The Swamp

by Mark Silva

"Well, this isn't exactly the party I planned,'' Sen. Hillary Clinton told several thousand cheering supporters filling the cavernous National Building Museum in Washington today, "but I sure like the company.''

Clinton, who arrived with husband Bill Clinton, daughter Chelsea and the senator's mother, Dorothy, as well, came to deliver the concession that Sen. Barack Obama has been awaiting since Tuesday night, when he clinched the Democratic Party's presidential nomination.

"18 million of you from all walks of life... women and men, young and old, Latino and Asian, African American and Caucasian, rich, poor and middle class, gay and straight... you have stood with me, and I will continue to stand strong with you,'' she said. "The dreams which we share are worth fighting for.''

Clinton, vowing to continue her fight on "the front lines of democracy,'' said: "The way to continue our fight now... is to take our energy, our passion, our strength and do all we can to help elect Barack Obama the next president of the United States.''

And she didn't say it just once. She said it repeatedly:

"Elect Barack Obama president.''

"Today,'' she said, delivering the long-awaited words, "I endorse him, and throw my full support behind him, and I ask all of you to join me in working for Barack Obama as hard as you have worked for me.''

"I have stood on the stage and gone toe to toe with him in 22 debates,'' Clinton said of her erstwhile adversary. "I have had a front-row seat... I have seen his determination and his grit.''

Clinton, who said she started this campaign to "take back the White House,'' said: "That's exactly what we're going to do, by ensuring that Barack Obama walks through the doors of the Oval Office.

"We may have started on separate journeys, but today our paths have merged... Today I stand with Sen. Obama to say, 'Yes, we can.'''

ABOUT TIME

NO thanks!! He will not get my vote or most American votes. We want McCain!!

Really? We want McCain? Look what 8 years of Republican rule has done for us. Another 4 should just about do us in, I think.

Taylor, if you are for McCain then why do you care what the Democrats say to each other? Your comment is a non sequitur.

So did she still insist on being introduced as "the next President of the United States" like she did last Tuesday night? Or has she *finally* let that go?

Geee, your opponent clinches the needed vote count on a Tuesday and you concede . . . on Saturday. She's clearly one of the people Obama was referring to with the "bitter" comment.

The socialist backs the communist

that was a good speech, Obama '08 , all Americans will vote for Obama. no Mccain,

Taylor you can go ahead and vote for McCain, unfortunately most of us are aware that there are some of you who would rather keep this Country on the disastrous course that we are on to make some kind of misguided point. The Republicans have lied about the war, costing the lives of many Americans, people are losing their homes, can not afford health care and the list goes on. So you vote for McCain I for one will not follow you and your stupidity.

Bye, bye BILLARY. Don't let the door hit you in the rear end as you exit the political stage -- hopefully FOREVER!

Anyone, or anything associated with Billary scares the Hell out of me!

Sorry Hillary - I appreciate that you had to endorse Obama - but he's not my choice - you are - and I cannot vote for this guy. I just don' trust his motives - I get an uneasy feeling when I see him - it's not good.

Sorry Hillary - I appreciate that you had to endorse Obama - but he's not my choice - you are - and I cannot vote for this guy. I just don't trust his motives - I get an uneasy feeling when I see him - it's not good.

Yep. John McCain will wipe the floor with Obama.
Obama has no understanding of economics, entrepreneurial pursuit, international affairs or immigration. He has a good story to tell. Are you willing to give the White House to Maya Angelou? Well you pretty much have with the flowery drivel from Obama.

Hooray for you, Hillary. I was truly apprehensive to hear your speech, but as an Obama supporter, I feel you "went the mile" for unity. Thanks!

John McBama will not be president. Trying to steal Barack Obama's ideology will not make him electable. His previous records speaks for itself.

Sorry, Hillary. You had me a "hello." You lost us at "goodbye."

@Taylor.You speak for yourself but not most Americans.Get a life and quit your meaningless bitterness.

I have never in my life time voted for the republican party but this time I am. No Obama for this family.

