Sen. John McCain has a new anti-Obama ad out called "Dangerous" which tries to work on at least two perceived voter concerns -- the X factor which Sen. Barack Obama still represents for many voters and the thought of Democrats controlling two branches of government.
Here's a transcript of the ad's narrative:
ANNCR: Who is Barack Obama? He says our troops in Afghanistan are
BARACK OBAMA: "... just air-raiding villages and killing civilians."
ANNCR: How dishonorable.
Congressional liberals voted repeatedly to cut off funding to our active troops.
Increasing the risk on their lives.
How dangerous.
Obama and Congressional liberals.
Too risky for America.
JOHN MCCAIN: I'm John McCain and I approved this message.
The McCain campaign also provides an annotated version of the text in the ad:
In August 2007, Barack Obama Said American Troops Were "Just Air-Raiding Villages And Killing Civilians" In Afghanistan. Obama: "We've got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we're not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there." (Philip Elliott, "Obama Gets Warning From Voter," The Associated Press, http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8R0GAQG0&show_article=1, 8/13/07)

- In 2007, Barack Obama Voted Against Providing $94.4 Billion In Critical Funding For The Troops In Iraq And Afghanistan. (H.R. 2206, CQ Vote #181: Passed 80-14: R 42-3; D 37-10; I 1-1, 5/24/07, Obama Voted Nay)
- Responding To Pressure From Liberal MoveOn.org, Barack Obama Promised To Vote Against Future Iraq Funding. "Seventy-two hours after MoveOn.org threw down the gauntlet, telling ABC News that Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., and Barack Obama, D-Ill., needed to speak out 'sooner and more vocally' in opposition to voting for an Iraq funding measure that does not include a timetable for withdrawal, both Democratic presidential contenders have done exactly that." (Teddy Davis, Jonathan Greenberger, and Donna Hunter, "Clinton, Obama Take No Funding Pledge," ABC News' "Political Radar" Blog, www.abcnews.com, 9/17/07)
- Barack Obama: "If there is a funding bill that does not have a timetable for when we begin withdrawal, and the completion -- a plan for how that withdrawal will proceed -- I will not support it." (Teddy Davis, Jonathan Greenberger, and Donna Hunter, "Clinton, Obama Take No Funding Pledge," ABC News' "Political Radar" Blog, www.abcnews.com, 9/17/07)
- In The Past Two Years, Congressional Democrats Have Tried Repeatedly To Cut Off Funding For The Troops In Combat. (H.R. 2764, CQ Vote #437: Rejected 24-71: R 0-49; D 23-21; I 1-1, 12/18/07; H.R. 3222, CQ Vote #362: Rejected 28-68: R 0-46; D 27-21; I 1-1, 10/3/07; H.R. 1585, CQ Vote #345: Rejected 28-70: R 0-49; D 27-20; I 1-1, 9/20/07; H.R. 1495, CQ Vote #167: Motion Rejected 29-67: R 0-47; D 28-19; I 1-1, 5/16/07; H.R. 2237, CQ Vote #330: Rejected 171-255: R 2-196; D 169-59, 5/10/07)
- Joe Biden: "My Colleagues Voted Against The Funding To Make A Political Point ...There's No Political Point Worth My Son's Life. There's No Political Point Worth Anyone's Life." (Abby Simons, "Biden Blasts Rivals For Votes Against Iraq Money," The Des Moines Register, 8/15/07)

Comments
Certainly didn't take McCain long to go to the mattresses.
So, another donation for Obama.

It should have ended "I'm John McCain and I have no honor or decency left."

"Dangerous!!!!" You want danger? Check out the market. Check out who voted with Bush 90% of the time leading to massive deregulation. Instead of yelling danger, start the chant: four more years, four more years, four more years.

Senator McCain must be practicing his next routine, he will use, when next invited to The Letterman Show. The Bush-Cheney team distorted facts and deceived the American electorate into a war that has now cost our Treasury, 2 TRILLION DOLLARS, and our nation, 5000 Killed In Action, 100,000 disabled, thousands of American families' lives turned upside down. I haven't even mentioned the tragic consequences of their action on the Iraq nation and its peoples !!
Our Banking Sector is riddled with criminality and corruption, leaving average Americans bankrupt, removed from their homes and, in some cases, out on the street. This is the record of the Bush-McCain Republicans and the comical Senator McCain and now, they are saying the Democratic ticket, of Senators Obama and Biden, will be dangerous !! You can't get any more dangerous than the Bush-McCain Republicans have been, for the last 8 years. The lies and distortions will continue for the next several weeks, because the Bush-McCain Republicans can't run on their dismal record !! All they can do is work the " Fear and Smear " campaign and hope the American electorate is fooled for the third time. I sure hope America proves them wrong, this time.
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.
