you all know it. Sure, he has the little over a 100 delegate lead, but it is a phony lead when you remove the can't win states and the amount of numbers that voted for him in the caucuses, which played very well to his demographics, the young and able. Those things will be weighed by the super delegates, plus the fact that Hillary will more than likely have the popular vote advantage by the end of this race. Yeah, in spite of Obama's fine speech at the DNC four years ago, Red states and blue states do matter. Also why do you people keep wanting to kick the Clinton's under the bus, YOU KNOW THAT THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TRYING TO HELP YOU. Childrens health care is one good example, Head Start is another, Opening doors for college education. Hell, many of you don't even really know why you are voting for Obama. Many of his voters have never been faced with issues of mortgages, raising children, bread and butter issues. Nothing wrong in that, and bringing them to the table is alright, it just does not give a real true picture of electability, nor does the fact that over 75 percent of the AA people are voting for him. Hell, why don't you admit it, many of you did not think he was black enough and you know it. I watched with interest the black gathering recently, you know the one that Hillary Clinton, the only one of the candidates that showed up, and listened while that overtly racist
black panther commedian Dick Gregory Obama supporter tried to insite the crowd with his crazy words about Hillary and Bill Clinton. He was the one who told the crowd that you all didn't want Obama because he wasn't black enough. I came away from that forum thinking that many of the speakers were very intelligent and spoke with great oratory. There were presidents of University's, Woman who were outstanding leaders, but in the end, this proactive comedian from the 70's was allowed to go on and on until I know in my heart of hearts that he embarrassed just about everyone but the most radical people there. Hillary received a token acceptance (rude). You see, when we see these events and the attempt to incite with strong words from a has been comedian, and the total idea that somehow, because Hillary is virtually tied with your candidate (and they are) You keep wanting to disenfranchise voters who have not even had the chance for their voices to be heard yet to quit and have Hillary give the nomination to Obama. (Ridiculous) and that plays also to electibility. I can tell you right now, that you people are the ones pulling the race card on the Clintons. Nobody owes you anything, take responsibility for you own actions and quit trying to hijack an election from the Clintons

It's interesting to watch those who would destroy Senator Obama simultaneously claim that black anger and resentment are not real (let alone justified) and that we should be profoundly scared of electing a black man president because he'll pursue some hate-filled, radical black agenda.
You're just trying to scare us with something you claim doesn't exist.
Everyone, take a breath, have some warm milk, maybe take your anti-anxiety medication. Calm down.

Obama is 50% white 50% black. if he gets nominated he will be the first half black nominee. I find it funny that the 50% white is mainly ignored by the media, "white america" and even the black community.

And Really what the democrats don't notice is that if Hilary dont win the nomination Bill straight out endorsed McCain.

NO sorry the pastor remarks have not been erased. Maybe if the media actually did their job and investigated Obama they would see how corrupt this man actually is. He is a sexist bigot who supports fanatical terrorists and allows his "pastor"(using that phrase lightly) to spew disgusting vile about America and the men and women who sacrifice daily to keep us safe. No this will not be swept under the rug!!!America will not let it!!!! why don't you investigate where all his money is coming from...afraid of what you might find???? Yeah me too!!! But I still want to find out!!!

Erased? I don't think so. If Obama gets the nomination (I don't think he will after he loses big in PA and the other upcoming states) he will lose the GE because the Republicans will eat this up. I can't stand to hear these sermons playing over and over again in ads.

Let me explain something to you folks and let me be perfectly clear, Mr. Wright (Obama's mentor) has not gone from the headlines; this is just beginning. And there are going to be some of you folks who don't like what I say and may not print this in an attempt to hush the silent neglected majority. But I want to be perfectly honest.

Nearly eveyone here is mssing the point in my opinion. Obama joined the church to pick up the black vote and support and got caught re-handed in his duplicity! He is saying one thing and doing another. Has this "controversy" blown over? Not a chance - just wait and see how it plays out if he actually is lucky enough to pick up the nomination.

Hate and racism can never be erased. I know that white liberals want to erase the reality that Obama is steeped in Wright's spirituality of narcissim so that they can try to elect BO and forever erase their white guilt about slavery. Truth is they are putting way too much on Obama. He has not proven to have the experience or character to land the highest office in the land. In time, he may. But for now, America must be wary of him for his 20-year association with Wright compels us to see that he has poor judgment.

If Hillary Clinton had been in cahoots for 20 years with someone who spewed so much hate, anti-Americanism and anti-Semitism, she'd be tarred and feathered by now. Obama's allegiance to this nation is very questionable. While I admire his American success story, he's not American enough for me. When it's convenient for him he appeals to whites but then disses his own white grandmother to appeal to blacks. When it comes time to face questions regarding issues, he just gives a speech and runs away like a coward. Can we trust someone like that?

Barack is not Wright for this country. He cannot win in November which is why all you Republican trolls are pushing for him to win the Dem nomination.
Obama, do the Wright thing and step down. You cannot win in November.
The Wright flap is a permanent tear in the fabric of your carefully constructed faux quilt.
RESIGN NOW OBAMA! for the sake of the party, for the sake of the country. For the sake of all our children. Jeez, resign already!

