OBAMA and ACORN. Shady!! An ACORN office in Nevada was raided today due to voter registration FRAUD. OBAMA has over a decade of connections with ACORN! And we want this from our President??? NOT in my LIFE!!

Is this really McCain's last viable chance to win the election? Can't the economic crisis - or voter skepticism over McCain's ability to handle it - going away anytime soon. It takes at least a week or two to gain real traction with whatever anti-Obama message McCain carries out on stage with him.

oh paleeze Matt..and the likes of you. Give it up.
Watch the debates on C-SPAN!

The most important aspect of this debate is the absence of the other candidates. Are McCain and Obama really the only ones running…?
It used to be that the major contenders would invite Third Party candidates to participate, but neither McCain nor Obama have extended such invitations — even after being gently reminded that it would be good form to do so.
Does it not seem immoral that a candidate who has gained ballot access in a sufficient number of states to theoretically be able to acquire the requisite number of electoral college votes should be denied access to the debates…? Does it not reflect an abominable sense of entitlement from both major candidates…?
That both Obama and McCain would be party to such immorality speaks volumes about their character.
Neither of these men impress me.
Having said that, to choose between the two evils, here's a slick tool: http://www.unfuse.com/decisions/79-Presidential-Debate-2-Obama-Vs-McCain/finalize

Obama has too many heavy baggages-terrorist connection, tyrannts Wright, untested, inexperience, no military experience does not have the real American traditions and also with an anti-american wife. It is too much for the voting pulic to digest and all this signify the 'unknown.'

What does Obama know about middle class? He earned 4.2million last year. Who does not get it? Is it about being a person of color, that makes the grade?
I think, we need a third candidate, but between the two - I would rather have a McCain than an Obama that clearly does not have a clue what the middle class is dealing with - but has made his Presidential race all about it.
He speaks well, just like the white man did to our American Indians - with a forked ...
This is just to scary...

How long until McCain loses his temper and throws a chair?
Posted by: Mark | October 7, 2008 9:19 PM
Mccain has the worst short-man's disease in the world.
he wont sit in his chair because his feet don't reach the ground. thats why he just awkwardly stands in the background while obama is speaking

McCain referred to Barack as "that one" and a thumb in his direction.
Has he ever heard the word "respect"?

How long is the actual debate?
Posted by: Dan | October 7, 2008 10:01 PM
I'd love to see Obama sqaure off against Bill Clinton. Two masters who can wax eloquent, leave the audience walking away thinking they can solve all of the problems only to realize when they got home that they learned absolutely nothing. The juniior senator from Illinois could even reprise Clinton as Secretary of Propaganda. "Slick" meet "Slick." You guys belong together like a couple of peas in a political pod.

Every time McCain prefaces his response with "my friends", take a drink!
Posted by: Radian | October 7, 2008 10:10 PM
Obama is presidential and believable.
McCain is a sad, pandering old man who is coming off fake, programmed and as inspirational as day old toast.
He just said we should put people's medical health records on line! Is this silly old man insane?

This debate proved that Obama is an intelligent leader. Mc Cains attempts to be funny are ridiculous and he should be ashamed of his behavior this evening. His futile attempt to attack Obama are riduculous.

How racism works
What if John McCain were a former president of the Harvard Law Review?
What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?
What if McCain were still married to the first woman he said 'I do' to?
What if Obama were the candidate who left his first wife after she no longer
measured up to his standards?
What if Michelle Obama were a wife who not only became addicted to pain
killers, but acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?
What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?
What if Obama were a member of the 'Keating 5'?
What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?
If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election
numbers would be as close as they are?
This is what racism does.
It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.

Please let McCrackers just keep talking.
He said five times that he knows how to get Bin Laden. And he'll get 'em my friends. Just can't tell us how because he would be "telegraphing my punches".
What a joke.

