Should the Constitution be amended to define marriage as a union of man and woman? President Bush says yes, Sen. John McCain says no.
Should the federal government finance research using new lines of embryonic stem cells? Bush no, McCain yes.
Should Roe v. Wade be overturned? Yes and yes.
Bush and McCain agree on 79 percent of the issues covered in some 90 matters that the folks at whereistand.com have assembled.
And, the group suggests, now that it appears that McCain may well be facing Sen. Barack Obama in November, it's time to also look at where Obama aligns with Sen. John Kerry, the Democratic nominee for president last time around.
The two Democrats match up on 91 percent of the 74 issues outlined.
Based on the information available at the time, was the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq justified? Kerry, who voted for the authorization of military force, says yes. Obama, who was not a senator at the time, has said no from the start.
The two agree on Roe v. Wade: It should not be overturned.
And on the marriage amendment: No.
To see where else they all line up, and where they part ways, see the work that whereistand has done.
The New York-based organization, which bills itself as a "social-networking community that lets members define who they are by their opinions,'' also provides a fun tool that enables you to see how you line up with each of the candidates.

It really doesn't matter, we no where the Republicans stand, right behind the Bush/Cheney policies!! If they say otherwise, then they are practicing the First Tenet of present day Republicanism: When you know the electorate is paying attention and you know they will not like the honest answer, than, Lie to them and move on!! They will not remember what you said, a day later!! It is unfortunate that they have been reduced to that, but when you have the economic chasm that exists in this country between the working classes and the monied classes, they have no choice. That is the only way they can justified it, by lies!! I will not present them to you, their lies, you have heard them, ad infinitum, and will continue to hear them throughout this general election. I just hope, this time, that more voters will not be fooled this time, like they were the last two times!!!
SUPPORT OUR TROOP, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE. NOW.

It's not really the issues anymore. The republicans have brought it to a new age...divide and conquer!

It will be interesting to compare McCain of previous elections to McSame or McBush of 2008.

What does it matter if Obama aligns with Kerry? Kerry wasn't elected President, so we have no way of knowing if his campaign rhetoric would have been enacted. Bad excuse for a blog day?

I think it is wonderful that Obama and Kerry have the same mindset on many issues and their opinions and voting records match up. Senator Kerry- the man who should be our president now, has been proven to be right on much of what he outlined in 2004. He has vision and common sense along with his experience. Senator Obama has similar atributes. And, he has a positive message and a way of speaking that is encouraging and inspiring. Both men are honest, hardworking and forthright.
I am thrilled that we will finally get a President whom we can respect and look up to.We should have had this in 2000 and 2004, it has been a long time coming , but now those good days are only months away.
