The Swamp

by Frank James

Country star Hank Williams Jr. has penned a tune for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin callled "McCain-Palin Tradition."

Williams managed to get in the McCain campaign's talking points, of last week at least, that Obama has "terrorist friends." He also squeezed into the lyrics another Republican message, that the Democrats caused the financial meltdown by pressuring bankers to give loans to helpless bankers.

That's what you call some good old, down home poetic license.

(Hank Williams, Jr., sings on stage before Republican presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain his vice presidential running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, spoke at a rally at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, Monday, Oct. 13, 2008. AP Photo/Carolyn Kaster)

Nothing in there about credit default swaps. Which is too bad since that term has some good rhyming potential: flops, mops, hops (as in beer), just to name a few.

There once was a time when working-class troubadors' songs criticized bankers who took advantage of the little people. Now we have pro-Republican country star lamenting the plight of the put-upon bankers. Only in America.

Anyway, here are the lyrics:

McCain - Palin Tradition
By Hank Williams Jr.

The left wing liberal media have
Always been a real close knit family
But, most of the American People
Don't believe em anyway ya see
Stop and think it over
Before you make your decision
If they smell something
They're gonna come down strong
It's a McCain - Palin tradition

Now this old Union's got problems
That is plain to see
The Democrats bankrupted Fannie Mae N Freddie Mac
Just like 1, 2, 3
The bankers didn't want to make all those bad loans,
But Bill Clinton said you got to
Now they want a bail out, what I'm talking about
Is a Democrat liberal who doo

CHORUS

John N Sarah tell ya
Just what they think
And they're not gonna blink
They don't have terrorist friends
To whom their careers are linked
Yes, John is his own man
And Sarah fixed Alaska's broken condition
They're gonna go just fine
We're headed for better times
It's a McCain - Palin tradition

I am very proud of our country's name
But no society is perfect
And we have had our stains
If I'm down at the coffee shop and
Somebody starts to give our flag friction
We say please move on
Cause we're standing strong
That's an old John McCain tradition

CHORUS

John N Sarah tell ya
Just what they think
And they're not gonna blink
And they're gonna fix this country
Cause they're just like you N ole Hank
Yes John is a maverick
And Sarah fixed Alaska's broken condition
They're gonna go just fine
We're headed for better times
It's a McCain - Palin tradition

Some are bound to tell you I'm
Preaching to the choir
And that is very true
And we are going even higher
Like a mama bear in Idaho
She'll protect your family's condition
If you mess with her cubs
She's gonna take off the gloves
It's an American female tradition

CHORUS

They all want to know Sarah
Why do you hunt
John why do you fish
How could she be so smart and savvy
Such a 'hey good-lookin'' dish
Yes John is his own man
And Sarah fixed Alaska's bad condition
They're going to get it right
We're going to see the light
It's a McCain - Palin tradition

Wow! If Hank Williams, Jr has endorsed the McCain/Palin ticket, I may just have to reconsider which way I'm voting. I had no idea it was possible to fit this much malarkey into a single song - I think I feel lunch coming up. I particularly loved the third-grade rhyming of "fish" and "dish" in the chorus and will overlook the fact that treating the governor of Alaska as a sex object (if done by anybody other than this moron) would be considered sexist. Just sayin...

The hypocricy of the right. They boo "Hollywood" and "performers" claiming they are mindless. But not if they sing their song. Kinda how you're not American unless you subscribe to their every view. Hypocricy is their game.

Sheesh, another great repug.

APRIL 4--Country singer Hank Williams Jr. today surrendered to cops on a warrant charging him with throttling a hotel waitress last month in Memphis. Williams, 56, is facing an assault rap for allegedly choking Holly Hornbeak during a March 18 confrontation in the Peabody Hotel lobby bar. According to a complaint affidavit, Hornbeak, 19, told cops that Williams (full name: Randall Hank Williams Jr.) verbally abused her and made other inappropriate comments during the bizarre incident. The tirade apparently began after a Williams crony asked Hornbeak if she knew who Williams was. When she said no, Hornbeak recalled, the singer replied, "I'm Hank Williams Jr., bitch." After Williams unsuccessfully tried to kiss her, the report states, he "grabbed her by the neck from behind, choking her." The performer turned himself in this morning to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office and was booked for assault to commit bodily harm. He was released without bond and is scheduled for a court appearance tomorrow afternoon. Williams, pictured below in a mug shot snapped today, is the son of legendary singer Hank Williams and is best known for singing the "Monday Night Football" theme "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight."

Yep, it's just like how the right hates on actors, but Arnold was ok, Bruce Willis is ok, Stallone is ok. What's the commonality? Hmmmmm. Oh yeah, actors who agree with us are ok. Everyone else is a left wing nutjob.

Hey DaveK and Bill, Obama is not the messiah, even thought he believes that he and ACORN can raise the dead to vote for him. Why don't you go out and register a few dead with ACORN!!!

Love Hank, and it is so good to hear this fantastic country singer stand up and say G rated things instead of the filth the democrats spew daily.
Liberals hate Sarah because she proves how the right wing folks in America still love our country, and Hank sings a great song no matter what the topic, Thanks Hank, I hope you continue to pour it on baby! Any friend of Hanks is a friend of mine. McCain has my vote and so does Hank, a REAL American Tradition!
McCain ~ Palin 2008

Go Hank, This song has made my day... the truth is sooo good to here... the left-media has made me so sick, I cann't explain how this lifts my spirit.Thank you

The difference between Mr Williams song and the left wing performers is that his redition, is not filled with hate and lies, Ol Hank is filled with truth & justice must be a long standing tradition........But Thats OK because the left will say its all a distraction. Values and responsibity are just a misconception...

great job getting good lookin dish and fish in the same song.

smelly fish

Awww, Jr., say it ain't so! I still love the music but those lyrics are hiarious. I often wonder how the super rich in the Republican party look down their nose at the other half of their base......the rednecks. I wonder how the "chistian" base now views Jr., who is an unrepentant drug user and partier. So many things to think about, one little song.

I think that it's kind of revealing that Jr. chose to overlay these lyrics onto "It's A Family Tradition", a song about his heavy drinking, smoking pot and having sex with a bunch of women. Are these the family values that the Republicans are always going on about?

Hey DaveK and Bill, Obama is not the messiah, even thought he believes that he and ACORN can raise the dead to vote for him. Why don't you go out and register a few dead with ACORN!!!

Posted by: WSAlamo | October 14, 2008 8:50 AM

Way to stay on topic. But since you want to go there.....would that be the same ACORN that McBush said...and I quote....they are"what makes America special"? The rights point with ACORN is just nuts. How do you feel about K-street? I don't really believe in any messiah, but I do believe in living a good life, treating people fairly, which quite frankly, I see little of from the ones who do believe in a messiah.

Hank Williams Jr is awesome and so is this song!

Love it !! Go Hank Go.

McCain/Palin is my choice.

Sarah Palin loves her country? Rubbish. If she really loved this great Nation she would never have used her office as Governor of Alaska to create a video encouraging the radically anti-american successionists at the Alaska Independence Party to "Keep up the good work." If she truly loved her country she would have told those america haters that she would fight their attempts to destroy our union with every breath she had. She didn't . She pals around with radicals dedicated to the destruction of the United States. She has no love for the United States of America, none at all.

Until they unload this bum Monday Night Football pregame and all of the advertising that goes with it are dead to me. Of course Hank is for McCain, he is a millionaire after all.

Dear "ben" who misquoted my post...

Yes, Governor Palin does love this country, she has proven it with her service to it, and her continued dignity and respect for our American Constitution. There are many like you, 'Ben' who do nothing more than spout hate and contempt for the average, hard working people who pay taxes and save, only to be supporting those that stand around looking for hand-outs form government, and i ,along with many millions of other working class people, are frankly very tired of seeing our efforts laughed at and taken advantage of. I think that is what Hank is singing about, the country folks, so many of you liberals call rednecks, if being a redneck means we work hard to make a living on our farms and construction jobs, instead of filling out forms for welfare then i guess i am what some would call a redneck. I made sacrifices, went to college by working part time, and did without a few things in order to get an education and make a better living, I did not think it was an entitlement to get to go to college, I thought it was a privlidge i had to earn...this meant I had to work, an idea lost to the slugs that wait on government to 'help' them. Thanks Ben, for letting me know how very much I am glad I am nothing like you.

