The fences have gone up on Pennsylvania Avenue here, where the last reviewing stand was stationed for President Bush's reelection inaugural in January 2005, pictured above, for the erection of the 2009 stands. (White House photo by Paul Morse.)

Barack Obama may not be "measuring the drapes'' for the White House, as Republican rival John McCain has suggested he is in recent days on the campaign trail.
But workers are measuring the footprint for the inaugural reviewing stands that will be erected in front of the White House for the inaugural parade on Jan. 20.
Chain-link fences have gone up on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the place that President Bush, playing host to the president of Paraguay, today called the "Casa Blanca.''
And fences have gone up outside the Capitol, at the front facing the National Mall, where the next president will be sworn into office in a little less than three months.
Not that anybody's in a rush around here, mind you.

No rush....not at all. LOL! Bush needs to be prosecuted though. That also is "no rush". LOL!

I'd like to see a pizza and beer inaugural dinner - everyone in t-shirts and jeans instead of spending millions on the lavish parties of the past...of course when I think about it you still can get overboard depending on if you have Wolfgang Puck make the pizza (shrimp, lobster, caviar come to mind) and have fancy imported brews instead of those made in America...

I love how McCain thinks planning ahead is bad. I would not want to vote for a presidential candidate who was not ready if he/she is elected. Each should be planning extensively for what they'll do if elected.
