Westminster, Colo.--As Wall Street reeled from the failure of the House's first vote on the bailout package today, Barack Obama rushed to reassure investors and called on Congress to get back on track.
"There are going to be some bumps and trials and tribulations, and ups and downs, before we get this rescue package," Obama told the crowd at a local high school, moments after word of the vote spread through the gymnasium.
"Things are never smooth in Congress," he said. "It will get done."
Obama delayed his appearance while he talked to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Congressional leaders, aides said.
After taking the stage, he publicly urged members of Congress to get the package passed quickly -- but also to recognize that the work won't end there.
"We have more to do to make sure that Main Street is getting the same kind of help that Wall Street is getting," he said.

San Fran Nan sure knows how to make friends when she's trying to court a vote - Not! Everytime this woman opens her mouth she offends someone.

"For two weeks, I was on the phone every day" with Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Congressional leaders, Obama told host Bob Schieffer. "I was pushing very hard and involved in shaping those provisions."
This was Obama trying to take credit when the bailout seemed to get approved.
But now that it fails, will Obama take the blame for its failure himself? Somehow, I doubt it.
Obama is a fraud and it shows.

Its because of these partisan attitudes that the people above hold that helped America get into this rut. Its this partisanship has weakened the ability of our leaders to lead and eroded confidence in America at a time where we must stand resolute and united to solve the dire future issues at hand. We must realize that attacking one another does not solve the issues at our forefront

Credit Default Swaps are the death knell, here. They went from $1 Trillion to $62 Trillion on Bush's watch. Blame Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley and proponents for "self regulation" for that. Now what?

America is a corporatocracy. People have been warning about special interest over the country's best interest for years. Greed and short-sighted policy brought us to this point. See y'all in the soup kitchen where we'll have much to cry about.

You Republitrolls should learn to show some respect to your betters.
Barack is going to take on the role FDR played in 1932, so be nice to him.
All parties better pay attention to Roubini.
Also, Nancy Kaptur had some very good things to say last night on the Floor.
Well, there was once a Great Depression.
And along came FDR.
Who led the people out of the Depression.
And led them to victory in World War II.
And laid the foundations for the ascendancy of America in the 20th Century.
Then after a period of great prosperity, there arose new Pharaohs who knew not Joseph.
Paulson
Bernanke
Bush.
Greenspan.
And oppressed the people of America.
Until a new Moses was ordained to lead them out of Egypt, land of the Bushites.
He was called Barack......
You can figure out the rest.