Left Wing Media BOO HOO!

When are you people gonna wake up and stop blaming the fact the McCain is losing on the media!

They are losing because Trickle Down Economics has royally screwed the middle class. WAKE UP GROW UP AND QUIT CRYING any rational intelligent human being (i.e. the majority of us) realize we need a change in course.... a POSITIVE change! That is why Obama is winning and the more negative you crazy right wingers get the more ground you will lose.

Some people love America and some don't, it is as simple as that. Hollywood leftists and all other anti-Americans just happen to fall in the Democratic camp. Nothing wrong with that, they have the right to hate America thanks to the rest of us on the Right who love America. Now I see the Chicago newspapers are finally releasing information about Obama'a bigger money connections to the Anti- American afro-centrist groups involved in the Anenberg Challenge.
ha ha just in time for the election to swing back to McCain.

I am certain some left-nut will claim this song is racist or that since he is white and wearing a jersey and a cowboy hat that he must be sending a signal out to all us rednecks who actually work for a living.

Go Hank, give'um hell buddy

(my name is George and I approve this post)

Richard Knapp: That song is full of lies- read the lyrics again. Just because you say it with a smile on your face doesn't make it true and not full of jingoistic hate. There are a handful of supposed facts up there that have already been debunked through places like FactCheck.org.

Country music is an American tradition. Large city residents don't understand or have forgotten the joy that is small town America. Governor Sarah Palin has brought that joy to the Republican ticket.

Love it, Hank! Thank you.

"We're headed for better times
It's a McCain - Palin tradition"

Only a talentless, drunken, has-been moron could have come up with this song. What a surprise, it was Hank Williams Jr. Go fall off some more rocks, you slob. Only this time, find some that are higher.

Here is an analogy for you:

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. 'Since you are all such good customers,' he said, 'I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20.' Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so th at everyone would get his 'fair share?'

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:
The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

'I only got a dollar out of the $20,'declared the sixth m an. He pointed to the tenth man,' but he got $10!' 'Yeah, that's right,' exclaimed the fifth man. 'I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!' 'That's true!!' shouted the seventh man. 'Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!'

'Wait a minute,' yelled the first four men in unison. ëWe didnít get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!'

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

Look, if Onanana wins, you guys who are hammin on about 'change' will indeed see a change, to SOCIALIST type of living. Think about it, what does he have as experience? What kind of values does he have? he talks a good game, has for years, but do you really want to elect somebody who can smooth talk you? Wise up you morons. He is THE MOST liberal senator in HISTORY. He is THE MOST unknown and inexpereinced man ever to run for president of our country. HEED THE WARNINGS. READ READ READ and listen to his vague plans. YES we need a change, but sometimes, Change is FAR WORSE than the known.

Not a very good analogy, Fed Up.

One of the purposes of taxes (besides paying for the day-to-day expenses of the government) is to redistribute wealth, under the concept that the rich are not islands onto themselves. Rather, that they became rich by having the help of many others, and by, e.g., making their fortune through the taking of natural resources (owned in common by all citizens), while most likely only paying a small licensing fee for the right to harvest those resources.

Bill Gates, Sr. says the wealthy should pay the (estate) tax because they owe a special debt. Their riches, he says, would not be possible without a strong society supporting capitalism.

"Most of the things that have generated the enormous advances in our economy are things that started on some campus or in some laboratory," Gates said in an exclusive interview last week. "And most of those are because the government financed it."

I think that everyone here is really making too much out of a simple song. It's ENTERTAINMENT folks, if you like it listen to it, if you hate then DONT! You bleeding heart liberals really make me sick to my stomach. You piss and moan about the state of the Union looking to place blame on anyone but yourself. So what happens when your Mesiah gets in and things go from bad to worse? Who will you blame then? If you hate it here so bad, haul ass to Russia, or North Korea, or better yet, take your opinions to Iraq or Iran. I'm sure you'll recieve an open arms welcome from those folks. Just dont "lose" your head over all the hospitality...:-)

Jr. has gone over the edge. I guess his facination with McCain/Palin is because he may be the only one that understands what the hell they are talking about. I won't be listening to his music anymore. Because if I did I could only think of his ignorant support of their ticket. He started slipping when he started buddying around with the loser Kid Rock. Hanks losing it and those close to him should find him some serious help. His Daddy would kick his ass if he was still with us.

