The Swamp

by Jill Zuckman

Sen. John McCain's campaign has a new television ad called "Love," contrasting the hippy-dippy Summer of Love in the U.S. with his imprisonment in Hanoi and refusal to go home early without every other prisoner of war.

The ad is part biographical and part contrast with Sen. , taking swipes at Obama's "Hope" slogan, as well as his talent for speechmaking.

"He believes our world is dangerous, our economy in shambles.
John McCain doesn't always tell us what we "hope" to hear.
Beautiful words cannot make our lives better.
But a man who has always put his country and her people before self, before politics can.
Don't "hope" for a better life. Vote for one."

but words CAN make our lives better. the only way we're going to reverse the disastrous course we're on is if everyone chips in and gets active. inspiring words create that action. the president cannot single-handedly fix everything that's wrong with our country. the president must inspire action in we, the people. great leaders are great inspirers. obama is a great inspirer and will create great action. mccain is as inspiring as a doorknob, and will create little to no action. it's not even going to be close.

Nice ad with a clever jab at Obama, but one inaccuracy is glaring. It says something about McCain always putting the country before politics, which is blatantly false. The biggest disappointment in McCain is that he caved in to Bush frequently in the last 4 years just to stay in the good graces of the party.

This just cements McCain as the dour and angry candidate. Very strange ad when the campaign is trying to get past McCain's "old" image.

Oh, and he doesn't believe the economy is in shambles. So why is that in the ad?

OH wait!! I thought McSame NEVER exploited his military service for political reasons?? What a trollop!

November can't come soon enough to put McCain in the White House and end Obama's push to transform America into a weaker, socialist nation. Does comrade Obama even believe in individual property rights? Obama's incompetence and arrogance is a dangerous combination.

Why do they give America a female gender? Republicans think women should be dependent and stand silently beside their husband and should be forced by the government to give birth to children conceived as a result of rape or incest. Their party platform even says they want traditional marriage to return to America....the traditional marriage whereby women were their husband's property.

McCain doesn't talk about hope because he's to busy telling us about what he loves.....WAR:
