Tickets for Sen. Barack Obama's election night event in Chicago are gone, according to a message on a Web site his campaign made public Tuesday afternoon to handle applications from Illinois residents.

"Thanks for your interest," the message says. "There are no remaining tickets for this event."

The Illinois Democrat's campaign has declined to answer repeated questions on how many tickets it distributed or how many people it plans to accommodate at the site it is building at the south end of Grant Park.

I received the email invite at 2:30 yesterday afternoon. When I opened it and signed up for tickets it was 5:45 pm, and I received the "all tickets are gone message." Does anyone know the exact time the tickets were reported as all gone?

I signed up for them at 2:45, after I reserved a ticket this was the email I got:

***THIS IS NOT A TICKET. THIS EMAIL CONFIRMS THAT YOU HAVE SIGNED UP TO RECEIVE AN ELECTION NIGHT EVENT TICKET. ***

You will receive further ticketing information in the coming days.

Thanks,

The Democratic Party

This is a joke. I donated to the campaign before the 1st primary, when I lived in Texas. I even donated a few weeks ago, now living in Chicago, and I DIDN'T GET AN INVITE EMAIL.

I was put on the waiting list early afternoon. I guess I didn't give him and the Democrats enough of my money. I still want to see the spectacle though. Once in a lifetime event -- if it happens.

I responded to the email about 2:50pm. After I signed up on the website, I got the following email message a minute later from "The Democratic Party", but haven't heard anything since.

" ***THIS IS NOT A TICKET. THIS EMAIL CONFIRMS THAT YOU HAVE SIGNED UP TO RECEIVE AN ELECTION NIGHT EVENT TICKET. ***

You will receive further ticketing information in the coming days.

Thanks,

The Democratic Party"

When McCain piked Palin as his running mate he defined the Republican Party and all that is wrong with America. He gave Obama a ticket to the white house. .................

http://thefiresidepost.com/2008/10/29/obamas-best-chance-palins-example/

I also got the email at 2:33 and by the time I signed up a few minutes later, I got "wait listed". A co-worker was able to get 2 tickets but she is the only person I have heard of that signed up who got tickets.

Well now that all the tickets are gone, we move to Phase II of the "Keep the donations rolling in for me" fiasco. Will it now be "pay per view" to watch his shindig on network tv?

What a shame that we can't all attend (I've applied for tickets too), but if the tickets have gone to those loyal volunteers who have helped Senator Obama get elected, then they can have my seat. If we have enough trust to vote Obama into the White House, we should trust his campaign people to know who to give tickets to. We should all be concerned for his safety in light of recent attempts to bring harm to him, and with this in mind I hope those in attendance are well-screened. And for those of you complaining because you donated and didn't get a ticket--give it a rest and check your motives.

I got the email at 2:34 according to my inbox. I got the confirmation at 3:53.

By the time I told my roommates about the tickets at about 4:05, they were put on wait lists.

I requested tickets an hour or so after I received the e-mail, and I was wait-listed. I'm disappointed, but not at all surprised. People will fly in from all over the world for this, and there's just no way they can accomodate everyone who wants to go. It's a security issue.

This has nothing to do with how much anyone gave, but with trying to accommodate several hundred thousand people in a space that so far is limited to fewer than 100,000. I suspect the space may be expanded, but even if you can't get into the official area, there's plenty of room nearby to provide that "you-are-there" experience. I just hope the City is prepared to handle a 4th-of-July-sized crowd.

I think it is wonderful that the tickets are all gone and after a million or so have been distributred, people still want to come! I will gladly watch Barack Obama accept his election win on TV!

We got the email and just wouldn't you know it; not one of us (three person volunteer/donors adult household) checked until about two hours after it was sent and my son and I got the messages that we were on the wait list and to not show up downtown unless we had a ticket; husband away caring for his ailing brother tried and got the message that there were no tickets left.

We all so wanted to be THERE to soaking in the history, but if there are no tickets so be it, we will take as much joy in watching from our warm home.

I didn't get tickets either, but come on people. Don't lose focus. A million tickets is NOT a lot of tickets for a campaign of this size in Chicago. You probaby had a better chance at winning the lotto. I will be happy to watch it from the warmth of my family room.

