AMMAN, Jordan--Barack Obama landed in Amman, Jordan, about 2:15 p.m. local time for the next stop on his international tour, arriving from Iraq on a V-22 Osprey helicopter. He stepped off the helicopter wearing khakis and a wrinkled shirt and carrying a black helmet and flak jacket.
Obama later today is to hold his first press conference since his visit to the war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan at the ancient Citadel overlooking Amman. The press conference, which CNN plans to broadcast live, is scheduled for 5 p.m. local time, 9 a.m. Central Time.
Obama will meet with Jordan's King Abdullah tonight and dine with the king and other Jordanian officials before flying to Israel later in the evening.
Abdullah cut short a visit to the United States to return to Jordan this afternoon for the meeting with Obama.

I heard Obama really made some of the servicemen mad for not giving them more credit for what they did.....as he doled out credits in his NEW improved Govt. way, where you balance everything out, credit for them, for sunni, for....and so on. The old way gives GIANT credit to the sevicemen. That's white arrogance no doubt.

Barack, US Senator from Ilinois, while you enjoy the freedom of Iraq, know that more Chicagoans have died this year from gunshots than Americans in Iraq. Do your job!!! Represent us before expecting to lead the entire country and even the free world.

Much respect! Now that is how the President of the United States is supposed to be respected and treated. With admiration and as a person of great importance.
Republicans dogged him when they thought he had not visited, and now that he is there - you guessed it - they are dogging the man. Drinking all that hateraide. I couldnt be a person that just disagreed just because. I don't care who it is or what party. I give credit where its due. Bill Clinton was one of the best presidents this country EVER had - top 3. And he did a lot of damage to his legacy, but I give the man his due. Reagan is overrated. Beloved, presidential, but overrated.

Yes, we know all of that. But what kind of shades was he wearing. Those are the coolest shades I've ever seen. I must get me a pair.

Bob 9:46am- THANK YOU!
I hear those poor mothers crying in the local Chicago news. It's appauling.
Hey, I looked up Pollster.com and found that Obama's numbers have dropped dramatically in his own state. Was that due to Rev Wright racist jazz or something else. IT's seems to be showing it ongoing so it hasn't stopped which makes me thing there's more to it than JUST that!?
Granted I know of what things more it could be, but you would think he would have his home state in the bag.

"arriving from Iraq on a V-22 Osprey helicopter"
Since when did the Osprey become a helicopter?
It is NOT a helicopter. The V-22 Osprey is a tiltrotor vertical/short takeoff and landing (VSTOL), multi-mission air-craft.
What did you do here? Send somebody from the Good Eating section to write this?

Nothing is more boring that listening to someones' vacation tales, except having to look at someones' vacation pictures. Please Obam come home so we can see some real news on the internet. A wrinkled khaki shirt. I wonder what the servicemen and women were wearing today? This man should stay over there, we don't need his arrogance here.

what did you expect of obama arriving in the middle east? muslims take care of themselves and nothing less than being accepted by the leaders would be expected. the leaders see him and know his true leanings so they will go out of their way to be cordial.

Anybody catch Obama's Jordan press event. Oh man, he answered a bunch of questions, but guess what they did.....they had NO SOUND for the reporters ha. That actually could go good for both. I think some of them might have asked something....hey, I think this is they way they intended for us to feel about it ha. Not bad!

"But what kind of shades was he wearing?"
Those are military issue aviator sunglasses; one of the tiltrotor's crew probably gave the to him. My son has a pair just like them; he serves on a MV-22 Osprey.