To all "bitter" Clinton supporters who now vow to "cling" to McCain; I say, do what you must. Obama will win with you, or without you. There is a wave of change sweeping over this great land; and it will start by washing this current administration out of the oval office. And when all is done and John McCain's boat is swamped, perhaps he wont feel so alone clinging to the debris of Bush/Cheney if you are by his side.

OBAMA ALL THE WAY 2008!!!

I'm women hear me roar and Hillary is right, but for her dreams to continue we must vote for Barack. You can vote for McBush if you feel it makes you happy. But when the courts are fill with conservative
who take away your rights and McBush give tax cut to the rich and send our kids to war for 100 years. Please be aware you will have reap what you sowed. If he chose Rommeny as his VP then Hillary wont have a chance in either 2012/2016 so we may end up with a republican in the White House for 16 years. Remember we must protect the Superme Court above all else

Heck, we really don't want either Barack or Hillary for president. My vote is going to McCain. At least that's a man I know won't be trying to enact communist health care that will take 50% of my income to give free medical care to bums who won't get a job. That, and Barack is just completely off in bizarro-world with his views on confiscating all the guns from citizens.

OMG what an awsome speach! This white working mom is following Hillary 100% in supporting Barack Obama. I haven't felt this proud to be an American since fifth grade, during the bicentenial. I can't wait until November! God is blessing America!

Taylor,

Unless you're very rich or very hawkish, McCain does not stand for your interests. Unless you are anti-health care for all, McCain does not stand for your interests. Unless you're for declining education and access to college for as many Americans as possible, McCain does not stand for your interests.

McCain, and the majority of the Republican Party do not stand for the majority of Americans -- they stand for those top 1 percenters -- the very rich and entitled. They do not stand for my interests or those of most people.

So I am voting with the future of the United States and the majority of Americans in my thoughts -- I am voting for Barack Obama.

Bye, bye BILLARY Clinton. Don't let the door hit you in the rear end as you exit the political stage -- hopefully FOREVER!

Before it’s too late!
The convention is still ahead. At best Barack has shown that he’s the third choice to be president and he cannot lead a nation like ours. His graveling to Hillary after he became the presumptive winner reveals his lack of strength and type of leadership he will practice. The fact that Barack went to Hillary so many times clearly shows Barack’s inexperience, lack of determination and fortitude. Hillary would be a better choice than Barack to lead our nation. If he is elected it will be BIG Smiles, eloquent speeches and weak leadership. In other words, it will be another ‘Jimmy Carter’ Presidency.

Bob K.

I supported Senator Clinton, but I will join her in supporting Senator Obama. He has my complete support and vote.

McCain will appoint people to the supreme court who will deny me my rights. That and hundreds of other reasons make me say that I will oppose him as strongly as I supported Senator Clinton.

Go Obama 08

He is not going to be thr president Trust me

NOBama. Sorry, you can't claim you have better judgment when you sit in pews for 20 years while hate is spewed. That's not judgment, that's lack of it.

Mark,

She did indeed say it many times--emphatically. This is really Clinton at her best.

As you noted, historic, of the moment, and a speech that may represent the turn in the race for Vice President.

Thanks for this.

Clinton's Exit Speech

Hillary, Bill, Chelsea entering the building.

The elegant lit-from-within columns of the National Building Museum flank a podium surrounded by crowds. The scene is reminiscent of the late 19th century. The place is packed.

Terry McAuliffe moves closer to the front of the stage.

Hands in the air applauding and cheers, a fusillade of cameras. We see Bill's face first, smiling; behind him is Hillary. he pauses to hug McAuliffe. Charles Schumer slaps him on the back with a smile. The camera turns to Hillary as she mounts the podium. A large cheer. Bill, Hillary's mother, Hillary, and Chelsea in a line atop the podium.

A pained joyful almost explosively joyful smile from Hillary as the crowd erupts. The sadness, actual joy at the love, deep bags beneath her eyes, there is a certain stunned quality--a dissociation almost as if it isn't real for her, even as another part of her clearly feels the reality, and trues to manifest the toughness, while deep, the catch in her voice captures--there is no other word for it--the anguish underneath.

"To the young people"...a somewhat raucous cheer.."like Anne Riddel"..."New Yorkers...Arkansans...And all those women"-cheer- "in their 80's and 90's, born before women could vote". An anecdote about this.

Strength pushed forward before anguish.

"18 million of you from all walks of life"--a cheer.

Her voice is a manifestation of willed declaration of what has been created by her, for her, on her behalf, cut through with the depth of controlled tears.

"To help elect Barack Obama the next president of the United States" adding a significant and notable depth to her voice. "I endorse him and put my full support behind him. And I ask all of you to work as hard for Barack Obama as you have for me". Mixture of cheers and sounds of upset.

First the forced smile as she begins to enumerate Obama's merits. Cheeks pulled up by sheer effort. However, then she become serious--and she means it. "Ensuring that Obama enters the Oval Office in 2009"

"The Democratic Party is a family and now its time to restore the values we cherish and the country we love..our paths have merged..united more than ever. So much is at stake." Cut to Chelsea--smile with tears.

"We all want an economy that lifts all or our people...A health care system that is universal, high quality and affordable" cheers " This isn't just an issue for me--it is a passion"--and indeed it is, as she hammers it home with vigour.

Remarkably, as she did in the Senate, you can see her settling in, hardening in, to the task ahead--taking her firm determination, and in the midst of this speech, turning it to the new task--still, in the sadness and exhaustion, willing herself to a new life of purpose, as she has done before in the face of loss.

A nod to rehabilitating Bill: "The man who revitalized the US in two elections is here today."

Remarkable, as through sheer force of will against anguish and depression, she slowly pivots, letting her pose of determination turn the anguished machine to its new task.

"Today, I am standing with Senator Obama to say 'Yes we can!". This is the VP pitch.

"Together, we will live in a stronger America. That's why we need to elect Obama our President."

This is a statue of strength mounted over a soul in anguish. Cuts to Chelsea, manifestly tearful mirror that anguish.

Now the repetition theme " And that is why we must help elect Barack Obama our President".

This is full and unequivocal support--a full corrective to her primary night speech.

"Could a woman really serve as commander in chief? Well, I think we answered that one. " A second VP pitch.

"Now, on a personal note, when I was asked what it meant to be a woman running for President, I always gave the answer that I was proud to be running as a woman, but I was running because I thought I would be the best president.

But I am a woman and I know there are biases out there, often unconscious, and I want to build an America that will embrace the ability of every last one of us....to build that future, we must ensure that women and men alike understand the struggles of their mothers and grandmothers and that women enjoy equal pay and equal respect." The subtle reminder of electoral power--just the slightest foot on the neck of pressure regarding the electoral power of the Clinton bloc and the VP choice, while also noting the genuine and remarkable historical achievement of her run.

"To those who were disappointed that we couldn't go all the way, it would break my heart if I discouraged you in...pursuing any of yours...to do what you want to do shouldn't she say "if I discouraged you to vote for Barack Obama? ) and never let anyone say that you can't or shouldn't go on." The slightest eruption of the earlier indulgences--a muted message with just the slightest subtle echoes of "if disappointed...email my website".

"If we can blast 50 women into space, we will someday launch a woman into the White House" In continuing this theme for quite so long, again, now she has lost the balance a bit and is leaning a bit towards primary night and the focus on her, whipping the crowd up not about unity and the fight ahead, but about what has been denied.

But--as, in the end, is her strength and her way, her burden to bear in this life--in the anguish of the moment, she wills herself to bring it around: "If you find yourself or our supporters saying "If only"...don't go there. Time is too short. And that is why I will work for Barack Obama as our next President, and that is why I hope that everyone of you will join me in that effort."

"To my family, Bill and Chelsea, you mean the world to me" --a cut to Bill looking bitter, angry as he has risen, sits back down. Looking to get even?

