YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - This just in: Sen. John McCain will spend some of his last precious hours campaigning in the battleground city of....New York.
McCain will appear on Saturday Night Live this weekend within the last three days of campaigning.
"Senator McCain has appeared on the show before, and always has a good time," said Tucker Bounds, a spokesman for the campaign.
Despite his well known abilities as a stand-up comedian, McCain has sometimes been accused of looking angry on the campaign trail. This may be one of his last opportunities to reach a national audience showcasing his good humor.

Maybe they'll let him dress up in the moose suit...

How many more times do we have to hear from McCain that "Senator Obama will raise ***your*** taxes," when he won't?McCain has no credibility. He is a "joke," and jokes do well on SNL.

Reply to "Pierre": ...gee whiz, and how many times do we have to hear Obama say "more of the same" in reference to McCain, when that's not true?
You are backing a guy who really owes it to the mainstream media for his popularity (since he really has no experience or qualifications to fall back on), yet you critique McCain for appearing on SNL, which he has already done a few times in the past (dating back several years). Get real. The only real joke here will be on the American people if Obama manages to get elected.
By the way, Obama will raise taxes on some individuals and on small businesses. If you looked at the actual proposals vs. blindly following what the "fair" media reports, you'd know this fact. Maybe that doesn't apply to you but it does to many of us.

To Mongo: Obama is very specific when it comes to taking (taxes): he looks at the big job-exporting businesses and oil-companies.
When it comes to giving (taxcuts), he looks at the middleclass, earning $ 200,000 or less.
Show me the taking/giving specifics of McCain.Whe now he will 'give' to the oil-companies...where will he take what he needs, you think?
By the way, everybody who follows the presidential race could see that quite a lot of the themes, visions and strategies of Obama were picked up by other candidates later on: he is a leader of leaders!

McCain doesn't have to exhibit a polished ability to speak like Obama but rather just show a greater degree of vitality and youth. McCain is a good guy but he sometimes seems to slip into "senior moments". And, pleaaasssee, don't refer to the audience as "my friends" because it comes across as "Thank you for shopping at K-Mart' or"my fellow Americans" (aka. Lyndon Johnson). All he has to do on Saturday Night Live is be the John McCain that we knew 10-15 years ago. Don't listen to your campaign manager. Be sincere and have some fun for god's sakes. Both Obama and McCain are good guys. People do want change but we can't be sure which of you two guys really means to follow through on what you say you will do.

Actually it will be pretty funny if Tina does Palin. Too bad he won't realize the joke is on him.
I love the reference to "battleground city."

Darned Liberal Media going out of their way give one Party all the exposure.

That's telling Mongo, Joe. I understand Mungo though. I'll be scared too if I thought someone was after my money. Who wouldn't? Especially if I was getting all these misinformation on TV and radio again and again that Obama is after my money. Let's get this straight. Who in the USA is making more than $ 250,000 a year? Certainly not Joe the Plumber - or is it?
But that's the story MacCain is selling. And that's what Mongo is willing to buy. Well, Mongo, I wish you well but I wish one day you'll be able to think about others than your very own self and your wallet. Think Mingo: If Socialism is caring about others than oneself then Obama is a Socialist. So was Jesus Christ.

McCain should poke fun at the main stream Obama media strategy...
"Don't ask, Don't tell."
and Obama's "360" from JFK...
"Dont ask what you can do for your country; ASK WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU!...
Go ahead, you may get lucky!"
Or, Obama's 2 Americas...
The Rich, who caused our problems and now must pay!
The Poor, who will feel like they won the lottery under his Plan.
Or, Obama's political strategy...
If you rob Peter to pay Paul, you will always have Paul's vote.

SNL used to be fresh, funny and free-thinking. Why allow the old GOP codgers on? I know NBC is desperate for increased ratings (so are the political candidates), but why sell out the soul of SNL? The Lorne Michaels of the late 70s and 80s would never sell out this way.

Wait -- he's been on before? I thought McCain said Obama was the celebrity . . .

Way too little. Way too late. It is a real shame John McCain has run his only run for president in a shambles. The selection of Sarah Palin out of nowhere was a big blunder. His inablity to focus on the real needs of Americans is another. There is a need for an economic boost, and McCain doesn't get it. It seems like McCain just wants to be President so he can put it on his resume. Maybe the real issue is he cannot have the help of his father and his father's friends like he has before, as they are all dead.

In 2000 McCain said he had no big agenda or plans, he just wants to be President. That has not changed.
It should be obvious to everyone by now that the difference between the candidates is that MCCAIN wants to be President to BE something and OBAMA wants to be President to DO something.

Scott Reph: It's called EQUAL TAXATION, just in case you didn't know!!!! People sit around talking about others sitting around waiting for their welfare check...what's the DIFFERENCE??? Why should the MIDDLE CLASS carry the WEALTHY????...we're tired of it!!! Get it????

It sounds like Mongo gets his/her news from FOX. Any neutral news that shows both campaigning, Mccain & Sarah are ALWAYS bad mouthing Obama and quoting joe the plumber!, but Obama always talks about what he will do in a positive way.I can hardly wait to see what job Mccain assigns Joe the plumber.
