The Republican National Committee has come up with a parody of what a German advertisement in support of Sen. Barack Obama might look like, complete with techno background music and photos of David Hasselhoff.
The video, released today, features unscripted man-on-the-street interviews with Obama's fans in Berlin who repeat common words and slogans associated with the campaign, such as, "Yes we can" and "Change." The video flashes a few shirtless photos of that former Baywatch star. It also includes a man who thinks Obama is like Che Guevara, and ends with the Illinois Senator as Leonardo DiCaprio on the bow of the Titanic, proclaiming, "I'm the king of the world."
The advertisement mocks Obama's appeal in Europe, following his trip last week to Berlin.

The RNC obviously has way too much time on their hands to be wasting time with such dribble! Man I cant wait for the debates!

Wow, I can't belive how desperate the Republican Party is these days. No wonder they can't fundraise anymore when they spend money on garbage like this. Do the Rethugs think they're going to be able to "swiftboat" their way to another election "victory" and no one is going to notice that electing McCain would be like getting a third term of Bush?

Republican National Committee is out of touch with the mood of our voters.
Issues We care About!
The neoconservatives and the Bush administration should be held accountable not only for the cost of the Iraq War but the 492 billion dollar deficit.
- Part of the cost are the 30,000 USA Troops wounded.
-Start laying the groundwork to move the the US away from oil dependency.
As soon as the 2008 election is over The Republicans will start running for the next elections in 2010 and 2012. This is the reason gridlock doesn't help this country.
The Republicans as a group should "pay a price" for the Gridlock.
Those that work together with the Democrats to end the mess that the neoconservatives created should be courted.
Vote Democrat in '08

Why can't McCain put out any positive messages about himself? Why does everything have to be so negative? Don't you think people get sick and tired of the negative ads?

The Republican party has officially given up on the idea of selling the attributes of its own candidate.
Posted by: Quippy | July 29, 2008 5:39 PM
This is the best they can come up with? I suppose when your party policy is to hire loyal incompetents, results like this are no surprise.

OK, team Obama, the RNC just called your guy a Marxist and equated him with Che Guevara.
Never mind flashing Hasselhof on the screen.
What they said was he's a Marxist and is like Che.
So, whadda you going to do about that?
The swift boat is about to leave the dock.

Re. "And what can you tell me about yours. I mean really. Not the usual slogans but in terms of real achievements as a public servant?"
Here's a little bit of Obama's U.S. Senate record (from wikipedia):
Partnering with Republican Senators Richard Lugar of Indiana and Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, Obama successfully introduced two initiatives bearing his name. "Lugar–Obama" expanded the Nunn–Lugar cooperative threat reduction concept to conventional weapons, including shoulder-fired missiles and anti-personnel mines. The "Coburn–Obama Transparency Act" authorized the establishment of www.USAspending.gov, a web search engine launched in December 2007 and run by the Office of Management and Budget. After Illinois residents complained of waste water contamination by a neighboring nuclear plant, Obama sponsored legislation requiring plant owners to notify state and local authorities of radioactive leaks.A compromise version of the bill was subsequently blocked by partisan disputes and later reintroduced. In December 2006, President Bush signed into law the "Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act," marking the first federal legislation to be enacted with Obama as its primary sponsor. In January 2007, Obama worked with Democrat Russ Feingold of Wisconsin to eliminate gifts of travel on corporate jets by lobbyists to members of Congress and require disclosure of bundled campaign contributions under the "Honest Leadership and Open Government Act," which was signed into law in September 2007. He introduced S. 453, a bill to criminalize deceptive practices in federal elections, including fraudulent flyers and automated phone calls, as witnessed in the 2006 midterm elections. Obama's energy initiatives scored pluses and minuses with environmentalists, who welcomed his sponsorship with McCain of a climate change bill to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by two-thirds by 2050, but were skeptical of his support for a bill promoting liquefied coal production.

OK, since the swiftboaters are coming out, here's one atcha:
Was McCain wet-starting his engine on the deckof the Forrestal in 1967, trying to "flame out" the pilot in linoe behind him, setting off the fire that killed 131 sailors?
(After graduating 4th
from the bottom in his class and crashing 4 jets?
How's that for "experience"?

Some closeups of the crowd would be revealing. The Obama campaign admitted that it met with the usual left wing anti-American groups and arranged with them to leave their "hate America" signs at home, instead handing them Obama signs. Oh yes, Obama has "great" supporters in Europe, the Marxist crowd left over from East Germany. Makes one wonder why they're supporting Bama.

What crap!
Posted by: Susan | July 29, 2008 11:00 PM
Drivel, Blakely. The word is "drivel." Not dribble. Dribble is what Obama wastes too much of his time doing so he can look young, athletic and cool.

If you want to know more about President Obama go to his website like everyone else does. Your opinion is no more important than anyone else's on here and no one on here owes you an answer on anything.
People on here aren't going to do your homework for you, clown.

Have you ever wondered why the Bushies made it a point to devalue (not just the dollar) our relationship with traditional allies? Because they didn't agree with preemptive war. It was not in their plans and the Bush people knew they were not going to back them on it.
Can you name one thing other than that as to why we should not maintain a friendship, what did they do?

I suggest the RNC keep up this negative campaign. It shows their candidate has nothing to offer the American people. Negative works sometimes, but not when thats all they got...

MJ,
To date what is McCain's crowning achievement? Getting captured by the enemy?.....Campaign finance? (Republicans hate that).....Amnesty for Illegal immigrants? (Republicans hate that)....Suggesting we withdraw from Somalia? (that emoldened al-Qaeda didnt' it)....I mean really. Not the usual slogans but in terms of real achievements as a public servant, what is McCain's crowning achievement with all the experience he has?
