Obama goes snorkeling.jpeg

In the news-free zone that a vacationing Sen. Barack Obama has established in Hawaii -- save for those $1.3 million he raised at a Honolulu hotel fundraiser the other day -- the photo desk continues to buzz with a stream of random snapshots.

We have seen Obama wearing the blue ball cap of his alma mater, the Punahou school.

His Republican rival, Sen. John McCain, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and 22-year veteran of the Navy, has campaigned a lot lately in a Navy ball cap -- he wore it to the straw bale-staged "soapbox'' of the Iowa State Fair the other day. It's a good sun-shield.

Here, the capped Obama is captured in motion with Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann arriving at the Hanauna Bay Nature Preserve to go snorkeling today.

We're waiting for the snorkel snapshot.

Good grief! He not only flip-flops, he wears flip-flops, how appropriate!

What has he flipped on? I'll admit he's refined a few positions, but outright reversals? No way. For a complete list of John McCain's reversals, please see this article-

Okay, so everyone who skewered Bush for his vacation pre-world crisis can apologize now....right?

This vacation is definately not helping Obama's BOP COUNT at the new instant on-line poll at http://www.BOP-O-RAMA.com. His BOP total is climbing fast going over 200,000 ealier today. Is this vacation TOO much of a photo op?

Well, Chicagoan, I am glad you have adopted Obama's own language with reference to his changes in position, showing you have fallen into True Believer syndrome.

The way Obama nuances his positions, he can say anything and it can always be a "refinement." ONE example: drilling. Complete reversal. That's just one.

Even Politifact (which I think tilts to Obama) finds that both Obama and McCain have performed major reversals in policy. Honestly, do you think you would allow Bush to say that he was always "refining" his policies without laughing?

My god this is too easy! Here's just a few:
> Public campaign financing.
> NAFTA (multiple flip-flops on a single issue.
> Ending the War in Iraq
> The Patriot Act
And many more I don't feel like typing. Here... I found these in a 10 second Google search. Read up:

The Swamp should be praised for the above article. It is insightful, intellectual, and thought provoking.

I look forward to more hard-hitting, probing articles on Obama's hat, on His flip-flops, on his shorts, on His shirts, in fact every article of clothing He wears.

Obama supporters need to let the swing voters know that the reason McCain is who he is and where he is, is because of who his father and grandfather were and who he married. As the son and grandson of four-star U. S. Navy admirals, John McCain was very privileged. He attended a private prep school.

Even though John McCain was a very poor student, he was admitted to the U. S. Naval Academy. Even though McCain was a very poor student at the Academy, he graduated—fifth from the bottom of his class of 899 cadets.

Even though John McCain had a very poor academic record, he was admitted to the Navy flight school. Even though John McCain crashed and destroyed three naval aircraft and it was clearly his fault, he was not grounded because his father was a four-star Admiral.

Even though John McCain was still legally married to his first wife Carol, he applied for a marriage license to marry his second wife Cindy Hensley and they were married five weeks after his divorce from Carol.

Cindy Hensley, who is now Cindy McCain, is the sole heiress to a beer industry distributorship. Cindy McCain has a net worth of greater than
$100 million. John and Cindy McCain own eight private homes. Most of them are worth several million dollars each.

How many of your friends own more than two non-rental homes? Probably none. How many of you or your friends wear $520.00 shoes? John McCain does. McCain’s favorite shoes are a pair of Salvatore Ferragamo “Pregiato Moccasins.” What do $520.00 shoes do that $75.00 shoes won’t do? Like most of the readers, I’ve never worn or even tried on a pair of $500 shoes.

How many of you and your friends own a private jet airplane like John and Cindy McCain? Probably none.

Chicagoan, call it whatever you want. Flip Flop, Waffle, Back and Forth, Up and Down, Now I do Now I don't. It all comes out the same, yes, maybe, no!

So, coming from a privilaged family makes him un-electable. Gee we should have known that when we elected John Fitzgerald Kennedy. I never realized that being poor from and underprivilaged family was the criteria for becoming President. Is that written somewhere in the Constitution?

Lotsa good points, Kirk--but if your FEET HURT--the shoes ARE expensive (but I don't think McSame is buying Mephistos or other therapeutic shoes--it's all about glitz with him.

All of you Chicago people, did you notice the bag - Macy's. Remember, they bought out Marshall Fields - eliminated Chicago jobs - dumped Frango mints.

Besides being a POW, which we hear INCESSANTLY about...can someone point out some instances where McCain has shown his concern for the less fortunate..., or does he only worry about his RICH associates???...at least he's WALKING around!!! What about the 58,000 who never came home??? People, if you can't see that this PERSON is a war monger, you must be as blind as a bat!!!

John McCain has never ever changed hiis position on any issue. He is completely consistant. You maty think he changed his position on public financing when he pulled out of the system after already enrolling during the primaries, but you'd be wrong. You might think he changed his position on the Bush tax cuts, voting against them, and now insisting that they must be permanent, but you'd be wrong. You might think he changed his position on lobbyists in politics, calling them part of an "Iron triangle" destroying american politics, but then hiring the biggest lobbyists for his campaign staff, but you'd be wrong.

The reason you are wrong is this: McCain has only one position. That position is to do whatever it takes to advance hn McCain. He never flip flops on that principle. He'll sacrifice every other position to make sure he becomes President.

Republicans don't need to make fun of Obama, he's doing a fine job of it all on his own, thank you very much.

How about FISA? Are you seriously going to try to argue that he "refined" his policy on that?

Terry:

Did Marshall Field's ever have a store in Hawaii? If not, WHAT'S YOUR POINT?
