Davide Axelrod, senior adviser to Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign took after Republican vice presidential nominee today and the Republicans naturally didn't like it.
This is from an Associated Press story:
Earlier in the day Obama's top strategist, David Axelrod, dismissed the Alaska governor's convention speech as dishonest about Obama's record.
Axelrod told reporters aboard Obama's campaign plane that the Republican National Convention speakers had distorted the Democratic candidate's record and ignored his resume. He also suggested that John McCain's running mate was only parroting what she'd been told.
"There wasn't one thing that she said about Obama or what he's proposing that is true," Axelrod said. "She tried to attack Sen. Obama by saying he had no significant legislative achievements. Maybe that's what she was told."
To which, Jill Hazelbaker, a spokesman for the McCain-Palin campaign responded:
"Governor Sarah Palin last night talked about her record, her vision, and the choice that America has in this election. For the Obama campaign to suggest that she is simply being told what to do is offensive and takes our country backward. It is clear that the Obama campaign doesn't have much experience with candidates who do more than read speeches and echo talking points. Perhaps that explains their inability to cope with Governor Palin's record of reform and accomplishment."
Steel yourself for two more months of this.