Who will you blame then? If you hate it here so bad, haul ass to Russia, or North Korea, or better yet, take your opinions to Iraq or Iran.

Ken.....attention: this is a political blog. If this was lime wire, I could see your point. If you want to be real, then there are plenty on both sides trying to place blame. I served this country in Nam.....so I feel not only do I have a right to state my opinion, I have a duty. But if you want to move me....bring a lot of friends tough guy.

When did I spout contempt and hate for the average hard working people? You're darned right I spouted contempt for the radical anti-americans in the AIP, but I certainly don't consider them averavge Americans. I reject their destructive successionist doctrine, as any person who loves the United States of America does. Sarah Palin apparently does not. I would never do anything to show support for their work or their party. Sarah Palin did.

Your rant against your fellow citizens who are assisted by government aid programs really has nothing to do with the issue, other than to reveal your own contempt for your fellow Americans. You may feel contempt for the single mom struggling to raise a child who despite working a full time job who needs to get food stamps to help feed her child. I do not. You may feel contempt for the laid off steel worker who needs unemployment benefits to get by while he looks for a job in the ever shrinking industrial sector. I do not. You may feel contempt for the disabled person who survives on their Social Security disability benefits,. I do not. I know those are all my fellow Americans, and because I do love this country I will not turn my back on them and their needs. I will value them and support them, unlike you who cannot hide your anger and hate of them.

I'm not goiung to take lectures on loving this country from you or Gov. Palin. I seriously doubt either one of you really understand what loving your country and it's citizens mean.

Cheer up libs. Have our tax dollars subsidize another showing of Serrano's "Piss Christ" or Mapplethorp's whip protruding from his rectum to cheer you up. Now there's something the Dems can rally around!

Hollywood is full of fruitcakes who live an alternative lifestyle in a parallel universe. They vastly support Dems, like lawyers, reporters and "intellectuals." Seeing a song like this is akin to having a newspaper editorial come out in support of a Republican candidate or conservative ideal. Dem Dems can't handle it. It's like Hank broke the code or something.

Fedup is exactly right, jcswaycee. Why should anybody that breaks their back to work and realize "the American Dream" have to support those that leach off the system? Business owners pay taxes and their employees, why should they have to be taxed to death to provide more? The only rights we are guaranteed in the Constitution are the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. So, get up off your liberal butt and go to work.

Well actually it is more than entertainment, it is a viewpoint which is being endorsed by a man who is attempting become the president of my beloved United States. And you're right, I don't have to listen to it and I won't, but I also won't keep quiet about how stupid I think it is. Also, what exactly is a "bleeding heart liberal"? Do you know or are you just regurgitating propaganda? That "liberal" tag sounds like the prescribed rantings for the Republican "base" or what I like to call the mindless voting robots. Furthermore the state of the union stinks and I'm mad as hell about it, but I'm not going to "piss and moan", I'm going to vote. And if any of this current predicament was my fault, I would gladly take the blame, but the truth is I had nothing to do with it. And no, sir, I don't hate it here, I love it. I just hate people who think they belong here more than me and if you have a problem with that, why don't YOU leave. You can "haul ass" to any given place in the world where they value idiotic propaganda ranting.

Posted by: Fed Up | October 14, 2008 11:11 AM

Let the rich traitors go. If they don't like it here, let them find another country they think is better. I'm sick of hearing the rich whine and complain about how tough they have it. Let them follow the jobs they sent overseas to China and India. They won't do that now will they. You know why? because this country protects and caters to the rich more than any other. They stay because they know this is by far the best deal they will get. No other country pays the CEO as many times what they pay the average worker as US companies do. Enough with the empty threats. They aren't suffering. They aren't being punished. They are being coddled and spoiled. It's time they pay their fair share for the country which benefits them so much.

way to go hank. best song i have hard for a long time. i wish i could download it i would send nobama and six pack joe a copy.

