An expanding Obama HQ in Chicago: The Swamp

With the existing 33,000 square feet on the 11th floor of a Chicago office building starting to feel like a crowded sweatshop, the campaign headquarters for Sen. Barack Obama is expanding.

On Thursday, the Democratic presidential campaign started moving into an additional 12,000 square feet of space in the same building at 233 N. Michigan Ave., according to campaign spokeswoman Moira Mack. The new space will be used for various activities, including an expanded, seven-day-a-week call center for volunteers.

Mack would not say how many employees are now in Chicago, but a visit to the headquarters earlier this week showed hundreds of people crowded elbow-to-elbow at virtually every available spot of desk space.

It's telling that Mr Grass Roots has office space (and is even getting more!) in one of the the most expensive real estate markets in the nation. It's a better location for keeping in touch with the "Little People" in the oil industry and agribusiness.

Any FISA friendly spy apparatus to keep track of people's blogging?
Obama wanted Hillary to apologize for her war vote (now he wants to go into afghanistan and pakistan instead of HOME like he promised)---when's he going to apologize for the FISA fiasco?

This guy has already started! 45,000 sq ft, the size of a Wal-Mart. He is expanding his campaign staff the way he will expand Gov if elected! We won't have to worry about unemployment if he gets in, WE CAN ALL WORK FOR THE GOV!! Wake up America, this guy is bad news! Check out a few books on the Chi-town coruption! You can quitely change your mind on him the way he changes on everything! We will welcome your vote for the Republican!

Obama's contributors must be happy that he can spend their money on such expensive digs as 233 N. Michigan. And Investcorp International, the Arab-owned and Bahrain based investment firm which owns the property, must be happy to collect cash from such a tenant.

Don't forget your Che posters.

Are you sure there's enough new office space for his ego?

Oh henry...spare us the gas on Chicago corruption. How quickly you forget your REPUBLICAN former governor who is now behind bars. And your buddy McCain is no saint with the Keating Five scandal.

We have to keep our elected officials accountable, no matter what their party affiliation is (which actually seems meaningless, if you ask me). It's an almost impossible, full-time job.

I guess the space needs to expand to accommodate his ego, because it's sure not accommodating his numbers in the polls. He can expand to all the offices in the world, that doesn't change the fact that his ability to pull out ahead in this race is non-existant?

I would love to hear media's reasoning behind this??

That might be drowned out right now by Edwards big omission ha. Love the timing, right as McCain plans to go hard on Obama while Obama is on vacation.....vacation hmmmm, gas prices like they are right now, what IS vacation to the rest of us, we're all busy conserving right now ha ha ha?!

in order to win the latinos u must visit where they work. Example: the beef companies in north tx which they r in the panhandle of tx, the latino registers in amarillo and lubbock areas. By doing this u will have there vote due to so many republicans in that area. That one visit will make a difference in Nov.
