Here's the debate you've been waiting for:
Bob Barr versus Ralph Nader.
The Libertarian candidate for president will face off with the independent candidate for president today in Ohio in an encounter focused on the economy. Pastor Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party's candidate, plans to show up, too.
The debate at the City Club of Cleveland, will be broadcast on the Internet .
It starts at 4:30 p.m. EDT and runs an hour.
C-SPAN also is taping for later broadcast "the first independently-organized debate of the season to include all presidential candidates who have a mathematical chance to win the election,'' as Barr puts it.

These two fellows most definitely need to be heard, if our democracy means anything.
But I thank god Nader is not in a position this year to ruin Obama's chances -- as Nader did for Gore.
Ralph "Unsafe at Any Speed" Nader was once a hero of mine. But in recent decades he's just been a thorn in our collective sides. He needs to realize that standing on principles is not always a wise thing to do.

Yes, why stand for principles? How does Nader "ruin" a Democrat's chances? Honestly? Does he "steal" their votes? If you believe this, than this means that the Democrats own the votes of all liberals and progressives, and the only way they can be removed is by having them taken away by some shady method.
The truth is, the Democrats simply do not hold a progressive platform and haven't for quite some time. As Nader's running mate, Matt Gonzalez very clearly points out, Obama is not progressive, nor does he stand for change.

The only way you can waste your vote is by thinking the Democrats will be different from the Republicans or vice versa. They have no reason to serve their constituents, because we demand nothing of them. We live in the state ruled by those who have come to embody Orwell's point, "The object of power is power."
Let's stop deluding ourselves over rhetoric that means nothing. It's different scents of the same feces. The third parties offer true hope for change, something Obama offers only in empty words.

Had I known earlier, I would have tuned in just to see who each of these guys endorsed: McCain or Obama?