I got the email at 2:32, I requested tickets and at 2:53 I got the message confirming my request. I assumed from that message that I got 2 tickets. Not sure if I'll be attending but wanted to have them in case I decide to go.

There is a limited amount of room where they are setting this up at. I'm sure if they could, they would let anyone who wanted, come to the rally, but space is limited. If you really want to attend, come to the park. It is an open air event, and while you may not get as close as you would like, you'll still be there to lend support! After all, it is about all of us coming together to bring about change.

He's more popular than Hannah Montana! Is it any surprise that the tickets went that fast? This is going to be a historic night for Senator Obama and our nation, of course his most enthusiastic supporters clicked and signed up as fast as possible.

The only reason this is a story is because the CPD needs people to know that it is sold out and not to try and show up without a ticket.

Change is coming!

For those lucky enough to get tickets but can't go. Release them to Stub Hub or Ticket Master. What's good for the Cubs and White Sox is good for Barack Obama.

I requested a ticket around 2:50, about 20 minutes after the email was sent out yesterday, and I received an email confirming I would be receiving one.

It's unfortunate that not everyone can go that would like to, but then again this is a man who is, potentially, less than three months from leading our nation.

I'm inclined to think that the Secret Service had something to do with controlling the attendance to the event. Could you imagine controlling such a mass of people should Obama not win the election? Or if he does win?

I think less than 80,000 tickets were offered for the official acceptance speech area. That space can only hold about 70,000. There were not a million tickets, that is the expected crowd. The overflow will be handled in other areas of GP.

Get used to it. The smoke and mirrors are starting to vanish...

I got the e-mail and responded right away. I think I have tickets, I received the same confirm as most people stating I will receive additional information soon. There should be plenty of spots for people without tickets to come down and check it out. I saw some pretty good shows from Columbus Ave this summer even though I didn't have tickets to the show.

I don't think Craigslist, EBAY, or StubHub will come into play here. The message says you must bring an I.D., which leads me to think the name on the ticket must be yours

Instead of watching Obama tonight go to his website TODAY and DEMAND a PRESS Conference to tell us why if he is a candidate who said he will run a campaign of transparency but has yet to release… Your vault version long form of your birth certificate rather than have the Govenor seal your records Your Passports Your medical records, more then just a doctors note Your college thesis Your campaign donors including those at or below $200 Your senate schedule Your college funding, who exactly paid for you to attend Harvard records - not released. Your Columbia college records - not released. Your Columbia thesis paper - “not available.” Your Harvard college records - not released. Your Selective service registration - not released. Your Medical records - not released. Your Illinois state Senate schedule - “not available.” Your Law practice client list - not released. Your Harvard Law Review articles published - none. also we need to know about Bill Ayres Rev Wright Father Phleger Rezco Khadli with your million dollar home are you going to sell that and spread the wealth or do you just expect the taxpayers to do this??? what about people making 42,000.00 a year in IL you raised their taxes .... I do not feel you have the credentials to be PRESIDENT OF THIS FREE AND GREAT COUNTRY GO TRY YOUR SOCIALISM SOMEWHERE ELSE AND TAKE YOUR FRIENDS WITH YOU YOU DO NOT DESERVE ANYTHING THAT WE THE PEOPLE HERE HAVE TO OFFER YOU

I requested tickets as well and did not receive any kind of info regarding ticket availablility. Either way, I work downtown so I have no problem sticking around for the party. Don't need a ticket to feel invited. This is downtown Chicago...there's plenty of room to celebrate!

I think the tickets went out to volunteers. that's how I got mine--been working at this for more than a year.

Funny kathryn.. If you look at Palins structure of "sharing the wealth" in Alaska it mirrors everything she is so called against now and calling it Socialism.

Donors and volunteers got all the tickets

sounds like pay to play the Illinois way!

Does anyone know if this message means you will receive a ticket: ***THIS IS NOT A TICKET. THIS EMAIL CONFIRMS THAT YOU HAVE SIGNED UP TO RECEIVE AN ELECTION NIGHT EVENT TICKET. ***

You will receive further ticketing information in the coming days.

