The Republican National Convention tonight will pick Arizona Sen. John McCain as its presidential candidate and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, will speak at the gathering in St. Paul.
In Washington, lobbyist Jack Abramoff is set to be sentenced in his influence-peddling case.
Immigrant rights activists are protesting the recent arrest of hundreds of workers in raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
