Here are a few Washington events of note for Tuesday, April 8.
The American ambassador in Iraq, Ryan Crocker, and the U.S. commander there, Gen. David Petreaus, are testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations and Armed Services committees about the state of the war.
Financial analyst Edwin S. Rubenstein is releasing a study on the costs to 15 government agencies for immigration.
Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are both speaking at the Communications Workers of America's annual legislative-political conference.
