The Obama campaign is not formally vetting former rival Sen. Hillary Clinton for a spot on the ticket as vice president, according to Clinton's former communications director.
Howard Wolfson told FOX News last night that Clinton has not been asked to participate in the vetting process "as far as I know."
"She's been vetted now for a long time -- she's got thirty years of taxes in the public record and financial disclosure forms," Wolfson added.
"She ran for president for 18 months and every news organization in America had multiple teams of reporters look at all aspects at her career and her biography," he said. "So there's a lot of information out about her that I know Senator Obama is privy too, that may be sufficient for him to make whatever decision he wants to make."
In other news on the veep front, Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) today said the Obama campaign has asked him to provide information about himself for the formal vetting process.
"There's been some inquiries, yeah," Dodd told the Associated Press. "They ask for a lot of stuff. I'll leave it there."
Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius issued a statement saying that the decision and timetable for who Obama picks as his running mate is his choice.
"All of us who support Sen. Obama have been asked to direct questions about his choice for vice president to the campaign," Sebelius said.

Yes, Obama is considering Chris "Sweetheart mortgage" Dodd for VP.
These people are clueless.

What better way to erase images of Bill Clinton's "Man from Hope" image than to select the Man from Glad?
Some of you Obama supporters may be too young to understand the obscure commercial reference from about the time you were born, or before.

This idea that Clinton has been vetted is one of the most ridiculous things the Clinton campaign has been spouting for the past year, and it continues today.
Bill Clinton has been raking in the dollars as a speaker since he left the White House, and there are millions of dollars unaccounted-for in the Clinton coffers.
Anyone who thinks Clinton-as-VP will reveal no surprises is just naive about politics. All this talk about Clinton being already vetted just tells me there is something they don't want anyone looking at closer.
