In the state that Barack Obama calls his "tie-breaker,'' a new Indiana poll of likely Democratic voters shows Hillary Clinton gaining an edge heading into Tuesday's primary election.

"Hillary Clinton appears to have improved her electoral fortunes considerably,'' Michael Wolf and Andrew Downs report from the Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics at Indiana University and Purdue University-Fort Wayne, noting that Clinton has started peeling independent, swing voters from Obama.

Their newewst survey shows 52 percent of likely Democratic primary voters backing Clinton, 45 percent Obama. Their survey, conducted Monday through Wednesday, marks a turning of the tables from the last poll they conducted, April 14-16, when Obama had the backing of 50 percent, Clinton 45. The survey of 689 voters carries a possible margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 percent.

"The latest poll fell during the latest Reverend Wright controversy, with Barack Obama publicly separating himself from Wright on the second day of polling,'' the professors note. "Further, the poll was completed before Democratic superdelegates, Rep. Baron Hill and former Democratic National Committee Chairman Joe Andrew, endorsed Barack Obama. Consequently, the effect of all of these events is unclear.

"What is clear, however, is that Clinton has expanded her lead among strong Democratic identifiers and dramatically turned the tables on Obama with independent voters and those concerned about the worsening economy,'' they report.

"Obama's ability to attract independents paid off in earlier nomination contests, and our mid-April poll found that Obama was well ahead among this group,'' they say. "Clinton has now flipped these voters into her category with nearly the same advantage Obama held two weeks earlier with a lead among pure independents (56 percent Clinton to 38 percent Obama) Republican-leaning independents (54 percent Clinton to 46 percent Obama), and has drawn even with Democratic-leaning independents at 47 percent.)"

Great and I hope she wins. Maybe Illinois will keep its dirty politicians home now. Obama has been spewing rhetoric of change, honesty and hope to millions of young 'folks' all over the country during this extended nomination process. Each and every time he says he is 'new' because he is honest, eachand every time he says he does not 'take money from special interests or oil companies or lobbyists' he makes me cringe. He has lied to all of us from his first day..where are his legislative diaries from Illinois? I want to know how many times he met with Rezko, Auchi and the band of bad men to fund his campaign. What is the total he has returned so far? 1,000,000? 250,000 from Rezko, 169,000 from the Ayers 'folks', 172,000 from Levine, what about Sreehan and his old and corrupt law firm? A Million dollars?
When we will see his calendars?

The tide is turning for Hillary, she has all the momentum going for her now.

The looney JohnE's and bill r's will soon be switching sides for the second most liberal senator soon....we'll be laughing all the way till Nov.

Paulo

yes we all knew racism is still alive even though it is often closeted in the US so it is no surprise at all that hillary is still riding very high on the race card she played after SC and again before PENN - WAY TO PLAY THAT RACE CARD HILLARY - YOU GO GIRL

note to all future presidential contenders : always play the RACE card - it always works - whatever gets you elected is the mpst important thing

what a uniter hillary will be as president

wooofreakinhoo

The smuggness of Hillary to arrogantly proclaim that more voters are voting for her belies the fact that Republican crossover voters are voting for her (now that their nominee has already been decided, "Operation Chaos"), eventhough these same people absolutely hate Hillary. There is absolutely no dignity or honor with the Clintons, who are trying every angle to steal this nomination when they know full well the voice of the people has clearly come out against them. Why else would they still be garnering support from mostly the uneducated, generally the most gullible class of people, those most easily duped by the chicanery and pandering of the Clintons? I hope the Clintons go away soon. They have truly become a national disgrace, just like Bush Jr has.

Hope she kicks his tail. How can he think that "separating himself" from Wright is going to change the fact that he was with him for 20 years. He cannot say that Wright suddenly started spewing this anti-American hatred and racial bias out of the blue. The guy is a fake and unproven.

Obama is finished. He will never be President..He lost the race all by himself...If he can't choose associates as a layperson how can he choose associates in the White House??Get real..He can't. HRC will be our next President of the United States....

wooofreakenwoo, can you please point out exactly when and what was said that would indicate that Hillary played the race card? I have been watching every day since the beginning of the primaries and cannot recall anything that I saw in print or heard on the different news stations. Please I would be most interested to see what you base this comment on. If you can!!

Nomas, you wish this were true. The truth is that Obama is going down, down, down.

"maybe Illinois will keep its dirty politicians home now"...LOL- Great comment!!

Hey RFB, Obama croonies will say anythig to disparge Hillary. Clinton haters will say anything to discred her This is the name of the game. This woman gets my vote for her strength and determination. Oh, but wait, those that hate her call her stamina OverBlown ego.. seems to me its Obama with the big ego thats about to become a little itsy bitsy ego under his wifes comand!

Hillary and her camp must be really proud at the way they have destroyed a loyal Democrat and alienated one of the most loyal democratic voting groups. All in the name of the Clinton's personal power.

riding the RACE CARD WAVE to victory - makes you proud to be American, doesn't it ????

let's see some IRREFUTABLE MATH;

IF hillary does far beyond all expectations and wins indy 58-42 with help of (racially charged) operation "chaos" and also wins far beyond best expectations 54-46 in NC - then, WHO will lead in popular vote and delegates ?

answer; NOT HILLARY

EVEN HILLARY'S RACE BAITING TSUNAMI WILL NOT GIVE HILLARY THE LEAD !!!

IF OBAMA WINS EITHER STATE BY EVEN ONE VOTE, HILLARY SHOULD DO THE HONORABLE THING AND QUIT - BUT THE CLINTONS WERE NEVER ABOUT HONOR WERE THEY ?

Hillary is the savior of the nation ! republicans support Hillary because she has demonstrated real leadership, tenacity, and strength over the tired and unsure mccain. independants see this as well and are troubled by the lack of judgement, inexperience, and questions of character associated with obama. democrats must now come to the realization that Hillary is the only real chance of victory in the fall that we have. obama will only bring defeat while we can win with hillary. Indiana and North Carolina can go along way to saving the party and the nation from the disaster that obama and mccain threaten. Thank You Hillary for your determination to save our country. lets go Hillary!

Does it really matter at this point?, the race was over at the end of February.

And all you Obama retractors, have some facts to back up your outrageous claims because Obama has been a gentleman and could dig up dumpsters of bad associations with Clinton so if you don't want to vote for him because of his questionable associations then you certainly shouldn't vote for Hillary-an overt (but not very good) LIAR.

Obama cannot keep a 20 year relationship with his pastor together but he expects us to believe he can bring America together?

Now Obama supporters are saying that it is due to racism that Hillary is leading in the polls. That seems to be the blame game that Rev Wright plays.

Hillary Clinton should be our nominee, she will win in November.

Neither Hillary Clinton or John McCain wear flag pins on their lapels.

Hillary Clinton has been knowingly married to a lying, philandering skirt chaser for 33 years.

John McCain is on his second marriage to a woman he dated while still married to his first wife.