Thanks,

The Democratic Party

Or is it the "waitlist" e-mail people are referring to?

This whole ticket thing could be a big backfire.

I am waitlisted, along with several others I know who have done volunteer work over the past several months. No, we didn't do ten hours a week for the whole year. But a few of us went to Wisconsin and Indiana, as well as knocked on doors in Dupage.

This is all VERY disappointing.

I responded almost immediately to the email yesterday and got tickets without a problem. I also didn't donate a dime to the campaign or volunteer in any way. The conspiracy theorists can relax -- It was first come, first serve.

Isn't holding a major election day rally that obviously is assuming a win, a bad idea?

It kind of reminds when the Patriots trademarked "19-0" and "Perfect Season" and similar phrases, BEFORE they had actually won. We all know how that turned out.

In my experience, it seems the moment you declare something will happen, it has a funny way of NOT happening.

"Dewey Defeats Truman" anyone?

I was away from my computer for most of the day yesterday, so I didn't get to sign up for tickets till evening. I'm really disappointed to be waitlisted, and I've donated to the campaign as well, and worked hard to register voters on college campuses. But I don't think the Obama campaign is intentionally trying to spite us. If anything, the fact that all the tickets are gone is a testament to the demand and the affinity so many have for his campaign's mission and goals. Although I really really really wish I could be there, it won't matter as much to me if he gets elected. But no matter who is elected, I hope that he will be able to move our country forward in a positive direction and work to unite us after this divisive election...

Never have so many been fooled by so few!

Yes Betty, if you got that email then you will be getting a ticket. That's the same way it was handled for the Super Tuesday event.

I just checked the link and they are still allowing people to sign up for the waiting list.

I'm really, really mad.

My husband and I worked the original Chicago announcement, we trudged for 8 days all over central Iowa canvassing for the primary on our dime. We trudged all over central Texas canvassing for Obama for four days again on our dime. We're taking a car full of volunteers with us to Indianapolis to canvas from Nov. 1 through No.v 3.

We've dontated $500 to Obama.

I deserve tickets and I'm wait listed.

People who did nothing deserve to be at the back of the line.

Not sure why everyone is so worried about a ticket. The surrounding areas are all pulblic spaces. There is plenty of room. Haven't you ever been downtown on the 3rd of July?

I don't think there was any elaborate scheme to distribute tickets. Basically, I believe that if you are an IL resident signed up at MyBarackObama.com and get emails from the campaign, you got the email for tickets. Then it was first come, first served. I have a profile on the site, got the email, responded immediately, and received the following email literally 1 minute later ***THIS IS NOT A TICKET. THIS EMAIL CONFIRMS THAT YOU HAVE SIGNED UP TO RECEIVE AN ELECTION NIGHT EVENT TICKET. *** You will receive further ticketing information in the coming days. Thanks, The Democratic Party. I followed the link later and saw that there was then the Wait List message...

Those of you proposing selling tickets on StubHub or Ticketmaster are profiting of a FREE event. The invites sent out to supporters were for FREE tickets. This could be a historic event and everyone wants to go. We all have to be understanding. What is more important is that we all VOTE!

Just go. How will they keep you out?

I think it's all a joke myself - now, if I had really campaigned and/or donated money I would be really pissed!!! That is so not fair. But you Obama people need to remember he has a lot of really big money friends that are going to be in line before you coming from all around the country!! The little pion volunteers will not be included - he associates himself with the big guns!

Ifound it incredibly galling that the signup -- according to my husband, who was trying to get the tickets to take our daughter to the rally -- kept getting referred back to the "please donate" part of the instructions. Sounds like a fund-raising scheme to me. Didn't he already get enough? The gall, the ego, are astounding.

People, please, bitterness over tickets is not what this campaign is all about. Let's believe . . . that the organizers are doing their well-intended best in the face of enormous setup and security challenges. Each person who signed up for tickets was automatically able to get two - one for him/herself and one for an unnamed guest. If those who plan to attend on their own, without the 'guest,' would inform the organizers of such, a lot more tickets would become available.

Brad -- I don't know how many times I have to tell people this. I mean, is this really the first election many of you have ever paid any attention to?

