President George W. Bush and ex-President George H.W. Bush
by Mark Silva
President Bush returns from the Olympic Summer Games this week to confront something worse than war games between Russia and Georgia, two places where Bush personally has gone to frame the outlines of his "freedom agenda.''
The President will return to the White House on Monday evening. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin already has returned to Moscow. And the U.S. and Russia already have squared off diplomatically over the bloodshed in Georgia.
See the Tribune's photo gallery of Bush at the Olympics, Bush with Putin, Bush with Chinese President Hu Jintao, Bush with Henry Kissinger, Bush with the beach volleyball ladies, Bush with his dad, Bush getting a little help in the bleachers.
The shots here are only samples: Father and son photo by Gerald Herbert, Associated Press, Bush on the beach court photo by Rick Rycroft, AP, Bush getting some Secret Service special service by Thomas Coex, AFP/Getty.

Just more Bush-bashing. At least he kept his zipper closed around those babes, which is more than the Breck girl Edwards did with that "pick-up, no fee" babe in NYC. Dont be so obvious and maybhe someone will believe you..any day now.

Bush at the Olympics is a positive signal of brotherhood at the most international of all events. He should be there and try to get closer to the rest of the world in a non political scenario. Good for him! and sorry for all those who lack respect for their own president.

H-come Bush's drunken in the bleachers photo is not part of the Trib's official photo spread of Bush at the Olympics?

One trick pony Dan really has me thinking now....He's right...I won't vote for him. It seems to have hit him hard, almost jealous, just not sure if it's for Rielle Hunter or the breck girl himself.

I'm confused, how can Edwards be a "Breck Girl" and a "stud" at the same time?
You'd better get your talking points straight! Or the McCain camp doesn't give you any points.

Really, what was The (so called) Decider's problem where he needed four sec. service men to help him out of his average, easy access seat? The four s.s men look pretty intent in the Coex, AFP/Getty photo. I have great respect for the office of The President of the USA. Yet, I have no respect for G. W. Bush--for 4139 reasons. Chimpy--the guy who was selected, not elected. The guy is a loser at the Olympics and a loser any place he steps foot.

Okay, forget about the drunk in chief and the poor secret service agents hoping he doesn't do what daddy did in Japan--what's with the look on Laura's face?
"Oh! My divorce lawyer is gonna love THIS photo! Dallas here I COME!"
It would be funny except for the lies and the genocide.

I am ornery and I approve those photos.
Because they show the First Family of Repuglicanism in a very true light.
Being born on 3rd base and thinking they hit a triple.
The world is their oyster, don't you know?
They and their policies have made possible the rise of China and the diminution of America's industrial base. They're all about the free flow of capital and "free market" theology, are they not?
They've made possible this display in Beijing, so earily reminiscent of Munich in 1936.
That synchronized mass of humanity dressed in red.
Hitler youth had nothing on them.
Is America up to the challenge?
For Bush pere et fil, the display is just another grand entertainment.
Their due.
To the manor born.

Just now looking at that picture of George I and George II it has dawned on me that this country has had to endure 12 years of Bush.

Photo captioning contest, redux:
1. "Look! It's like that penguin movie. Wonder why they're all dressed in red?"
2. "Why can't I just be a cheerleader??"
3. Laura to self: "OMG, do they really think they're going to throw George into the mosh pit??"

These are great photos. Thanks for running them. And here I thought the media were ignoring the president. He and his family and all the Olympians look like they're having a fun time.

Did anyone else see this? I have to say, there was a scene over the weekend that was just precious. 3 US women gymnasts (I think it was gymnastics, I could be wrong on the event) swept the 3 medals. With the girls posing for pictures in front of former president Bush's box, one of the girls had tears streaking down her face. The elder Bush pulled out his hanky and handed it to the girl. I couldn't help but smile. It is one of those "Olympic moments" that you hope for.

I enjoyed the photo gallery. People said Putin and Bush were sitting together really talking it up hmmmm, not in that shot ha. The ribon cutting with Bush Sr was so funny. I loved the shot of Bush with the dry hand print on his back after he got wet. Nice work!
