What's it like to have round-the-clock press coverage?

says it's taking a little getting used to, but that he takes comfort in the fact that, after hours, there's just not that much to see.

For many months, of course, the Democratic presidential candidate could hardly sneeze in public or frolic on the beach without somebody broadcasting or writing about it.

Then everything got ratcheted up yet another notch recently when reporters began round-the-clock watch of the presumptive nominee, meaning it's not just the nosy neighbors who know whether Obama wears a bike helmet or what Michelle Obama wears to dinner.

"I will need adjustments," Obama said Saturday, as he tries to get used to "not being able to go take a walk somewhere without having a big fuss."

Still, he said, he's going to try and pretend like the cloud of witnesses isn't there.

"We are trying to do the same things that I have done in the past," Obama said, though it means "having reporters present when I am going with Michelle on a date or take the kids on a bike ride."

"Fortunately," he said, "Michelle's and my life have been sufficiently boring that most of the things we do are not particularly press-worthy anyways."

Yep, when there's no teleprompter in front of him, Oprahma is a crashing bore.

The big tadoo--it goes away. Ask Al Gore.

One wouldn't gain that impression if one were to read, what shows up in the papers, daily. Senator Obama is always having his words turned around on him. It is really unfortunate for our nation, that the Republicans have nothing to offer, but attack, attack, attack, Senator Obama's positions, on a multitude of issues!! That is why, there is some accuracy to the charges that a McCain Presidency would, indeed, be a continuation of the Bush policies of the last eight years. That would be a continuing disaster for America, especially for the working and middle class and, last but not least, for American women. Senator Obama is the only real way out of this Republican disaster !!

MJ--why so nasty? Wanna vote for MctorturewarbadeconomySame--then do so.

Obama is stating the obvious. He is a normal guy from a normal background, just like me. And honestly, most everything I do during the day is a little boring too.

Stupid press coverage and stupid republican attacks only work if people are stupid enough to let it make them vote for bad guys who want to hurt their lives. Never forget this simple fact: They sold you Dubya Bush.

I agree with everything Don Fitzgerald just said above me. Whatever comes out of Barack lately is being spun and twisted by the McBush campaign and his BFF's (the media). They literally give him a pass of everything, as opposed to if Obama says something it goes on and on for days.

Sometimes you even wonder if McBush is EVEN running for potus, he's hardly mentioned in the news....which if they didn't consistently attack Obama on every issue would be a boon for us.

What a shame! Essentially ordinary people, as opposed to the privileged types who spend half their time telling us how ordinary they are.Two people who brought themselves up from pretty much nothing to the point where the Conservatives can almost get away with calling them elitist.

Of course McCain is in trouble, he's an endangered species...a Republican.