She is making the turn:

"As we join forces with Obama's campaign, we will stand united for the values we hold dear...and the country we love. There is nothing more American than that."

"The challenges that I have faced in this campaign are nothing compared to those tghat millions of Americans have in their lives."

"I will work to ensure that every child lives to grow up to his or her god-given potential...this is now our time to make sure that in this election we add another Democratic President and to take back our country."

"God bless you and God Bless America"

Waving with a smile..fighting back tears for a second.

Summary: A strong speech. From the beginning of her career--from the Gennifer Flowers episodes, through Monicagate, and the need to fight off its legacy during her Senate run, she has always been able to make the turn under adversity. It has been her role--indeed, her role in her home, finding strength and purpose under the pressure of often negative and hostile judgment and rising to a willed purpose, beneath which the suffering is controlled, until that purpose takes over and becomes the foreground, the reality, the new task. Despite the slight tactical engagements and subtle warnings of her electoral power in the last third, a muted indulgence compared to primary night, she gave the speech she needed to--for herself, for the Party, and for history.

Hillary has been able to make this turn before--and with substance, as in the Senate, where she forged unexpected and genuine legislative relationships. She has the strength of creating a willed and direct pragmatism within herself in such moments--and sticking to it. Consequently, this speech advances the possibility of a dream ticket.

Unity gained. Mission accomplished.

She is correct and she is a classy woman.

Voted for Hillary. Love her. But can't get behind the guy that so snidely and condescendingly attacked her and basically finagled his way to the nomination. McCain for me.

sorry Hillary but I cant vote for him.

Bravo Hillary!!! p.s. for all my right-wing-nut defenders of the illegal Iraq war. I spent the better part of last evening talking to a friend of mine who is a high ranking Marine. He won't be voting for John McCain and he said IRAQ IS FUBAR!!! FUBAR!!! FUBAR!!!

Taylor, get over it, get used to it. Obama will win and yo will be left to nurse your fears in the darness alone.

MAYBE IF MC CAIN DOESN'T WIN, HE CAN ADOPT YOU.

Taylor would you share your reasons why you are for McCain and not Obama? Would you have voted for Hillary?

"Clinton: 'Elect Barack Obama president'"

No.

It was one of her best speeches. She has finally come to grips with the fact that Obama is another transformational leader like JFK and it was just her bad luck to be trying to run at the same time. Frankly, I think She would have made a better president than Bill. If she decides to stay in the Senate, she could develop a legacy that totally overshadows Bill's.

Oh no ! She's coming back to New York !!! :( I would NEVER THINK of voting for Obama. McCain gets my vote instead. ANYONE who voted for Hillary should vote for McCain !

I voted for Hillary for Ohio in March, I will for Obama for the USA in November. To the anti-Hillary/ pro-Obama crowd - will you please stop the insults?

Hillary just gave her endorsement and personal support - and you are still blasting her? If you continue, you just might ruin things for the Democrats in November. The polls between McCain and Obama are too close for comfort, and O's lead could evaporate.

Give yourselves a lot of credit: your team won through hard work, hard ball and intelligence. You will still need those qualities for the rest of the campaign.

McCain makes no sense to me, but what makes even less sense is your insulting behavior towards my defeated candidate. For the moment, I see Mr. Obama as a more gracious winner than many of his supporters. Here's an important tip: Insulting us is so stupid, It could screw up your chances to win the big one.

No matter who wins now we are all doomed!

Sorry, Taylor, if that were true, he wouldn't be the nominee.

Even GOP-supporters don't want McCain because he's just more Bushness that we've had enough of.

Face it - the time has come for change. YES WE CAN!

McCain is the "Manchurian Candidate", held prisoner and "interviewed" by the KGB for 5 and 1/2 years. How can anyone be right in the head? His father and grandfather were admirals in the US Navy, so his imprisonment was even more intriguing for the KGB to break! Besides his fragile health and mental issues, his clinging to the Bush legacy dooms him and spells disaster for the GOP! RIP!