John McCain actively sought the endorsement of John Hagee, a war mongering, racist, radical right wing preacher who's known for his fiery rhetoric and has publicly called the Catholic church "the great whore".

Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton have earned over $100 million in the last 10 years, not counting 2007.

John McCain is married to a woman estimated to be worth over $100 million.

John McCain's wife Cindy will not release her tax returns.

John McCain uses his wife's private jet in violation of his own campaign finance law.

John McCain admits he understands little about the economy, continually gaffs on foreign policy.

Hillary Clinton grossly inflates her participation in her husband's administration.

Hillary Clinton lies on Bosnia sniper fire.

Food for thought.

Another bogus poll taken without the McCain/Clinton gas tax holiday effect. Seems the gas tax is considerably more important than some religious fanatics' opinions but many people are obviously fooled by the flagrant media scam at work here.

I am sure after the Hoosiers consider the consequences of their vote, they will come to their senses and vote for a winner, Senator Obama!! Our next President!!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE. NOW.

people, just get over it!!!! Hillary needs to win at least 58% the rest of the primary, AND the supper-delegates to get the nomination.
I don't get the attitude that when you bully someone you look tough.

It's disturbing to me that superdlegates are doing what may politically affect them. Why can't the voters have a say in the democratic primary for a change? Why can't we finish this process?

Congratulations to the Barack Obama Campaign for another important
Superdelegate endorsement of DNC chief Paul Kirk today. The electorate are Voting as well as the Superdelegates, Obama 08.

For all the anit-Obama posts, name me one of his policies you disagree with and one racist thing (since you call him racist) he has done? If u can, u are a republican and this is a democratic primary so no one cares what u think.

Sorry to break it to my fellow middle-aged white people, but most of what Rev. Wright says is true. You think naplaming the Vietnamese was morally just? Didn't we go into Iraq to liberate the Shites from Saddam? Why are we attacking Shites now, then?

This is no time for ignorant and childish racism. But, I guess if we elect another Repub (or a Repub masquerading as a Dem), we get what we deserve.

It is a legit question:

If Obama couldn't manage his Pastor then how can he manage the country. But that is why we have separation of church and state. If Obama could tell his Pastor what to do we are in serious trouble. But that precisely is what John McCain has been able to do - get his pastor to withdraw comments he made about New Orleans and the "sinners "who live there.

If we want to judge Obama by his relationship with his pastor, then let us do the same for Hillary and McCain. There is an obvious double standard.

The fact is that even with the "Clinton" brand name and machine at her disposal - Hillary is only now running even with Obama. So what is wrong here? If she can't defeat the brand new untested Obama machine, how will she beat the Republican machine?

Well, America needs to be honest with itself. We say we believe in honesty, integrity, high moral ground, fairplay and so on. Then, why is that when we hear criticism, we are so quick to say "how dare you" or "America is perfect." We have been wrong in the past on issues here and abroad and we probably will be again in the future. We can learn from other countries just as we expect other countries to learn from us. Despite progress, we still have racial, gender, age, and class issues in this country. So, when you say Obama did not separate himself from Reverend Wright consider these two facts, Reverend Wright was invited to the Clinton Whitehouse for the prayer breakfast surrounding Monica Lewinsky and what about the venom associated with McCain's from Rev. Hagee. So, I asked you is it really about judgement in this case or race.

I cannot vote for someone who obviously could care less about the country or her own party. I do not blame her for wanting to add another accomplishment to her political trophy case. I just do not want it at my expense.

Kevin, you are wrong and misinformed, as most are unfortunately. Hillary will not win against McCain in November. She will lose the benefit of MILLIONS of NEW VOTERS that Obama has brought into the fold, because she can only win by a shady backdoor deal with her entourage of party bigwhigs. Republicans support Hillary because they are cynical, and they would rather run against her in November. They drool over the thought of rehashing the drama of the late 90s. Think she can somehow take credit for everything Bill did while dissociating herself from all the negative aspects of his Presidency? Not. He is a liability. She is arrogant, presumptuous, cynical, dishonest, disingenuous, and so on. If she wins the nomination, the party will be in shambles, and McCain will hobble along safely to 1600 PA Ave.

The only chance for a democratic victory in 08 is for Hillary to swallow her oversized pride and concede that she has no mathematical chance of winning.

Such venom??If you prefer Clinton just vote for her. No problema. You deserve her. Go right ahead. OBAMA '08

Hillary will absolutely lose the general election. If Obama loses, at least we nominated the better candidate. And besides, Democrats can not win the Presidency without the African-American vote.

Obama is going to a great president ,Hillary can start THIRD WOLRD WAR,her comments about Iran

hillary has been screaming in a shrill voice for months that superdelegates are not obligated by any outcome of any vote - now the superdelegates are declaring themselves for OBAMA and hillarites are upset - just another link in a long chain of clinton double standards

MEMO to the lying, power-mad, influence peddling clintons - you had your moment already - GO AWAY

When Obama wins he's lauded, when Hillary wins she's "destroying loyal democrats for the sake of her inflated ego". It's called survival of the fittest, baby and if Obama can't take the heat get him the hell out of Hillary's kitchen!

I just hope that after Obama wins the nomination that Hillary's attack dogs will relax their jaws long enough to realize the should be digging into John McCain.

Somehow I doubt it as Hillary's supporters have by and large been as classless a group as I've seen in a while.

It seems as though Hillary has finally found her voice and if she wins Indiana and comes close in north carolina i think those superdelegates will change their tune..Obama peaked way too soon...it's not over til its over...I don't know how any superdelegates can pledge to anyone until the primaries are over and counted.
How can you pledge to someone who hasn't won yet?

Obama isn't a racist. He's just incredibly unqualified and inexperienced at this point. Being a former Obama supporter who has come to the realization that his inexperience could spell trouble, I'm happy to see people are moving to Hillary's camp. Remember another inexperienced yet charming candidate who won the presidency not long ago named George W. Bush? Do we really want to have another incredibly inexperienced person at the helm again?

He really should've spent more time in the Senate, worked on powerful committees, and made a run in 2016. He was only in the U.S. Senate a few years before he decided to run for President. How could anyone possibly think he's ready to be president when he still hasn't fully figured out how the Senate works?

Barack may win the nomination but there is no way a soft spoken, gentle, conciliatory, intelligent, handsome black guy who watches the world one step removed like an anthropologist is gonna take out the republican media show. He won't be able to and I don't want to see a man like that trampled like McGovern. America will be in a much worse position with a hammered Democrat candidate than either Hillary or McCain just getting in.

Scenario 1 - Barack wins nomination. He won't go for the jugular against McCain. It's not in his nature. I know I'm like him. This is morally great but looks terrible. He will not get across to core white lower class electorate. So only hope is that McCain slips and what is going to make him? McCain will do a Nixon and triumph in over 40 states.

