The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is embarking on dual bus tours in advance of the Denver and St. Paul political conventions, officials are announcing this morning.
Called the "VoteforBusiness Bandwagon," the buses will promote the Chamber's endorsements of House and Senate candidates around the country and stop by state fairs and sports events to register voters and encourage people to vote.
"The results of this year's election will have an enormous impact on the competitiveness of our country's businesses and workers," said Bill Miller, the U.S. Chamber's senior vice president for political affairs and federation relations and the national political director. "Through these tours, we're setting out to build member awareness about how policy issues in Washington impact millions of Americans' jobs."
The first bus leaves from Atlanta August 8th and will drive through Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, California, Oregon, and Montana before arriving in Denver for the Democratic convention.
The second bus leaves Washington, D.C. on August 14th, heading to Virginia, Maryland, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois before reaching Minnesota for the Republican convention.
