In the closing week of the presidential campaign, Michelle Obama is taking a turn on the late-night comic's stage.
The wife of the Democratic presidential nominee will drop in on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno this evening.
The late-night shows have taken on a life of their own in this campaign - with David Letterman lecturing John McCain for skipping his Late Night show the week that McCain briefly "suspended'' his campaign for the economic crisis, and then forgiving McCain when he finally appeared.
Sarah Palin came face to face with imPalinator Tina Fey on Saturday Night Live.
But the solo appearance of a candidate's spouse on the comedian's stage at this stage of the campaign is another measure of the confidence the Democratic ticket is feeling about the closing days of the campaign. The show airs on NBC at 11:35 pm EDT.

I wonder if Leno will inquire about the cost of her wardrobe? The press reported that the dress she wore on the night her husband was nominated cost $5,000.
But then the fact reporting organizations have reported that the late-night comics have mocked McCain/Palin 7 times more than they have Obama/Biden!
The media is not biased.

I think Leno, who is a moderate who leans conservative, was ready to support McCain. When McCain made the boneheaded move and selected Palin as VP, the jokes poured in. For every 20 McCain/Palin jokes there is maybe 1 Obama/Biden joke. Leno, as are many conservatives, is angry at the selection.

Yes, selecting Palin was a dumb move. A REALLY DUMB move!