Scenario 2 - Barack wins nomination and gets hairs on his chest. McCain slips slides makes mistakes. Barack will need to start pulling up his sleeves and drinking with the boys. Barack will lose but might, just might come close. The JFK which people compare him to was the king of dirty tricks. Obama is a complete amateur in this field. Change and hope will not sway over action and implementation. Think about this in your friends, your field. It's too strong. People want the concrete and quite like/admire the mean.

Scenario 3 - Hillary wins nomination through some complete screwy ending to the nomination process. She fights McCain hammer and tongs. She is vicious. She may get him very upset. He looks terrible. She may win - I think she would win. But if she doesn't win, it will be very close. The republican control in Washington is flawed.

I agree I don't like dynasties but Barack is an amateur in the dirty world of politics. The liberal media may like him and aspire with him to higher things but in the reality of depression people want concrete. Teflon tough presidents appeal. Hillary is clearly much tougher than Barack and doesn't need to prove her credentials. I'm afraid the vote is her or McCain.

If Obama is indeed as selfless a personality that he makes himself out to be then he needs to abort his presidential campaign.

I feel strongly that the Wright incident has been devastating. In talking to my friends it is clear that Obama's message of hope and unity has been tarnished. A lot of them are no longer sure of who Obama is. Is he the guy who attended Wright's preaching for 20 years. Or, is he the guy who finds Wright's preaching divisive. Wright it seems has always been the same which makes Obama's consistency totally doubtful.

The Democratic Party just cannot afford to risk the aspirations of us Democrats after 8 years of Republican rule.

Excuse me DR.KKSHARMA- Obama had made a similar comment about bombing Pakistan last summer. And you had no problem with that, right? BTW Hillary said, if necessary we COULD obliterate Iran. And she's right. How quickly we forget:
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — Pakistan criticized U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama on Friday for saying that, if elected, he might order military strikes against terrorists hiding in this Islamic country.

"Obama is finished. He will never be President..He lost the race all by himself...If he can't choose associates as a layperson how can he choose associates in the White House??Get real..He can't. HRC will be our next President of the United States...."Kaye

Keep drinking the kool aid Kaye. Billary is done, DOA and the fact is that she's driving over the cliff - Thelma&Louise style. She's crashing the whole thing, and when she's done, she'll take her ball and go home. Yeah!!!

If Obama ends this race with more pledged delegates and Hillary wins with support from more super-delegates, black voters -- the most loyal facet of the base of the Democratic party -- will be alienated for many an electoral season. I sincerely hope that the party can beat McCain without spirited support from African Americans. Hillary could probably carry Ohio, Penn, Florida & Michigan, and maybe that would be enough to win. But it will be tough.
What seems more likely is that Wright will achieve his aim of leading Blacks away from the mainstream community again and ensuring that the government will remain in GOP hands. This will give him the milieu and all the talking-points he needs to spew his nonsense until he dies.

Lets hear the media report on Hillary's pastor William Procanik who was convicted of sexual abuse to a 7 year girl and child endangerment! Rev. Wrights comments were outrageous but he's no child abuser. Clinton why were you still in that church? I don't fault Obama for his pastors remarks and I don't blame Clinton for her pastor's behavior. But what does anger me is the double standard.

Hillary will absolutely lose the general election. If Obama loses, at least we nominated the better candidate. And besides, Democrats can not win the Presidency without the African-American vote.

Say again? African-Americans are not even the largest minority in USA. It is better to keep the Women/Seniors (people who form the largest block of voters) and Latinos (the largest minority group) and Reagan Democrats/Independents (big swing groups) and lose African-Americans, rather than keep the African-Americans/Latte Liberals/young voters (smallest voting bloc) and lose everyone else.

If you want to be scolded for the next four years, vote for hillary.

I don't think that a lot of Americans get it. Wright does speak they way that he speaks and has spoken that way for over 30 years. I go to a church and sometimes i don't agree with things that are said but religion teaches you that we all serve the same GOD. There is suppose to be a separation of church and state at least in the US Constitution there is. Many people don't argue that point. Politics are one thing but don't hold an association to religion when America is a melting pot.

Hillary should not quit this race just to make the gender-biased media or the Obama's campaign and supporters happy. Obama is not experienced enough to be President, the only reason Obama is ahead is because some of the Republicans crossed over in some primaries to help Obama become the nominee to make it easier for McCain to win the general election, when that time comes if Obama is the nominee, these same Republicans and Independents will go back to party lines and vote for McCain, So in the long-term, Obama has not gained anything but a sure lose to McCain, because after The Republican Swift boat Machine get through with him, he'd wish he stepped down and gave the nomination to a more experienced candidate like Hillary, the Swift boaters will eat Novice Obama alive, causing us to lose the General election for sure, at least we have a better chance with Hillary bringing home the Presidency for our party.

I'm suggesting that all Hillary supporters not untie behind Obama or the DNC if Hillary is not the nominee, because the way she was biasly and unfairly treated by the gender-biased media and the Obama campaign, All Hillary supporters at that time should either stay home, vote for Hillary as a write-in Candidate, vote for McCain, or Nader, this is to protest the DNC, the media, and Obama's campaign for not being fair and balanced towards Hillary,

If Hillary was losing fair and square throughout this primary, I would not be calling on all Hillary supporters to do everything they can in the general election to help block Obama's Presidency, but since they did not want to play fair, we should not unite the party around Obama who's truly not prepared to take on this office and be able to clean-up and fix the mess Bush will leave behind, Hillary is prepared now to step up to the plate, and start tuning this country around on Day One of her Presidency as oppose to Obama who needs a lot of on the job training before he could even start doing the duties of the President.

Obama should be the one to step down and let someone with experience and know-how like Hillary to fix America's ills, and then in four more years, Maybe gave Obama a chance to continue fixing and enhancing what Hillary has done in her 4 or eight year term to turn this country in the right direction, Obama is still very young, so he would have his chance to be President again, but for now Obama needs more time in the Senate in order to strengthen his skills in Congress and then win for President after he's gained a little more experience.

I hope all Hillary supporters follow my lead, if Obama get's the nomination, try and block his Presidency and vote for Hillary as an write-in candidate, vote for McCain, Nader, or stay home in protest of the DNC throwing Hillary under the Bus to nominate a less experienced candidate than Hillary, I'm also considering also leaving this party and going Independent if Hillary does not get the Nomination, I just can't back a candidate who I don't trust or have confidence in to do the job of uniting and fixing the mess Bush will leave behind, I hope other strong Hillary supporters will follow my lead, no uniting this party around Obama or the DNC, go Independent if you have to like I will if Hillary quits, forced, or pressured out of this race. Al of people are still having a problem with women trying to become President in this country, the glass ceiling is still present when it comes to a woman trying to run for this office, So voters and the DNC - Leadership and some lawmaker’s in Congress would rather put up a inexperienced male candidate over an experienced woman candidate to be President what a shame, well I will not support it, I'm voting based on experience not race or gender, Hillary meets that standard and criteria now.