Once the democratic nominee is decided, we will see the second place candidate, Obama or Clinton, support that nominee fully and enthusiastically.
We all need to do the same.
Do you want the war to end? Do you want the current policies out of Washington to change? The only way things don't change is if supporters of one of the democratic candidates refuses to vote for the other democrat in the general election.
How could you in good conscience vote for McCain and the war, or withhold your vote and give away your choice, if you profess to backing either Clinton's or Obama's position? If you are serious about change, either of these candidates easily trumps McCain.
Please, let's not cut off our nose to spite our face.

Funny how many of you think that the only reason African-Americans are voting for Obama is race. How many who are supporting Hillary are doing so just because she is a woman? How many are supporting McCain because he is a veteran or white male?
And who of you has voted for someone because of their purported religious beliefs?
Obama, no matter his racial makeup, is the future. The others are the past. My children and grandchildren deserve better than the ugly politics of hate and divisiveness we have now. I would think yours do, too.
The Republicans would like nothing better than to see Hillary as the candidate in the general election. They feel they can beat her and with all her 'history' and Bill's help, they will.

Kat:

I will not believe or accept for one second that Obama is the "future". I will never accept a candidate who has a 20 year association and was married by and chose to baptize his children by a man who uttered the words "GD America!" or even HINT that we are to blame for 911.

OBAMA DOES NOT DESERVE THE PRESIDENCY. Talk about JUDGMENT??? You must be joking. I am a lifelong Democrat and I will vote for McCain before Obama.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER OBAMA --HE SHOULD STEP DOWN NOW -OBAMA IS A DISGRACE.

To all you who want so desperately to charactize the Wright issue in a way that would require Obama to step aside, it's time to come back to reality. You're out of touch with the majority of Americans, who polls now show, don't give much credence to this issue.

The extreme statements like "DOES NOT DESERVE THE PRESEDENCY", "cannot win ... permanent tear", "Obama's allegiance to this nation is very questionable", etc. have one big problem. If any of these were true, then Obama would be out. The polls show that people just don't give the Wright affair this kind of significance.

I detest Wright. I think his assumptions about America are wrong. I wouldn't go to his church. Fortunately, he isn't running for president. I intend to vote based on what I think the candidate will do when in office.

If you're a blue-collar white, you are voting against your own interests if you vote for McCain. He calls himself a "conservative", and he backs all of the Bush measures that have been anti-worker: limiting rights to unionize, limiting who can be eligible for overtime pay, limiting the ability to absolve debt in bankruptcy. Your cost of healthcare has gone up -- McCain would do nothing. The cost of fuel has doubled -- McCain would give more tax breaks to oil companies. McCains real backers (Bush's ultrarich base) would please if you only think about Wright. Do you regret having voted for Bush? You'll experience the same feeling if you vote for McCain.

ERASED??? Wait till the swift boaters get hold of him. Bye,Bye BO.

What a crock. If anyone believes the Revolting Wright issue is going away, dream on... You do not support the sacrifice made by the men and women who have given all for this country by damning it. Words matter, and so far we have lots of these good and bad, and little action to go on to weigh the measure of the Senator from Illinois. Please, someone tell me, where are the electoral votes are for winning this election? MI and Florida will most likely go Republican and while the whole state of California and Illinois might vote democratic, the popular vote can be won and the election lost, remember 2000.

If you are truly an informed American stay away from Fox and their idiocy and learn to gain your own knowledge based on facts and not overemphasized fabricated stories created by networks that thinks you are too stupid to ascertain otherwise.

church. He is part of the church. It is a reqierment for church membrs to read James Cone's books.James cone is Obama's mentor's mentor.Did Obama and his wife and children read Cone's books?
Excerpt;
Obama’s mentor’s mentor;
James Cone maintains;
Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community … Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love. [1]

