ORLANDO, Fla. -- Michelle Obama, wife of the Democratic presidential nominee, says the junior senator from Illinois will be "the underdog'' in the race until he is elected president.
At least, tjht's her take on the race in an interview airing this morning on CBS News' The Early Show.
Maggie Rodriguez conducted the interview on the campaign trail in Fort Wayne, Ind., and will show it in two parts today and tomorrow on the show starting at 7 am EDT.
Rodriguez asks Michelle Obama of her husband: "Do you think the race is his to lose at this point?"
"You know, as far as I'm concerned Barack has been and will continue to be the underdog until he's sitting in the White House,'' Obama replies. "You know, a guy named Barack Obama who is a young, beginning to be known candidate, is always an underdog.
"Barack was an underdog in every race that he was in and if you remember, it seems so long ago, but, you know, 15 months ago, when he was in the-- in the middle of a primary-- when he first decided to announce, no one thought that he had any shot at winning this thing. And that's essentially how we spent the last 20 months, really being reminded how much-- how long a shot this-- this has been."

Well said, Mrs. Obama !! Senator Obama and Senator Biden are indeed the underdogs, given the ruling Party of the Bush-McCain Republicans !! They have the entire government apparatus at their disposal, what do you think that parachuting into Washington D.C., by Senator " Suspending my Campaign " McCain, was all about !! He was supposed to ride into town and save the day !!! Actually, he torpedoed an agreement that had already been hammered out, he gummed up the works for another week or two !!
So, you sure hit the nail on the head, Mrs. Obama, but we have great things going for us, Senator Obama's integrity, his new ideas and his refusal to play politics as usual !! The Democrats, with continued hard work and helping voters get to the polls, we should see the Obamas and the Bidens in our White House, in January !!

Looking at Michele's picture here I can't help but noticed this--- that same sharp demeanor that reminds me of Hillary Clinton. Obama has the full support of major main stream media; ABC, NBC, CBS et al. So how can he be the underdog, huh?