Go Hillary!! Never give-up, Never quit, fight until this nomination process is decided by the Super delegates, because you or Obama can't win the nomination without the Super delegates approval, and let the chips fall where they may. I still think you can win the nomination at the DNC Convention, don't get discouraged a lot of supporters are behind you and have your back, this Presidency is worth staying in the race at all cost, because the stacks are to high just to turn the nomination over to a novice Senator Obama, who has a less of a chance of beating McCain than you do, you will give McCain a run for his

foks! have a little bit of brain! don't be victim of media like that! what Obama has said that MLK hasn't said before??? whatever coming out of his mouth MLK has said before, why people are not running around accusing MLK of what being anti-american?

first, i am wondering what i have to write to be acceptable. hillary try as you might, soon you will go angrily into the night. you to your bed and bill to his shed. the race will be over and chelsea will no morer. pardon my capitilization and my grammarization, i am happy that Obama has another superdelegate "endorsification."

IF A PASTOR IS KNOWN BY THE COMPANY THEY KEEP!
When the Rev. William Procanick put his hand on the Bible during his
sex-abuse trial in Oneida County Court earlier this year, he swore to
tell the whole truth And nothing but the truth. But as the former
Clinton Pastor was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for
Inappropriatel y touching a 7-year-old girl at his Home last March, Judge
Michael L. Dwyer said Procanick S acrificed his honesty the day he
testified.
Okay, so now that Bill and Hillary Clinton's pastor Has been convicted
of child molestation, will we see the Same furor directed at Hillary
that Obama has had to Endure these last few weeks?

Aamittal,
You question Obama's ability to lead based on anothers party's behavior. Then how loyal of a supporter were you. On your job how fare would it be if your advacement in the company or your salary was based on a boss you once had. Maybe they were even your mentor when your first came to the company and provided you with sound advise over time. Now you have changed and you see some of the things he says are not compatable with where you are in your life. Would it be fair to judge you based on your relationship with your former boss.
Barack Obama as well as all the candidates should be judged according to their words and deeds and not those of others. Rev. Wright has been used to distract the attention from Baracks message. He was used to create fear and push all the hot buttons of white america. The sad part is that is seems to be working. Hillary can LIE about her snipper fire episode which is a clear indication of her lack of character, and it doesn't get more than a days coverage in the media. But Baraks former pastor says thinks that some deem as unamerican and Barack is now not fit. Don't you see everything wrong about that. Why does Barak have to be perfect and the other two are allowed thier mistakes. Racism is taking a hugh role in this election. White America is scared to death that a Black man will be in the White house. I don't understand why. He will work for all the people to make our lives better. But as the old saying goes whites would rather cut off their nose to spite their face. There will be graver consequences with another bush or clinton. Lets hope america has more sense than the media and the haters give them credit for.

Any questions?
Don’t vote for the Manchurian couple.
There is nothing REAL about the Obamas.

Jeffrey, you forgot the last line: And as Obama knows nothing of economics, we'll all be poorer

To try and deflect the impact of the hateful Wright, the Obama Pom Squad here likes to mention Hagee, Falwell, etc.. If Falwell or Hagee has been the pastor and close friend of a presidential candidate for the 25 years, it's a campaign issue because it speaks to the judgment and character of that candidate. If Falwell/Hagee married the candidate and his or her wife, it's a campaign issue. If Falwell/Hagee baptized the candidate’s children, it's an issue. However, if Falwell, Hagee or another controversial preacher has merely endorsed a candidate, big deal. Obama CHOSE to spend the last 25 years aligned with the hateful Wright and the Black Nationalist movement. Big, big difference between a voluntary 25-year relationship and being the recipient of one of thousands of endorsements for president. Nice try, but no cigar Obama cheerleaders.

Obama is against the gas tax holiday but voted 3(!) times for it in Illinois where it then passed. He was so happy at the time he wanted credit for it. The only reason he is against it now is to differentiate himself from the other 2 and for political gain. Wright was on the money when he said that Obama says whatever is necessary for political gain. Wake up people! No change here, he is just like any other politician and swings whichever way is convenient at the time ("I can no more disown him than I could my grandmother" when was that? a few weeks ago - did not take long for the tide to turn)
Somebody check this guy's voting records and judge on his past accomplishments (or none) before voting! Don't vote based on charisma and speeches prepared by professionals trained to do so.

Its pretty obvious that rep voters are voting for Hillary because they stand a better chance of winning the WH head to head with her rather Obama.

As an Obama supporter I would never in a million years vote for the old man and would vote for Clinton if it got to that point.

The comment on illinois politicians makes me laugh.. because politicians outside of Illinois are all
great and moral leaders..

In 2001/2002, Saddam Hussein provoked this nation in to war with just words - saying infamously this will be the "mother of all wars."
In 2008, Rev. Wright provoked many Americans in to categorical condemnation though some have softened a bit after a month of endless coverage.
In both cases, Obama showed an uncommon ability to judge intent, not just words. Against Saddam, Obama said "Now let me be clear – I suffer no illusions about Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal man. A ruthless man. A man who butchers his own people to secure his own power. He has repeatedly defied UN resolutions, thwarted UN inspection teams, developed chemical and biological weapons, and coveted nuclear capacity....But I also know that Saddam poses no imminent and direct threat to the United States, or to his neighbors, ...I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of al-Qaeda."
On Rev. Wright, Obama saw the big difference in intent between the first endlessly looped sermons and his re-justification of those inflammatory statements to the National Press Club. In the first case, Obama saw that Wright's words were in the context of a larger message about positive transformation to his own congregation. In the second case, he said that those same statements to a national audience were intended to hurt and had the effect of giving comfort to hate groups.
Today we have more inflammatory leaders, Iran's Ahmadinajad of Iran, N. Korea's Kim Jong Il and even Russia's Putin who are all trying to provoke America in various ways. We need a leader who can judge intent before he commits the country to action or even categorical condemnation. It gives a chance for more sane action on all sides.

months ago we heard that Clinton could not catch OBama, and nothing has changed.
The numbers overwhelminingly favor OBAMA.
She can count MI and FL all she wants. Noone is going for that 'math'. OBAMA continues to lessen her superdelegate lead.
They are counting their chickens before they are hatched.

Hey mmiller

If you want Illinois to keep its dirty politicians at home, you best vote for McCain, because Hillary Clinton is a home grown Illinois politician - and it shows.

Guess you forgot her brothers were investigated for selling pardons...now if that doesn't say ILLINOIS all over it, I don't know what does.

Most of these comments are the type of ideas that continue to hold this country back. I'm sure most of you have voted for Bush thinking how great of a person he is to share a beer with. Clinton is no difference from Bush and that is she will do whatever it takes to win the election for the White House. Because she is a Clinton and married to Bill some how people translate that to being a good president. American politics is a joke now because most people don't understand that Corporations are the ones that determine the outcome. Do your research and you will find that all Present and Past Cabinet Members come from the Business Sector. To sum this up Clinton has a bigger stake in NAFTA and that's why corporations want her to win....just like oil companies wanted Bush....this is Global, not Domestic politics anymore, wake up and see that this country has plans for the New World Order that past Presidents have all continued to work on . Check the record for every President there is an industry that profits greatly. So, who will profit if Obama wins?

There is no way I'd vote for Hillary Clinton under any circumstances....if she is on the ticket I will vote for John McCain, otherwise Obama gets my vote now and in the General.

obama is a obnoxious, condescending fraud... and many are finally realizing that fact.

As far as the hateful, bigot pastor... obama used him early in his career to advance his own selfish interests - plain and simple. Now, the pastor is pissed, because obama has no use for him now.

Wake up America!

Hillary is the savior of the nation !
Kevin,

I don't want a savior, I want a president who wants the support and involvement of the people in the future of their own nation.

If you want a savior, fine. Invite her to be the pastor of your church.Otherwise, please don't vote.

To David Stanford,
You say Obama is inexperienced? Hillary is only in her second term in elected office. Obama has been in elected office much longer. You say two years in the senate is not enough? It was enough for Teddy Roosevelt, an outstanding president. Lincoln had relatively little experience, Johnson had a lot. Who was the better president?
What has Hillary accomplished?Name one bill she has passed. You think she knows how goverment works? Three times in one interview she said she would use executive order to override congress on things such as CAFE standards. She sounds like she wants to be a dictator.

Is Obama spending 3 times as much as Clinton on this primary like he did in Pennsylvania ?? He tried to buy the primary there but he lost. What a waste of like 11 million dollars !!!
No Bama- No Wright, No Ayers, no REzko, No terrorist cousins Roy and company and no angry Michelle- Indiana voters show this bunch of radicals the door. No-BAMA 2008 !!! no more Obama-DRAMA ... Hillary can win- Obama cannot !!

If she wins Indiana, it will be through scare tactics and mistruths. Check this out:

http://digg.com/politics/Hillary_Clinton_tells_tall_tale_in_Indiana

I wish people would take some time and research their candidate before casting that all important vote Tuesday. There's a lot at stake, and enabling a proven liar's rise politically is really not smart.

Anyone notice the despair, cynicism, and hate-mongering coming from the Clinton camp and some of their fierce supporters? Is this what the Democratic Party represents? Is this how we expect to fundamentally change the status quo and end the corporate culture where dog eat dog is the way of the world? I have a nine month old son, and I want him to learn that there is more to this world then war, poverty, and greed.

Let's talk FACTUALLY (or should we be more Republican-like and discuss the feelgoodery of it all?).

Obama's side: more states won, more pledged delegates, more superdelegates since the race actually began (isn't it alarming how many super delegates decided for hillary last year before YOU the voter even had a chance?), more popular votes, and record breaking fundraising from millions of small donors like you and me.

Hillary's side: states won that will go Obama's way in the fall regardless (ahem, California, New York, to name a couple). And Florida and Michigan. The latter two states forfeitted their delegates when their respective parties screwed them over. In fact, many voters stayed home because they were told their votes wouldn't count, which Hillary agreed with at the time .

Oh wait, there's one more thing, "electability." Do you know who was supposedly more electable in 2004? John Kerry! Polls fluctuate; votes do not.

As a South Asian, it saddens me to see other people of color discount Obama so easily. Thankfully they were not around when revolutionaries like Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Malcolm X, or MLK were facing scandal and told to quit while they were ahead.

What lessons do you want your kids to learn from this election? And if all of us on the comment board are truly for change -- ending the war in Iraq, revitalizing our economy by increased spending on infrastructure funded by increased taxes on the rich, universal health care, increased unionization -- then where is the will, the courage to do this? All am I reading is negativity, disdain, and pessimism for the future. These comments about Jeremiah Wright simply parrot the right wing, why are all of you doing Karl Rove's work for him?

It boils down to this. Do you believe that SHE is the vehicle for change? Or do you believe that WE, the American People, are the vehicle for change?
¡Sí se puede! Yes we can!

Obama is the dem nominee. Hillary needs 80% of the remaining pledged delegates to match Obama's pledged delegates. Unless the dem party bosses overrule the voters choice and deny young, black and college educated voters. If that happens it will be a true Fiasco for the dem party. There will be no party for Hillary to run for in 2012.

Obama was a fool to underestimate racism in the US.

Hillary's associations with Web Hubbel, whitewater, monica, impeachments, womanizing husband far outweight a rev wright.

Whites are predicable in finding a black boogey man that scares them. It's willie horton all over again.

Dave Sanford - question: How do you compare Bush's experience with Obama's and say he was inexperienced. No one ever accused Bush of being inexperienced, just stupid and dangerous.

Bush was a governor, more than once. Most of our presidents have been governors rather than senators, they tend to beat the senators and are considered "more experienced."

As for Clinton and Obama, Clinton's SOLE elected office was as senator for a state she had NEVER LIVED in until she decided to run for office there. That's it. Elected twice to the U.S. Senate.

Obama was elected mulitiple times to the state senate, which in most people's books counts as experience, then elected to the U.S. Senate.

So from an elected office standpoint, he has secured more elected offices, thereby proving his electibility, he has held both state and federal office, which shows his versatility in experience, and he has lived in multiple states in the U.S., in three different regions of the country, on the continent and off, and he has lived OUTSIDE the country, which McCain will certainly use as a plus in his foreign policy column because he was a Navy brat.

Hillary?

Grew up in upper middle class all white Park Ridge, was pampered as a girl, not allowed to play full court basketball because everyone knows a girl's heart can't take that, was sent to exclusive and expensive Wellsley College for Women, paid for by Mommy and Daddy, then went to Law School, worked about 6 months married Bill, moved to governor's mansion and has been pretty much living off the taxpayers ever since.

I don't want her experience. I want someone who had a life more like mine.

Julie, you have no sense of humor whatsoever. Just go to the Obama website and blog with them.

I am so sick of David Axelrod maligning Bill Clinton. Who does he think he is? He could never win an office himself. Maybe because he looks like Tony Reszko's twin brother.

Reply to:
"If Obama is indeed as selfless a personality that he makes himself out to be then he needs to abort his presidential campaign. "

This is the most racist statement here on this forum. Just because Archie Bunkers will not vote for a black man, he should quit while he winning.

Obama has won the most pledged delegates, the most states and the most votes. He would be letting down his enthusiatic young, college educated and blacks that gave him this dem nominee.

Hillary is the same kind of ethical low-life as Bush. Full stop.

I am a Hillary supporter who would vote for her over McCain but will not vote for Obama under any circumstances. Democrats can win without the blue collar vote and if Obama is the nominee he will lose for the exact reason that Kerry did. Kerry couldnt get the support of blue collar workers and neither can Obama. Obama represents the far left wing of the party. He is the moveon.org wing of the party. We need someone who resides close to the center like both McCain and Hillary. I would be happy with either one. We do not need to move from the far right to the farthest left. Stay in the center where most of us reside. Vote Hillary.