Hank give the people some facts of life.hell ill buy next round

Hey posters you can take Obama he is all yours no thinking people want to give labors to elitist Obama this man has more bull @@@@ than we can belive in. What a snob Obama is. He is a jerk and a fraud pure and simple. He is for tax hikes including repealing Clinton exemptions for your homes $250,000 or $500,000 for a couple will be one with OBAMA-- you will pay 28% instead of 15 so you will lose if you retire or move. OBAMA bad McCain/Palin good! Jerry White, Springfield, IL

How sickening.....What a sham of a song...Of course he's a Repub...He's filthy rich..

In reference to Bill H.'s October 14'th comment regarding Hank's arrest. In a typical liberal fashion, he failed to mention, that the case went before a Grand Jury, and the case was later dismissed due to a lack of evidence.... Another half truth from the Looney leftest...

Okay Joe " Many facts are being debunked as on fastcheck.com" Do your research. They are a little biased since they do have financial ties with Nobama. Not every thing you hear and see is as it seems.

Chris - "of course Hank is for Mccain he is a millionaire after all"

I suppose you think all the left wing in Hollywood are poor! I guess thats why they vote the way they do because they do not really own multi-million dollar homes, get paid for the movies they star in and Oprah isn't a real person with all that money. And yet so many liberals still say the right wing is for the rich. Wake up people!

I LOVE THE SONG.AFTER MC,CAIN AND PALIN ARE ELECTED I THINK HE SHOULD HAVE A TOP JOB IN THE ADMINATRATION

Hank...You can't get more American than this! Anyone who believes OBama's malarky either can't read or dosen't know what a socialistic society is! Hank...bring er on!!

HANK JR. FOR PRESIDENT!!!

If you want a government that will do everything for you, you need to consider moving to an autocratic society. Thomas Jefferson said , and I paraphrase, "A government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take it all away"
Certainly we need to help those in need, but the obsessive entitlements are creating a society of helpless people, and those of us who work and save so we can lead a better than average life, prefer that the government stay out of our lives as much as possible.
And as for those companies going overseas, they do it because they want to try to stay in business. If our government didn't tax them at such a high rate, perhaps they could stay competitive right here in the good old USA and there would be more jobs created to help improve our over-all economy.
We think it's chic to buy foreign goods, and wonder why our manufacturers are disappearing or moving their operations elsewhere. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!

Always loved Hank, but this song is about as ignorant as the look on Palin's face during a Katy Couric interview....

That beltbuckle is too cool. Shut your faces, all you dems-- stop hating== that means stop thinking your comments about our american culture will cause us to be ashamed of being raised in the backwoods or heartland of this country. You take pride in your, whatever that sets you apart, maybe its your non producing ways, or maybe its the derivative way of life you live by scheming off the backs of the masses, where you ridicule them but must collect a paycheck with the "good ole" people's support. YEAH fo real dough yuppies!!!!

Sad, sad, sad.

If only he had set it to "If the South Woulda Won."

Guess those record sales have really tailed off now, because Hank looks ready for the nursing home/rehab combo.

I used to respect him, but it turns out his talent only went so far, and his ugly politics got in the way.

thanks for the truth the song is great! my cousin is voting 4 the first time in her life and she says its time for change.woman need to wake up because Palin is just who we need to put our country back on its feet!

I have only one comment. We are very quickly headed for a Socialist Society in this country with the "Changes" the Democrat's are proposing. The largest Socialist experiment in history failed. It was called the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic. It lasted 65 years before it collapsed, it killed tens on millions of its own citizens and several million of other countries citizens. It operated on the prinicipal of equality,,,equally sick, equally poor, equally dead or dying. Be very, very sure of what you vote for,,,you just may get it.

Go get them Hank! The crazy left hates it when a celebrity as yourself is a conservative. This is a Great song and really kicks some serious Ass! We need more songs like it to lift us back up from the daily assaults we receive from the extreme media bias in this country. And somebody needs to tell these idiots on the left that Hussein Obama is not the Messiah. And by the way Obama changed his name from Barry to Barack which is the prophet Muhammad's horses name. Pretty scary if you ask me!