EVERY candidate holds a major rally on election night. EVERY candidate, whether they expect to win or lose.

McCain's dinky affair in Phoenix (his HQ is actually in the "un-American" region of Northern Virginia) is actually the exception here, not Obama's event in Chicago.

Those of you complaining, let's not turn into fair weather supporters! I didn't get a ticket either. There just isn't enough space to safely accommodate everyone who wants to attend. It's a security issue. Is it more important for you to attend or to make sure Obama, our next President of the U.S. is protected as best as possible? Lets keep our priorities in order shall we. I'm a volunteer and supporter and I didn't get tickets either, so I don't believe the ticket selection was hand picked.

I signed up immediately, and was directed to a fundraising page after I submitted my info, and never received any sort of confirmation!?

While I'm sorry for you folks who didn't get tickets and really wanted them, I didn't even try.

Imagine being crushed into a park with 70,000 other people on a chilly night, and maybe not even being able to see the candidate!

I'll be able to see better from my living room.

Why doesn't everyone just relax? I don't understand how all of you feel entitled to attend an event that Obama doesn't even have to host in the first place. Most presidential candidates spend election night in the privacy of a hotel room with close friends and family. The outrage over this event is sad and disturbing. If you donated and you're all fired up because you aren't one of the people that got in, why don't you just reflect on why you donated in the first place...which wasn't to be included in an event you didn't even know about at the time. This sort of behavior is pathetic - and isn't what Obama is all about.

I deserve tickets because I did stuff? Oh gimme a break. What a disgusting display of entitlement. You campaigned for Obama to get him elected so be happy if he wins.

All the haters need to go away! If there was space and a reasonable chance that they could secure the area, we would have all been able to attend. Enjoy everyone! Intelligence and sanity will back in the oval office!! Please remember to VOTE!! Obama/Biden 2008

I thought I could show up on a first come first served basis. I don't mind the ticket idea. But I don't understand how the invites were made. It sounds like only the people of Illinois were invited. As a resident of Indiana that stings a little. Maybe Barack should just take a victory lap around the country.

It sounds like some of you are forgetting exactly what it means to 'Volunteer'. To the bitter woman who "trudged" through Iowa on your dime and is VERY upset... check yo-self! You volunteered to promote Obama as president - that's it! Same goes for the donors. You donated to the general campaign fund - you didn't donate to the "this will get me a connection of some kind" fund. Ironically, that's the sort of mentality Obama claims to despise.

I got a ticket just by signing-up. I've never donated anything nor done anything for Obama campaign, so there you go. It was first come first serve based.

I doubt they gave out a million tickets, more like 100,000 maybe. The mayor said he expected a million people, that doesnt mean they were allowed, or have the capacity, for that many.

I can assure you that it's not a matter of how much you donated. I got a ticket and I did not donate a large amount. I think it was strictly a matter of first-respond, first-served.

I cannot believe people are getting so outraged about not receiving tickets. Did you really vote for Obama or support Obama so you can get tickets to see him? I, for one, did not feel entitled to nor did I expect to get a ticket to the event, but I received an invitation for tickets and got a confirmation yesterday. I have been subscribed to Obama's website and mailing list since his campaign first began. I only donated $25 in the spring of this year. I don't think it has anything to do with who you are or how much money you donated or whether you volunteer or not... I am sure it was a random process.

I work downtown that night and was planning to maybe walk by the area after work before I heard about the distribution of tickets. I certainly would not have been angry about NOT receiving a ticket to the event because that's not what I supported Obama for.

Also, you didn't get a ticket if you donated more. If you got the email, you click on the link to sign up your for your ticket. once you hit "submit", your request was submitted and you should have gotten an email. After "submit" it does take you to a donation page, but you ARE NOT required to donate.... IT EVEN SAYS SO ON THE PAGE.

People need get over fighting about a stupid ticket and focus on supporting Obama their candidate in the final days of this election. The election isn't over yet!!!

And is was not donors and volunteers that got tickets! I saw the email and told my co-workers about it and they were able to get tickets. It was first come, first serve. Unfortunatley, you cant accomodate everyone.

I noted the questions required to be answered when you donate to Obama on line. Just a freindly reminder, that's his information to start with when he shares the wealth. He's coming to you all first.

