The Swamp

by James Oliphant

The smart people at Slate have done Hillary Clinton a favor and fashioned a new attack ad for her to use in Pennsylvania, playing off the endorsement of Barack Obama earlier this week by Bruce Springsteen.

Too funny. And you know that's how a Republican, or a Clinton, would go after Bruce if he were a politician.

"Clinton's Faux-Springstteen Attack Ad"

Everything about Clinton is "Faux".
Clinton is a Republican wannabe, Faux Democrat.

Is this a put-on?

Quite a number of Springsteen's most excellent songs do have a somewhat dark view of the landscape that is America. Art has its natural advantages, which is why I generally try to keep it out of the Real World box.

Hillary apparently has some clever folk on her team though, in deflecting Springsteen's pessimism back at the great Obama. Don't worry about it non-Springsteen fans.

Springsteen made $55 million in 2006, according to Forbes magazine.

As a multi-millionaire pretending to be a common man, he's the perfect person to be endorsing Senator Obama.

Hillary Clinton, Celine Dion and whoever these stupid citizens are, are so STUPID. This ad is so NOTHING, so OLD Springstein, look at how young he was. Step into THIS generation, Clinton and Clinton folk. Give me a break! Can't the Clinton's do better than this? Obama '08!!!!

Stop the insane and inane, already. This is "smart"? Whatever. It's part of what has become a Clinton based fantasy and phenomenon that has infected many people who are addicted to the gossip, half-truths and negative attacks she's brought to the campaign process. This would better fit a Jerry Springer spin cycle.

the fact that 5 of the first 7 commenters don't realize this commercial is a joke/parody is pretty frightening, and explains why the petty manufactured political controversies aren't going anywhere in the near future.

depressing. get a clue, idiots.

Are Americans so basic you guys that you have to have tear down politics to be elected. No wonder you guys are less respected politically in the world and even by your own people.
The more educated do not bring up the lesser but try to keep them confined through ignorance.

To bring up such basic crap about associations real or imagined goes to your fabric no wonder your kids rank below other countries in Reading math and science.

Time you people get with the 21st century. Russi'a leader is 43,Canada's is 48 and so what's wrong with a young guy running .
Get a grip you people the world is leaving you guys behind while you wholler in political mud