HANK IS THE BEST!!! AMERICA WILL REBOUND.
HAVE YOU SEEN OSAMA'S PREACHER I MEAN OBAMA'S.
LOOK UP TIRED OF BEING JOHNNY BE GOOD AND GOING TO BE JOHNNY REB!!!!
MCPAL 08

we need some one who care for the poor class of working an mothers who are raiseing children by them sel f . the fathers have left an dont care to suport them ? I know of a lot of them in reedsport oregon. but they the goverment dont care? all so the older who is 65 and older

Thank you, Hank!!! Now, go talk some sense into Ralph Stanley!!! It is clear that the new media is trying to swing the election in Obama's favor. And it's clear that he was groomed to run for the Presidency after such a short time in the public eye. He's telling you all what you want to hear...just like all politicians do. All of our nation's problems did not start with George W. Bush. You need to vote out a lot of the congressmen and senators that are in there now. I'm sick of all the negativity about Sarah Palin, who hasn't done a damn thing to anyone...she has just as much, if not more qualifications that Barack Obama.
Sing it loud, Hank.....so all of Hollywood can hear!!!

WAKE UP AMERICA...It's time to forget HUSSEIN and vote for McCAIN. McCain is talking from his heart. He is the one that we need to count on to get America back on it's feet. Hussein needs to go back to Bill Ayers and Mr. Wright.

Give 'em hell Hank! I love it! You speak for us plain Jane and Joe the plumber folks --

Hey Both sides have their "colorful" suporters. We must remember we are Americans first. Remember 9/12 when we all came together after 9/11? That is the kind of America we need to be after this election. We all will never agree but we can agree to be respectiful of each others opinions and to be Americans first.

Did anyone notice which side started by calling any opinion that is different from thier own as being ignorant? Did anyone watch the two lead in commercials for Letterman (McCain issues, Obama attacked)? I'm sorry but this song does not attack, it simply supports the McCain/Palin ticket.

I guess democracy, free speech, etc. are truly dying. Actually, the internet and impersonal venue seem to have led to a complete disregard for the type of respect we used to used when dealing with one another.

As for my opinion on tickets, I have not fallen for the hate expressed above for those who have successfully achieved the American dream of success. I do feel that Obama's administration will make it harder to achieve that dream by taxing away the income generated as people move higher up the ladder. If I wanted to live in a socialist society, I have other options--Russia, Holland, and a variety of other countries that are more than happy to tell me how much I can earn, when I can retire, and what health care options I may choose should I get sick. That is not what America has been and it is not what I support so I will vote McCain/Palin.

Now, I have a right to my opinion as do all of your and you may disagree but please do so with facts and opinions but not with name calling as I did not call you ignorant, etc.

I believe you conservatists are wasting your time. I'm sure I heard at least three of the above Obama supporters interviewed on the Howard Stern show the other day. All three said they supported Obama and agreed with him on being pro life, wanted to stay in Iraq until the job was finished and yes they approved of Sarah Palin as his running mate. How can your argue with that

I am sorry to say that after reading the above post it sickens me that our nation has been torn right down the middle. Thanks to the good old boy democrat. and republican 2 party system. We are playing right into the hands of the terrorist , they will take this country if we don't all pull together and unite! We have been in a downward spiral since 911 just what the terrorist ordered. And if you don't thing that they aren;t taking note my friends your sadly mistaken! I have been a master plumber in for 25 + yrs.my bussiness, family, 401k ,property value and savings have all taken a bath the last 8 years. No retirement for me, or for the rest of you ready for retirement . Sorry ,I am mad as hell , we are heading for bigger depression than the last one. !!! Wake up everyone pull together. By the way I am BOB The PLUMBER in Illinois

I love Hank, but...... He is way off mark. Have McCain (aka: captain dementia) explain why after 25 years, he is now going to make a change with a few slander statements and a power abusing hockey mom.

Go Hank, Some people only vote for Obama because of his color. This is not about color or race. Its about values shich America seems to have lost. What happened to disipline in the schools and th home, thats why young people are killing their friends and familie. No morales anymore and not allowed to be taught in the schools or homes because of Dr. Spock who said it was wrong to spank your child and Madeline Mrray who took religion out of the schools. Economy that Penalizes retired people that want to work and put money back in the system but the government says you can't make too much money or we'll take it from your social security now how stupid is that?

