John McCain said he was not proud of America until he was captured in Vietnam?? John McCain said it's hard to be proud of America?? But clearly, this woman is the enemy.

I am happy to hear Michelle's comments. It really is tough for so many moms. The expectations are so high.

I do hope, however, they don't "mom" Michelle into a doting first lady. She is not Laura Bush, and I don't want to see her forced to act that way - something in the middle would be best, I think.

As a stay at home mom- i refuse to pay for women who choose to work out side of their home-its about choices.....don't take mine away from me to be a free American! everyone can pay for their own babysitters,doctor appts and time off work!

This woman is an enemy of the United States, she hates whites. She and her husband should go over to a black country and run for office. Hate Hate Hate is all that spews from her dirty mouth. This woman scares me. IMHO, she will try and be JUST like Hillary. She will demand a position in the Obama administration, that she some how was also elected along with her husband. That she is a part (a working part) of the US Government. Huh?

Why would you begrudge those who, for various reasons have a different situation than you?
while I agree that it's the people who need to come together--there was a climate created during the campaign which filtered down to common women--a real hostility toward middle aged women not of a certain hue.
So, yes we can come togheter in the fall, but there needs to be some healing from the 'big people' and some extra comments about how the 'little people' should and should not be treated.

If working women have kids and they need to take lots of time off from work after birth or to take care of sick kids... they cannot expect "equal pay" !! To expect all tax payers, including those who are stay-at-home wives and those who are childless - to have to pay for YOUR childcare is nothing short of greedy dependency! Gone is the independent woman ~ she has been replaced by the modern lady crying out, "Sugar Daddy Govenrment, pay mah way! Sugar Daddy Government, force all those meanie employers to pay me the same wages as my childless co-workers and force my fellow Americans to pay for my child care!" Look at what we have become! What a shame. My mother was a single mom and she sacraficed and she worked hard and we daughters helped take care of our home and we went without and guess what? Not ONCE did Sugar Daddy Government have to hand us anything! We survived ~ we knew hunger and we knew what it was like to be cold. We were treated like White Trash because we did not romp around in the latest fashions or own the latest gadgets and our shoes were old but you know what? We could hold our heads high and call ourselves American Women ~ real American Women that did not need the government to save us! Michelle Obama can keep her Governmental Sugar Daddy plans. She can keep her tax-payer subsidised child care and maternity leave. WE DONT NEED IT! If American women would quit begging for handouts and special treatment and actually TRY to solve their own problems then we would watch as America returned to being the strong nation that it once was. America is WEAK because we have become weak helpless beggers waiting around for our government to save us ~ and we rush to lap at the feet of politicians like the Obamas. "Save us! Save us!" And as for being housewives ~ the idea that we have to be rich in order to afford the "luxury" of staying home... what a load of silly nonsense! Any woman can stay home and any family can survive on a single income if you actually TRY. How about cutting back on your modern lifestyle eh? How many TVs do you working moms have in your houses? Cell phones? Pairs of shoes? Outfits of clothes stuffed in your closets? How much furniture do you have? How big is your home/apartment and how expensive is the neighborhood you live in? How many cars do you own? When is the last time you bought foodstuffs in bulk and cooked from scratch instead of loading up on a wide variety of expensive processed food? How often do you settle for simple meals and how often do you repair the things around your house and repair your clothes instead of throwing away and buying new? Any woman can be a housewife if she tries ~ but not if she thinks she can have it all without making sacrifices and living frugally! So spare me the nonsense that being a housewife is a luxury ~ and the next time you snicker at that lady in the supermarket buying the cheap brands while she and her kids are wearing the cheap clothes take a moment and remind yourself that maybe she's one of those "rich" housewives with the "luxury" of staying home!
