Clinton: MoveOn tough Obama ally

Geez, Hill. You're going to need Move-On if you get the nomination. Not a very good move to dis' em. Why not just sign on as McCain's running mate right now?

The thing that gets me is the whining and the lying by the Clintons. MoveOn is great -- until it doesn't endorse her, then it consists of thugs and foreign policy loonies. The Clinton campaign's Wolfson goes on about intimidation in Nevada and Texas, conveniently omitting to mention that the Clinton campaign was the one doing the intimidating.

It puts the 1990s in a whole different perspective, doesn't it.

And talk about the ingratitude. MoveOn was originally formed in order to get her perjuring lech of a husband censured rather than impeached. But maybe I'm wrong about ingratitude. Maybe impeachment let the Clintons play the victim card they so love, and censure would have left them in the doghouse where they belong.

Moveon.org, a supposedly democratic organization, allows for absolutely no dissenting opinions on its website. Every invitation to participate is pro-Obama. They have a video of the recent debate and an invitation to send a petition to ABC: "Sign the Petition -Debate moderators abuse the public trust every time they ask trivial questions about gaffes and 'gotchas' that only political insiders care about. Enough with the distractions--ABC and other networks must focus on issues that affect people's daily lives."

This presumes that everyone who ever joined MoveOn, or supported MoveOn, is pro-Obama.

I guess MoveOn is now counting on big money contributors, like Oprah Winfrey and Jay-Z, because many of their small contributors now feel not only that MoveOn no longer represents them, but that MoveOn no longer represents democracy.

I am a print journalist with 24 years experience in reporting Texas politics, admittedly more rural politics. Wolfson's comments are off-base. The Clinton campaign began attacking the process almost before it began. If they had put as much energy into explaining positions and getting to know Texans, she might have won the primary. In Texas, winning the popular vote, which she did, is not the same thing as winning the primary and at this point, she has lost Texas.
At the precinct caucuses in March, both Clinton and Obama supporters claimed the other side had manipulated the extraordinarily complicated "prima-cacus" or Texas two-step (really a four step with one still to go.) However, the Texas Democratic Party primary system has been the same since 1988. The party, the campaigns and the media published extensive explanations before the primary to educate the public about the do-it-yourself nature of the precinct comventions (caucuses.) The problem came with an unbelievably large turnout. And no one could have predicted that Texas even would have a voice in the election when the convention (caucus) sites were selected and certified.
At the county convention, the only people who seemed to be trying to create dissension rather than solve problems associated with massive success, was the paid Clinton campaign worker who was not from Texas. She kept calling foul on delegates, some of whom were not legitimate, but they were dealt with by the credentials committee, a process already in place.
And throughout the day, she continued to shuttle back and forth among the precinct caucuses meeting to elect state delegates and me, giving me little digs against Obama and his campaign, all "off the record, but ... and I'm not suppose to say anything, but ... and please don't print this but, this is not working I know there are more people who shouldn't be here, I just can't find them. "
The system in Texas was created by the long-time party workers, many of whom are Clinton supporters.

MoveOn members voted to support Obama. The vote was conducted when Edwards was still in the race. It seemed to be a process with integrity, with members signing in and allowed to vote only once. It could have been manipulated, as any vote can, but it seemed pretty much up and up.
Members were asked to vote and then they conducted random call backs to ensure that the phone numbers and addresses matched and did not show double votes.
I think it's the most Democratic organization I've ever witnessed. It's drawn fire for all kinds of things, like posting an ad likening Bush to Hitler. The ad was one of hundreds MoveOn members viewed and voted on to decide which to pay to put on the air. It was never endorsed by the membership.
And on the other side, there are some big financial hitters in MoveOn as well as the rank and file.

I really am laughing out loud at just how inane the Democratic Party has become. As a Catholic AND prolife, there was no way for me to vote for John "HorseFace" Kerry. George Soros scares me a lot more than W.