I hear a lot about not knowing what Obama will do. I know what is in store with 4 years of McCain. Let me take the unknown rather than what I know of McSame-Failin'

Hank Williams????....Even more reason to vote or Obama.

Those of us who saw Hank in action on the news, WE ARE PROUD YOU ARE STANDING UP FOR OUR RIGHTS TO BEAR ARMS AND THE FREEDOMS WE HAVE IN AMERICA. Just look at the socialist nations, they are still poor, VERY POOR, SURPRESSED AND CORRUPT. Those in charge of the Socialist govt. they are the one WEALTHY! Obama hasnt offered to redistribute his wealth not even to his poor african brother who lives in a straw hut on 20.00 dollars a month, My vote is for McCain

Thanks for being a great American and standing up for America. We love you McCain/Palin song. I use to set on my daddy's lap and watch your daddy on our black and white TV. My wife and I have been to 3 of your concerts. My son is in Iraq, and when he gets back home, this family will see you when you are in the Pensacola FL area. I guess it is just becoming, "A FAMILY TRADITION". God Bless You

Oh, come on, quit crying and pull up your pants. Neither McCain or Bush screwed up anybodys 401K. If you don't understand that than you are ignorant enough to think Barry Obama can fix it for you. GIVE ME A BREAK!!

Hank is right on the money
when you go with McCain&
and Gov palin.

I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH ENTERTAINERS SUPPORTING THEIR CANDIDATES, BUT MR HANK JR WAS SPEWING HATE HIMSELF CALLING OBAMA NAMES AT A RALLY. THEY SHOWED IT ON CNN, HE CALLED OBAMA A TERRORIST AND I CAN REMEMBER SEEING HOW SURPRISED THE ANCHOR LADY LOOKED. HE IS NOTHING BUT A DRUG ABUSING, SEX ADDICTED, BUM.

B.O. ain't NOBODY'S messiah. Take a look at Howard Stern's 'man on the street interview' - they took all McCain's policies and put O.'s name on them - proving that most of the people of color they interviewed are ONLY voting based on candidate's race! Race is NOT the issue, people! EXPERIENCE IS! MCCAIN-PALIN 08!

GO Hank!!!! you are my idol!! The song is true. Even if they do claim racist give them hell! Go McCain and Palin!

God this must be the STUPIDEST song of all time and it figures it would be written like a ignorant 'neck like Williams.

You 'necks like Rebeka in Alabama should enjoy it now because you and the Republican Party are going to be a minor party for a looooong time.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!

Say what you want but there is no doubt Hank Williams, Jr. is a real American and a great C&W legend.

I can't believe a rational U.S. citizen with any critical thinking skills would vote for an admittedly smooth talking liberal socialist who has absolutely no track record of doing anything positive for this country.

Yea, people want change and, if Barak Hussein Obama is elected, watch out. You'll be 80 years old before you can draw social security, will need to wait 10 hours or more to get a broken leg set and inflation will eat up whatever pay raises you may get in the future. In 10 years everyone will be an Obama rich "$250K per year" but a loaf of bread will cost $49.99" and a Ford F-150 pickup, if Ford survives, will cost $300K. But you'll have B. Hussein Obama, the liberal democrat controlled congress and Senate to thank for your good fortune.

I love the way Hank Williams, Jr. has the guts and wisdom to stand up for America and what is right.

I'd like to put this song on my
ipod. Is it possible? This is great!

