The Obama campaign is looking for the early voter in a certain video game. And for anyone suffering "election fatigues,'' that game is called "Burnout Paradise.'' (Photo from joystiq.com)

Barack Obama has money to burn.
And he is burning some of it on video games:
"It looks like presidential nominee Barack Obama is seeking out the oft-overlooked "virtual maniac driver" voting bloc,'' joystiq.com notes. "Gamers who fire up their copy of Burnout Paradise for Xbox 360 will notice that some of the bilboards now feature an advertisement from Obama that says early voting has begun and features the URL of his campaign website.''
Electronic Arts Director of Coroporate Communications told GigaOM: "I can confirm that the Obama campaign has paid for in-game advertising in Burnout.'
"As recently as yesterday,'' joystiq notes, "Obama is still citing video games in stump speech about underachieving kids.''

Comments
DUH! The advertisements are meant for adults who play the video games. Last time I checked, kids still can't vote for President.

For the inevitable commenter here who STILL thinks only kids play video games, you need to realize that one of the largest demographics growing in the video game industry is 20s and 30s. And as they get older, it'll be 40s then 50s.
I personally know 3 people, all in their 30s, who enjoy this game. And yes, they are normal productive adults - the stereotype of the game playing kid is gone.

You know what's the best ever? Obama has his own channel on Dish Network. Seriously folks, you can stop giving to his campaign now, he's got it covered.