UMMMM....UNTIL THE VOTERS IN FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN HAVE THIER "SAY" OBAMA IS NOT THE CREDIBLE CANDIDATE!!!! AND WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO SUPPRESS BOTH OF THOSE VOTES (THANKS TO HIS BOY BUZZ THOMPSON IN MICHIGAN) HE KNOWS FULL WELL IF THOSE STATES WERE ALLOWED TO COUNT, HIS CLAIM FOR WINNING THE POPULAR VOTE AND DELEGATES WOULD END WITH HIS DEFEAT IN BOTH OF THOSE STATES!! (SO OBAMA USED A BUSH TACTIC TO SUPPRESS THAT VOTE!!! GO HILLARY!!!

This is great news for the Republicans! Worst president in our country's history, unwinnable war waging, economic upheaval, terrible education and healthcare future, weak dollar and a world that looks at us with disdain are all the legacies of the current Republican administration.... and yet they're still going to win in November. Ha! Nice job Obama and Hillary and well orchestrated Dean! I'm voting Democrat no matter what because, while I don't really like Hillary, I know that I dislike how Republicans have run this country into the ground even more. However, so many Democrats dislike either Hillary or Obama so vehemently and won't vote for them that now that McCain is the favorite. The saying that comes to mind is cutting off your nose to spite your face. Unbelievable! Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory should be the Democratic rallying cry.

These types of headlines are useless. People, do the math. She would need to trounce him in every remaining primary almost 3 to 1 to just catch up to his delegate count. Calling a race tight, or neck in neck is meaningless. It only stokes these HRC followers for a day or two and at the end of the night after the primary is over and she was able to pull it off by a few percentage points, everyone will be celebrating a hollow victory. The following morning they will have already split the delegates and he will still have a lead with the delegates and the popular vote. In a slow and agonizing fashion her so called superdelegte support is also eroding. Even more sad is when superdelegates who had already committed to her start to defect to Obama's side. These people can read the writing on the wall. This country cannot put up with another 4 years of a Bush surrogate much less a Bill Clinton surrogate. Hillary thinks that by becoming president the stain of sin can be erased from her husbands last 2 years of his presidency. That can only come from within.

My fellow Hoosiers, with their innate sense of what's real and worthwhile, will not favor the fraudulent, transparently self-ambitious Hillary. They will come through for an authentic, once-in-a-lifetime leader: Barack Obama.

Thanks you very much "Reverend" Wright; you have single-handedly destroyed the best opportunity for an African-American president, and perhaps someone who could do more for racial healing than anyone in history. Great job, you hateful man. You should be ashamed of yourself!

Obama may still win, but will be wounded so bad that McCain will end up victorious (even if Hillary wins form here on out, she will not have enough voters for the nominations- and if her handlers steal the election from Obama, there will be another "Chicago '68" Democratic Convention).

A real tragedy Wright could not control his arrogance, his hate, and his mega-ego. His church should take his mansion and mercedes collection away from him!

i just don,t get it,please tell me how in the world could so many of you continue to be so blind?why even when exposed to the lies, the deciet, you would support a person who has shown over and over again her willingness to do whatever it takes,on a power trip,to get her way, she does,nt care about you or yours.

i just don,t get it,please tell me how in the world could so many of you continue to be so blind?why even when exposed to the lies, the deciet, you would support a person who has shown over and over again her willingness to do whatever it takes,on a power trip,to get her way, she does,nt care about you or yours.

At the beginning of the campaign I was pretty jazzed about most of the Dem candidates. But I'm having second thoughts about Hillary. The manner in which she's conducted herself (attack whenever she's down in the polls), the schizophrenia (who will she be today - the boo hoo Hillary or Sgt. Hillary or whoever), the pandering (now it's the gas "holiday" - why be a codependent to people's addiction? And just who is going to make up the lost revenue?) . I'm in the process of convincing myself that McCain wouldn't be such a bad choice - at least he'd be a check on the Dems, who will probably have big majorities in both houses.

"In fact, many voters stayed home because they were told their votes wouldn't count, which Hillary agreed with at the time ."

Raul, boy are you sadly misinformed. Both MI and FL had record turnouts at the polls. So who exactly stayed home??

I love these Republicains firing dud after dud at Senator Obama and he is still leading in the national polls, with Senator Clinton showing 36%!! The strategy of the Republicains is backfiring on them, superdelegate after superdelegate is going over to Senator Obama's side. Keep wasting your time, Republicains, blogging, pretending to be Democrats, you aren't fooling anyone!!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE. NOW.

Indiana and North Carolina could do us all a favor and Vote for Hillary Clinton!! I think the people in other states how have already had their primarys are now having "BUYERS REMORSE" for voting for Obama, because since they voted alot of truth came out about Obama. His friendships with Rev. Wright, Rezko, Ayers, Farrahkan, and his wifes comment. I think if all the primarys were to revote now Obama would loose big time. Indiana and North Carolina still have a chance to vote next Tuesday and can make things right. Hillary Clinton can win against McCain in November!! Votr Hillary Clinton 2008!!!!!!!

The good people of America of all faiths and races will go beyond Politic's as usual, and nominate Obama for the Democratic choice for president come August in Denver. Truth will triumph wrong. Right minded people have seen the media and Right Wing pundits try to take this election away from the American people and make it a Racial Hatred issue. The American People are not that dumb to let Politics remain. This is how we got George Bush for two terms because of FEAR.

em: I think I have a good sense of humor - didn't you think the comment that Hillary's brothers selling pardons had Illinois written all over it was funny?

I did.

You don't have a sense of humor.

Six years ago, the launch of Hillary Clinton's career in the US Senate was marred by allegations that her brothers had received payments from people pardoned by President Bill Clinton in the waning months of his presidency.

More:

Now, in the wake of the launch of her presidential campaign, the pardon controversy has reemerged in an obscure court case in which Senator Clinton's brother Tony is battling an order to repay more than $100,000 he received from a couple pardoned by President Clinton.

Tony Rodham, who acknowledged approaching the president about a pardon for the couple, is the second of Hillary Clinton's brothers to receive money from people who were eventually pardoned by President Clinton. Hugh Rodham received $400,000 from two people, one of whom was pardoned and one whose sentence was commuted.

I forgot about this part - no WONDER she's willing to OBLITERATE Iran for the Israelis at the expense of her own country's children.....

From the Boston Globe:

The Clinton pardons were a major scandal in early 2001, as Hillary was beginning her term. She said she and the president did not know her brother Hugh had received $400,000 in fees from two people, one of whom received a commutation and one a pardon. Hugh Rodham has said he returned the money.

The Rich pardon received the most attention. Rich had been indicted in 1983 on charges of tax evasion and illegal trading with Iran. Rich fled to Switzerland and never stood trial.

