Hoping to improve his odds in this month's Kentucky primary, Barack Obama is working tirelessly to get the endorsement of a certain Colonel John. The Colonel John who is favored to win the Kentucky Derby, that is.
Or so Obama says in the Top Ten list of "Surprising Facts About Barack Obama"
he taped today for broadcast tonight on CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman."
The full list, as released by the Obama campaign:
10. My first act as President will be to stop the fighting between Lauren and Heidi on "The Hills."
9. In the Illinois primary, I accidentally voted for Kucinich.
8. When I tell my kids to clean their room, I finish with, "I'm Barack Obama and I approved this message."
7. Throughout high school, I was consistently voted "Barackiest."
6. Earlier today I bowled a 39.
5. I have cancelled all my appearances the day the "Sex and the City" movie opens.
4. It's the birthplace of Fred Astaire. (Sorry, that's a surprising fact about Omaha)
3. We are tirelessly working to get the endorsement of Kentucky Derby favorite Colonel John.
2. This has nothing to do with the Top Ten, but what the heck is up with Paula Abdul?
1. I have not slept since October

top ten reasons hillary minions are wrong about "electability" being the only issue to consider
10) a review of newpaper documents and congressional archives has revealed there actually are other issues (see the civil rights movement and the loss of US manufacturing jobs)
9) courageous candidates are often great leaders even tough that does not always poll well (see Lincoln)
8) bill clinton was not considered electable by critics who had polling data to back up their case - but the truth turned out to be quite the opposite
7) so called electable candidates are not always good presidents (see bill clinton and w bush)
6) so called electable candidates can still lose (see Dewey)
5) panderers and influence peddlers ruin our democratic process even though the pandering and influence peddling makes candidates more electable (see congress)
4) pork barrel spending may improve electability but these spenders (like hillary) waste the money of the middle class and run up national debt even worse than it already is (note to the uninformed; there was only one budget surplus under bill clinton out of eight and that one did not decrease the national debt - FACT the national debt actually increased under bill clinton)
3) a historical review of the ethical principles of all civilized nations reveals that character actually does matter - see Nixon
2) HITLER was electable
1) if electability were the only issue, then all a candidate would have to do is undermine their opponent's electability (with the race card etc.) and then lie about your own (oh wait, that is already happening)
so to highlight;
these few words below ALL totally refute the concept that one should consider "electability" when choosing a nominee/candidate;
dewey v truman/lincoln v. douglas/kennedy v. nixon/ b. clinton v. GHW bush/ HITLER v. the guy he beat in a popular election
so shut up about "electability". That is for dweebs like george stephanopolous to overanalyze while others pay attention to real issues like potential effectiveness as a president rather than as a candidate

Change?
Obama tells us on the stump that he does not accept money from the oil "industry"... I guess that means checks drawn from the corporations. Because he certainly does accept money from individual senior executives of oil companies... is that the change the Obamabots are talking about?
Obama claims to not accept money from federally registered lobbyists... but he accepts money from these same lobbyists' business associates and spouses... and he accepts money from lobbyists who happen to not be registered. He accepts bundled checks. He uses lobbyists and other government relations professionals as advisers. Is that what the 'bots mean by "change?
Obama has had a 17-plus year personal financial relationship with an indicted political "fixer" and extortionist... so that's the "change", right?.
Or is change all that will be left in our pockets?
