The Chicago Cubs, playing their first away games of the young baseball season in Pennsylvania, are getting a taste of the intense Democratic presidential campaigning going on in the Keystone State, which holds its primary less than two weeks from now.
Cory Provus, a member of Chicago radio station WGN’s vaunted Cubs’ broadcast team, relates the story of a team get-together to watch the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship game in Pittsburgh on Monday night.
During the frequent commercial breaks in the battle between Kansas and Memphis, Provus reports there were plenty of back-and-forth ads broadcast by Sens. Barack Obama of Illinois and Hillary Clinton of New York.
From the Provus dispatch from Pittsburgh: “The funniest thing was that every time an Obama spot came on, many of the players would scream, “Marmol! Marmol!”--which prompted plenty of laughter.
Compare the pictures of Cubs reliever Carlos Marmol and Obama and see for yourself:

All I know is both of them belong to a community the Republican Party treats as second class citizens.
