Look who's getting sentimental.
President Bush, away at his Crawford, Texas, ranch this weekend, where he has spent more than a year of his presidency, in the count by days, stopped off at his childhood home of Midland on Saturday.
"I's an amazing experience to come back to a place where you were raised,'' Bush told reporters traveling with him. "Laura was raised in Midland, I was raised in Midland, this is -- this is one of the three homes I lived in, and I kind of remember it.... The bedroom -- actually I do remember the wood on the wall that -- in the bedroom.
"You know, I love Midland, and Texas. We've got a lot of friends here,'' the president said. "I learned a lot of values that I hold dear here. It's good to see mom's -- Laura's mom here. And it's the first time I've been back here since I've been the president, and it's -- it was just a very heartwarming experience.
"You know, I've told my friends here, I said, you know, I'm not going to change as a person because of politics or Washington -- that's what I said when I left,'' he said. "I think they appreciate that
"I want them to know that, you know, even though I had to deal with a lot of tough issues, that I'm still the same person that they knew before and that, you know, I'm wiser, more experienced, but my heart and my values didn't change.
"So it's great to see our friends,'' Bush said. "You know, we got a couple more hard months to go, and obviously we've got to deal with this financial situation.
"Congress took a big step in the direction of at least giving us the tools necessary to bring some stability into the marketplace. Got to get credit for them of course so that people feel -- feel comfortable about conducting business. So there's a lot of work to be done.
"In the meantime it's good to come back here to where it all started for us,'' Bush said, with a parting joke for the pool. "You're welcome to pay the fee to go in and see the house.''

"his birthplace of Midland"?
I know he likes to POSE as a native Texan, but even his bio on the White House website says that he was born in New Haven, CT. East Coast elitist.

That is the problem with electing a person, such as George Bush, who was totally insincere, totally dishonest with the voters, and had an enormous lack of knowledge concerning, not only international issues, but, especially national issues. He may have learned something on the job, as our President, but, what he learned was wrong for America !! Though, it may have been right for the inept, and in some cases, corrupt, Republican Party !! That will be his legacy, he didn't have a clue and he acted the part !! His bunglings are " homeric " and unfortunately, were disastrous for many American families, both for our families of our Armed Forces and for our families that were victimized by the Financial Corps. His lack of open administrations has led to the selection of ideologues and fanatics, to work in the Agencies and Departments of our government and, in turn, have sabotaged our Government's competency and fair-mindedness. The Republicans did, once they deceived the electorate into voting for them, what the American people never wanted any of our political parties to do !! The Bush-McCain Republicans have let the homeless, the needy, the orphaned, the sick, our Veterans, to fend for themselves, to be deceived by loan sharks, to be gouged by the Oil Corps, in other words, a government that cares more about the Corporations, than it does about us, The People !! That is President Bush's legacy: He was a Corporate Shill !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

Who cares about him anyway? He might as well pack it up and go down to his estate in Paraguay right now.