Before Rich received the pardon in January 2001, his former wife, Denise Rich, contributed $70,000 to a fund supporting Hillary Clinton's Senate bid, and also made a large contribution to the Clinton presidential library.

President Clinton has said he pardoned Rich at the behest of Israeli officials, and has denied any wrongdoing.

Does not matter, I would never support another Clinton.

I find it curious that Hillary Clinton says she would have left the church that Barack Obama attended. Why didn't she leave Bill Clinton after he committed adultery, lied under oath, and got impeached. How is it that Hillary did not know that Bill was cheating and willing to lie under oath? How could she stay in a long term relationship with such a person? Where is her good judgment. If my argument sounds weak, vicious or stupid, than I think we should all look at the nonsense we spew.

Hillary Clinton is getting so desperate it's scary. She knows that she lost the election in the only measure that matters, the DELEGATES. Just because we are finishing the primary season in a bunch of states that favor her HEAVILY, doesn't mean anything. Why are the "key" contests like PA and IND always states that favor her? Let's see her win NC, then maybe the superdelegates will care. They're not stupid and they know the dirty political games she's playing. All she's doing is helping McCain (which maybe is her intention after all).

I think its pure comedy that you all think either democrat has a shot at winning in november. What kind of leadership has any of them shown, obama with one years senitorial expeirence? Yeah vote for him, and hilliary isnt much better just because she was the first lady doesnt mean she should be president. The democratic party is a total mess because niether of these people should be president because they dont have any past expierience. Come on people, this is for the president of the united states here. Get a clue.

Go Hillary! Indiana loves you and Bill.

People and the media have not yet called out Obama's senatorial experience. What has he accomplished? Other than raising millions of dollars on the Internet and subverting a generation of people on change and the "audacity" of hope.

I've also noticed he is an expert at deflection. Never gives substantial answers to questions and willing uses the word "divisive" which is in fact divisive itself.

Donnatello, you suck. She will win Indiana and North Carolina, and then the supers will have no choice but to go with her, because she will be ahead in the electorates. If they don't they know that the Dems will loose in the general because she has taken all the states that are needed to beat McCain. Also because 31% of Hillary's followers have said they will vote McCain or not vote at all. That will put your eletist candidate under the bus as they say. Ha I win, She wins, the US wins. You lose.

If Democrats want to win in November then they need to vote for Hillary Clinton. Obama has no chance of winning :(

SUCKERS!!! Anyone who buys into what the Clintons are selling deserves what they get. LIES!!! Sniper fire...duck and cover!!! McWAR

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GscDb3W0_5M

Hillary's depth of knowledge is remarkable. Her years of high level experience as a senator have left her prepared for the vigors of the WH. She is tough, experienced and realistic. She is ready to lead. GO HILLARY!

The dems will never win with two non-white males as their leading candidates. America is not ready for a non-white male president. Maybe in 50 or 100 years but not know.
It's sad but true, people can still be manipulated by the dirty 3: race, gender and religion.

RFB...
You are the reason OUR COUNTRY SUCKS...

Seriously, are you like three years old? Grow up.

Julie, who the H*** do you think you are? You or no one else will ever tell me not to vote. This was a free country the last time I looked. If you want to live where people can be told not to vote, please go there He*l is a another possibility for you to go to. How dare you? Bi***!!!

Don Fitzgerald, did you not read the polls in the tribune today. Get with it, you are way behind in the times. Hillary is in a tie in Indiana and has gained 10 points on Obama in NC. In the national polls she has a 20 point lead over McCain to Obama's less than 15 points.

20 gal tank x 18 cents = $3.60
4 fills/month = $14.40 savings/month
$14.40 x 4 summer months =$57.60

Geeze, thanks Hillary...now what can I spend my great savings on? Answer: 1 tank of gas! Wow, I'm so thankful for your generous idea. Oh, yeah, I forgot, you're going to recover this loss from the windfall profit tax on big oil. But wait??? Weren't you going to use the windfall profit tax on green jobs? What magic do you have that can get you to spend the same dollar amount on 2 different expenditures?

Wake up Indiana...Hillary is shooting sniper fire at you, hoping you duck the truth!

blacks voting for black is not racist. Whites voting for whites is playing race card. Double standard = affirmative action. Obama supporters are MAKING a black president no matter what.

Indiana and North Carolina could do us all a favor and Vote for Hillary Clinton!! I think the people in other states how have already had their primarys are now having "BUYERS REMORSE" for voting for Obama, because since they voted alot of truth came out about Obama. The only new idea that I read here and possibly makes sense was Nomas'. Perhaps people supporting Hillary Clinton in these last primaries are not so serious about their support. The mathematical win is there for Obama, they might think, and they therefore just "spoil" their votes.

Might not be true, but worth some consideration.

The only thing I have to add is that this Reverend Wright guy doesn't look the type to give up. He wasn't stopped before by friendship, so I don't see what will stop him in the future. (The guy has a "wright" to speak, but his timing shows he isn't much of a friend, and I think that's the point.

Maybe he'll wait for the fall.

I hope Obama has a plan for another Wright speech.

Obama played the Race card right from the start. He stayed in a Racist Church so he could get elected in Chicago. He isn't fit to run this country. He needs to go back to his racist pastor and make up.

Go Hillary. Keep the crooked Illinois Senator out.

Polls have show Obama was hurt by the Wright fiasco, but not a whole lot. This Wright thing isn't anything when you compare it to what the Republicans plan to do to Hillary. Yes, all the 90's drama rehashed in front on your eyes. The fact that they (Repubs) are literally salivating and supporting Hillary should tell you all something. Experience isn't everything and we have had experience (like in GW) and look at what that got us. Wisen up....Obama isn't perfect, but he's our only hope to really change things in Washington. Hillary has too many ties and owes too much.

**Obama cannot keep a 20 year relationship with his pastor together but he expects us to believe he can bring America together?

Now Obama supporters are saying that it is due to racism that Hillary is leading in the polls. That seems to be the blame game that Rev Wright plays.

Hillary Clinton should be our nominee, she will win in November.

So, it is better to maintain your intertia, and not change is what you are saying?

Obama broke off ties with the man over a year ago, for what it is worth.

Hillary is corrupt and her grab for power is naked and unapologetic.

She is a proven liar. Kudos the person referring to the Clinton's shady past. You don't see Obama using that as ammunition. The man is honorable and trying to the right thing.

What if winning isn't the most important thing? What if people don't know how to manage themselves as is apparent by everyone's willingness to be distracted from the issues that actually matter?

A dirty victory is just that-- you didn't win by virtue of your qualities-- you won because you're corrupt.

Way to be proud, Clinton supporters!