Way to go hank let the world know that we do not want a socialist running our great usa we need more people to stand up for truth and liberty if you are wealthy its cause you have work hard for it everyone has the same chance to make it in this great country god bless america

I think the song is entertaining. It has a good beat to it and if you noticed in the song, he didn't say he was perfect in it. Sarah Palin is a mom and most moms will do anything to protect their family except for the ones who think that killing unborn children is ok. Of course those people won't support Sarah because she is for the family!!! Thank you "The Swamp" for not posting all liberal views like so many "media" are. (I put media in quotation marks because I don't think they are the media if they just post one side.) I agree with Sarah, I will do anything to protect my family...God wants us to protect our family. We have God first, family, and then friends. I think the government needs to stop NAFTA and get our jobs back over here in the USA where we have the rules and regulations to keep the workers, products, sand environment safe. The companies go over seas for the "cheap" labor but I don't know how they expect us US citizens to live if we don't have JOBS not to mention the products that come over here from foreign countries that are tainted. I will take this country over any other country but we need to concentrate more on America that anything else. Also, if Barack Hussein Obama's family was soooo poor, where did all of his money from and why didn't he use some of that to help people instead of using millions of dollars for a 30 minute commercial on at least 7 different channels that I counted that night? (It was a commercial and we all know that commercials try to get us to BUY things!) I am for McCain and Palin...I believe in family traditions!!! P.S. to DaveK: In the song he sang that she is good looking. I can't think of any woman who would think that is sexist...It is a compliment!!! Better to be called good-looking than to have an effigie of you hanging from someone's roof and being told that that is freedom of speech and not a hate crime!!! I bet if she would be black it would have been different!!! What the heck?

Decent song, but I wrote this for McCain and hoped Hank would sing it before the elections.

Vote No to BO Blues

There’s a man on capital hill
Without the experience or skill
To lead this land.…of the free
He’s a left wing radical can’t you see
He’ll take our pension and 401k
Don’t know what’s next but I’m sure we’ll pay, so

Vote no to BO, Vote no to BO, Vote no to BO
Vote no to BO, Vote no to BO
He’s a guy we don’t even know

Joe the plumber can’t afford to make ends meet
If his taxes go much higher he’ll be on a toilet seat
And the American dream…as we know it
Will go down the drain like pieces of grit
We must all fight for the rights of me and you
And take a stand for the red, white and blue, so

Vote no to BO, Vote no to BO, Vote no to BO
Vote no to BO, Vote no to BO
He’s a guy we don’t even know

Most acorns you find can fit in your fist
His create voters that don’t even exist
And his friend Jeremiah…who takes our Lords name in vein
And Curses this great nation again and again
God blesses our country from high above
It’s a beautiful place that I dearly love, so

Vote no to BO, Vote no to BO, Vote no to BO
Vote no to BO, Vote no to BO
He’s a guy we don’t even know

The terrorists we fight each and every day
Normally come from countries from far away
But some are protected…under our constitution
And live in our country with no restitution
It makes no sense why we can’t plan
To take back our country, the promise land, so

Vote no to BO, Vote no to BO, Vote no to BO
Vote no to BO, Vote no to BO
He’s a guy we don’t even know

He won’t salute our stars and stripes
A vote for him just can’t be right
His socialist programs…will bleed us dry
Wake up Americans you must be high
It’s not too late to stake your claim
If you don’t, there’ll be no one to blame, so

Vote no to BO, Vote no to BO, Vote no to BO
Vote no to BO, Vote no to BO
He’s a guy we don’t even know

THANK GOD!! There are actually True Blooded Americans still living in this country! I am so glad to see a True American standing up. Hank Williams is definitely my hero! "What this world needs is a few more rednecks. Some people ain't afraid to take a stand

I think this song is awesome. hey hank...you'd better write something to go with a country boy can survive. We might have lost, but for how long??? I'm waiting for the promise Obama made to us all when he had that judge seal his birth certificate..that he would reveal it after the election to prove whether he is a natural citizen of America or not. I believe the 2nd amendment says something to the effect a person has to be a natural citizen to hold office of the President in this country.

Okay so what I say is that what it comes down to is his right to freedom of speech and expression just like anyone else that advocates it

Sorry I'm just now getting to this site full of stupid people that can't even spell. Hank, Jr. is a God and you all or stupid idiots. I hope you're happy. You got want you voted for. Dumb asses.

Well, it just keeps getting worse. And the media just keeps preaching the gospel of the great god Obama. We are not just on the road to socialism, were past that...we're on the road to COMMUNISM (alias, the Highway to Hell). Come on America, wake up. Vote the Dems out this November in the House elections. And just remember "A Country Boy can survive".

Great Song!!! We are now in the beginnings of socialism and entitlements.