Good luck with that.

Everyone needs to stop complaining. EVERY presidential candidate holds some sort of rally on election night FOR HIS SUPPORTERS! This is a chance to celebrate with his supporters if he wins and thank/give one last speech to them if he loses. The Obama campaign has involved an unprecedented number of volunteers and donors so the typical election night event in a hotel ballroom or small arena would not be sufficient - that's why he went with Grant Park. Not to mention the fact that this actually opens it up to thousands of people who likely otherwise would not attend a regular election night event.

So no, by scheduling this, he is not getting cocky. And yes, it makes sense to limit the number of people attending due to security reasons (everyone will have to go through metal detectors) and yes, it makes sense to limit it to Illinois residents since that is where Barack got his start and likely that is where the majority of the people working for him the longest are located.

I think it is quite comical that so many volunteers and financial contributors can not get tickets!

If Obama wins, this is just the beginning of the disappointment you will feel with the guy.

He's an charming, egotistical and self-centered man who served Kool-Aid that you were all too happy to guzzle.

I am not opposed to a reasonable celebration, but in my mind, this is another Obama excess. With the current economic state, I, as a moderate, am having a hard time understanding the over-the-top extravagance of the Obama campaign. Why not "redistribute" the huge cost of this extravagant event. I'm sure it could save few homes, or keep a few families fed and warm this winter.

I'm sure I'll be criticized for not understanding the historical importance, but for once I would like to see a candidate put his money where his mouth is.

Listen to this one...

I signed up for email alerts last spring, and then when I wanted to get the email to see who he had selected as Veep.

I received not one, but TWO sets of tickets to Obama in Grant Park--an election night celebration.

The comedy is that I'm voting McCain!

Then it gets better...

From my mid-rise, I can see the rally site at Grant Park from just across S. Indiana!

I wonder if I can sellt hem on eBay or something.

I'm hoping everyone will use early voting so we can celebrate even before November 4th. :-)

Unless the weather's unseasonably warm, I'm looking forward to watching it on the web. I stood freezing in Springfield for his announcement, but at least there was bright sun. Freezing for hours late at night in Chicago? No thanks. :-)

Don't like getting screwed, well if he gets elected, you better get used to it.
I do not understand the people of Illinois. I know what he and blogo have done here. You expect different from him in Washington. People wake the heck up.

Maybe they could open up a second area in the park where people without tickets could view it on wide screen TVs, so that they can see and hear it and feel included.

Hopefully they are coordinating back-up plans with other law enforcement agencies should crowd control become a problem.

I got lucky! I happened to come across an online article in the Chicago Tribune that linked the page to request tickets. I did so and got a confirmation yesterday at 2:41 PM that I "will receive further ticketing information in the coming days". So, although the weather may be a challenge, I am looking forward to attend this historic celebration. BTW, Although I contributed to Barack Obama's senate campaign I was not on the campaign's email list as I have not been part of his presidential campaign in any way. I am just an admirer and a voter who plans to be there on Tuesday night.

Hello. This is a huge celebration party for the Democratic nominee in his hometown. I've been a Barack Obama email supporter since last year. I'm not sure if got the email because I've donated about $60 over the past year, or because I'm local and or because I receive his weekly updates. However, I knew that as soon as the email came in, I had to sign up as quickly as possible.
I was bothered by the fact that I had to donate, at minimum $5 dollars and that I had to choose a day to volunteeer with Obama. However, I'm not too bummed. I got 2 tickets!

I am a long-time Obama supporter, and I am not going, nor did I try to request tickets. This event concerns me:

1) because if he wins the amount of people who will show up without tickets is potentially mind-boggling (imagine if it's dry and in the 50's), and

2) as a result, the possibility that some right-wing nut-jobs show up with firearms is reasonably high.

My intention is to go to the inaugural parade; seems like a better (and far more planned) event. This has the makings for serious unpleasantness, so I'll sit it out.

Those who do go, dress warmly, TAKE THE TRAIN!, and keep and eye out. Even if the nut-jobs don't show up the pickpockets will.