I'm glad the Clinton and Bush political empires are over, the country needs a new start and new ideas. I'm behind Obama and would be happy with some kind of Patient Bill of Rights, as opposed to universal health care. See Clinto 1st term, start small, and BOR is definitely needed.
Some might say, the congress passes legislation but the President is the person who sets the national discussion and he, ahem, has leadership qualities. And most congressman/woman want to be a part of successful legislation. I hope things go well for his campaign till November, the country needs great leaders...just imagine where (and who) we would be if Tom Jefferson, Ben Franklin, G. Washington and Johh Adams didn't appear. Today, they would probably be called elitist. God bless.

She took a long time, but she did it. Now we can heal the party and Obama can heal this country's divisiveness.

Republicans trying to lure the "bitter" Hillary crowd will be surprised when they realize Hillary supporters know Hillary will have more power standing with Obama than with McCain.

All of these Hillary to McCain flip-floppers are hilarious. Hillary and Barack's views were not all that far apart...so for you to do a 180 and flip to McCain--who couldn't be more of the polar opposite--is troubling--and baffling--to say the least.

Obama '08.

Thank you Hillary for a strong race and for reminding democrats to unite.

It now comes down to smarts. Do you elect someone who always finished at the bottom of classes and would continue to run america into the dirt...or do you vote for someone who represents the American dream and has always finished on top? Go Obama!!! If McCain wins this, it only proves how stupid the American people are. If not, it shows how we can come together for CHANGE!

TIME FOR CHANGE! TIME FOR OBAMA! YES, WE CAN!

Clinton and Obama had only two difference when it came to issues that affect all Americans. 1) Healthcare: Hillary wants to mandate healthcare for all people and Barack only mandates healthcare for children with affordable options for adults. 2) Gas tax: Hillary wanted to suspend the federal gasoline tax for the summer and Barack was against it. There were no other major differences between the two on policy and issues. McCain is the polar opposite of both. Think carefully when you step into the voting booth in November. If you want to continue the war, overturn Roe v. Wade, a person who can't tell the difference between Sunnis and Shites, a person who by his own admission knows doesn't know much (if anything at all) about the economy - then by all means vote for McCain. I personally plan to vote for Obama because it's in my own economic, reproductive, and civic best interests. Lastly please stop crying about FL & MI. The DNC stipped their delegates and nullified their votes because they moved their primaries ahead of Super Tuesday in defiance of DNC rules. Harold Ickes - one of Clinton's top political strategists - is on the rules and bylaws committee and cast a vote in favor of punishing FL & MI. Obama played by the rules that both he and Clinton agreed to from the beginning and won fair and square.

What bile and ugliness! Can we not respect the choices other people make? If you don't agree with someone, surely the best way to make your point is politely and with actual meaningful dialogue. Our country needs ALL of us to work together and listen to each other to pull us out of our current mess. Let's all use our brains and consider our choices carefully.

Why would anybody entrust this nation to a man (Barack Hussein Obama) who has only been a U.S. Senator for 3 years? What kind of knowledge and experience can he have that outweighs that of a man (John Sidney McCain III) who has 21 years in the Senate? Most people don't know this outside of Illinois, but Barack Hussein Obama only won a seat in the Senate because, first, leading contender for the Democratic nomination (Blair Hull) had a marriage scandal, and, second, the Republican nominee (Jack Ryan, former husband of actress Jeri Ryan) had his own marriage scandal. Then the Republicans dropped Ryan and brought in Alan Keyes, an outsider from Maryland. But, as usual, history has been rewritten to make it out that Obama was the favored man right along and rode right into the Senate. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blair_Hull and see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama.

Hillary had to be polite and on good behavier with the speech with her stepping down. She has been to big mouthed and snappng judgment's with Obama while running against him to win. I don't like her at all. Hillary didn't expect to loose. Obama will get the right one for Vice Pres. I hope it is C Kennedy that set's next to Obama in Washington. Ya know it won't be Hillary, Thank God.