What I'm hoping for is the continued self destruction of the current Democratic Party and find a different one running by 2016. Or earlier. One without Hungarian born money backing it, I might add!

Obama and the Country of Doom

Obama spells doom for this country. Not only because of his dubious affiliations with mob members like Rezko and criminals like Auchi, but because of his lack of experience and bias education especially his bizarre religious affiliations. He is like silly putty; able to change his ideas for the public as needed so as to achieve his goal as supreme leader.

His intentions are unclear, but his affiliations are clear. Being surrounded with people like the violent Ayers, or the Hiteresque Wright, or his American hating wife Michelle, or his Kenyan half brother Islamic Jihad terrorist Abongo “Roy” Obama, or his Jewish/Israeli hating best friend Rashid Khalidi, or his close advisor Robert Malley who advocates supporting and helping the terrorist group Hamas, or Mr. McPeaks, Obama’s military advisor who open believes American Jews are the "problem." and “Christian Zionists were driving America's policy in Iraq to benefit Israel,” or Obama’s super delegate and major long term supporter Senator Meeks who openly hates and distrust all whites and gays or Obama’s most dangerous affiliation to Mr. Auchi who was Saddam Hussein right hand man and made billions in Iraq and has been a important supporter and behind the scene man throughout Obama’s rise to power.

And besides all this questionable laundry in Obama’s life, another serious question is why is Obama protected and promoted by the media? Is this also being directed from behind the scenes? The American public has been fooled before and I guess those in power know we can be fooled again. (Kennedy’s assassination, Martin Luther King’s assassination, the invasion of Iraq…).

The fact that Obama has made it this far demonstrates the collective lack of discriminative intelligence and education of this country. And nothing demonstrates this better than how well Obama plays his black card; which plays on our fear of being labeled a racist.

JFK would be a Republican by today's standards. He wouldn't even want to be part of the demorats today. He must hate Teddy and his views.

MoveOn is a left-wing anti-American organization. Any wonder that they have endorsed Obama and his ranting pastor?

I dropped out of Move-On, I used to believe in them, then changed my mind. Does that make me a flip flopper? No! It was in response to them sending out an email one days, canvassing members as to which candidate they support, and two days later, announced they were supporting Obama, and uploaded 7.6 million to him in one day to slam Hillary in Wisconsin. I thought they should have remained neutral, and the is gave Obama a HUGE and SUDDEN SEVEN POONT SIX MILLION DOLLARS... Move-on is losing support over this, and probably don't care, because they're picking up college students.

However, in the long-run it will hurt, and their response in this situation was not neutral to Democrats and now they're like part of Obama's campaign. So Awhat? Is Hillary supposed to gush over a fundraising arm of Obama's campaign that makes him look grass roots while using another organization with a huge membership to collect funds? Obama plays so many games to look grass roots.

Did you know he voted for the Bush/Chene Energy bill that Hillary did not. Did you hear him praising Reagan and Bush Sr, at the debate? Did you know that he backed Joe Lieberman over Ted Lammont and went to CT to campaign for him. Move-on suppported Lammont, but like so many Obama supporters he claims to be who they want him to be, and hides many things from them.

Hillary seems to believe her own hype. She's gotten comfortable with her so-called base demographic: The undereducated and blue collar hard working people who "presumably" do not remember what she's said in the past, and too ignorant or too busy to research and read about her activities and her remarks.

She is clearly irresponsible and "DIRTY." I'm afraid if she's elected into the Whitehouse this fall, our country will have to endure four more years of a Bush-like regime.

There has been so much opinion and so little truth driving this whole campaign. As a MoveOn member I just want to chime in with the facts on this issue. ---- MoveOn was formed to encourage Congress to censure Bill Clinton for his perjury and then "move on" so as to avoid dragging the whole country through an impeachment process. They started with a small petition, were surprised to learn how many other ppl felt the same way but weren't being heard and then formed an organization. If Hillary had won, it would have been her. --- As someone else noted, though, when she starts slamming the org now it doesn't seem too clever. What if she actually wins the nomination? She'll want and need our support then. Who's to say MoveOn members would be willing to give it then?

