ELKHART, Ind. -- After this morning's campaign event here with Sen. Barack Obama, this state's junior senator lingered to shake hands with supporters and graciously took a couple questions from this reporter.
Did you get any quality time with Sen. Obama today?
"We did have a chance to talk a little sports and a little family backstage, but that was completely normal, not political," Sen. Evan Bayh said.
There was no mention from the podium on the speculation that Obama might pick you as his running mate. Why?
"That's not what today is all about," he said. "The fact that he would come here, campaign here, take the time to listen to Hoosiers, I think that shows us a lot of respect and I think that will impress a lot of voters here in Indiana."
Yesterday you said you did not expect an announcement today. How do you feel about the rest of this week?
"I'm the wrong one to talk about that. I literally have no idea what their timing is and that's entirely up to them," he said.
What did you pick up from the body language today?
"I don't know how to comment on that. I'm not an expert on body language," he said.
Still, Bayh is expected to spend much of the rest of the day with Obama, including for a brief stop in northwest Indiana. Maybe he will get a better sense for the body language by the end of the day.

Obama had better not pick this stuffed shirt. Hillary has 18 million supporters (probably MORE) and without her on the ticket we are GONNA LOSE this Fall.

Do we really want a man whose hair looks like a hat to be one heartbeat away from the presidency?

If Obama wants to WIN he needs HRC..Otherwise he will lose to McCain..Simple as that!!!Now that the media has finally decided to give equal scrunity to both candidates Obama will need all the jelp he can get....HRC for VP....

Forget Bayh. He is not strong enough for VP. BIDEN would be strongest and BEST. If I was BHO, I would not want Bill breathing down my neck with Billary as VP.