Thank you, HIllary and Hillary backers. Obama definitely can't win without you.

That speech was all class. I commend Mrs. Clinton for it. I have been an Obama supporter, and was perturbed by her non-concession speech last Tuesday, but she fully redeemed herself today. I do understand how difficult it is for her to give up her dream, but the chips fell Obama's way this year, and she will no doubt have many ways to contribute to our country as a Senator, possibly a member of Obama's cabinet, or maybe even a Presidency in the future.

I continue to fail to understand the Clinton followers who say they'll vote for McCain. If it's simply anger and a desire to punish Obama, it's so misguided it isn't funny. It totally dishonors Clinton and everything she stands for. We have to get over the racism and sexism stuff. There are too many issues that are way more important than that.

Obama's and Clinton's political platform are virtually identical, so there is no real reason to ditch Obama on that score. If you don't like Obama's economic outlook, then you really didn't like Clinton's either.

And on the character issue, which seems to be the hot-button for a lot of people, I think McCain has problems every bit as serious as those imputed to Obama. McCain sought the endorsement of those two radical (and racist) priests or pastors or whatever they were, and he took a long time repudiating them, so in my opinion that's a draw. He does have a lot of ties to lobbyists, including some who work for countries not friendly to us, no matter what he says. His temper is a real problem. He divorced his first wife, who stood by him all that time he was imprisoned, while she was in the hospital, and was overheard by reporters calling his current wife a word that rhymes with hunt but starts with 'c'. Is that an indication of good character?

I look forward to seeing Obama, with the help of Clinton and many others, campaign hard and retake the White House in November.

I cannot fathom the absolute hate that many of Hillary's supporters feel towards Obama. Maybe he doesn't know EVERYTHING - that's why you surround yourself with specialists. The Presidency is not a dictatorship, it's a democracy. Bush, who wasn't smart to begin with, surrounded himself with people who were nothing but "yes-men," people who didn't want to tell him he was wrong. Obama is extremely intelligent to begin with and will surround himself with people who know what's going on - and yes, maybe he IS elitist, but I like that in a president!!! I don't want to sit down and have a beer with my president! That's not what being a leader is about!

We need a leader who can LEAD. Smart people know they don't know everything - that's why smart people surround themselves with people in the know and make carefully balanced decisions based in intelligence. That's something Bush NEVER could accomplish. He just was interested in getting all his "buddies" into prominent offices.

Obama has already shown that he is intelligent and knows what sources to consult, which is more than Bush ever did.

Y'know Liberals, when the brown cloud fully envelopes this country and turns it into a third-world cesspool, the first ones the mud races wipe out will be you because they know that you don't have guns and are a bunch of pansies who won’t fight back, even in the name of self-defense. You can hope and pray for CHANGE all you want but when the savages are burning your homes, selling drugs to your sons, and raping your daughters, remember that you could have made a difference. Now, still want to vote for that know-nothing mongrel Osama Obama and his wife the Ho'Bama? Remember, you can’t take the jungle out of the animal and it isn’t too late to CHANGE your mind.

To the Tribune....aren't you supposed to monitor these posts? The above post is absolutely horrible, hateful, and ignorant.

I am convinced all the people saying that they supported Hillary and are voting for McCain are actually Republicans trying to keep the myth that this will happen alive. It's utter nonsense for anyone who has principles. And I don't mean principles that it's either Clinton or bust (quite literally)--I mean in the things you believe in, in the things she stands for, and the vision for a better, stronger, healthier America we all share on the left.

If you believe in Democratic ideals, in a woman's right to make her own medical decisions, that the war is wrong and that there are better ways than to keep the death toll climbing forever, that Americans deserve a health care system that works, and a hundred other things, then why on earth would you vote all against that? Some Republican myth of being inexperienced? Some e-mail based on fiction about trust?