This is why Obama is losing:

"I really don't want an African-American as President ... I think he would put too many minorities in positions over the white race"
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/192341.php

We have Americans focused on flag pins. There are people under the impression that Obama is Wright's puppet, and will enslave Caucasians in the US. There's Clinton, singing much of a "Gas Holiday" simply to pander to voters politically, when almost every economist in the nation is stating such a move would only hurt Americans by increasing demand and therefore the price. Clinton's strongest voters are the easily swayed and manipulated undereducated voters.

Flash back to the year 2000 when the Democrats were in the White House. The economy was in great shape. Jobs and wages were up; debt and prices were down. The Democrats should have had an easy walk-in-the-park election, but no. We had the Dickens of a time getting elected dogcatcher. Why? Bill succumbed to self-indulgence and brought the rest of us down with him. We’ve all spent the last eight years washing off the stinky fish smell.

Now, after eight years of Republican imperial rule, the economy is swirling down the tank. Jobs and wages are down; debt and prices are up. The Democrats should be able to have an easy Sunday stroll back into office, but no.

Enter from stage center-left another Clinton engaging in another round of self-indulgence. The stink that Hillary is slinging, without thought or consideration to what the rest of have been trying to build, is going to take us another eight years to scrub off the walls. She’s splitting the party and alienating a large portion the base, seemingly without a care.

I can’t understand why anyone would vote for her. As selfish as she is, if she does get into the White House, all she will do is spend four years working on making sure she gets re-elected. That means, she will make no real changes that will help people unless the changes also line the pockets of the big money men.

Those of us on the left who would really like to make a difference are really, really, really sick and tired of the Clintons and their single-minded self-indulgence.

It's actually funny to read people accusing Obama of having "dirty money". He has 1.5 million contributers creating a grass roots foundation no president has EVER had. Also, Hillary's hubby has spent the last 7 years earning 100+ million from every special interest group in the world for 30 minute speeches. A GS7 federal employee couldn't have a spouse with that conflict of interest, yet Hillary would be fine? If she is elected there will be special investigator within 6 months looking for conflicts of interest. And, like last time, everyone who gave her money for cooking the books and fraudulent accounting that just so happened to benefit the Clintons will end up going to jail.

The media are making hay with the Reverend Wright and his fiery rhetoric, but for the voter this issue should be a no brainer. Obama supported the Church and its congregation, Wright happened to be the pastor. Supporting Trinity is common among Chicago politicians, and completely natural for someone like Obama involved in community organizing and outreach in that constituency. Wright is full of bluster and nonsense about saints and demons, but so are the preachers who support and are supported by politicians on the right, including John McCain. This will be a non-issue in November for exactly that reason – glass houses. Why not leave Trinity over the last 20 years? – it’s about community, not one man. Why denounce Wright now? – because he’s taking advantage of his new-found limelight to repeat his most incendiary remarks – a self-centered, self-justifying and politically naïve bit of theatre that no sensible politician would fail to denounce. And Obama is nothing if not sensible. So CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc – get over it – there’s nothing to this. It couldn’t be more plain that Obama’s ideas and those of Wright are light years apart – even McCain agrees, and Obama clearly stayed in the Trinity congregation for all the right reasons, not because he was attracted to Wright’s occasional excesses.

Nominating the 'Electable' Candidate hasn't worked for the dems in the last 2 elections. Do we want another John Kerry? Maybe Obama will lose in November, but I think he can get the country to discuss issues along the way. Hillary might lose, too. Her campaign would be a classic 6 months of mudslinging. Let's at least lose in a different way this time.

More States, More Votes, More Delegates, Ladies and Gentlemen the President of The United States Barrak Obama. Hey all you closet racists get used to it !!!!!

C'mon Indiana and North Carolina, the biggest states in the country have not trusted Obama with primary victories. There's a reason for that. They would kind of like to win the White House back, something that can never been done with Obama the nominee. He doesn't poll well against McCain who ought to be easy to beat.

I am not surprised. Since Obama gained a lot of initial support by deemphasizing his positions, I have always thought that his polling numbers have much more downside potential, while Hillary Clinton's numbers have much more upside potential as her more moderate positions become better known and as people get to see her in person.

Incredible, all of a sudden, one thing changes and everybody turns their back on Obama. He hasn't changed his message, its just that the politics have changed. The Clintons will stop at nothing to get in the white house. They will say and do anything. Too bad it's too late. You can't change the Math. Obama Wins!

Hillary's proposed gas tax holiday is old style political pandering. Is this the kind of "change" she has been fighting for the last 30 years.

Just what we need, another politician that will do anything to get elected.

One side benefit if Hillary gets elected, it will be great for Bill's consulting business. He can make some more uranium mining deals with the dictator of Khazhakstan.

Latest Indiana poll just released and shows a 9 point shift toward Obama. Tonight in Indiana it is Obama at 43% and Clinton at 41%.

I guess somebody told the voters of Indiana that Sen. Clinton's 6 Year PROMISES OF JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! in New York cities like Buffalo never materialized. In March of 2007 Buffalo's unemployment rate was 4.9% and tonight the long suffering people of Buffalo see their unemployment rate at 6.2%
What we do see in Buffalo are good paying jobs being replaced with low wage service jobs. So the people of Buffalo are experiencing a double whammy under the "Great Senator from New York!"

Let me quote from the New York Department of Labor Statistics as to the City of Buffalo, New York:

"Private sector employment in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metro area decreased by 1,200, or 0.3 percent, to 444,500 over the 12 months ending March 2008. Losses occurred in natural resources, mining and construction (-1,800), manufacturing (-1,700), financial activities (-800), and educational and health services (-500)."

"Job gains were centered in leisure and hospitality (+2,000), professional and business services (+1,200), and trade, transportation and utilities (+300).

Be careful Indiana voters that you don't also get what she promises. Service jobs at $8.00 a hour as you watch more of your good paying jobs get outsourced under the Clinton NAFTA LAWS. Just like the good people of Buffalo. New Yorkers have been watching their jobs leave the past 6 years.

P.S. Good people of Indiana in the last 6 years we have watched our property and school taxes skyrocket in New York. Tonight I sit in my dark home (electric is unaffordable) and my yearly property tax bill is $10,7000 for a single family 52 year old home on a 60 foot by 100 foot lot. It was $3500 six years ago.

Both my children left New York. My son and his wife decided to escape Sen. Clinton and her ever rising taxes. They moved to Indiana last year. My wife and I who are life time New Yorkers will be right behind them as soon as we sell the house in New York. We want what you have. Limited government, low taxes, electric bills that are not $600 a month if you put the lights on, home heating bills that are not $1100 a month with a gallon of home heating oil priced at $3.89 and the right to spend our own money rather than support bloated government bueracracy that plagues Sen. Clinton's New York.

Think before you vote Tuesday. Don't make our nightmare your nightmare for the next 8 years.

Hillary will not become president. If she steals the nomination, REAL Democrats will never forgive her and cast their vote for Nader or someone else. Not much difference if she gets elected or McInsane does, both are conservative warmongers in the pockets of corporate fascists.
