Sen. Barack Obama's campaign has a new director of communications for Illinois to manage media requests in the presidential candidate's home state. Justin DeJong is taking a leave from the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce to take the job.
In recent years, DeJong has served as a spokesperson in the administration of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, including communications director for the Governor's Office of Management and Budget, communications director for the Department of Central Management Services, and communications manager for the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
Before joining the Blagojevich administration in 2004, DeJong also worked at Chicago-based Peoples Energy Corp., Jasculca-Terman and Associates, and Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley's press office.

Perfect. The former spokesman for the most corrupt, inept governor Illinois has seen in decades is now working for America's most famous Chicago Machine hack!

Other than the reporter and De Jong himself, who cares that some Blago flunky has become an Obama flunky?

I actually feel sorry for this poor slug if he's had to try and put a good face on the corruption of Blagojevich and Daley. He'll fare little better with Obama, who has stood idly by and endorsed Daley and Blagojevich flunkies while our city and state became even more of a mess.

A new spokesman for Obama? Is he anything like Cass Sunstein, the University of Chicago behavioral scientist who is a consultant to the Obama campaign? And his colleague, Richard Thaler, who has called most humans more Homer Simpson than Mr. Spock (which I dont disagree with). But if you want to learn more about these guys, and Obama and McCain, read this here.

This does make you wonder if his Illinois connections are a good thing. I guess the guy must be pretty good if he could help Blagojevich stay around. We will see if this moves the http://www.BOP-O-METER.com. Obama's total is hovering just below 250,000.
