Tony Schwartz, who made the famous Elect Lyndon Johnson "daisy ad" among many other political statements, died over the weekend at the age of 84.
The controversial ad -- which did not name, but was aimed at feeding war fears and uncertainty about, Johnson's opponent, Sen. Barry Goldwater of Arizona -- was, like the 1988 Willie Horton TV commercial for George H. W. Bush, only broadcast one time: during NBC's Monday Night Movies in 1964.
But that was enough to send shock waves through the election's politics at the time. Ironically, Johnson's alleged anti-war ad helped create a resounding election victory that led him to escalate the Vietnam War.

Unfortunately, that is when the Ridiculous Republicans and their Lying Machine realized that a fear/smear campaign worked and they have been employing ever since. The Diligent Democrats have employed such tactics, but sparingly. The Ridiculousness of the Republicans allows Diligent Democrats just to speak truthfully about Ridiculous Republicans' ineptness, incompetence and their criminality and the voters know they are speaking accurately !! Maybe in the coming years, when the voters have spoken to litany of issues that this Ridiculous Republican administration has bungled, mismanaged, deceived and hoodwinked, they will put aside the fear/smear tactics and be more honest and opened with us, the voters. Until that time, let them go back to their districts, stripped of their Office, and let them learn how their policies and insincerity has harmed America. That is the least we can do, for a once proud and dignified Party. Give them another chance, in about 15-20 years !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

Possibly the most effective negative add ever. And a lesson in there for all candies, regardless of party.

And the libs have evolved from Nuclear bomb fears to the fears that the mean-old-Republicans will steal granma's social security check, steal Junior's school lunch, and make us all drink dirt water.
Same old fear-mongering from the left.