Obama is a weathered, experienced, smart leader. He makes informed, carefully-thought-out choices, has composure, professionalism, grace, and authority. He's decisive and tends to make the right decisions. Just because someone speaks well doesn't mean they must be lying or whatever nonsense certain people are trying to perpetrate. His policies are right, both domestic and international, his ideas are right, his spirit is right.

Let's swallow our pride. There's a choice coming in November: Positive change and progressive ideas, or more of this economic, international, and public health disaster we have now.

Any enlightened, thoughtful person surely sees that there's only one choice here, and that's Barack Obama.

You know, it really gets me, all these pro-Obama bloggers who are taking more swipes at Mrs. Clinton, even now, even after the speech she gave endorsing him. The one who said 'dont let the door hit you in the..." really takes the cake.

Well here's the 411 Obama people: Your candidate needs Hillary's people, and desperately. The pundits have said that statistically, if he loses a mere 6% of Clinton supporters, the race will go to McCain.

So keep up the disrespect and the name calling. See if spiteful rhetoric and rubbing Clinton's nose in it gets your boy into the White House, or just continues to tear the party apart, to the benefit of McCain and the Republicans.

If he and his supporters disrespect Mrs. Clinton when it comes time to forming his ticket, then he does so at his peril. Hillary's core voters will simply stay home and watch or just go to McCain. And again, we will lose the White House.

Think you don't need us? Think you can mock us? Or her? Think again.

Oh Sally,

How nice of you to say that Mrs. Clinton should continue serving our country back in the Senate....

If the shoe was on the other foot, and the names reversed, such a statement telling Obama to go sit at the back of the bus would probably result in some people calling for a good, old-fashioned race riot...

Save your patronizing bullsh-t, please. This is exactly the kind of talk that will cost Obama the votes of Clinton supporters in the fall.

Response to Candi 5:43 post. Pls read my daytoncapri post of 3:11 PM; and hopeful's message of 4:59 PM. Question: Are you actually McCain booster?

WTF? I guess the LMA was saying he won't vote for a nigger?

I must adit, I've never been much of a Hillary fan (I was a Richardson backer from the start), but her speech today was great...

We need unity!
We need change!
We need Obama!

All of us!

My vote is going for McCain.

Emily Roberts you need to get a life. A little bit of Clinton is too much. Thank God she's out and we don't have to listen to her shrill voice anymore. Now she can babysit Bill and make sure he keeps his pants on.

I hope Obama picks a female Governor as his running mate, just never Hillary. He would then certainly have a winning ticket.

Obama cannot win without Hillary's supporters...And Obama's dubious "friends" who hate America will not be forgotten by the voters. You lie down with dogs, you get fleas!
So go ahead and vote for a guy with NO experience..but hey he gives a great speech!
Socialist Obama wants the government to take care of everyone from cradle to grave. Thus, those of of us who work hard, pay for those who sit around and think they're entitled...despite the wrong choices they've made all their lives. The Democrats have the victim card down pat....