Hillarious Clinton is now attacking Democratic activists for stealing the caucuses from her? Maybe she should ask Mark Penn what she will gain by alienating active, involved Democratic voters who favored Obama? With strategy like this, it's easy to see how Hillary turned a large lead in the national polls into a position where she has virtually no chance of winning the nomination.

MoveOn.org and freepress organizers need to re-read Todd Gitlin's book "The Twilight of Common Dreams: Marching on the English Department while the right took the White House.

I think Hillary Clinton see’s a beautiful world of plenty for all. She’s a woman, and a mother. And it’s time America. Do this for your-selves, and your children’s future. As much as 30% of Obama's primary, and caucus votes are Republicans trying to choose the weakest democratic candidate for McCain to run against. These Republicans have been gaming the caucuses where it is easier to vote cheat. This is why Obama has not been able to win the BIG! states primaries. Even with Republican vote cheating help.

Hillary Clinton has been OUT MANNED! OUT GUNNED! and OUT SPENT! 4 and 5 to 1. Yet Obama has only been able to manage a very tenuous, and questionable tie with Hillary Clinton.

If Obama is the democratic nominee for the national election in November he will be slaughtered. Because the Republican vote cheating help will suddenly evaporate. I subscribed to moveon.com The process for voting for endorsement was just a couple of days, if that, very short and controversial because many members didn't even get a chance to receive the email before the polling closed. Moreover, Moveon.org was supposedly not focussed on endorsments. I dropped out of moveon.org when they conducted this poll for endorsement. I think moveon.org is very unethical and something new needs to arise to take the place it was supposed to fill.

The problem with Clinton's tactics is that they have steadily alienated committed Democratic Party constituencies from her. That's never a smart policy.

To put it plainly, the person who wins is the person who can get enough people together on their side to push things over the top. Hillary not only has failed to do that, but she's amputated important supporters from her with her no-holds barred campaigning.

Get over yourself. Those of us who defend both the 2nd AND 4th Amendments are always aware of what is going on politically. It's an ongoing process. We don't, as you say, "love guns". We love this country, and the freedom that makes it a great place.The Democrats are still fighting the Heller case (Washington DC) in the Supreme Court. Mayor Daley is still defending his homeowners handgun ban in chicago. The Democrats in charge of the Illinois Assembly have an enormous bill pending which would severely restrict gun rights. And finally, Hillary herself is trying hard to renew the expired so-called Assault Weapons ban, which was an exaggerated lie to begin with, which is why it eventually failed. As far as your pal Slick Willy and his comment about "it's not about character it's about the economy stupid", as far as I'm concerned most of the problems with our economy have been CAUSED by a lack of character. And no, John McCain will NOT be 4 more years of Bush. John McCain is his own man, and probably has more character and experience than most of the politicians in Washinton DC put together.

For those who left MoveOn, you have all the right to do so. It's an independent organization with its own agenda, which may not happen to be yours at the time.

Far lefties like those at moveon.org would turn on their own mothers if they thought it was politically correct to do so. Hillary found this out the hard way. If Obama gets elected and figures out the reality that there is no easy was out of Iraq, he will find out pretty quickly too.

Geez, why do these "conversations" always seem to get so out of control? No wonder the campaigning coverage so far has been such an exercise in vapidity: People like it that way.

I don't care which candidate you are for, but if you can't state your opinion without insulting someone else or flinging out wild tidbits of hearsay and pure fabrication, well, you should know that you're not promoting the cause of your candidate. At all.

I love how the members of groups like MoveOn and Dailykos are described by some here as hard left or far left. Didn't that used to refer to members of the Communist Party?

And the idea that these 3.2 million people all agree on Iraq or Afghanistan or Clinton or Obama is ludicrous as well, as demonstrated by a couple of the posts above.
