ALBUQUERQUE - Sen. Barack Obama told a small audience inside a public library here this morning that he has a cold.
And when he blamed catching it on his daughters, a woman attending a discussion with the Democratic presidential candidate reminded him that sons spread germs, too.
"The only thing about daughters is that when you hang out with them a lot and they get a cold, somehow they end up passing it off to you," Obama said.
"Not just daughters," responded a woman in the audience, part of a group of about 40 women meeting with Obama on gender pay disparities and other issues.
"That's true for sons, too?" Obama said, acknowledging the gender equity of germs. "Alright, I just want to be clear."
Obama must not be feeling too bad, since he worked out at a gym across the street from his hotel here this morning.
Just to make sure that the women got the point that he is sensitive to their needs, the Illinois Democrat pointed to the gender of the person floating among the audience with the microphone for questions.
"I think it's good, by the way, that we have a man carrying the microphone," Obama said.

Ask these women what they will do when McBush and Evangelicals take there contraception away from them. Their new push? Contraception is abortion.

Am I missing the point here? Obama was somehow being sexist by only talking about daughters? Huh? Hello, he doesn't have any sons, so he couldn't exactly speak to that issue now, could he?
And kaye c., it might be somewhat off topic, but bill r. is not at all getting "carried away". The same people that are opposed to abortion are also opposed to most forms of contraception, including the pill and the IUD not to mention Plan B, because they prevent the fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus. In their view, such forms of birth control equal abortion, which they want to ban entirely.

Obama certainly has cute daughters. Rick Warren Saturday night should have framed his question to Obama as to when he thought his own babies had human rights, rather than babies in general. I doubt that he would have said the question was "above his pay grade." I fully expect that as the good father he is, he would have said it would have been the first time Michelle let him feel the babies kick while still in her womb.

Yeah, bill r., women will fall for that nonsense after the way Obama and his trolls treated Hillary. You all made your bed, now sleep in it - alone.

All you need do is google contraception is abortion and you will see what is in the works with the government already. Not that I would expect sore losers to care about the issues.

Those children of BO's that gave him a cold, I wonder if he could answer when exactly they got their "human rights"?

I believe it was 1964. It just hasn't caught on with all of America yet.

Bill R - Are you saying BO's two daughters that are under 10 years old got their human rights in 1964?
I know you are making a refernce to the civil rights legislation that was passed by the Republicans in Congress and voted against by the likes of Al Gore Sr.

He does NOT know how to talk to females who find it very important that MEN or possible presidents watch their wording out of respect for their female issues that they SAY they are so intuned with. It's right up there with calling that woman SWEETIE. He's a wolf in sheeps clothing but then again he's addressing his SHEEP so what else can he be.

I used to joke that the media fawned so much on Obama that if Obama sneezed, they'd run a story on it.
Guess the joke is now reality.
