Russian premier and puppetmaster Vladimir Putin sure knows how to kick a country when it's down.

He trash talked the U.S. today for its "irresponsibility" in handling the financial meltdown and to get the Wall Street bailout done. He said it raised questions about the U.S.'s world leadership.

Here's an excerpt of a Reuters story:

MOSCOW, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin criticised the United States on Wednesday for what he said was the country's inability to deal with the financial crisis affecting the global economy.

"Everything that is happening in the economic and financial sphere has started in the United States. This is a real crisis that all of us are facing," Putin told a government meeting.

"And what is really sad is that we see an inability to take appropriate decisions. This is no longer irresponsibility on the part of some individuals, but irresponsibility of the whole system, which as you know had pretensions to (global) leadership", he said.

We're sure Putin is many things but saddened at the predicament the U.S. finds itself in is probably not one of them.

I'm sure that the US news media and Us leaders always take into consideration what they are saying about countries that our down. "Bomb bomb Iran" and "grave threat" and "puppetmaster" come to mind. The world at large has never been PC, nor are we when we speak to issues or countries at large. But hey--what you say is a great distraction from the fact---Putin is 100% percent right. Obama CAN back that up. "This problem is an outrage... of several years." Corresponds to Putins "not just a few individuals but a whole system." I agree with him. Now I'm sure in journalism talk that means I'm not a compassionate person. Real talk is back! (laughing)

I don't think he's all that happy as Russia is losing big as well due to the credit crisis the US created.

So Putin was really talking about Sen. Obama when he said, "This is no longer irresponsibility on the part of some individuals, but irresponsibility of the whole system, which as you know had pretensions to (global) leadership".

Is this comment based on Sen. Obama's European vacation and stump speeches as if he were already the POTUS and World Leader? I guess then that Mr. Putin is very disappointed in Sen. Obama for not doing much of anything at home, since home is the USA and the USA dictates the world financial stability?

Isn't Putin that guy who retired or stepped down in Russia?
