John McCain launched a series of radio addresses today starting with a speech to listeners about employment and energy.
The presumptive GOP nominee traveled this week to Colorado, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, holding town hall meetings to talk about the economy.
"More than 400,000 Americans have lost their jobs since December, and the rate of new job creation has fallen sharply," McCain said in his radio address. "Americans are worried about the security of their current job, and they're worried that they, their kids and their neighbors may not find good jobs and new opportunities in the future. It's a big problem when gasoline, food, and other necessities of life carry the price tag of luxury goods, and that's what it feels like to millions of Americans."
"I have a plan to grow this economy, and it starts with getting a handle on the cost of gasoline and regaining America's energy security," McCain said. "I believe we should immediately suspend the federal gas tax for the remainder of the summer driving season. We also have billions of dollars of oil in the United States, and vast reserves of natural gas as well. So we must commit to producing more of both, to send a message to the market and trigger lower prices for oil and gas."
Meanwhile, a new ad by Democratic rival Barack Obama accuses McCain of "making stuff up" about Obama's proposed policies on taxes. The campaign responds to a Republican National Committee radio ad that says Obama would raise taxes on Americans who make $32,000 a year.
The Illinois Democrat says he would only raise taxes for Americans who making more than $250,000. Actors in Obama's advertisement compare McCain to Bush and Karl Rove.

I wonder if McCain will flip-flop during his radio address's like he does everywhere else?.....I doubt it, his radio "address's" will probably just consist of pre-recorded, Karl Rove approved, "Maverickness".
The question no reporter bothers to ask of McCain.. is this: "On all these issues where you maintained one stance and now support the completely opposite stance, 1) how is that straight talk?, and 2) on each of these positions - were you lying then or lying now, because it seems like you're just tacking to the politically expedient answer, which seems to show you not as a maverick, but as a lemming?"

Phil Gramm just exposed to Americans what McCain thinks of poor and middle class working people in this country. Phil Gramm thinks that if you are not rich then you are a fat whiner and McCain thinks all of your economic problems are "psychological". LOL and Phil Gramm is McCains economic advisor. Phil Gramm wrote McCains economic policy.

The McCain rallies apparently are embarrassing for their small turnout.
So, he's retreating to the AM band?

McCain might as well do radio addresses in his campaign.
It's the only Saturday radio address he'll ever have a chance to do.

Too bad Obama won't face McCain at the town hall meetings. I would very much like to see if he can think on his feet.

Many people still listen to radio, and they can over the internet. So maybe it is not a backward idea.
"Uncle" Obama will raise taxes on his "Rich Elite Fools" who support him with their Louis Vuitton check books.
After he has cleaned out their bank accounts he will get to the rest of us

Obama can not think on his feet! He seems very insecure when made to answer a random question. That is why you raqrely see him attempt it. All he does is ERAH-erah studder-studder! Sounds like one of the farm workers from the old days! Also I would like to have the firms from Wall Street, that offered him all those High Dollar Jobs when he got out of school that he turned down, step forward and confirm his claim!

Dave...I suspect with all the excitement of the recent polls showing a tie at 46% you must of forgotten about the "Messiahs'" flip flopping recently. You can rest assured most Americans with a modicum of intelligence have not. You need to stay away from the Kool-aid Dave and read a little more, it's turning your brain to mush. As a fully recovered liberal i know there is one certain in the Democratic party, they will drink from the same cup of poison every election cycle, this one will be no different. It will be Nobama in '08 !
The list of issues on which Barrack
Obama has flipped now that the primaries are over is long and growing rapidly.
- He says he believes in a Second Amendment right to bear arms.
- He now opposes late-term abortion.
- He suddenly is a devotee of using faith-based institutions to deliver public services.
- He now says that he won’t raise Social Security taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 a year. In the primary, he said he’d eliminate the threshold entirely, including on people making as little as $100,000.
- He recently opposed the Fairness Doctrine for talk radio.
- Now he says he’s going to consult with the military before pulling out of Iraq.
But so extensive a list of flip-flops, all in the past few weeks, begs the basic question: Was he lying before when he was a liberal, or is he prevaricating now?

Notice how the Swamp writer, in an article about McCain, gives Obey-me space for instant rebuttal of what McCain said, whereas the next article, on Obey-me, is ALL Obey-me with no Republican rebuttal?
This is what we readers have come to expect from the Obey-me Campaign Newsletter.

The Republicans couldn’t have been serious when they decided McBush should head their ticket.
I mean, come on, I’m beginning to think my coffee table could get more votes for President than McCain in November.
Neonut warmonger McCain sets new record: 10 flip-flops in just two weeks.

That John McBush even has any supporters is a surprise to me - the man is dangerous (he can't remember anything) and he changes his speechs to fit the crowd. He's a panderer, and now he's using his POW "stories" to try and sway voters.
McCain and his POW stories... Rudy Guiliani and his 9/11 stories.... Romney and his "I saved the olympics stories".... etc. etc.
Is this all the Republican Party has to offer? Sure it is, and it's all bad.
"During this past week: McCain called the most important entitlement program in the U.S. a disgrace, his top economic adviser called the American people whiners, McCain released an economic plan that no one thought was serious, he flip flopped on Iraq, joked about the deaths of Iranian citizens, and denied making comments that he clearly made -- TWICE. All this and it is not even Friday! Yet watching and reading the mainstream press you would think McCain was having a pretty decent political week, I mean at least Jesse Jackson didn't say anything about him."

I love it when the already demoralized Republic Party minions start thumping their chests over a stupid poll only to have the rug pulled out from under them all over again.
Just as Obama ahead by 15% was an outlier so is this poll.
Obama is ahead 5-8%. But as we all know, it isn't the head to head general election matchup that is important but the state to state polls and Obama is doing well there.
Just read an article that the Dem registration in Florida went way up from Jan-May by over 100,000 votes compared to the GOP voter registration.
The bottom line is the Dems are enthused and the GOP is not. If Obama just splits the Indies than he will win this election.
The latest Gallup poll (July 11) has Obama with a 6 point lead that's growing.
I expect Obama's lead to grow even more the next time there's a round of polling because of the weeks worth of gaffes McCain just had (Phil Gramm, the economy etc)

What's even funnier is, that's all they have - flip flopper. What a hoot the repuglicans are. They cannot make this stick for the next five months, especially since mcasme flip-slops every ten minutes.