Republicans just can't hide their racist, prejudiced and bigoted thoughts, no matter how hard they try. McCain assumes a black questioner never heard of Fanny Mae or Freddy Mac until recently and calls Obama "That one". Just givin' a shout out to your good ol' boy base, huh McCain?
Posted by: jackson | October 7, 2008 10:43 PM
All right I know this is about issues and not about good hair. However considering McCain's pick for Vice President his age is becoming an increasing factor. McCain seems to recognize that many of the current foreign policies are driven by a set strategy and that these strategies have not succeeded. But he doesn't seem to understand the opportunity for success comes with new ideas pragmatically applied. Most Americans are painfully aware of these failures. Since McCain obviously isn't an ignorant man one can only wonder at the double speak and false sincerity. Why not just lay it out like it is... oh, that's right it is all about party politics.
It is about the Republican world of taking care of me first and never dealing with the problems of the tribe as a whole. America cannot successfully lead the world this way. Cooperation is key to the survival of all species. It is time to recognize that the tribe is to big and suffering too much to bury our heads in the "me" sand.

I wish to know what caused this mess in the first place. Was it Barney Franks and Chris Dodd crawling into bed with Fannie Mae?

What caused the financial melt down? Barney Franks, Chris Dodd and the pro House In Every Pot crowd or Bush for failing to get the Democrats to stop the sub-prime orgy?

Oh, Matt, please have some substance when you argue about ACORN. You fit in well with the McCain campaign. Being sleazy is easy, eh? Going back to the ACORN issue, please grow a pair.

The hypocrisy of the republicans. Let's see they voted for Bush, he screwed up the country, this was the guy at the helm when we got attacked on 9/11/01, yet he did nothing and the Republicans gave him another chance because he was going to make us safe (and BROKE)
Now we have a financial crisis in which the Republicans wanted deregulation but now they want the federal govt to bail out businesses, go figure! The fact is republicans talk the talk and that's it we are worse off today, that is a FACT. They like to talk about the trickle down econmics which haven't worked. Is it just me, but the trickle down economics sounds like a pyramid scheme, guess what the pyramid has crashed and now you losers want us the people to pick up the tab, Hypocrits, morons, thieves, and selfish gluttons.

Rights4all...you're an idiot. Check your facts for the EXACT requirements for becoming President. Neither candidate is perfect (and no other President that has come before them was perfect, either), but if you think your guy is better, you're crazy. How do you support a guy who has absolutely NO PLATFORM whatsoever? Your guy talks about prior military experience and reaching across party lines...but none of that activity actually translated into anything that actually helped move the country forward. The man sided with the current administration 90% of the time!! 90%!! How do you all of a sudden walk away from that way of thinking? It doesn't happen over night, "my friend."

Where's the Latin translator? What's up with this post, anyway? Of course, people will just natter away with their partisan talking points and ignore what's up there--is that the point?

My God, has McCain lost his mind? He referred to Obama as "that one".My God, John, you are running against a person, not an object. Your attitude shows that you disrespect your opponent on all levels, and to objectify him is morally reprehensible! I'm a college educated WHITE guy, and that offended the hell out of me. When are you going to go all the way and call Sarah Palin your sexy bitch and Obama that uppity Negro?

