It didn't take long. Five weeks from the first report of sexual harassment in Marc Dann's office to his resignation in Columbus late this afternoon.
Democrats are hoping this calms the political waters in the run-up to the November election, but don't count on it.
The state inspector general, acting under special authority granted yesterday by the General Assembly, raided Dann's office earlier today and removed computers and files.
That virtually guarantees the scandal will have legs long after Dann's departure.
A lingering inquiry could have implications for the presidential race. Revelations of criminal behavior or even just more sleaze would make selling Barack Obama, in particular, more difficult for Ohio Democrats.

You need to cool your jets, Andrew. You're emoting as if Dann was the Secretary of State for Ohio. The current issues with Dann are alleged sexual harassment and personal affairs--not election fraud. If anything, you need to do threads on the North Canton, Ohio Diebold corp. that produces the interesting, and too-high-tech-for-my-comfort voting machines used nationally that have no paper trail.

Here I thought Stalin made him disappear. When I heard that, I thought we were in Russia, but then I see that he did the honorable thing, in spite his of republican-like behavior, Senator Vetter, to name one!! I will not even go into the stories surrounding Senator " questionable conduct " McCain's republican-like behavior, of the sexual variety!!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE. NOW.

Republicans can look for AAAALLLL the dirt they want. Americans are broke and tired of the FEAR and RACISM! Republicans like Carl Rove and Dick Cheney have sickened our stomachs. They have lined their pockets and took care of the rich. But the rest of the county got war, lost jobs and lost homes in their stockings. Puppet of a president is the most hated guy in history. But you seem to think you deserve to stay in office. Even republican supporters know better than that. BUT you arent listening to anyone - not even them. Oh and by the way, dont let the door hit you on the way out.