I voted Hilary Clinton, and only support Hilary Clinton, No matter what Hilary Does suspend her campaign concede her campaign. No matter what Hilary does she could even support Obama and campaign for Obama I will never Vote for Barack Obama, I do think Amercia is ready for a black president, just not Barack Obama,,, The way The Democratic party handle this election with the Corporate Media propaganding this whole election, Turned this election upside down,, Obama could of ran over someone,, like Haley Berry, No one would care and still vote,, Obama..
There several million Voter right now like my self, will not ever vote for Barack Obama, Many like my self will be Voting for McCain, my reason is simple,, the Obama voter came on CNN & MSNBC and said if obama does not win the primary, Obama supporter will vote for McCain, Democratic party did not do anything to the obama camp to stop ,, why is obama party splittin the party in half, Now pelosi and many other are blamming Hilary and kept on with the propaganda Corporate Media, Obama Said on the new so many time,, does not Matter, if your Democrat or Republican,, you want the right person for the right Job,, He is so right,,when He said that we wanted Hilary,, Well Congrats to Obama his supporter got him to the primary,,,but He will never win the election,, for Prisident, I will not stop with my blogging,, who is the best man for the job between Barack & McCain,, will vote for McCain he will be way better than Barack Obama, I can put up for McCain for 4 years and Hilary Can run again, Pelosi and the rest of the democrat party,, days are number at this point, For pushing Hilary out and ruining her Career, Even now During Clinton Exit speech,, Democratic party Told Hilary if she does not back there little puppet Barack Obama they will ruin her career,, In my opinion They all ready Ruined Hilary Clintons Career, Right Now I am goint listen to one thing Barack Obama said, and that is, like I said, it does not matter if your Democrat or republican who is the right person for the job,,,, Hillary supporter need to stick together, Vote for McCain or just not vote for we need the right person,,, Hilary is up on stage right now saying what pelosi and the democratic party are telling her what to do,, or Economy is down and the way the propaganda Media is,, we are turning into a 3rd world country,, by rigging the election thru the media, Hilary Supporter who really want Hilary to be president Need to vote for McCain or just not Vote for Barack Obama, let McCain win,, there nothing more he can do as president, Congress will not let him it Congress who controls everything,, not the president, Pelosi and the a lot of the democratic party ruined Hilary Career, If all Hilary Voter, stick together, than We can restore Hilary Career and make her President, in 4 years. if you vote for Obama we have to wait maybe 8 years or 4 years and republican will be office, if Obama wins the presidency he will only be 4 year term,,, I say give all your supporter not to the democratic party, but to Hilary Clinton.. democratic party needs all of them need to leave office and get fresh people in there, who can unite the party not keep it separated and force unity, to who they want not who the voter want,, Hilary would of won this election, DNC screwed her with floriday and Michigan if those vote were counted at the beginning she would of won this race along time ago..and for the sexest Media, Like CNN & MSNBC… will continue to not report the new but Make it up as they see fit, All Hilary supporter need to unit together.. and stick together,, Margaret Thatcher was prime Minister 30 years ago,, but American Men and New Bias, is keeping woman down for personal gain, Like Keith Oberman, & Chris Mathews Who are the biggest Sexest on this MSNBC stations,

I deeply appreciate what it must have taken for Hiliary to support Obama as fully as she has. I'm glad she gave her supporters the kudos they deserve too. I voted for Obama and I think he expects all his supporters to take a higher ground when it comes to our treatment of others, including Hiliary and McCain. Hiliary did. No more bashing. We aren't going to accomplish anything that way.

To Kevin: 7:56 PM. Clever post. How long have you been with McCain?

WOW!! What sad and pathetic people there are on this thread. Pity. Well lambs, McCain will most definitely be our next president. No one needs or wants a phony like Obama. He has fooled no one with his lies and hidden agenda. Next!

I only regret that Hillary had to stoke the coals and bring up gender bias, as though Obama only won by default because gender bias held her back.... Actually, I believe Obama suffered
much more bias than she will ever know, based on both race and the wrongful association with Muslim slurs. Instead of talking about what she accomplished for women, we should be thanking the great American MAJORITY who decided that Obama represented the best of the best in his candidacy and overcame his obstacles with great strength of character, dignity, and grace, ---never stooping to throw mud back, and doing his best, when faced with rude or untruthful barbs, to denounce the conduct, but not the person. He has my vote, hands down.

Taylor, chill out, dude. Empty accusations like that only point to you, not Obama. Free speech is something we all enjoy, but spreading lies and/or making them up, even worse, is not protected speech!
Do you have some top-secret clearance or some inside information to share with us about Obama's "lies and hidden agenda?" If not, then I would refrain from such comments if I were you.

Leaning Left, your judgment is even worse than that if you can't support Obama because of who his pastor was. BTW, who is McCain's pastor? Do you even care? I sure would like to know. Right now we only know that he's really good friends with John Haggee and Rod Parsley. Two other ministers who have made terrible extreme comments. Too bad your disgust for pastors who make extreme comments only flows in one direction.