This is not a 'see-and-be-seen' event! Why is everyone so upset? Do you really think the people around you will be impressed that you got to go? Or impressed that you've donated your time? Or you've donated your money?

If not getting to attend the event is something that is that important to you, then it is clear that your intentions from the beginning were wrong.

I am amused to read the messages from people complaining because they invested their time and money to support Obama and they didn’t get tickets to attend this event. Welcome to the Obama administration for the 4250K+ earners: make more money and pay more taxes to allow our economy to grow and offer opportunity to more Americans. What did YOU get in return for your contribution? Barack offered you an opportunity just like he promised… but you missed it. You should be happy for the people that will have an opportunity to attend. He may be promoting opportunity, but you have to be in it to win it people. If you miss an opportunity, move on and pay attention before you miss the next one. And if you can’t handle it, I hope you’re not in the 250K+ income bracket.

To jd: I recommend you read more carefully before you sign up for things.
To Obama's fundraising/marketing/web design team: great job on the website, jd feel right into your trap thinking that a donation of time and money was required to requiest tickets.

I am SO proud of all the People who gave financially, gave of their precious time and energies to this monumental and historically positive campaign for Barack Obama for President of the United States. I am so proud of Obama. Please understand that you gave, you felt it in your soul to do something you believed in, but do you have to be rewarded with a ticket? Is Barack Obama's win, our win, to be President not enough? I received the same e-mail invite and responded; and I am on the waiting list. And, I've been waiting for many years for Change. I don't need a ticket, but I do need the opportunity for the USA to bring us ALL together and work "as one for the common good". We have that potential. I hope you feel the same? That is what IS important. We CAN do better things for us all in this world, we can treat each other with the same respect and dignity, but we have to give our time and energies to eventually receive. Be happy, elated and celebrate! Stop complaining because you gave some money. Did you not believe in your giving for the future of us all? I'll be downtown Chicago for this celebration standing with people who want to make the CHANGE. Please come...even if you don't have a ticket! It WILL change you.

I am a contributor to obama"s campaign, i live in chicago and i would really like to attend the the election night in grant park. is there anyway to get two tickets?? thank-you, buddy alper

I'm glad I didn't get any tickets. Not that I tried, or even want one. Can you imagine what it will be like whether Obsama wins or loses? It will probably end up in a riot! Maybe some of you will be on tv, but not in a way you want...... sounds scary to me! I wish you all the best of luck.

i'm coming from france to see Obama, but unfortunatly i don't have tickets, but i'll watch him in tv screens on boystown, it will be incredible!

Poor Obamabots. It pulls at my heartstrings to hear the stories of so many sacrifices and yet an inability to touch the cloak of the Anointed One. If you do make it, don't forget to bring change. And your dollars too. Clinton swore that tax increases were going to be levied upon only the wealthy, then proceeded to expand them to the middle class. There's no such thing as a free lunch or free universal healthcare. We'll all be paying more as entitlements are broadened the likes of which we haven't seen since the "great society." BHO, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, Boxer, Leahy, Barney Frank& Beans...Squeeze the rich and bleed the middle class. Reward failure. Symbolism over substance.

I love watching (and listening to) Barney Fife called upon to address the mortgage meltdown. Hysterical and hypocritical all at the same time!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGT_cSi7Rs

How refreshing to hear Nancy Pelosi blame Bush and the De-Regulators. It's like watching the video of Trooper Wooten tasering his 10 year old stepson and denying excessive use of force.

Get over it. The important thing is the election, not tickets to the acceptance speech. Less than 100,000 tickets went out. If you signed up on Obama's website you got a notice to attempt to get tickets first come-first served. If you feel you deserve to be there because you volunteered to elect Obama you missed the point of volunteering entirely.

Just vote!!

That's the only important thing.

Contributing and/or working for the campaign had nothing to do with receiving a confirmation; it was ONLY a function of first come, first serve. I did all of the above and was too late!!

Getting tickets (confirmation) was only a function of timing: first come, first served. Donations and volunteering had nothing to do with it.

I am an American citizen. That's my ticket. I'm going.

I got the email early in the morning Wednesday and I went to get my ticket at 9:00am and I was told that I couldn't and I couldn't even find a way to get on the wait list. I still plan on going but I was disappointed to say the least.

