By now, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell has learned to preface his comments about presidential politics with a caveat.
"I don't speak for the campaign," he said this morning -- before opining that he thinks a fantastic Democratic ticket would feature his candidate, Hillary Clinton, and rival Barack Obama running side by side.
"I think it would be a ticket that would guarantee the party would be united," Rendell said on CBS News' Face the Nation.
It certainly isn't the only time Rendell has adopted a different talking point than the Clinton campaign, which continues to say that it's just too early to talk about running mates. He has spoken his own mind several times this spring.
But Sen. Bob Casey was on-message with the Obama campaign, saying that talk of running mates right now is premature.
"We have a ways to go," he said, as he and Rendell debated the Pennsylvania primary on the morning show.
Both dismissed polls hinting that, the longer the Democratic primary drags on, the higher the Democrats' negative ratings climb -- suggesting a tougher race against Republican John McCain in the general election.
"The polls are all over the lot," Casey said. "They don't mean a thing right now in the general election."
Rendell agreed: "Don't worry about general election polls in April."
But Rendell and Casey, who once ran against each other for governor, disagreed on who is getting negative and who's playing it clean.
"There's got to be a level of consistency," Rendell said. "You can't have the candidate saying we've got to have a new politics," and then run what he contends are negative ads.
"You and I never did that," he told Casey.
But Casey thinks it's the Clinton camp who has gone negative.
During the past week, he said, "I couldn't believe some of the things that were said about Sen. Obama."

WHY IS THE MEDIA HIDING THE TRUTH ABOUT HILLARY'S SECRET RELIGION (CULT ?)
It was obvious as one would watch the 'coverage' of the war that all of the cable news networks were working for the Bush Regime. The ONLY place we as Americans could attempt to gather some truth was through C-Span, Huff, Democracy Now and a few other sites which would show all of the networks to be actually misleading America. Now, with as simple a tool as Google, Americans can find out information that the networks won't give. Hillary's secret religion (cult) known as 'The Family' is a D.C. based group of the richest folks in America who 'pray to Jesus for the elite to rule the world' . The fact that there has been absolutely no mention of her cult leads one to believe that the higher-ups at the networks (and other big corporations) are a part of 'The Family'.....and the plan to rule the world. I know.... it sounds far fetched. You can find a great list of links regarding 'The Family' at www.Blacks4Barack.org. Truthtellers like Huffington, The Nation, Mother Jones and others have all done recent stories about 'The Family'....but where's CNN, MSNBC, Fox or the gang. They all know that there's an internet rumbling going on right now about this cult. But....no mention. Do the research yourselves....check into 'The Family'....once you do....you'll see that it is not only scary....BUT IT MUST BE STOPPED !!!!!!!!!!!!!! LEARN/SHARE !!!!!

That would be the ticket to disaster, a Obama/ Clinton ticket. The dream ticket, I can envision, would be a Obama/ Dodd ticket! That would take us, Democrats, straight into our White House and give the Republicans, a much, needed rest!! Don't forget, while we are at, Democrats, to vote for our Democratic candidates for Congress. We want a clean sweep of two, of the three, branches, in order to restore America, in the eyes of her citizens and of the world, to her former greatness!!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE. NOW.

Despite the painful reality of pervasive poverty and homelessness across PA (and other states) still no word on these issues from candidates or media.
Instead we hear about flag pin-less lapels and bowling scores. It's no wonder that many of us shake our head at the disconnect between politicians, the media and reality....