VOTERS FRAUD IS ANOTHER FORM TO DISMANTLE DEMOCRACY,
Posted by: save democracy | October 8, 2008 12:57 AM
Wow. That was like 20 messages b4 the libs played the race card. Absolutely amazing restraint! Let's try this little brain buster Hot Rod: What if McCain fraternized with a former member of the Weather Underground? What would the conspicuously silent Lib Media have to say? What if instead of Dem Dems Barney Fife Frank, Maxine Waters, Gregory Meeks, Lacey Clay, Frank Raines (Obama Bin Biden's economic advisor), Artur Davis, and the rest of the Fatty Mae & Easy Mac criminals and cheerleaders, these had been republicans? Imagine the media outcry! What if McCain's spiritual adviser for 20 years had celebrated 9-11 by exclaiming "America's chickens have come home to roost" and "Not God bless American, God Damn America!'" Try to picture how the Lib media would respond to such tomfoolery. What if John McCain had spent 143 days in the Senate? Would the media deem him qualified to be President? What if McCain wanted to increase the US's contributions to the ineffectual and corrupt, Global Warming Alarmist UN by 700%? Wouldn't anyone question the rationale of this decision, or would it be another ho hum pronouncement?
I know, you all get a chill running up your leg whenever the suit speaks. Congratulations. Forgive me if I don't get all goose pimply over higher taxes, anti-business, pro-Kyoto, anti-God, gay marriage, larger government, protection for visa overstayers, home loans for everybody, non oil drilling, non refinery building, non nuclear energy licensing, Hollywood and liberal media supported politics.

I think Obama did a great job at tonights debate. He was clear and concise when talking about the economy and health care. His answers made sense. McCain on the other hand came across as bitter and was all over the place with his answers...to top off the evening, he refused to shake Obamas hand. I think McCain will have to do better than 'that one' because we'll be voting for 'that one'
Posted by: Coffee Lady | October 8, 2008 1:43 AM
McCain actually refused to shake Obama's hand after the debate, offering his wife's instead.
My friends, that's the sign of a small minded and petty jerk.

I think, this is a perfect example of the inmates running the asylum. Poor, Senator McCain doesn't know whether he is coming or going, all he knows is what his handlers are telling him. He looked pathetic out on the stage this evening !! Once a good man, now a shadow of his former self and a shadow that is scaring people and a shadow that is of no substance, so to speak !! The best I can offer Senator McCain, in terms of advice, go back to Nevada and re-connect with your constituencies and give up the private jet and the twelve homes. They have left you, out of touch with middle America and all the workers in America !!
Maybe, now the real, traditional, the decent Republicans can wrest away, the controls of the GOP, from the fakers, the liars, the hypocrites and the character assassins, the Bush-McCain Republicans !! Than, America will once again, have the advantage of two good major Parties and the political dialogue, between two different political philosophies, will continue the great American debate !!
SUPPORT OUR TROPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

Notwithstanding the show put on by both candidates, voters have a choice as to how they want to see a portion of their tax dollars returned to their wallets.
On one side we have John McCain, a Republican who believes that ‘trickle-down’ and ‘supply-side’ economics is the best way to spend your money, namely giving the bulk of tax incentives to big business. He assumes that after their pockets are overflowing with your money the excess will fall below.
Conversely, Barack Obama, a liberal Democrat, believes that middle-class Americans should receive the bulk of tax dollars used for their benefit before big business and special interest groups are fed.
Both approaches to our current economic situation have merit, except only one approach is appropriate for the current economic situation. After almost eight years of supply-side spending, Senator Obama’s plan to redistribute the wealth seems to be the best way to fix our broken economic system. Instead of spending billions to bail-out investment banks and the like, a strategic plan needs to be implemented to buy the vacant and foreclosed homes strangling the housing market. When balance returns to the real estate market, America will see a floating-up of wealth to the top.

It seems like I am the only one who heard McCain bring up the inexperience thing again. He made some reference to Obama being inexperienced and that the job requires more than OJT. Funny, did he forget who he's got on his ticket for VP and just how INEXPERIENCED his running mate is?
Posted by: Vicky | October 8, 2008 10:37 AM
In choosing between candidates, I personally can't trust what either says/promises in the midst of a campaign. I definitely know I DO NOT want a socialized healthcare system; talked to too many under such systems in other countries. Rationing of resources, letting Big Brother decide who gets treatment and who waits, no thanks. But the biggest influence to me is character by association; sure Mrs. Obama is gracious today but her past distain for this country and its society give me chills. No one will ever convince me that her husband doesn't share a similar viewpoint either now or in the past-speaks VOLUMES.
