When Civil Rights-hero and congressman John Lewis warned the McCain-Palin campaign over the weekend that their attacks were creating a supercharged climate which raised the threat of violence, we assume these were the sort of threats now aimed by ACORN were among the things he was worried about.
Here's an excerpt from a story by McClatchy Newspapers' Washington bureau:
WASHINGTON -- An ACORN community organizer received a death threat and the liberal activist group's Boston and Seattle offices were vandalized Thursday, reflecting mounting tensions over its role in registering 1.3 million mostly poor and minority Americans to vote next month.
Attorneys for the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now were notifying the FBI and the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division of the incidents, said Brian Kettenring, a Florida-based spokesman for the group.
Republicans, including presidential candidate John McCain, have verbally attacked the group repeatedly in recent days, alleging a widespread vote-fraud scheme, although they've provided little proof. It was disclosed Thursday that the FBI is examining whether thousands of fraudulent voter-registration applications submitted by some ACORN workers were part of a systematic effort or isolated incidents.
Kettenring said that a senior ACORN staffer in Cleveland, after appearing on television this week, got an e-mail that said she "is going to have her life ended."
A female staffer in Providence, R.I., got a threatening call from someone who said words to the effect of "We know you get off work at 9," then uttered racial epithets, he said.
McClatchy is withholding the women's names because of the threats.
Separately, vandals broke into the group's Boston and Seattle offices and stole computers, Kettenring said.
The incidents came the day after McCain charged in the final presidential debate that ACORN's voter-registration drive "may be perpetrating one of the greatest frauds in voter history" and may be "destroying the fabric of democracy."
McCain's comments provoked a response from ACORN.
"I would not say that Senator McCain is inciting violence," Kettenring said, "but I would say that his statements about the role of this manufactured scandal were totally outlandish. We would call on Senator McCain to tamp down the fringe elements in his party."

No one is buying McCain's Ayers/ACORN crap. The fact that McCain brings this up over and over just proves that he's to incompetent to be president. The polls show the public doesn't give a damn about Ayers/ACORN. They give a damn about who's going to fix the economy and end the mess in Iraq.
Yet, McCain can only say, "Ayers. ACORN. Ayers. ACORN." McCain doesn't deserve to be president. He is disqualifying himself right before the eyes of America.
Also, Faux Noise Channel is busy proving that they're a joke (again) with their hilarious 24/7 Ayers/ACORN "reports".

The Republics are using the ACORN red herring to lay the ground work for a legal attack on Obama's coming landslide in the Supreme Court.
They were handed the presidency once by the Supremes. They are hoping for a redux.

First of all, even thought this blog will never tell you, the Secret Service has found the alleged "kill him" comment to be completely unfounded. So, end of that Obama/media lie. Secondly, it's more than likely that Acorn, who is under federal investigation, would steal their own computers in order to cover up their own crimes. Polls are tightening, Kool Aid kids.

Hey, Bemused, How's that parallel universe working out for you?
The "kill him" comments (more than one) are preserved on video. Can you point to a respectable news source that reports it is a bogus claim? Newsmax, The Washington Times, Drudge, Fox et al, don't count.
The McCain Palin ticket are stirring up hate and subsequent violence. ACORN is a very small player in the big scheme of things, but McCain has put this non-profit at risk with his demonizing language. I hope he can sleep at night.

McCain is a horrible, terrible person dividing this country with lies and fear. His lies are the most horrendous fraud tyo take place in the history of politics. Flat out lies intended to make people think that a normal American man running for president is a secret muslim, terrorist, communist. It's sick beyond belief and McCain's actions amount to treason and he should be punished.
He is inciting violence and hate. People in normal American towns are verbally attacking each other and physical violence is starting to happen as well. I myself have encountered road rage due to an Obama sticker. People are fearful and McCain is preying on that. He must be stopped. This is sick, sick, sick.

Does anyone out there remember the race between Nixon and Kennedy?When then Mayor Daley stole the election from Nixon? The dems will stop at nothing to ensure a win in November. For one I'm sick and tired of their lies and disception. Look how many Democratic governors have gone to prison or have left office in disgrace. In addition to that they are untrustworthy they buy votes with money given to anyone who will be more than happy to cast their vote for whom ever Daley dictates.