Did anyone get a actual ticket yet or just the confirmations?
Also Mayor Daley said all should come down. Only those with tickets get in the gate but it's a park and ralley will be heard and the vibe felt outside the gates!

My husband and I are on the wait list for tickets but booked flights and got a hotel room blocks from Grant Park anyway, because we want to be at the epicenter of this HUGE night! We are voting at 6am and on a plane from NYC at 10am. Tickets or no tickets we are going to be there with bells on!!! Its going to be an historic night! YIPPPEE!!!

Get rid of the tickets, use metal detectors on the the street intersections, get big screens and big sound systems, and use the entire Grant Park. 1,000,000 people - looks like July 4th to me. CHANGE should be the operative word - not RESTRICTED.

Have any of you received your tickets in your email yet? I ask because I received a confirmation too but have yet to see a ticket or said further info. Just wondering if I should still expect to get a ticket.

I recieved a confirmation as well and no hard ticket. Has anyone recieved a hard ticket yet?? I hope that confirmation means tickets are coming

I too recieved an email confirmation but have not yet received any official tickets. Maybe the campaign is waiting until closer to event time to release tickets. Also, I hope they are trying to figure out a way for more people to be part of the rally... big screen TV's, speakers, etc.

Same story with me -- a confirmation on Tuesday, but still no follow-up e-mail with the elusive ticket.

I have not gotten a ticket yet but I think they are waiting to the last minute to avoid duplication of the tickets. The fact that people haven't gotten their tickets yet gives me hope. They probably don't want people selling the tickets either so wait till Monday before you get worried or as late as Tuesday morning.

i got that same email that this is not a ticket, then today got this one:

I can confirm what ObamaWoman2008 posted. I received the same email from the campaign. This also clears up a lot of speculation about who got tickets and who didn't. It was obviously first come first serve as I got a ticket and never donated a single thing (besides my vote and some positive energy of course).

Dear Kathryn KKK Coombs. I was all ways told if you dont have anything good to say. Dont say anything. You have just proved your ignorance! You really sound like someone misinformed. making 42,000 a year does not raise you taxes. I see you have not listened to President Obama at all. You have only heard what you wanted to here, from a desperate republican campaine that has run out of time. I feel sorry for you. You live in the far past you still want slaves to wash you feet and cook you food. we I have news for you Ms. KKK you time is also up. Good nite to you. the Sun has fallen, you may as well you and crawl back in that whole in which you came. You are ingnorant and Sad!

I signed up immediately after I received the email, and got the same "THIS IS NOT A TICKET - THis email confirms you have signed up to receive a ticket, you will receive further information in the coming days." But I have not yet received any confirmation or tickets in my e-mail...how do I know if I got a ticket or not?

The important thing is that Obama is GOING TO BE PRESIDENT! There are millions of people who wish they could be at that event but it is simply impossible to accomodate. Check your ego--realize that him winning is far bigger than YOU. Besides--grant park is huge. If you go to the event without a ticket you'll still be a part of the excitement.

I received this email today: Your ticket will be emailed to you on Monday, November 3rd, between 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Each ticket is personalized for the ticket holder and is non-transferable.

You must print your ticket and bring it with you to the event. Each ticket is valid for you and one guest.

Is that still the waitlist email??

I donated money once but never volunteered.

I got tickets tonight, not because I had the power or the money--but because I happened to get the email right away and signed up immediately.

That's all.

No power brokers, no donating more money, just strategic placement of my butt in front of a computer at the time I got the email.

If this country is going to change--we need to change our attitude of feeling entitled for no reason.

If you donated money or time to the campaign your reward should be the fact the person you felt was best to lead the country at this time won.

As I recall, Chicago's a big place and will have many parties.

Have fun, relax and by all means, VOTE!

I, too, am disturbed by the reactions of those who didn't receive a ticket because you CHOSE to volunteer. While noble in efforts, it is still volunteerism. Remember the big picture. Don't short yourselves. The only thing Obama owes to us is to do a damn good job once elected. To work hard to deliver on his promises. To be infuriated because you weren't invited to the party is childish. Grow up and let's change our country!