I am for Obama, but I think He has to explain him self more on his stands on those views of his pastor. The reason being that as a private person it might not matter a lot, but as a president holding such views is a big deal. You should let the people trust you even if you need going a second mile to make it clear.
Am black but I dont see that as a black theology, I rather see it as a divisive and distortive message. What a lot of reasonable people are looking for is, if Obama is
in any way holding to such grounds.Another important point is to look at the whole message and works of Mr. Wright before we draw a sharp condemnation. In my opinion, those were messges given at valey low points in life, when every one was hurting. Seeing American from the eyes of the opperessed might be helpfull if we want to reflect on the whys, hows and so ons of this view of America. People who never soffered racism, discrimination, segregation, denial, never been called names or rejected on the ground of their color and history, will never develope enough sense to understand Mr. Wright. His method may not appeal to those, but he is like the only voice that can speak for the opperessed. Americans are all over the world, get visas easily when ever they want, live where ever they want to on this planet
, but others dont have this privilage. those policies that privilage and protect Americans but dont give same privilage to others generate only hostility and the worst is that when ever a voice speaks against such double standards, the privilaged will not have enough sense to relate to realities. If America and Britain should not be termed racist who in the world should be? ( not in general but in historic and somewhat present terms) If those who tell America the truth (no mater their styles) should be stopped, why do America try to teach the world democracy?
Changing your mind on Wright's message, disqualifies any one from having the right to vote in any alection. You cant handle the misdeeds of humanity.
The next point is am quit convinced that if Obama does
not go through such fires before becoming the president, he sure will make big mistakes, (the guy is so nice but is showing some strenght) thats why its true that if you can run a successful campaign, you can handle the challenges of the presidency. None of his private or public life experiences will do more than prepare him for the job than his Campaign xperiences.
Obama campaigne is doing well because of a number of reasons. His character, messsages, his history, doesnt seem to have made a lot of mistakes in his past, Hillary Clinton looked to be unbeatable, but in politics you have to keep your records clean and thats what the Clintons did not do. Defending the past and making present mistakes is not a strategy to win with. Its not evil to have a life time goal, but not knowing how to get there posts real questions on your ability to deliver if you ever reach your goal. Every honest person that has followed this fight for power knows that Hillary hast been draging the whole thing in the mod. People looking for power are always obsessed but leaders show character. For instance, as Obama so far has. He seems to be looking for Mandate and not power. The whole idea of being ready from day 1, being able to answer that 3 am call all alone without needing any consultation is just crude to believe, we do know thats not the way things run in government, and people do question this position.
If the people and the people of America in this case want to come behind you, willingly, thats powerful and its a chance to cease becaus you dont always see that happening twice in a life time. I kknow many people will legitmately want it the other way round, I know some will feel insulted to have a black man as the president of the US of A, but I would like to say that a man is a man, whether black or white. If he tends to have in him what it takes to put this nation in the right direction, we just have to give him the chance because that will be to the benefit of all.
God bles America

Kim -Tuagagee first of all spelled wrong her are the facts 1895 Booker T. outlines dream gets support from Rosenwald then sears and roebuck president. 1900 Tuskegg educational experiment gaines widespread support. 1915 Booker T dies and his replacement is Robert Motin. 1926 health is seen as inhibiting development- major health ventures are formed syphilis is seen as a major health problem among the Black community is refered to as "bad blood." Is said to be in 35% of those of reproductive age. 1929 Aggressive treatments started using mercury and bismuth with toxic and even fatal results 1929 Wall Street crashes. 1931 two years after crash, Rosenwald cut his funding. Clark and Vondelehr decide to follow the untreated men due to lack of funds to show need for the program. 1932 follw effort organized, 399 men with syphilis and 201 w\out Robert Motin(* Booker T.s replacement) Agrees to support study. Black professional are brought in, Dr. Dibble and Nurse Rivers. 1962 Beginning in 1947, 127 Black medical students go through Tuskegee during the study. 1968 concerns are brought forth by Peter Buxtun. 1969 CDC, AMA, NMA reaffirm need of study. 1972 FIRST news article is written concerning the study. 1972 study ends 1973 class action suits filed 10 million dollar settlement many health care centers started, regulatory departments founded, lifetime medical, burial services for survivng participants, extended to include their wives and offspring. In the end 28 men died from syphilis and 100 from complications from drugs and syphilis. source: US Public Health Service Syphilis Study@ Tuskegg. They were not given syphilis they already had it. All of this happened under the supervision of Robert Motin, Dr, Dibble and NurseRivers along with 127 Black Interns, all of which believed in what was happening or they would have turned it into the officals. Yet, whitie is to blame for everything (this is not neccessarily for you but previous comments), but Black history is full of Black against Black. Opposing African Tribes selling each other off into slavery, since slavery was abolished thousands of Black Americans have been killed by other Black people, fathers abondoning their wives and children, leaving them to fend for themselves, joining gangs. We ALL have horrible deeds done in our past, no matter what color our skin, Chech, Jews, Pols and American Indians. Yet, we have choosen to persevere, leave the past behind and move forward and take responsibilty for where our own choices have taken us today. You will see poor whites, Mexicans Orientals working @McDonalds, working in the Orchards, On vegetable farms, but rarely will you see Black people. Alot of the Black community want to hold on to the mentality that whitie owes them something and they will stay on welfare, deal drugs join gangs and end up in prison. Stop using history as an excuse to stay "slaves" to the white man and start using it like the rest of us( our own history) to better ourselves. America is the land of oppurtunity, not the land of blame it on someone else. As for it being President Bush or any elected officals fault that the economy is the way it is...shut up and grow up! The blame lies with everyone who over spends, over indulges and lives beyond their means! Call me a racist, Republican, femicrat, far right...whatever, I really do not care! In this great country we live in you have the right because of our soldiers who fought for us! While on the subject, stop twisting Gods words, from the pulpit
, injecting your own fellings into his! Jesus did not come to bring peace but war( Matthew). Gods feelings on war...he told the Israel army to go into a certain country and kill and destroy everything, man, woman child and animals. So all you antiwar warriors, be proud of the choices that your sons and daughters have made to serve the GREATEST NATION ON EARTH even to death, because their reward in Heaven is far greater than yours will ever be on earth! DO NOT VOTE OBAMA!!
