“When I lose sleep at night, it is not because I worry about what is going to happen in Pennsylvania or Indiana,’’ Sen. Barack Obama says. “When I lose sleep at night, it is because I think about being president and all the challenges that we have to face out there.’’

Obama, in an interview aired by NBC News’ Today Show this morning, reiterated his view that Sen. Hillary Clinton has every right to pursue a presidential nomination contest in which she appears unable to claim the majority of the party’s pledged delegates.

“I very much respect Sen. Clinton’s supporters for their passion and their enthusiasm,’’ Obama told NBC’s Ann Curry, who asked if he is just being “gracious’’ in saying Clinton has every right to keep running. “I am stating what I think is central to our democratic tradition, which is everybody has a right to run,’’ Obama said. “We won 11 contests in a row, and that didn’t knock her out. And that’s some tenacity on her part.

“As long as she’s in, I don’t take anything for granted.’’

Asked if he prays daily, Obama said: “Sometimes twice a day – depends on the day.’’

He declined to talk about any possible ticket with Clinton: “I think it is very premature for either of us to talk about vice presidential nominees, because right now we’re both in the thick of a battle to win the nomination.’’

Asked about his own personal preferences:

Beatles or Rolling Stones – “Rolling Stones.’’

Coffee or tea -- tea.

Basketball or bowling?

“Not bowling,’’ said the candidate who bowled a 37 in a campaign demonstration in the lanes the other day. “You saw those gutter balls. That only shows that I’m willing to try new things…''

Asked if he was trying to lose:

"I never try to lose.’’

Curry asks questions, like favorite sport or color - the source of anecdotal debate. This is a well done interview and I respect both Curry and Obama..............

Obama worries about being President what he would do.
I think all of America is concerned if Obama became President.
Truman had Tamamny Hall. Obama got the only political machine in America capable of voting dead people. The Democrat Party in Cook County is corrupt and it's infecting the whole state and not for the better. The legislature is in gridlock and people dream about capital programs. Heck, we be lucky to just to pay the the state's trade debts.
The idea of this 10 year state senator who makes religious type speeches and postures just like the law instructor he once waas.
I believe this man and Dickie Durbin his mentor along with Jeremiah Wright and Tony Rezko have serious delusions of grandeur.
He's got a lot of baggage that will definitely be vetted before November with or without the cooperation of the driveby media. Jerry White, Springfield, IL

Jerry White (Springfield?)-

As residents of Illinois, I think we can both agree that the state political machine is a mess, from "ol boy" Daley to ding-dong Blago, from prisoner #456543 Ryan to Republican candidate/nut case Keyes, we must not look too impressive to the rest of the states.

But when I look at what 'your boy' Bush has done in eight years, I am not 'concerned' about Obama being president, I am 'concerned' that whoever is elected will even be able to restore to dignity of this proud country.
McCain has a hot temper and is just plain old. Cant change that.
Clinton is status quo politics, partisan hatred and gridlock. Cant change that.
Obama's main knock (besides his middle name, eh Paulo?) is his inexperience. This can be 'changed'. Whats the first thing a wise president does when elected? Selects the wisest, most experienced, non-partisan, for the good of the country Cabinet they can. Look at the yes-men Chen-er, I mean Bush selected. No president makes a decision alone or uniformed, they rely on a collection of minds and opinions (even, *gasp* opposing views!)to run this country, no president is an island. So the "lack of experience" just doesn't wash with me.

Wake up America.
We buy cheap Chinese goods at Wal-mart and complain that we dont have manufactoring jobs anymore. We gladly buy gas guzzler Hummers, fill it with expensive Iranian oil, and then complain that Iran is using that money to buy arms that end up killing American soldiers.
We claim religious freedom but fixate on the name Hussein.

America, still the only place I would EVER want to live or die for, but man we have some waking up to do and some serious changes to make...

Jerry,

Your criticisms of Sen. Obama contain no substance. Corruption in the election systems in Cook County has absolutely nothing to do with Barack Obama. Your charges should be directed instead to Cook County election officials.

What "baggage" does Barack have? You mention as if it something substantial, but then you give no examples.

You talk about his "religious type speeches", but I seriously wonder whether you have ever seen anything more than the sound bites on Fox News.

If you would like to really understand the candidate, please view his stated positions online at barackobama.com. Then, perhaps you will be able to voice an informed critique of his ideas.

She should have asked him about the Ad he is running in PA saying he doesn't take money from the Oil companies. He has in fact taken more than 200 thousand from the Oil Companies. He has done this in every state, lied about something that mattered to the people in that state. He plays dirty and then accuses everyone else of playing dirty.

Obama need not lose any sleep about being president. Not after offending pale-faced voters with his "Typical White Person" comment about his grandmother whom he tarred as being a racist for having a fear of black thugs. Let's see Obama walk a dark, lonely street 5 blocks from his home in southside Chicago to see if he can identify a bit more with "Typical White Persons" and Grandma.

These Fox-watching posters are hoping for a Hilary upset so they can push old-angry Mc-SAME into the whitehouse! And these are anti-americans in my opinion because they dont care about 90% of the country which has gone to hell and on tough times. They only care about their freaking taxes! Greedy, Rich, expletives.

When I lose sleep at night is if this Socialist Senator dupes enough voters in November to become President.
