Hillary Clinton is hosting a string of campaign events in the lead-up to the Democratic national convention -- her first solo appearances on Barack Obama's behalf since she lost the race for the Democratic nomination to him earlier this summer.

Clinton will take part in rallies and voter registration events this Friday in Las Vegas, and then again in Florida on Aug. 21.

Since Obama and Clinton appeared together at their post-primary "unity event" in June, the two have been making nice on the fundraising front. Clinton has been raising money for the presumptive nominee, and he in turn has been urging people to help the former first lady close out her campaign debt.

But just as folks are wondering who the vice presidential running mate might be, in advance of the nominating convention the end of this month, Clinton will be out asking voters to support her former rival.

"We are very honored to welcome Sen. Clinton to our state," Obama's Florida director Steve Schale says in a written statement today. "She is a hero to many Americans and we are humbled that she would come help us."
